Fantasy Trials of the Grave

The Imaginary Imagination
WELCOME! Welcome fellow students to the School of Combat Arts and Trials. My name is Kerosch Naxos. I have recruited you into my program because I believe you hold a special skill that will excel in our rigorous course. At your time here, you will face a set of trials alongside your fellow students. It is up to you to pass these trials to reach Graduation day alive. Of course, killing you isn't our goal, by all means, we want you to pass, however... I will not tolerate weakness. Those that cannot meet my expectations will be shown discipline as a way of motivation to do better. These trials won't be easy and are actually very dangerous. The normal human wouldn't survive a minute in the Arena. So... on that note... I wish you the best of luck!

All the students filed onto chairs in front of a his rising podium that made everyone look up to see who was talking. At the podium stood the entire School Staff Administration with Kerosch Naxos, the President, at the middle. "Welcome, young ones, the School of Combat Arts and Trials, or S.C.A.T. You were all called here because I believed each of you held a particular set of skills that makes you stand out among the rest of the world. I expect that you'll all do brilliantly... I... EXPECT... so. Ahem... anyway, now that you're all here, I wouldn't want to hold you all down here for too long so I'm going to go ahead and introduce the Administration."

Naxos hands the mic over to the next man. "Hello, the name's Justin Jackson. Vice President of the School. I'm going to save the motivational speech and just go ahead and wish you all luck... don't die," he said with a smirk creeping at the edge of his mouth. Justin handed the mic over to the next person. "Joseph Turin, Head Disciplinarian," and that was all before the next person took the mic and introduced himself as "Dust, Vice Disciplinarian," and the next, "Midas, Trials Overseer, I'll be... of course..m the one overseeing the tri-"

The mic was suddenly snatched away by the next man. A resounding crackle of mad laughter resonated throughout the enormous room. "Listen up! I'm the Trial Executioner, your worst nightmare, Outbreak," he said, with an insane grin. "You like blood? I do... so let's get the show started!" Outbreak said, laughing wildly as walls suddenly emerged around the students, boxing them in. "Welcome to the Arena... and welcome to your first Trial!" Outbreak said, smiling impossibly wide. He enjoyed this way too much. But the staff did nothing but watch the students. "Your objective is simple... eliminate the threat," Outbreak said as five turret emerged from each wall, two emerging directly in the wall facing the students. Five lasers were pinpointed on five different students, marking the line of shot. "Five highly accurate turrets, powerful enough to pierce through a six inch thick wall of titanium. In other words, insta-death," he said with an insane cackle. "Move a single inch and..." a gunshot was heard and a student fell to the floor, a puddle of blood forming around him. His hand was over a sheathed katana. "I'll pop a hole right through your pretty little head," Outbreak said. "Have fun! I know I will," he said, with one final laughter sounding from the room before someone else took it. The last staff member. "Hello... everyone. My name is Ivenn, nice to meet you. As you can see, you're all an inch of movement away from death. I'm the Student Advisor, aka. Your Teacher and never have a seen a group of little guys like you so eager to listen to one. That's right, I'm here to give you your ticket out. The information I'm going to give you, can either be used to your advantage or tossed aside. Your choice. The turrets rely on heat signatures to pinpoint your location. They can all fire at a 90 degree angle left and right... not up and down. The turrets can only target one student at a time and will remain fixated on that student unless another is deemed a higher valued threat. In other words, if student A is closer to the turret than student B, student A is the one getting a cap popped on him. Also... I figured it's be nice to let you now that you're all surrounded by a mine field. One step past the line which is... where you're all sitting and kaboom. So anyw-" Outbreak suddenly interrupted him with, "That was supposed to be a surprise!"

"Oh cut them some slack, we want them to live don't we? It's their first day, the least we could do is let them know what's going to kill them. Anyway, I wish you the best of luck!" And with that Ivenn turned the mic off. The rest was up to the students to figure out how to take out the turrets without getting killed. Good luck you guys... you're gonna need it ;)

(Btw, the turrets will be controlled by me)

Alen looked around at all the turrents and smirked "they rely on heat signatures eh?" He scoffed as he sat down carelessly "good thing my body heat is 50 below zero!!"

Ace sat their, a delighted smirk on her lips. She closed her eyes and she forced the turret aimed at her to move to a different student, who she made raise their hand.

Kane looked at one turret and sighed as he teleported on top on it. He stood there without a care in the world not saying a word

Mortemiah quickly turns into a shadow, and travels between each person's shadow.

The turret aimed at the other student and immediately fired at him, killing the student that had just raised his hand. When Kane teleported on top of a turret across from it, it immediately prioritized him. The turret took aim and fired, hitting his leg. "Ooh... close one wise guy, but taking your time with those turrets is taking time you don't have," Outbreak said with a cackle. Ivenn was watching the girl with the mind control and the shadow. They knew how not to get killed at the very least. The boy who dropped his body temperature had the right idea but he had no way of getting to the turrets. He'd need someone to take him there. At that point, Ivenn looked at the boy that just teleported over a turret. Unfortunately for him, he didn't take into account, the other four turrets that could still target him.

Ace began to move the turret upwards, the screech of metal unpleasant but she could bear it. She didn't move and stayed perfectly still in her seat.

The turret aimed at Kane again, however, it began to tilt upwards. When it fired, it missed, right above his head. The turret groaned as it tried to reload, but it was jammed. Sparks flew from a few jagged corners..

