Fantasy Tomorrow Never Comes (Zombie Apocalypse) [Always Accepting]

To Tim's delight the candy shop was almost completely intact. Bags of unspoiled candy was Timmy's for the taking. The boy greedily searched for his precious bag of sour worms and managed to find ten. Immediately opening a bag, he sucked on the worm's tart exterior and after it was all gone he gnawed on the chewy flesh. Finishing up the entire package, the teenager shook a grocery bag opened and pilled all the candy that would fix. Back outside, Tim returned to the herd of zombie with his delicious treasures.

"... huh? Up there? That's used for powerlines. Looks like we're going up, I suppose."

It was hard to tell what the kid was thinking. Perhaps he could write, though he didn't have a notebook and pen wit him. Xi did carry a book and pen with him, so maybe that could've been useful to some extent. Though from the looks of it, they're briefly parting, despite the sign from earlier to group up once he left. Quickly following after, it appeared that they had to move in a hurry, though it's not like that was a surprise or anything. After all, the horde was coming ever so closer, so they pretty much had to run everywhere if they needed to get anywhere "on time".

Watching as Jeson quickly left the building, of course, Chess didn't really trust the kid. He was quick to nearly strangle Go to death, and if he's taken a liking to Jeson, that probably meant that the rest of them were irrelevant. While it's usually an over-paranoia thing Chess carried, they really didn't find themselves way too fond of the kid, nor the curly-haired teenager that followed them. Though Chess has known Jeson long enough to know he can fend for himself for a good amount of time. Right now, they needed to take care of their own teammates around them. Taking off their jacket, they looped it around the wire around the pole that had fallen, a wire extending out towards a fallen tree as it had gotten tangled. With their colt revolver in hand, they gripped the sleeves of their jacket, looped around the wire. Cocking their head at the rest of their teammates to do the same, Xi removed his jacket and looped it around, before jumping off.

The wire was thick enough to support their weight, as it was used as a powerline and a telephone wire, of course. Gripping onto both of the sleeves for dear life, Xi slid down like a zipline rapidly towards the ground, though because it wasn't a straight downwards slope (the wire went down \, kind of centers in the middle - and then it seems to be pulled up towards the tree /), his rapid descent was slowed down by the slight slope caused by the tree, allowing him to jump down and pull on his jacket again. It was soon followed by Go, who didn't use his jacket, but instead had both hands around his sword, which was sheathed as he used it to slide downwards. Because of the wire, part of the sheathe appeared to have been cut through the speed, though not enough for it to come off due to the thickness. Chess followed soon after, though not without a bit of a distraction first. Before they slid down, Chess pulled a container of gunpowder that they had to use for their smaller gun. They had a few on them, but not enough to last even half a year with. They tossed it out in the distance towards the horde, before sliding down themselves. Raising their gun as they handled themselves dangerously with one arm they kept their gaze on the falling container from up the building, before firing off twice at it.

The first shot missed.

Still a little bit pissed off about getting cock blocked by Necro, Carter followed close to what was going on. He studied Necro from a distance, and came to the conclusion that something was up. He looked at Jeson and smiled, then continued to take notes on the situation. After a few moments he turned to Necro. "Hey, I don't get what the problem is, but you could at least try to fill us in a bit." H then had an idea. "Do you know how to write (@KuroKami Ruler can he?) After Necro neither shook his head for yes or no, Carter felt alone again. He wanted to tell Jeson his theory about their companion, but that wouldn't do much good. He noticed a cut on his shoulder from the fight between Necro and the group that Jeson was with. He thought of the song that he had wrote down (Bobby Caldwell - What You Won't do For Love) He handed the paper to Jeson. "It's been my dream to play this song with a band ever since my father's funeral... Do you know how to play an instrument?" (@Entarriance) Beggining to think he was getting off topic, he looked down at the ground and kicked away a few pebbles.

The loud and sudden sounds made both girls jump, worsening Lexi's condition. "Damn it," Elizabeth didn't want to, but quickly moved over to the door, leaving the distressed Lexi a few feet away. The older girl groaned as she had f dropped the pick that was in the door, and had to begin again. "Hang in there Violet, just a little long- awe shit," She muttered, as the pick broke. She dug another one out of her pocket and pulled the broken piece out. She quickly began again. Lexi nearby, had her hands over her ears, bitting her lip, but still managing to hyperventilate, tried to push all the thoughts out of her head, but to no avail.

