Realistic or Modern Together Again

Pulling up into the parking lot of the sushi place, Archer found Ryu's car in place. Though there weren't many parking spaces up front that weren't handicapped, Archer just opted on parking somewhere else. Doing one more loop around the arrays of cars, he finally found a spot not too far from them and veered into park. Killing the engine as he scoped ahead, he noticed that they were talking to some guy. He wasn't one to intrude, but then again he wasn't in a rush to eat sushi. Of all things. Unbuckling his seatbelt, Archer left the heat on for a bit [just until they were finished chatting with that guy. He turned to Yui hesitantly and took in a deep breath. Now or never. I mean, where the hell is she going to run off to? The sushi shop? "Yui-chan... I don't care if this comes off too forthright, but I need to know what's going on." His tone completely lacked the usual carefree, silly, sarcastic vibe he usually spoke with. Now, there was nothing but a stern seriousness. He was worried, and that was never a good thing.

Yui sighed, pressing her forehead to the dashboard to his car. "I had a feeling you saw though me." She said, sighing. She really hoped she didn't have to explain this. She sighed. "It's for the best." She said, neglecting to tell him what she was talking about. She tugged on her sleeves, keeping them firmly down her arms.

Yui never was the type to give a straight answer, and it always bugged him. But this was just ridiculous. Archer really wanted -no- needed to know, and yet here she was beating around the bush. Sighing in exasperation as he watched her fiddle with the sleeve of her shirt, Archer narrowed his eyes. Why is she always messing with those damned sleeves. Then it dawned on him. Quickly and firmly grabbing her wrist, making sure not to hurt her too much, Acher unveiled her arm and furrowed his brows in shock. Never had he seen so many scars and cuts in his life. "Yui..." was all he could muster up at the moment. What else was he supposed to say?

Yui felt his hand wrap around her arm. "N-no." She tried to muster out before he rolled down her sleeves. Wincing, she looked at her pale skin. She sighed heavily, her eyes welling with tears. "You just wouldn't understand." She said, pulling back her arm gently and rolling her sleeve back up to her wrist.

"So, is the one in the car your girlfriend?" Zach asked, chuckling.

"Zachary!" Ryu shouted, loud enough to be heard inside a car. He started hysterically laughing after that, and pretty much cried tears of laughter. He then got up and sat on his car trunk, noticing Archer's car.

I am a dolphin.

Ears perking up at the sound of yelling and laughter, Archer momentarily looked up to find Ryu and the guy [Zachary, I guess], playing around. It was almost enough to make him stop cornering Yui about the situation. Almost. Crossing his arms as he slid her arm out from his grasp, Archer grimaced at her simple reply. You'd be fascinated by all the things I've seen and heard. "Oh yeah? Try me." He insisted, his eyes darkening as the distance between them seemed to grow. How could she hide something like this from me?

Yui sighed, feeling the tears start to slip. "I don't know what to say." She said, her tears falling into her lap. She saw the people out in front of her and she sunk down so they couldn't see how pitiful she was, as she curled up into a ball. She had never tried to explain this before, and she felt as if the room was frozen again. Archer probably hated her now, and he was probably going to run off to his previous crush and leave her behind.

"You don't know what to say, and yet you're burying all your thoughts and emotions as we speak. That's typical." Archer huffed, remembering the last outburst she had before the group had split up. It was the first time he'd ever seen her breakdown, and it was terrifying not knowing what was going through her mind. After experiencing that, he never wanted to see any of them explode to such an extant ever again. And now it was starting all over. Contemplating on what to do as tears began to rolled down her cheeks, Archer quivered a sigh as he pushed his armrest up and scooted towards her curled, trembling body. He knew it wasn't a good idea to pry, but it was the only way to get something out of her. She hadn't talked much since they arrived, and he wasn't having it. Pulling her into an embrace as he rubbed her back soothingly, Archer shook his head. "Just tell me the truth."

Sophia couldn't help feeling left out of the conversation. It wasn't Ryu's fault, of course. Or Zachary's. They just happened to be closer to each other than Sophia was to either of them--or to anybody, for that matter. Trying to engage in the conversation, she asked Ryu, curious about his present life, "So you have a girlfriend?"

Ryu looked at Sophia. "We broke up, so currently no," he told her.

"Oh, I'm Zach, the drummer for Dead Letters, or our band," Zach told Sophia. He then held out his hand, looking around.

I am a dolphin.

Yui pressed her face into his chest, sobbing softly as she clutched onto his shirt. She stayed like that for a good while, trying to get it all out. Once she felt the courage to speak, she sniffled, pulling away a bit so as her words where not muffled by his shirt. "I just couldn't do it. After we split, the words those bullies had been saying to me sunk in. Everyone hated me, because of who I was. So I changed." She said, sniffling. "But apparently that's not good enough. And I have tried so hard, but I just want it to be over!" She cried out, holding on tight to him. Because he was the last thing she had left.