Ace concentrated harder, sweat beading her brow as the two turrets infront of her began to shrink, the metal clanking and bending.

Outbreak gripped the railing, wide eyed. "What is going on? What is happening?" He observed two more turrets get crushed. Ivenn chuckled. "I know who it is," Ivenn said, eyeing Ace. "Man, this has got to be an easy Trial if it's that easy to top your killing machines, eh, Outbreak?" He said, looking over with a smirk. Midas glanced at the two. Outbreak's face was contorted in rage. "No no no!" He yelled, angrily. "Enough!" Midas demanded of Outbreak. He shut up immediately. "The girl has talent that you did not forsee. On a first day, I'd say that's a fine job. A good choice of students for this year's program," Midas said. Naxos nodded approvingly at Midas' comment. Outbreak grit his teeth. There were two turrets left. There was nothing he could do but let the girl get away with it. One student single-handedly surpassed his first Trial. Wait... "Hehe..." Outbreak snickered. The entire staff immediately trained their eyes on him. "Outbreak..." Ivenn said, cautiously. Outbreak looked at him, his eyes flashing dangerously. "It'd be a shame... if... she sneezed," he said, with a cackle. Outbreak controlled disease. "Outbreak don't you dare!" Ivenn yelled. He lunged at Outbreak and the two began wrestling. Midas and Turin walked over and grabbed the two of them. "Stop this immediately!" Turin demanded. Outbreak was laughing insanely. The virus infect her nose, and gave her a small impulse to sneeze. Not overwhelming, she could resist the urge... but she'd have to do so in order to not get shot. "Anything can happen in combat... even a sneeze could kill you... it's fair game," Midas said. Ivenn dusted himself off and scowled. "It's a dirty trick... that scumbag never plays fair game," he said. Outbreak grinned widely. "Let's see if your student succeeds this time," he told Ivenn. The staff turned their eyes back on Ace, to see if she'd be able to take out the last two turrets that were still trained on two random students among them.

Kane sighed as his body rippled and disappeared. It was an illusion. The real kane now walked behind the frozen Turrent and teleported it on top of the other. He then teleported both of them to the top of the room and they came plummeting down

The last operating turret immediately aimed at Alex and fired, hitting his hand. It then fired again, hitting his shoulder. Justin raised his eyebrow at the boy that waved his hand. "Hmm... took out a turret but is taking shots from the last one," he said. Outbreak's expression withered. "Ha! I have more than one student, Outbreak," Ivenn said proudly, with a smile. Outbreak shot him a glance. As far as he was concerned, someone could still get shot. Justin looked at Naxos. "What's ice boy's name?" He asked. "Alex White," Naxos told him. "Hmm... Alen... where have I heard that name before," Justin said, deep in thought.

Outbreak stared in awe as the last two turrets came crashing down. Ivenn suddenly began laughing hysterically. "Hahahaha! That was great! Such a good choice of students this year. Those four... shadow girl, mind control gal, ice boy, and illusion dude. Call them to my office as soon as this is over," he said. Naxos nodded. The walls slowly sank back into the ground. The trial was over. Outbreak stormed off without a word. Two dead students lay on the ground. Naxos grabbed the mics. "Congratulations. You have passed the first Trial of many. I congratulate those that made it out alive. Sadly, two didn't even make the first day," Naxos said. "As this opening ceremony is now over, feel free to wander the school, and familiarize yourself with the place!" He said, finally. The staff then proceeded to leave, except Turin. He kept a watchful eye over all the students as they left.

Alen sighed as he laid on his back and stared at the ceiling "great now I'm bored!!" Suddenly it started snowing in the room and it got a bit colder "ahh much better!!" He said laughing as he started to make a snow angel

Kane growled as he glared at the ice boy. He hated the snow and the cold as much as everything else. He went to the corner of the room and leaned against the wall with his arms crossed not bothering to acknowledge the other students

Mortemiah reformed, becoming her human self again after morphing with the shadows. She glanced around, seeing the two dead students, and walked in the opposite direction, avoiding the crowd. She saw the ice boy bringing snow to the room and smiled slightly, since she liked the snow. Nonetheless, she wanted to avoid making conversation with any of the students, so she moved past them and went to lean against a wall. She saw another student doing the same and thought to herself, I wonder if any one here is actually interested in conversing. Mortemiah opened her parasol and held it above her, closing her eyes as she did so.

Ace was sneezing uncontrolably in her seat, trying not to fall from it. She eventually stopped but was red in the nose. She groaned and rubbed her head, the telekinesis effecting her. "Dammit.." She muttered and got up, looking around

Eventually Alen got bored of making snow angels, mini forts and a zombie hord of snow men and just laid down on his snow table he made earlier and sighed bored

Kane sighed as he brushed some snow off himself and looked around. He saw another chick staying away from people as well. He couldn't blame her. Talking was such a waste of time to him and there was no real point in it. He leaned his head back against the wall and decided to take a nap

Unknown to her, her nose started to bleed. She saw snow and her eyes lit up, reminding her of when she lived in Russia and the cold winters. She walked over and saw a boy in the snow. "Hello there!" She said with a thick Russian accent that made her even cuter.

@Penance

Alen looked up from him making a snow man decaptiate another with an icicle. "Hm? Oh hello!" He said with a warm smile (which was surprising for obvious reasons) and held out his hand "I'm Alen! You must be that mind control lady!"