Memories of Courage "Hey Alpha, you hear that?" Alpha nodded without a word. "Should we go help? They might be in trouble..." "No Jackson... we're better off if we don't get in the way." Princeton chuckled, "When did that ever stop us? C'mon, lets help the poor saps. Maybe we can get some tips on some good areas to search." Celty added a comment. "They've probably got a horde on them. This is as good a chance as any if we want to wipe out a large portion of the zombies on this wretched planet." Alph looked down for a moment. "Alright team, we're leaving our stuff here and going to help. Ammo, guns, knives, all our combat gear. Let's move MoC." With that they were off.

Alpha and Miss Jackson went right into the action, killing the horde from their own side with their blades, the katana wielding girl and military style man sticking out like sore thumbs. Lolita and Prince were on a rooftop talking amonst each other. "Prince, you're a better shot with a sniper. You cover their backs." Celty noticed the group on another building and stood up waving with both hands and screamed. "HEY! YOU GUYS THERE! WE'RE HERE TO HELP OUT, WE'LL TRY TO THIN DOWN THE HORDE FROM OVER HERE, IF YOU GUYS DON'T HAVE A PLAN YOU GOT ABOUT TEN MINUTES BEFORE WE HAVE TO BAIL, EITHER WAY WE SHOULD MEET UP AS SOON AS WE CAN, ASESS THE SITUATION AND WHAT NOT! CATCH YOU ON THE FLIPSIDE!" With that Celty joined Prince and began shooting zombies with her scary accurate pistol. Of course she missed a shot here and there, but she was obviously good with a gun.

Necro looked over toward the other team members. He could use them for now... He quickly beckoned for them to come over and join them on the platform. The curly-haired kid wouldn't let up. He was pissing him off. Of course he could fucking write. He was mute, not mentally challenged. He curled the kid's collar in his fist and made a hissing noise in his face, telling him he needed to just shut up for a bit, and let him do what he needed to for all of their best interests. He began to raise the platform, watching as Jeson's team ran as fast as they could over to it. If they didn't make it in the next few seconds, they'd be left on the ground. If THAT happened, they would have no chance at survival. @The Hidden Kracken

Hearing the sound of shouting, Xi briefly stopped to look up towards the building. He could only briefly wave, before feeling someone pick him up from underneath.

"We gotta go, flower-head!"

Before he could protest, Go was already sprinting as hard as he could, before using his sheathed sword as a type of "pole" to say, giving him extra leverage for a jump as they flung themselves onto the platform. On the other hand, Chess was sprinting a little bit behind. Jumping, it was obvious they weren't going to make the jump, though they felt something warm grab their outstretched hand before they fell. Jeson was pretty much half-off of the platform with Xi frantic to try and keep him on, pretty much creating this awkward chain of Go keeping Xi on keeping Jeson on holding Chess, who was dangling off the ground with a hand.

"You guys could have stayed up on the building, you know."

"A building has doors, asshole. We'd be dead once hat thing flooded."

"H-hey, um, there seems to be a group up there?"

Pulling him their friend, Xi was staring at a few small specks in the distance, which appeared to be someone with blonde hair and someone with much lighter platinum hair, both which appeared about shoulder length. But they were too far to do anything, and Xi returned back to look at the group, Chess looking downwards towards the horde and then about their environment, while Go was glaring distastefully at Carter. He didn't seem to be rather fond of the person for whatever reason, similar to the comical analogy between dogs and cats.

How are we going to get off from this? Well, it's up to about telephone-pole height at Max, so until the horde washes over, a suspended platform isn't a bad idea. However, the fact that...

Looking to both Carter and Necro, again, Chess didn't feel very
trusting of these people, but who does? They knew their own group rather well, over 10 years lets you know someone whether you like it or not. But the Necro kid probably would be happy to kill any one of them in an eye-shot, and they remained high-on guard for anything that the young man was about to do. Breaking off from both Carter and Necro seemed like the wisest choice, though Necro probably found some type of usability in their group, as would Chess have if they had switched situations. Deciding to part now would appear to be a poor choice, and in any scenario, could end up with one of them gone. He even put in the little extra effort to starting the platform without them. While it was probably an effort of haste, it could have also easily been an attempt to drown out and kill the rest of them.

Xi was a bit more on the floaty-side of things, easy to help and rely on anything. While he was one of the most intelligent and logical, his friendly and straightforward personality usually made him the worst to be manipulated otherwise. Go was, fickle with pretty much
everyone, so no idea where that road is heading down.

