Realistic or Modern Torexx

Shog

The Infinite Being
Shog submitted a new role play:

Torexx - Defeat the game before it defeats you.

The newest game Torexx was just released! It was the first game to use the NTPED (Neuro To Physical Experience Device), which allowed the players consciousness to enter their avatars body and experience the game as if it was real life. The players even feel tingling instead of pain when hit. This MMORPG quickly sold out all 10,000 copies. The first week went off perfectly. The Creator decided to throw a party to celebrate the games success with all of its players. All of them showed up. Half way into the party, the Creator vanished right in the middle of his speech. Soon the players discovered the logout button didn't work. Everyone thought it was a simple glitch until everyone received a note saying the only to escape was to defeat the game. As players progressed, they started to notice that dead players were not respawning and the system didn't even a acknowledge they ever existed.

Skill Sets:

Paladin: They wear heavy armor and have a shield. They have the highest base defense.

Knight: They wield heavy swords and have the highest base attack.

Scout: They have the lightest armor and have the highest base speed.

Woodsman: They have the highest chances of getting a critical hit and tame creatures easier.

Enchanter: They can enchant weapons higher than any NPC and are the only ones who can use Infinity magic.

Magic:

I should first explain that you can only use magic that has been enchanted into your weapon. Each enchantment has a power rating of 1-10. The three types of magic are tactical (which affects the environment), offensive (which produces an attack from the weapon), and utility (which has an effect when your weapon makes contact with an enemy)

Dark/shadow, light/lightning, fire, earth, air, water/ice, physical/gravity, etc.

There are 34 levels with 3 bosses on each of them. You need to defeat 2 of them before you can even enter the room with the level boss. The only exception is the 34th level which only has the final boss. And is the largest level. Each level has a different theme. The first level is an open plain and the second is a forest with plenty of room between each tree.

1: Keep cussing to a minimum

2: You can have a relationship, but leave out some of the "fine" details

3: Chose a skill set and type of magic not already taken (if you come up with your own, PM me with details and I will consider it)

4: Don't be OP.

5: Find a way into the guild of the RP

Thomas had finally done it! He was an official enchanter! Unfortunately, the NPCs were still more useful than him. He is level 10 of 20, and he can only enchant weapons to a max of level 5, and only simple enchantments at that. And it would be another five levels until he could even consider using infinity magic. While he was frustrated by this, he did take pride in how fast he was leveling up his enchanting skill. As far as he knew, he was the best enchanter in the game! But he doesn't know everything…

It had been three months since the game started, and people had only recently unlocked the 5th floor, which he had helped with and was now on. He was dressed in black boots, a black shirt, a grey over shirt, and a darker grey jean like pair of pants. He had his long and slightly curved sword sheathed over his back. This level was proving to be a challenge because it was a jungle that slowed all progress.

Enrique has the best interests of society in mind. He lives by rules and a moral code. It's natural that he'd be part of the front lines, always trying to unlock the next level. There were people who straggled behind, not wanting to risk the dangers of the tougher levels. Some refused to do anything other than grind on level one. But Enrique couldn't stand it. He realized that the only way he could really help in this world is to keep unlocking levels. He had been on raids since day 1.

He was in the middle of the "field", the land in between dungeons and towns. He had been playing his role as the tank for other players, luring the tougher monsters while others did the damage. They got to avoid damage, Enrique got some crazy xp. As he entered the jungle center, he was reminded of his hometown. and the days he spent in the jungle. After some daydreaming, he noticed there were no other players about. He didn't want to go back to town, but he thought it might be dangerous alone. As he thought he heard the bone-chilling voice of Axl Rose singing "Welcome to the Jungle". Obviously just his imagination. Or was it? Suddenly he saw someone in the distance, and he ran towards him. It was a kid dressed in all black.

"Hey! Hey you!"

The kid turned around

"It's dangerous to go alone. Do you want to party up with me?"

