Realistic or Modern Together Again

"There's this sushi place just up the street," Ryu told him, walking out and unlocking his 1980's Chevy convertible.

I am a dolphin.

"Ooh, sushi," Sophia said with a smile. "Fancy." She wheeled toward the car. "Can you help me stand up while someone puts my chair in the car?" she asked Ryu.

(To be honest, I have no idea how people in wheelchairs get into cars, especially when both of their legs are paralyzed.)

Archer nodded in agreement with Ryu's decision, but in all honesty he was a bit disappointed. He opted against showing it though, with the risk of there being a scene and all. But he was really hoping that Amaya would ride with him. For reasons being either obvious or oblivious depending on who remembered their relationship state before the group split. But that was a lost cause. And with Yui riding with him, things were sure to get awkward. Maybe he shouldn't have offered. Walking out towards his own car, Archer realized there wouldn't have been an alternative considering Ryu had a convertible and that wouldn't seat them all. He'd never been so thankful to have Aleck riding with him like he was now. "Alright. You two can rock-paper-scissors over shotgun." He called to the two of them before unlocking the doors with the auto-lock.

Yui sighed. "I guess I will sit in the front" She said quietly, walking towards the front of his car and sliding in the back seat quietly. She shut the door softly, taking slow deep breaths. She was trying to control herself around others, but if she was just around Archer, she wouldn't be able to do it. Not in a million years.

He tried to be happy, but he just couldn't. It was nice to see all of them socializing and having fun, both how can he enjoy it when most of them doesn't even seem to notice him? Well sure, Yui and Sophia did, but once the others went in, he was ignored. He just sat down the couch, not even bothering to start a conversation. But this is nothing new, even before when the group was intact, Aleck was like the third wheel, but within a group of six. But still, he put on a smile, one that he was used to, a fake and practiced one. He heard Ryu talking about taking them out for dinner, and he was going alone in his car. He's used to all of this, but what he wasn't used to was his friends doing it to him. "Okay Ryu, where do you plan on taking us?" He ask, going inside his car.

(Sorry for the late reply. I had to go to class.)

(Daw fudge! I forgot Aleck arrived with his own car. -.- Eff it. I'm too lazy to edit. Yui can be in the passenger seat if you want. @Icefox11 )

Archer adjusted himself in his seat as he watched Aleck veer over to his own car. I guess he doesn't want to ride with us. Usually he'd be insisting about it, but he figured he could talk to Yui about a few things without having to make him feel uncomfortable about listening. Sushi wasn't exactly Archer's favorite, but it was food... and he wasn't refusing any offer at this point. He just wanted to know where this sushi place was. He hadn't been to any sushi restaurant other than the one by their school, so hopefully it was a nice change. Looking over at Yui as he set his key into the port, he sat sat quietly for a moment before speaking. "If I remember correctly, you used to love sushi." Archer started off with a casual topic, trying to ease his way into having her speak more. It was so unlike her to behave so timidly. This isn't the girl he once knew.

(I will edit it)
Yui sighed. "Yeah, I guess I did." She said, running a hand though her solid black bangs. There was almost nothing left of the old Yui inside her anymore, all the confidence being stripped away by fear and a knife. She shuttered a bit at the last thought, rubbing her arms again. She was cold, but that was normal.

Back :3 ))

Smiling Amaya was excited. Though she barley ever ate sushi, well actually never really had sushi before but her band members all love it, especially Jake. Walking over to the car, she came to a halt looking it over and she had to say, it was a really nice car. "Wow...nice car, 1980's Chevy right?." Moving closer to Sophie she smiled. "Sophie do you want to go in the front? I don't mind sitting in the back." Waiting for Ryu to come over and hold her up, she patiently waited to grab her wheel chair and put it in the back, or trunk, where ever Ryu preferred.

Sent from my sea dragon using rainbows and coconuts. :P

He didn't know what he was doing wrong. It was like every attempt he made in trying to get some dialogue going was a complete and utter failure. It was clear that he was becoming frustrated, but he made sure not to seem hostile. Yui always was the one to point out when his temper was taking over. Rhythmically tapping on the steering wheel as he waited for the others to get settled in and drive off, Archer gnawed lightly on his lower lip.

