Fantasy Those That are Hunted

Once Vanessa was off of her Amelie rolled over and puked. It came as a natural reaction with something foreign in her body. Thank god for him. That wolf really was one of her best weapons. She had to get out of here now though. She stood up Her legs wobbled for a moment but stopped once adrenaline started pumping through her body. Hopefully the wolf would keep her occupied long enough. She started running away. "Agent 562339. Where is your location?" Amelie flinched at the sudden noise in her ear piece. "I'm moving away from my target. Requesting to be evacuated." She responded. From her running she didn't even notice that the figure she ran by was her own flesh and blood. It took a moment for the agent to respond. "Request approved. Helicopter should be there soon." Now all she had to do was sit still and protect her self. It took a few minutes before she heard the chopper. A ladder dropped down and she climbed up. Once Amelie was fully in her body collapsed on the floor. Never in her career as an agent had she felt like she faced death. She was mentally and physically exhausted. "She put *breath* something in me." She managed to say before she passed out.

Alec's eyes widened when he watched his sister run by him. He had to do a double take just to make sure. yes he recognized that glow. He noticed the trail of ice that was left behind as she ran. That can't be good. He started running toward the ally Amelie ran out of. When he saw the wolf attack Vanessa he didn't even notice the damage that was done to the ally. "Hey!" He yelled. "Go! Go back to your owner!" The wolf stopped his 'attack' on Vanessa. I say 'attack' because it wasn't doing anything to her. The wolf's head snapped at Alec's voice. It breathed heavily before growling. Suddenly the ice cracked and the wolf shattered. Alec ran up to Vanessa, not even caring that half her body was in a liquid like state. "Are you ok?"

Vanessa's head spun towards the new person who approached her. Now that there didn't seem to be any immediate danger, Vanessa's expression of anger faded away as her eyes returned to normal. The whole fight was a bit of a blur to her, and she crawled slightly away from this new person slightly, a look of confusion on her face.

"I-I'm fine. J-just stay back!" she stammered, trying to collect her thoughts, as well as her form, her stomach still flexing between solid and fluid.

Alec now looked at her form. "You will not hurt me. I'm only here to help you. My name is Alec. Seeing as the one who was fighting you was an agent I assume you don't work for the government?" She squatted next to her.

When Amelie awoke she was in an infirmary at HQ. Her glossy eyes looked around noticing the IV in her pumping fluids into her body? How long have I been out? She felt a sharp pain all over. Her eyes squeezed shut. Amelie knew this pain was not caused by whatever that girl had put in her. No. This pain was caused by her body trying kill it. Ice never harmed her on her skin, it couldn't. But inside her body she could feel the cold spreading slowly trying to find the source of what Vanessa put in her. Like it had a mind of it's own. This wouldn't kill her, no, just hurt a lot. The heart monitor was making a loud beeping noise as her heart rate sped up drastically. A nurse ran and tried talking to her. Amelie gave out a scream. The nurse pressed a button and Amelie instantly felt her body go numb. Her eyes slowly started to close. Once it can't find the source it will stop. I know my ice won't spread to my blood stream and brain. Too much risk.

Vanessa had backed herself against a wall, still uncomfortable with this new person approaching her.

"Me hurt him?" she thought to herself, somewhat sceptically.

Vanessa shook her head slightly. "No..." she answered, finally bringing her stomach back to normal. "But you might work for them... Since you seem to know all about that other girl..."

It took a moment for Alec to respond, trying to figure out how to word it. "hmmm well you see I don't work for the government. In fact I do the opposite. I protect those like us who just want to be free. I just knew who she was because It's my job to know the top agents." He didn't want to tell her everything not just yet. He had to make sure she trusted him before telling her about the rebellion.

"Uh-huh." Vanessa said shortly, the cynicism clear in her voice as she slid up the wall and back to her feet. Her whole body was being swept with waves of exhaustion; partially from the running, partially from something else she couldn't quite remember. "Well, Alec... I've been screwed around a lot lately by people who say they're one thing and are actually something else... Surprisingly hypocritical of me, I guess... So excuse me if I don't take everything you say as the gospel truth."

