Realistic or Modern Torexx

Thomas was mad now. It was too dangerous to explore at night, but he wasn't about to leave her alone to possibly die again. "Back to town, NOW" he said trying to keep his anger in check. "No buts, no excuses, march!"

"Oh, come on. I got my sword. I wanna go exploring!"

Thomas narrowed his eyes and pulled out his sword. "And no complaining. We are going to town and that's final. Once we get there you can run back out and get your self killed, but I'm not having you die on my watch. It's a thing called morals. And in case you didn't know, your avatar still requires rest, food, and water. That's the realistic aspect. Now move!"

"Fine. I'll go to your stupid town." 'I hate towns,' she thought as she started to follow him. She pulled her hood even lower over her eyes. She hated being around so many people.

"And by the way; my Splitter is more powerful than your sword. If I had actual equipment to match, I'd already by five levels ahead of you. I chose this class because I knew I wouldn't be able to get good armour, but one of the best swords. This sword isn't even level-based in deciding who can wield it. It's awesome."

"That's because I worry more about my enchanting level than my player level. I'm good enough with a sword for me not to worry about it." He said. The town was just up ahead. There were a few mobs out in the open field, but noting to worry about.

(In this game, everything is level based. No exceptions. That includes duel wielding on that sword.)

Apparently lost in her own thoughts, she ignores him. She absently brings up her holo-touch and starts playing pong.

Thomas looked at Caty weirdly. "Pong, really? I thought you said you were usually focused. Not surprised though. Not even sure how you're here."

She gives a slight sigh and keeps on playing. She's obviously not here at the moment, she's off within her own thoughts.

Thomas tries to cover up his laugh and says "Told ya. Now pay attention. It's not that far." He then slashed through some more mobs. 'Come on, only 10 left!' He thought to him self and then raced off to kill some more. He really needed to upgrade his leech. He'd half to spend some time tonight working on that.

She sighs and gets up. 'I need to stop thinking old thoughts. It's in the past.' She brings out her Splitter, splits it, and powers through the remaining seven mobs quickly. She takes care to keep her hood down at all times, never revealing anything above the bridge of her nose.

Thomas killed the last one he needed and felt power surge through him. He had done it for now. Life just became a whole lot easier. He loved being a donator.

As these mobs were level twelve and above, she levels up to nine before they're all even dead. She's high enough level for an elemental enchantment on her Splitter. 'Finally, I can get a good upgrade on this thing!' She thinks to herself after she kills off her last one.

He chased after the girl and guided her towards the town. They were all three in now. "I'm not going to constantly keep an eye on you, but don't get killed. That means not playing pong in the field, got it?" He didn't wait for a response, but said he was going to do some work real quick and then left both of them. He went to the enchanter shop and upgraded his leech to level 5. He even had enough materials to get liquid shadow 2. He realized he needed some major killed the next day, but headed off to bed.

"Okay," she called back as they left her alone. She had no idea what the heck to do in a town. She'd never even been in one, except once because- 'I am stopping that train of thought before it runs me over. I need somewhere to sleep. I'll see if Tom can give me a good enchantment later, or if I should just save it so I can decide what I want. Actually, I'll just save it.' She looked all over, as all the other players were walking around doing Creator-knows-what. She found a nice bench to sit on, and closed her eyes waiting for sleep to come.

Thomas rolled out of bed early in the morning. He wanted to start exploring early. Out on the streets he saw the girl Caty from yesterday. He was honestly surprised she didn't just go back out at night. He looked around. A lot of people were up and getting ready. He decided to try and find the paladin first.

-----

(This is a good time to jump in.)

She watched as all the other players were getting ready to go out. She loved how the game, being rated 14+, had it so all you had to do to go to sleep was enter a bed at night, so that nobody would have to/get to see anybody naked. She decided to get ready herself to go to the jungle, and to find her next shortcut. It was supposed to take her straight to the next mini-boss, and she was going to need help taking it down. Maybe the tank and the offensive she met earlier? They seemed like they could help quite nicely. There was something odd about that tank though... that shield was a high-donator item. His tag wasn't orange, like all other high-donators. But, then again, her tag wasn't orange, either.
She looked around after sorting through her stuff, and found that Tom was in one of the really expensive motels. The kind that completely restores every single one of your stats. 'Man, this dude must've been pretty close to being a Top Donator....' Top Donators were players who donated SO MUCH that they got have special-access to almost everything, besides Beta and Testing stuff... those were reserved for the Developers.
99% of these were the owners of funding companies.

"Almost" Thomas said walking up behind her. "I come from a well off family. I became engrossed with MMORPG's about 3 to 4 years ago. My parents gave me money to help them because I stayed out of the way when I was gaming. My goal is to help people get out, but I'm just enjoying the game for what it is right now. I did a lot of research about this game. Now, how are here? Lie about age?"

Not really startled, she turned and answered him. "You know well enough it's nearly impossible to lie about ANYTHING to this game. Every person who ever tried to join was background-checked basically everywhere on the internet. By picture."
"So, why am I here? That's a good question."

"Good enough to answer" Thomas retorted. This girl simultaneously annoyed him and appealed to him. She was clearly good at doing what she does, but is a little bratty. He just couldn't make up his mind.

"And before you get any ideas, I am NOT a hacker. Do you see anything here, besides my current accessories, out of the ordinary? If I even COULD hack this game I wouldn't, anyway. It's no fun that way."
'Great, I'm making yet another person hate me. And I need him to pass the next boss!' she thought, as she opened up her paused Pong game, resuming where she left off. God she loved the Holo-Touch.
As she played, she continued to talk. "So, what're we gonna do right now? Go find your Paladin friend, or wait for him? I'm sure he won't go off on his own. Tanks can't do too much without any Offensives."
"Also, you haven't showed me your high-donator item, I'm dying to see what it is. I have no clue what item enchanters get."

"Well, it's not really and item" Thomas said. "After I kill 50 monsters within five levels of me, I gain the ability to use the enchantments on the weapon without using it. I can preform some dark magic right now without even using my sword. It's also rumored that I can enchant weapons past level ten when I'm a maximum level enchanter."

"I guess that means there's more than one thing that can be out-maxed, then."
"So, again, do we go or what? I'd actually like to stay here for a bit. I want to try something."