Thomas broke off from his train of thought and looked at the new commer. Even though the game was still in its early stages, he was clearly a paladin. "Just like that?" He asked. He didn't know anything about this guy and wasn't sure he wanted to commit to the needs of a group. "You don't even know me or what I'm like. However, we both had to be in level boss raids together, seeing as you can't be on a level you hadn't beat a boss for. Yah, I think I recognize you now. What are you doing here alone?"

"Same as you I suppose. Leveling. Exploring. Practicing. Regardless, it's not all that smart to be alone. You could use someone to take damage, I could use someone to deal damage. We could go farther as a team than individuals. I remember you from level 3, you had some smart tricks up yer sleeve. How about it laddie?"

Enrique could hear Axl Rose's haunting refrain on the wind. Time was short, he was getting closer. The game was unfair, there was danger around every corner. They get a move on.

Thomas smiled a little. "Ok, yah. I'll make a party with you. If I like what I see then we can form a guild. My sword had leech 3 on it, so I can make it heal the person with the lowest health 30 points every time I hit something and an additional 30 damage will be dealt at the same time. Health shouldn't be much of a problem." As he was talking Thomas opened the menu and invited Enrique into a party.

At level Eight, Caty goes trudging on through the game she's not supposed to play, with clothing she's not supposed to have, and fighting enemies she's not supposed to fight yet. "Level Eight, and I'm already this far. These stupid shortcuts are putting me way too far ahead for my own good." As she came up to a clearing, she could tell there was someone following her. "Aaugh, stupid things don't know when to quit." She turns around and brings out her splitting katana blade, and makes short work of the monster which happens to be nearly double her level. "I need to find somebody else. Somebody who won't try to kill me just because I'm not supposed to be here."
'This game hates me, I can feel it. I'm killing things 5 levels above me and I'm not dead yet. I'm not wearing the game's stupid clothing. I'm too young to play. The list goes on and on...' She lets herself get lost in her thoughts. The exact wrong thing to do.
Another one of those stupid troll-things ambushes her. She's caught off guard and falls flat on her face, more than 3/4 of her health gone. She mentally face-palms. She turns up and slams the flat of her blade onto the troll's head, it drops nearly dead. She smirks, "One of the best tricks with these things, they've got weak skulls." Finishing it off, she takes the loot and limps off towards what looks like another forest, as she wants to avoid the town. Her left arm is no longer attached to the rest of her.

The sounds faded away. Enrique was still wary. He'd seen Jumanji enough times to be wary of the jungle. As much as it reminded him of home, these jungles were a different beast entirely. The whole world, the whole game was against him. The one thing he truly had faith in was his fellow man, and Thomas had fulfilled his expectations.

"Great. I've got a high level enchant on my sheild that could help if we're in trouble, something an old friend cooked up. It'll draw all mobs to me and immobilize me, but it'll block 95% of all damage. I think we've been good to handle things alone up to now, so I think the rest of the level will be a cakewalk together. Lead the way, as long as we go deeper in. I just hope we don't meet any hostile players."

There was a great panic when everyone discovered they couldn't log out. Some took advantage to threaten, steal, and even kill players outside of safe zones. They had to avoid crowds and guards, but they managed by picking on small groups. Most weren't bold enough to attack anyone at or above their level. A few were rumured to be "assasins", high risk, high reward cold killers who ambushed stronger targets. They are supposed to be few in number this high up, but anyone here would have to be strong.

Thomas turned and started to head deeper. He unsheathed his sword and started to use it like a machete. "How did you get such a powerful shield this early?" He asked. He then saw a creature called 'Green Diamond Viper'. He quickly took it out. He was only bitten once, but it applied a poisonous affect. "Black Health" he whispered shoving his sword into a dark hole. It then used the darkness around it to heal Thomas.

She limps towards what she now knows is a jungle, which is much worse than a measly forest. Her health saps from the blood loss. "Stupid realistic game..." 'This is it. I failed. I'm dying. I guess it's GAME OVER.' Her vision flashes red and darkens, a sure sign of near-death. She enters the jungle, hoping to the Creator that there's a stray potion lying around. She spots a trail. She sees two people standing there. She collapses to her knees, yelping for help.
"HELP! HELP! I'M NOT- GOnna- make it..."
She falls flat on her face.

