Realistic or Modern Together Again

Yui shuttered a bit silently. "Nothing really. Just going to school." She said, avoiding saying something else. Her old intuition got the better of her and she walked to the door, opening it for whoever was there. "Hi." she said quietly, looking up at Aleck. She then looked back at Sophia and stepped away from the door.

"Hi, Aleck," Sophia greeted him when she saw him on the other side of the door. She wasn't sure if the small talk was working, but she was willing to make one more attempt before giving up on the idea. "How have you been?" she asked Aleck.

He was quite surprised to see Yui, but in a good way. Unable to contain it, he hugged her, just wanting to feel her presence. "How I missed our group." He said. He pulled away, a bright and warm smile on his face. "Sophia!" He exclaimed, hugging her as well. "I've been good, but nothing can compare to the old days." He said, smiling at the girls. "How have you two been? And who sent those letters?" He ask, wanting to thank him or her.

Yui squeaked at the hug, not wanting to alarm anyone with her small body, since it was very bony. She quickly squirmed out of the hug, backing away a bit as to keep herself a safe distance. She said nothing, tossing what little excuse for bangs she had over her eyes. She clasped one hand around the pigtail, fiddling with the strands.

He looked at Yui, who squeaked and backed away. He felt embarrassed, surprising her like that. He should not have done that, well they were close friends, but that was a long time ago. Things were different now, no matter how much he hates it. "Um, did I offend you? Sorry about that." He said, apologizing to her.

Sophia had hardly noticed Yui's reaction before she was hugged as well, which was quite uncomfortable from a sitting position, but she managed to force a smile when Aleck pulled out of the hug. Then she noticed Yui, and the smile faded. Sophia looked back and forth between Yui and Aleck, wondering what was wrong.

As the house came into view up the street. The driver stopped and held the door open as she grabbed the bag filled with everything she thought you needed for a sleepover. A pillow, tank top, blanket, tooth brush and paste, pj pants..but going to a sleepover felt alien like to her. Having been years since she had last gone to one. Amaya stepped out, wearing a grey hoodie she barrowed from one of her band members, that went to her mid thigh. And a pair of yoga pants that she normally used at the gym for running. The hood up, she wore the black baseball cap they gave her, and the pair of black aviator glasses. Her pale pink, or blond, heck she didn't even know what her own hair color was, was on either side of her long enough that it went to almost her belly button. A pair of black sneakers completing the secret outfit if that is what you would call it. Kinda like a undercover outfit. Watching the car leave she looked to her left and right, making sure no one was around and made her way up to the door. Taking a deep breath, she raised her hand up to the door pausing only a moment as thoughts rolled through her mind. "What if they don't like me, I haven't changed that much after all....except for my looks....i think." Thinking back when she had long pig tails with red bows on either side causing her to giggle. Giving a firm knock to the door, she lowered her hand and waited...

Yui shook her head, denying to provide more information on the subject. She didn't want to worry them, they where the closest things to friends she had left. Everyone else called her "she who should not be named."

It hadn't been until he passed the ninth block that Archer noticed just how far the address was from his home. He remembered when he used to live closer to Ryu's place. He could practically walk there without breaking a sweat... and now that was far from the case. But in a way, it didn't bother him. It would've made for some awkward run-ins at bus-stops, especially after the group had separated ways. Sighing nervously at the thought of what would happen after stepping through that door, Archer ran his free hand through his hair, slicking it back as he focused on getting to his destination rather than psyching himself out.

Pulling up to the driveway, there were already two cars parked up front. There was a third one but it seemed to be driving away as soon as it dropped someone off. How official. He thought to himself in amusement as he parked at the neighbors' curb. Surely they wouldn't mind. He could always move it later.

Watching as the hooded figure walked up to Ryu's house and knocked on the door, Archer's breath caught a jolt at the back of his throat. Maybe he wasn't ready for this? But he couldn't back out now. His mother already offered to watch his siblings and he was already there. Killing the engine, Archer exhaled deeply as he gazed intently at the back of the person's head. She is definitely tall. Couldn't be Sophia. It's either Yui or Amaya. Groaning just a bit in reluctance, Archer grabbed his duffel bag and stepped out of the car, pressing the auto-lock on his key-chain before hesitantly walking up to the porch. "H-hey..." Archer called out, pulling on a forced smile as he waited for her to turn around. How awkward would it be if it weren't either of them?