Vanessa took a few slow steps away, her stomach tingling with ache despite having no real wounds.

"I just want to get on with my life... I don't want to be a part of this... war, or whatever is going on here..."

Alec's eyes narrowed. "Well you obviously have been putting your trust in the wrong people. " He stood back up. "If you don't believe me go to the coffee shop on 52nd street. Tell the lady working the cashier that Alec Gray sent you." He started to walk away and then stop. "And by the way Vanessa, if I wanted to take you to the government I would have a long time ago." He continued walking and turned out of site.

Amelie woke up again. It felt like days had gone by to her when only it was hours. She shifted her position so that she sat up. Sweat covered her entire body. There as a nurse next writing on a clip board next to her. "How long have I been out?" The nurse looked up. "About four hours." "Did anything come out." The nurse stopped writing her face remained passive. "No." She wrote one more thing down before hanging the clip board in front of the bed. There are a change of your clothes in the bathroom. Once you are done He wants you to go back out there and get Xavier back." Amelie glared at the nurse. "The girl forced something in me that I can't get out and he wants me to go back just to get a defected agent?" The nurse just stood there. Taking that as a yes Amelie got out of bed, slowly, as to not hurt herself. In the bathroom she decided to shower before putting on her clothes again. Maybe they would give her another partner. No she doubted that. She would just have to think of a way to get around his Illusions.

Caitlin blushed and twirled her hair with her finger, "it really wasn't that hard." Kai laughed and patted Caitlin on the back, "now for my weapon?" Caitlin walked deeper into the room and pulled out a weapon that looked like it had come out of a sci-fi movie. "Holy sh** that's mean!" Kai said and he grabbed the gun. "This gun is made specially for you," she explained, "it will suck out some chaos from inside you, and magnifies it." Kai looked at the gun and smiled. "Thanks Caitlin, I'll come visit you sometime soon," and with that, he walked out of her room and back onto the street. He bought a backpack and placed the gun inside it. "You might want to conceal that," Kai said to Xavier as he pulled his hood over his head.

Xavier smiled kindly at Caitlin and waved goodbye, following Kai out. Being very careful, he unwrapped hi hand from the gun and felt the slight tug as the needles came out. There was a soft click as the metal retreated back into the gun's handle, and Xavier looked down at his hand to inspect the many neat little holes now in his skin and -miraculously- not bleeding that bad. "That's kinda creepy still," he commented before slipping both his new gun and hand into his pocket. He pulled up his hood with his good right hand and changed his hair and eye colours to stick out less. "Any ideas of where we should go now? Or are we just going to be nomads?" He joked lightly and kicked a piece of trash on the sidewalk, totally spaced-out and lost in his own little world.

Vanessa's defiance waned slightly and she turned to speak to Alec, but he was already gone. She sighed, resting her head against the alley wall. As much as she wanted to be alone, there was no denying she would be screwed in the long run. She barely knew what was actually happening...

Vanessa pushed herself away from the wall and began walking down the street again, eventually fining the coffee shop Alec had mentioned. She waited in line for a short while before finally reaching the woman behind the counter.

"Hi, um... Alec Gray sent me?" she said uncertainly.

"Why don't we use your magical money power of yours and buy ourselves an apartment?" Kai said as he walked into a nearby building. He walked up to the man at the office, "excuse me sir, could we please purchase a room," the man looked disbelievingly at the two boys, "and you have enough money for that?" Kai looked towards Xavier expectantly.

Xavier paused for a second. "I don't know I that's a good i- Hey! Where are you going?!" He yelled when he noticed Kai had run ahead of him and gone into an apartment building. He looked at the old man, then threw Kai a glare as he pulled out several "bills", consisting of 50s and 100s. "I can pay," he said and fought the urge to smack Kai or shoot him. The man picked up the money skeptically and kept an eye on the two boys, holding up the bills one at a time to the light. After all of them had been checked he frowned slightly, confused and muttering something about "they're all real" and "damn rich kids." Xavier rolled his eyes and accepted the key the man offered him, handing it off the Kai and sliding another two 100s across the counter. "And we weren't here, right?" He said, watching the man snatch the money and stick it in his pocket before waving the boys away. Taking the key from Kai, Xavier lead the way up the stairs and unlocked a very nice and fully furnished apartment. "Man this place is nice," Xavier said, mentally comparing this place to his dorm at that the government gave him.