They all appeared to remain quiet while the platform moved up, as if in thought.

"... do I know how to play an instrument? I can play piano, some orchestral instruments like the upright bass and the violin. More of the classical and orchestra instruments."

"Come on you stupid door, open!" Elizabeth growled after breaking another lock pick. She glanced over at Lexi, her heart dropping after seeing the state she was in. She dug out another lock pick, if this didn't work, she would just shoot the lock.

Tears fell from Lexi's eyes as she clasped her head even tighter, starting to rake her nails on her scalp. "It's not safe, it's not safe..." she felt like she was drowning, being crushed, and burned all at the same time.

Carter looked over at Go and waved playfully to try and lighten the mood, but just got a snarl in return. He looked up to Jeson and pulled a pen from his pocket. He wrote down the sheet music of a few instruments that Jeson had mentioned and asked him if they were correct. He knew they were, he could play any type of music from classical to Ska... Punk to Jazz. The group continued their fight with the zombies, and Carter felt the pendant on his neck. He looked up to Jeson and wrote him a note, more or less warning him about Necro. Necro sat there while Carter started to hum a few notes of the song. The group didn't seem to mind much, as Carter WAS the youngest. Maybe that was why that Go person didn't like him. He pulled out his machete and read what it said. "To Carter, From dad" no one paid him attention, and he didn't care. He laid down and thought to himself what life could become if the outbreak had ended.

"Who can take a sunrise?"

Tim skipped along the road with his zombie escorts.

"Sprinkle it with dew"

The boy opened up another bag of sweets.

"Cover it with chocolate and a miracle or two"

He dumped them all in his mouth.

"Daw- chawn-dee-mawn"

Swallowing his treats, he continued "The Candy Man" song as the zombies wailed in confusion.

"Oh, the candy man can"

Happy and content, Tim swayed his head in a playful manner.

"The candy man can cause he mixes it with love and makes the world taste good."

Timmy cheerfully twirled the grocery bag in his hand.

Necro sat down, pondering their options. They'd obviously be up here quite a while, for the horde spread about as far out as he could see, and they sure weren't making an effort to move any faster. If they made noise, they'd be noticed, and most likely trapped up there until they died of thirst. The zombies probably wouldn't have anything better to do than wait for them to come down. If they waited for the zombie horde to pass (who knows how long that would take) there were a countless number of things that could go wrong. They could be the cause of one another's deaths, because most of them obviously didn't get along too well. They could also underestimate the size of the horde and die from thirst anyway. Then, they were in plain sight. Any survivor within miles could see them if they just looked the right way. Most survivors weren't too nice, and they could wind up dead before the horde passed, or lower into an ambush. @The Hidden Kracken

Elizabeth gave a victory laugh as she heard the lock click, signaling that it was open. She quickly pulled Lexi up, and opened the door, using calming words to try to pull her out of the panic attack. Lexi couldn't hear her sister though, and was still struggling to breathe correctly. Lexi slumped up against a shelf as Elizabeth went in search of her medicine. She went as far as she could, before hearing the unmistakable sounds of the undead. Her hand danced over the machete attached to her left thigh. She rounded a corner, only to be met with a hanging zombie. She sighed, and continued her search, keeping a sharp ear for any other signs of danger, besides the sound of Lexi.

Shrugging his shoulders, Go hadn't eaten anything since he just got up. Unlike the rest of his teammates who periodically snacked on dried foods that Xi established, being the mom of the group, Go didn't have the time when he was bleeding out and temporarily (or currently in this situation) dying. Despite keeping a safe distance away from Carter, , he used the length of his sword to pull the box over to him, peering inside. Most of it was full of dried or preserved foods by the looks of it, perhaps it was someone elses' food from before. Grabbing whatever could fit in his hand, he pushed the box back over to the kid, quietly eating. It's almost as if making a single sound would cause the horde to go their way.

Jeson was determined to at least figure out the kid's name. Briefly exchanging Xi's book and pen for the few cups and his canteen, which was refilled in this case, he pulled himself over nearby the kid. Handing him the book and the pen, there were numerous blank pages in the back of the book that appear to be used for notes, as drawings of various plants and human anatomy appeared to be scratchily drawn out. Xi was always pretty good at drawing. Other then that, the rest of the book appeared considerably complicated with numerous entries written in languages extending from Greek, Latin, and Russian. And between the marigins, notes appeared to be scribbled in messy cursive of, Latin? Supposedly. After all, some of the more informative topics in the world date back to the times long before, and sometimes you go as far as to educate yourself in a different language to learn.