Ryu got the door and saw the hooded uh, lady? "Amaya! Come on in!" He yelled, motioning the her to come in. The reason he yelled was because of his band's music-and they could tell it was him. He saw Archer and waved, leaving the door open. He already planned that he was going to play a song-live for them.

Hearing music on the inside she was debating if maybe she should knock harder, but then the door flew open and a face she would never mistake appeared. Seeing Ryu she smiled and gave him a huge hug. "God I missed all of you..." Hearing a voice, she turned around quickly, ready to pounce into the bush if necessary. But to her surprise.. It was...Archer.. Shock completely on her face and then joy. "Archer!" Running up she dropped her bag and gave him a hug, soft yet firm enough it wouldn't hurt. After a couple seconds she stepped back, still smiling "you look..so...different? How have you been?" Realizing she had her hood up, hat on and glasses, basically still undercover, she removed all three and ran a hand through her uniqued colored blond pale pink hair to fall against her back and other pieces to just to set on either shoulder. Thinking to her self "Is this Archer? He grew....a lot. Like a lot, muscle, height, the whole package" She giggled to herself looking down for a second and then back up "Sorry I don't mean to be so forward, I know it's been like.....forever since we last saw each other, were kinda like strangers now I guess, you just... look totally different then when I remembered you." She smiled again.

Ryu walked out. "You know Amaya, that's my band's music inside," he told her. When she hugged him, it caught him by surprise. He ruffled his own hair and dusted his shirt off, looking at them.

Looking back at Ryu, she smiled "I really really like it, you know I have been listening to your bands music for a while. My band hates it when I do, because they see you as are rivals but that's just them. I love your music, maybe even more then mine." She giggled over joyed with seeing them both it spoke the truth. "So how have you all been? Good, bad, the norm?" She smiled stepping back so she could see both of them clearly. Thinking. "Both have changed, geez, I just cant stop looking at them now, scratch that More like I have to stop looking in the past, it's been years now, obviously they are not going to be kids still" she giggled to her self again, I guess something she has always done.

Sophia noticed some people at the door. She wheeled over and saw Amaya and Archer. She smiled a little and said a soft, "Hi."

Archer's anxiety bubbled at the pit of his stomach as he approached and heard the lock of the door click. This was it, there was no turning back. And before the girl could turn around, his guess was confirmed that it was Amaya when an... unusual looking guy opened the door. I-is that Ryu? What the hell happened to his hair? Mentally scratching his head in confusion, Archer brushed off the question for now and returned his greeting with a quick wave and broadened smile. He was even more nervous to meet the others. But before he could take another step closer, he was practically tackled by Amaya and pulled into a tight yet gentle embrace. For a moment his body tensed up, but it soon gave way when he realized that they were once really close friends. But why did it seem so awkward right then? Just as he was about to speak, Ryu interrupted by calling attention to the music that was playing inside the house. No way! He's in a band? How unexpected. And then Amaya went on about her band and that's when reality had hit. They'd been separated for so long that all of this happened in the blink of an eye. He always knew that the two of them were musically apt, but he never thought this would be the outcome. "Ryu in a band. How 'bout that?" Archer chuckled just before stepping into the house with Amaya. Looking down at the sound of a quietly sweet voice, Archer's brows furrowed just slightly. But he immediately corrected himself when he realized that it was Sophia. Oh... "Hi, Sophia." Needless to say, he was taken aback by the wheelchair. Though, he didn't want to call attention to it.

Yui looked up slightly, seeing a very familiar face walk in the door. It was Archer, her former best friend. She could feel her heart race increase, looking up at him. He was a lot taller, and larger in size. She quickly looked at the floor before he could notice her. She started braiding the small pigtail she had, her face gaining a slight pink color.

"Well Archer, I'm as surprised as you are. Also, I'm a boxer, and it seems you play soccer, Messi," Ryu told him, joking. He motioned for them to get inside. Archer was all, Amaya was famous, Yui was shy, and Sophia was in a wheel chair. Wow, they seem the same, yet so different.