Sophia shook Zachary's hand. "I'm Sophia. I'm an old friend of Ryu's." She then turned to Ryu and said, "And sorry about your breakup."

Needless to say, Archer was taken aback by Yui's words. They hit him deeply and hard. He wasn't even sure if the rest of the group noticed, but there was an obvious change in her when the group split up. But it wasn't like nobody didn't expect it to happen. They've all been having problems getting along towards the end of the school year. Maybe it was the stress, jealousy, or boredom. Either way, it wasn't working out and they could all see it. But Archer never stopped to think about the effects. "I'm sorry, but there's absolutely no need for you to continue cutting." Archer huffed, more upset with himself and everyone else than he was at her. "You've got the gang --you've got me to lean on."

Yui shook her head. "I don't want to lean on you guys anymore. You where much better off without me." She said, her voice muffled by his shirt, which was now wet with her salty tears. She sniffled, her tears still running down her cheeks as she kept herself close to him. It was a lot warmer with him there.

Archer dismissed her ridiculous assumption with a scoff. Not really. Sure, he made a few friends after the group broke up and sure, he joined a few clubs and sports... but that was all to keep his mind off of the situation at hand. He didn't want to fix something that didn't want to be fixed and only end up hurt in the process. So he moved on. That wasn't exactly called being 'better off'. "That's not true. Even though I never showed it, I missed you guys a lot." He smiled tenuously as he ran a reassuring hand through her hair, tightening his hold just slightly.

Yui could feel his hands comb though her hair, her face pressed close to his chest in an attempt to keep her body close to his. He was like a heater to someone who barely ate and had marks on her arms.

Archer didn't hear a reply, so he only assumed that his comforting was helping at least a little. Yui's shivering had finally subsided and she didn't seem to be crying anymore. There was an awkward yet calming silence that filled that car, and he almost forgot that they were there for food. Archer was brought back to his senses when he looked over towards the front and spotted Ryu, Sophia and that other guy still caught in conversation. "Promise me you'll eat something..." He plead softly.

Yui sighed, sniffling a bit. Her eyes where read and puffy, her voice a bit hoarse from crying. She nodded a small bit. "I will try." She said, loosening her grip on him as she pulled away a bit. She really hoped no one else had seen them.

So sorry I have been gone for a while.)))

Waking up after leaning against the side of the car she ran a hand through her hair. "Oh....I...guess I fell asleep." She mumbled sleeply. Shaking her head her face became red in embarrassment for a moment. "I'm with them just for 10 minutes and I already started the sleep in the sleep over." Speaking softly. But I guess it wasn't really her fault. Not sleeping much already from the busy schedule and nightmares was probably straining her self, so for once this was good. I mean she didn't have a night mare. Walking from the back seat of the car, she shut the door and gave a small yawn, and rubbed her eyes with the back side of her left hand. "Sorry...I kinda fell asleep" looking up, she noticed Ryu and Sophie, but then someone new. Immediately she wanted to crawl back in the car, as she grew more embarrassed the second. Out of all the times she had to fall asleep why when there was someone new.

"Oh, hey," Sophia said, seeing Amaya. "No problem. Car rides always make me tired, too." Then, speaking to the whole group, she asked, "So, are we ever going inside or what?" They still had to wait for the others to get there, but they could reserve a table while they waited.

"Hold on," Ryu said, going into the restaurant. He then came out with a beeper. He told them it would beep when the table was ready.

"So Ryu, is this one your girlfriend?" Zach asked, trying not to laugh. "I'm Zach by the way. Could you tell we're in the same band?" Zach asked jokingly.

I am a dolphin.

Her face becoming red, she shook her head at the guy named Zach"noooo where just friends, Im Amaya" she giggled. Looking at the two of them, like in a studying way she nodded "yeppers I can, I listen to your guys music anyway so I know all the members." Running a hand through her hair again she asked the whole group, "so where is everyone, and where did Aleck go? Did he drive with the others?"

"Oh," Sophia said, sudden realization dawning on her. "I forgot about Aleck." She vaguely remembered greeting him and then . . . what? Did he go in the other car? Did he drive by himself? Was he still at Ryu's house? Sophia shrugged. "I'm sure he's fine," she said dismissively.

Her face becoming pale as she acted dramatic "I never said hello! OMG I'm a horrible friend, I never even saw him yet" Noticing a group of teenagers, one was wearing a t-shirt with her bands logo on it. At that moment she realized that she would be going in a restaurant with lots of people, that could be fans to really anything so she threw her hood up, and put her black baseball cap and glasses on. " eh I need to give him a hug when I see him".