"Hey. I'm not going to do a whole passing-note thing, since it's obvious that you aren't deaf too. I, never really got to know your name, and I suppose that might be just a little convenient."

There wasn't a whole lot to do on the platform. Chess, in a similar manner to what Necro appears to be doing, was silently scanning the horde down below, not trying to draw attention to themselves a whole lot. The gang had a pretty decent amount of supplies, but there were two "foreigners" to their gang, and if it wasn't emphasized before, it made them feel a little uneasy. They were prepared to have to spin around for a duel at anytime if they heard something wrong, though with such a limited space on a platform, it's anyone's game up here. Perhaps when the horde passes, to god Almighty knows when, their group might have to part from the both of them. Though that may be an unwise choice, since the muted young man could try and kill them at anytime without any drop of remorse.
Sure as hell, that's the last time I try and reason with someone was the first thing established in Chess' head when thinking about it. Next to the two others, Chess' other primary concern was the group causing the deaths of one another, but Go appeared relatively less violent than he usually is.

Perhaps it's just the environment.

Xi's back leaned against Chess'. It wasn't like he was being affectionate or anywhere romantic, no, but it was more of some act of comfort that he enjoyed. Human contact in a pretty dead-environment appeared rather relaxing for him. With the few cups retrieved from what appeared to be the cafe, Xi poured some water into the first one. Dropping bits of oxalis in the water, he let it simmer in a similar matter to tea leaves. It wouldn't really do anything major, but it did give the water a bit of a sour lemon-like taste and a huge boost of Vitamin C. Bringing it to his mouth as he took a sip, it was a very refreshing flavour for it to wash down. Xi did consider making it for everyone else, though before he could, he felt someone's elbow nudging him. Turning his head to meet with the back of Chess' head, it appeared to be some sort of gesture of safety.
Maybe I'll make some if they ask... was what he thought, praying for the rumbling underneath them to end soon.

Carter sat there quietly repacking the box. He pulled out what looked to be an old pack of skittles and handed 3 or 4 to each member of the group. He then passed around a canteen. Once he had eaten, he saw that the others were uneasy of him and Necro. It wasn't like he had anywhere else to go, and Jeson seemed to be the only one actually trying to help the two of them. Carter looked around for a way to the nearest building from their current position. It was now dusk, and it was getting harder to see. He stood and looked over to Go before pointing to the power line. "Since the power is cut out, we could tightrope across. or zip line somehow, since it seems to dip down." (@KuroKami Ruler @Entarriance I'll let you decide what we do) He looked around, then waited for approval. He had no means of hurting these people, and wished they could understand the situation he was in. He rubbed his neck when he saw a light in the distance. The army? No. It was another group of some sorts. Carter got low. "Hurry up and make a decision, we really don't want to be stuck between them and the zombies. I can barricade us from the zombies from supplies we find in the building, trust me!" He smiled at the group, always trying to lighten the mood. But no one paid him attention, like always. Carter got on his back and began to do reps of sit ups.

"Why did I eat all that candy?!" Timmy groaned in discomfort. He held his belly as he lay down in an alley. The horde had left without him. If someone had told the boy that he would die one day from eating to much candy, he would have loved the thought of it. Now all he wanted was a zombie to eat him up just so his stomach pains would go away. Sweat dripped from his brow as the beating of his heart sped up. Tim's eyes blurred as he slipped into unconsciousness...

...

"In einem Bächlein helle,

Da schoss in froher Eil’

Die launische Forelle

Vorueber wie ein Pfeil."

The Professor slammed the piano keys. His face was red in frustration from the singing child.

"Mr. Blank! why must you continue to disappoint me? Enunciate! Sing it again from the beginning."

While the Professor played 'Die Forelle' over again, the frightened boy tried to pronounced the lyrics clearly.

"In einem Bächlein helle,

Da schoss in froher-"

"Sing in tune you dolt!" the Professor yelled as he leaped from his seat and stood in front of the crying child.

Tim sniveled, "I'm doing my best Professor Gilbert!"

"That was not your best, not even close! We both know you have the potential to become a famous singer."

"But I don't want that!"

"What?!"