Thomas spins around and sees a young girl lying on the ground. He yanks his sword out out of the knot in the tree. He quickly runs over to her. She is really low on health and has limbs missing. He pulls out a red crystal and says "heal" pointing it at the girl. Her limbs regenerate and her health shoots up about 3/4 of the way. The crystal disintegrates. It was his only health crystal, and those things are hard to get a hold of. More powerful than potions. "What do you think you're doing here? How did you get here at such a low level? I don't remember you from any raids."

She pauses for a few seconds before trying to get up. "Well hello to you too. Thanks for saving me. I about died there." She dusts herself off and ignores his questions. "My name's Caty, nice to meet you."

"If I had to guess" Thomas said, "I'd say this isn't your first time almost dying. Considering how casually your acting about it. Now just head back to town. Recover and be safe. Either that or you join us. Now mind you I don't have another health crystal, so that's not happening again."

"Don't worry, it won't. I made the mistake of letting my guard down, which is not a thing I usually do. And yeah, I'll join you. Watcha need in your little party?"

"Not death" Thomas said bluntly. "I'm Thomas, by the way. Why do you have such crapy equipment? And what kind of enchantments do you have?" He felt it necessary to know what she can and can not do. She might even be one of those assassins. He had plans I'd he ever met one…

"My equipment? Look closely. Very closely." She's trying to refer to the fact that her jacket isn't made of pixels. She pulls her hood down even further, as to not show away her eyes. "And as for enchantments, I only got a few. It's not MY fault I got sent this far."

"Yeah, my friend was a high level enchanter, something around level 14. He was relentless in grinding; he wouldn't stop until he collapsed. I... I lost him during the 4th level. I was knocked off a bridge into a chasm while my party was fighting. I never registered them in my friends list because we were always together, so I had no way to contact them. They can't be dead, but yet I can't find them on the front lines. I berate mys-woah!?!"

Paladins function mainly as tanks, but they have a bit of healing magic. Enrique quickly cast a "cure poison" on Thomas, running over to the person that just walked in. He runs over and casts a "halt bleed", stabilizing her condition. To be honest, she was very suspicious, but they couldn't just let her die. He decided to let Thomas do the talking.

"I see your friend here," motioning to Enrique, "and I see he's a tank. Those are always great to have. Nice shield."
She opens up her holo-touch menu. Sorting through her inventory, she looks for another Splitter Sword. She finds none. "Rrrrrrgh I need that sword back."
Turning to the boys, she's not very surprised. "Oh come on, have you never seen a Holo-Touch Menu before?"

"It's not that, but I'd appreciate if you didn't pull any weapons out right now. You looked pretty suspicious coming out of the bush and into our midst."

Enrique turns to Thomas "Do you think this could be an assassin ambush? It seems a little complicated."

"You mean like this one?" Thomas asked and opened it up. "All donators got one. I did more than my fair share of research about the game before it's launch. "Here, have this." Thomas pulled out an older sword that looked just like any other except for a few etchings on it. "A mob dropped it on level 3. Keep it." He then tossed it at her.
To Enrique he said "It's possible. I wasn't going to let her die, though. That's why she's moving in front of us. No exceptions."

"Thanks, but I'd rather go back and just get my katana. It's a special sword. If I can't find it, I'll take yours. It's better than nothing."

"We're moving forward" Thomas said. "Before it gets dark. It won't despawn until midnight and everyone here is too scared to explore the Jungle. I wouldn't worry about it."

"But it's one of the rarest swords you could GET. I need that sword! If it had the right enchants it could beat the best of bosses. Even level thirty-five. Though obviously not on it's own, of course."

She goes of to where her sword was, even though it was nearing dusk. It took her a while, but she found one of the halves. All she had to do was put the half back in her inventory, and the other half magically appeared with it. She always loved how it did that.

The sun had already set by the time she got back. "I got my sword, now let's go. It's always the most fun when it's dark."