Yui saw his tension, slowly biting her lower lip. "Something is bugging you Arthur." She said, seeing right though his attempt to conceal his irritation. She knew him to well for that, and he knew it. No matter how hard she tried, it was bound to happen sometime, and that sometime might be now, but she wasn't ready. She would never be.

The frustration that had been building up until this point boiled at the pit of his stomach. He was dying to ask, but he knew better than to bring it up while there was still room for her to run out of his car and back into Ryu's place. So for that moment, and that moment only, he opted on holding back. Narrowing his eyes as he met his own reflection through the rear view mirror, Archer shook his head quickly to dismiss her observation. Of course it's bugging me, but I won't cross that line again. "Not at all. I'm just a bit antsy. I can taste the sushi already." He replied blandly.

Yui almost had the urge to snort and make a comment about how he used to complain when they went out for sushi, but she bit it back, her teeth reaching out to bite her lower lip. "Alright then, now we just have to wait.' She said, tapping her nails against her leg, waiting patiently for the other drivers to start the cars.

Ryu finished helping Sophie up and went into the front, starting his car. "Alright, let's go," he said, starting to drive the car after he got into the street. Everyone's so tense, he thought. Sure, it's been a long time, but he wanted it to be like before.

"I'm fine wherever," Sophia said to Amaya as she was helped into the front passenger seat. "Thanks, though," she said, turning around.

Once Amaya and Sophia had settled into Ryu's car, the group had taken off. Following shortly behind them, Archer looked through his rear view mirror to make sure Aleck was following. There was no way he was eating more than one sushi roll. Archer didn't mind the taste, but seafood never was his favorite anything. As expected the silence took over the ride, but Archer wasn't going to sit back quietly and endure this suffering. He leaned over and turned the radio on.

Yui flinches a bit as the radio turned on. She blushed a small bit, leaning back against the seat. She closed her eyes, trying hard to keep from shivering in his presence. She knew a long time ago that he liked someone, and it was good. For a time she worried that he would fall for her, and with the 18th coming soon, she wouldn't want to worry him longer.

Archer noticed Yui's flinch when he turned the radio but thought nothing of it. It was probably a new thing that she developed during this phase. But her shivering, however, wasn't. She must be terribly cold. Offer her your jacket! No, I'm driving. Sighing Archer quickly glanced in the back and noticed Kimi's Hello Kitty blanket still laid out on the backseat. Looking back ahead to avoid a possible accident, Archer cleared his throat before reaching back and grabbing the blanket. "Here, I'll turn the heater on too." He offered, handing the blanket to her.

Yui nodded a thanks, wrapping the blanket around her pale thin body. She didn't understand how some girls could look normal at this weight. But it would all be over soon enough. She would be gone and he could forget everything about her. They could start over with a better life. One without her in it.

Finally, they got there and Ryu parked the car, getting out and getting Sophia's wheelchair. He went to the passenger door and opened it, helping Sophia out.

Finished helping Sophia out, Ryu leaned against the car trunk and waited for the others. "I'm starving," he muttered.

I am a dolphin.

"Me too," Sophia said, thinking As always. She could hardly wait for the others to get there.

((What if I threw the person in my band in?)).

Ryu took out his sunglasses and put them on. He realized that everyone would look at his red hair. Not auburn, but literally red hair.

I am a dolphin.

(I would be fine with that.)

"That other car needs to hurry up," Sophia said jokingly after a while. She rolled up beside Ryu. "So, how are you?" she asked, trying to pass the time.

"Fine, fine. How are you?" Ryu asked, looking around. He then noticed a familiar car. "Ooh, look who's going to come," he said enthusiastically. Out from the car came Zach, the other person in Ryu's band.

"Hey, Ryu!" Zach shouted, running over. "Is that your girlfriend?" he asked, jokingly. Ryu then shook his hand.

Sophia immediately blushed. "N--no," she stammered out, not realizing that he was joking. "Just a friend."

"Sophia, he's joking," Ryu told her, blushing. Zach was always a jokester, and that's what he was doing.

I am a dolphin.