Walking inside with Acher and Ryu she looked around, taken back be his home. It had been so long since she had been here last. Hearing a soft voice, she smiled recognizing the voice as it was her own yet once she looked at the owner a sharp spike of sadness went through her but didn't show it physically. Sophia was in a wheelchair, she wanted to cry for her though knew she couldn't. Why and how kept running through her mind but she leaned down and gave her a warm yet gentle hug. "Sophie, I missed you soooo much". Then she stood back up, looking for her bag that strangely disappeared. Then it hit her, she left it in the front. "Dang-it, one minute guys ill be right back" she smiled and ran out the door to retrieve her bag, walking up to it when she saw it. Leaning down she picked it up with ease and stood there for a moment. "Everyone changed so much...why did I leave..was it all worth it." She whispered to her self then walked back to the door and in the house. Ruffling her hair to fix and messed up strands. Smiling at her friends "sorry forgot my bag in the front" she giggled.

Sophia frowned in confusion. Did she just say that she missed me? It didn't seem possible. She used to be so arrogant and annoying--and now she was terribly boring. Why would anyone miss her? She shook her head slightly, hating how much she was focusing on herself. She was just now seeing her best friends for the first time in years, and they all seemed to have their own lives and problems, and all Sophia could think of was herself. Yeah, self-pity is bad and everything, but I bet I'm the only one with a dead dad, she thought bitterly.

At the mention of Messi (one of Archer's idols of all time), his attention peaked at Ryu. So he is a boxer as well? How am I now just seeing this side of him? Archer always knew that Ryu was athletic and whatnot, but he didn't think he'd get into such a brutal sport. If anyone, Archer was the one most inclined to join boxing. But whatever floats his boat. Snorting with amusement at his comment, Archer rolled his eyes before shaking his head. "Whatever, Tyson. I'm not there yet, but I'm sure you'll see me playing on one of these major teams one day." He smirked before turning his attention over to a quiet girl residing in the back. He would notice that face anywhere, but it didn't seem like she wanted to look in his direction. "Yui-chan?" Archer called out to her as he slipped past the group and approached her, setting his duffel down beneath a decor table.

Yui looked up slowly, her eyes meeting his though her bangs. "H-hi." She stuttered, keeping her hands on the strand of hair as she quickly darted her vision back down. If anyone could see what was really going on underneath her façade, it would be him. It was as if now, he could see the self inflicted scars on her arms though her sleeves.

Ryu walked in, and went to his room. "I'll be right down!" He shouted over his shoulder. Running up stairs he grabbed his ukulele and amp, bringing them downstairs. "Alright, I would like to sing all of you a song once you settle in."

I am a dolphin.

Sophia was concerned for Yui. There was clearly something wrong, but Sophia didn't know how to ask about it or if she could even help. She was distracted from her thoughts when Ryu came downstairs with a ukulele and amp. She smiled a little, thinking it was sweet that he would sing a song for them.

Taking note that something was up with Yui, she gave her a wave and a smile. thinking: Was she okay? oh god it's all my fault if I never left the group in the first place maybe this would of never happend. Sophie in a wheel chair, Yui... Looking down slightly she let her smile dye for a second. "Ehh what had I done..." She said what was suppose to be in her mind but the smallest whisper. Hearing Ryu, she smiled excited was the easiest to say it. For honestly she loved his songs, even more then her own. Looking back at Sophia she smiled " so how have you been Sophia?" As she set her bag down next to the door.

Archer couldn't believe that this was Yui he was talking to. The last time he'd seen her was a few months prior to this meet-up, and even then she looked bad. But this was just terrible. She'd gotten thinner, paler and all around weak. It's bad enough that she appeared to be in a bad place in her life, and now... she won't even look at him directly. He should've kept in contact with her. Maybe this could have been avoided. Opening his mouth to speak, Archer was interrupted again. But it seemed to be for the best considering he was at a loss for words. The last thing he needed was to say the wrong thing and offend her. Clearing his throat, Archer pocketed his hands before looking over his shoulder to fine Ryu with a uke in his hands. Cocking a brow, he turned around fully so he could get a better look at this. It was strange... but so natural. He could've figured, but he always assumed that Aleck, Amaya or Yui would've been the ones performing for them. "Do yo thang, girl!" Archer called out jokingly, fist pumping to add emphasis.