"I don't want to be famous. I want to sing for fun."

"Sing for fun?!" Professor Gilbert scoffed. "Will it be fun to remain a poor orphan all your life? Do you want that? No mother or father to help you? You do know that I have been taking care of you since you were five? Putting a roof over your head, giving you food to eat, helping you on your career! And all you do is cry about it. I am the only one who has bothered to help you. You know why that is? It's because no one cares about us. No one wants to help an orphan. We are both ALONE! When you grown up, you will thank me for assisting you on your career. I wish someone had done that for me."

"Leave me alone!" Timmy sobbed.

The Professor attempted to grab the child but Tim flinched away thinking Gilbert was going to strike him.

"I'm not going to hurt you Mr. Blank," the Professor reassured the boy as he lowered his hand. "All I want is to help you! You must understand this. Now sing again... correctly! I know you can do it."

Gilbert went back to the piano and played. Still weeping, the boy sang sweetly.

"In einem Bächlein helle,

Da schoss in froher Eil’

Die launische Forelle

Vorueber wie ein Pfeil."

Necro reached into the box and got some food before looking over at Jeson. He took the paper and scribbled something down. When he gave the paper back, friend was clearly written in the middle of the page. He smiled and turned to his food. This is where the whole thing began. Hunger.

Elizabeth searched the array of different drugs, looking for anything related to what her sister took. Lexi however, was starting to calm down a little, but was a complete mess. Her breathing returned somewhat, and her mind cleared a little. Elizabeth gave a victory shout when she found three things she was looking for. Xanax, Ativan, and Tofinal. She quickly went back to her sister.

Carter looked around and shrugged. He pulled of his coat to reveal wounds from a fight with another group, then preceded to zipline to the building. Once inside, he began to barricade the door with filing cabinets from office cubicles. He searched the place before returning to the window and giving the group a sign telling them it was safe. He noticed Necro pass Jeson a note. "At least some of us are getting along" he thought before setting down his bag and pounding away at the wall. He needed to be ready ,and Necro wasn't going to be the guy to be taking him down when the time for a fight comes. @KuroKami Ruler @Entarriance

"... well."

Carter appeared to have gone solo in zipping downwards towards a building, considering mainly how none of the group was really that insistent on following. The lower they were to the ground, the more an Infected could smell them. That enough was common sense, at least to them. But somehow, the tension eased from Go's shoulders now that Carter appeared to have left. Breathing out a sigh, he turned around towards the rest of the group.

"... hey, who wants to play pentagonal chess? We have 5 people!"

He appeared a little more enthusiastic than before. Before his teammates could question, he dove towards his bag. Unzipping it, there was a very fan-like object with checkered pattern on it. "Unfolding" it, he spread it out to a 5 sided figure, before appearing to lock something on the bottom of the board. Chess was glaring at him, in this weird state of disbelief and shock, while Xi curiously moved over to help set up. Playing anything right now might relieve the tension, and cutting everyone's throats right now did not seem like the wise choice. Jeson looked towards Necro and pointed to the group, a reassuring smile on his face.

"Well, okay, friend, do you know how to play pentagonal chess? I can help show the basics if you don't, but don't worry, you'll always do better than Go."

He urged his friend to go along towards the group, Jeson following himself. There were different coloured rocks of various sizes and gradients, but it was enough to fit on the board at least. These were their "pieces", because finding chess pieces in an apocalypse is the least of their concerns right now. Chess, while heavily reluctant, merely stood glaring harshly at Go before being pulled by Xi to join the game. They were in a circle around the board, as Go eagerly set up his own pieces.

"I'm definitely going to win this time."

"..."

"What?"

"Did you seriously dunk out room for supplies to bring the multiplayer chess board?!"

Unlike Chess' serious questioning, Go grinned and gave a thumbs up. Xi sighed at the two of their bantering, before looking towards Necro. Hopefully, he won't use this as an opportunity to take one of them out. That anxious thought was always on the back of his head, that any moment now, Go might actually be dead instead of in a hostage situation. But he solemnly believed that they could recruit the kid, in contrast to their own leader's thoughts. Holding out one of the oxalis-induced drinks in a cup (that Jeson gathered from the cafe) towards Necro, Xi offered the drink to him in hopes of maybe easing some more tension between them.

"This has oxalis herb in it. It's like, a really good Vitamin-C boost that kind of tastes like Lemon Sparkling water, with less sparkle and lemon."