"Perks of being free mate," Kai said as he leaped onto the couch. He picked up the remote and flicked through the channels on the TV. Finding nothing of interest he turned the TV off and walked into the kitchen. He made himself a cup of tea and walked out onto the balcony. They were quite high up and there was a nice view from where they were. Sighing Kai took a sip from his cup of tea.

Not enough chaos....
Kai thought to himself, that needs to change.

"Hey Xavier," Kai yelled, "can you test that gun and make a chaotic illusion right there on the street?" he pointed at a spot far away. "then the government will think we are over there, and I wont be powerless and weak." Kai smiled and looked at Xavier, "aaaaand you will learn how to use the weapon effectively."

Xavier had claimed the couch after Kai moved, finding the soft cushions comfortable and yet so uncomfortable at the same time. He had a bed at the dorms, but the mattress was thin and hard, something Xavier decided right away was a very sneaky torture device. Not able to relax he got up, following Kai out onto the balcony but sitting down crossed legged on the cement. "Ok," he said, already pulling out the gun. "Sounds like fun." He smirked a little, always happy when he got to play a prank on people. Plus, it wouldn't actually hurt anyone and he was helping a friend, if Kai was a friend.

Taking a deep breath in, Xavier let go of his focus on his appearance and as the colours faded from his hair and eyes, a version of him and Kai strolled around the corner and down the block, both holding identical guns. The gun in Xavier's hand had already stuck him again, drawing his power to make the fakes solid. "Let's make this interesting," Xavier mused and directed the fakes to the middle of the street, where "Kai" shot the tires of a passing car and "Xavier" fired his gun into an empty electronic shop window, TVs and the likes breaking when real bullets hit. Turning to look up at the real Kai, Xavier asked, "Anything you'd like to do that wouldn't kill an innocent?"

A few hours later, Eloarch was sitting in a small minijet, being debriefed by Cassandra. "Alright, I'll provide a recap of events. Previously, a team of two agents was sent out to retrieve two targets. However, one agent was wounded, the the other deserted and escaped with one of the targets, and the last target has disappeared. This is where you come in. Your task is to secure the former agent and Target A. Now, keep in mind, both are powerful Gifted individuals. The agent can create illusions, and the target draws power from the chaos around him to strengthen himself." Cassandra realized she was being rather discouraging for the handsome man's first mission back from death, as it were. So, she quickly added, "Of course, you're the strongest there has ever been, so I have complete faith in you." Hearing that vote of confidence from the beautiful lady, Eloarch smiled. "I'm really glad to hear you say that. I guess I'll get going then." He waved, smiling broadly, and then jumped out of the back of the plane, which had opened during their conversation. Cassandra caught herself slightly gaping, although she wasn't sure if it was due to his smile or the fact tat he'd just fallen out of a plane without a parachute or any form of propulsion. Well... her blush indicated the former, but she decided to ignore that.

Meanwhile, Eloarch had propelled himself slowly, still getting used to his powers again. He was by no means inept, but he wanted to reacclimate himself before he attempted anything reckless, as he was known for. Land gently on a rooftop, he focused his power on the movement of the air molecules. By increasing and decreasing the motion of particles, he could change the velocity of the sound reaching his ears, meaning he could hear further and more accurately. After checking a few directions, he heard what he was looking for on a police scanner. "Dispatch, we have an emergency. Two armed men are terrorizing the corner of 7th and Main. Requesting backup." Orienting himself, Eloarch stepped of the building, allowing himself to fall a few meters before zooming off to the location the police were dispatched to. Within less than a minute, he arrived landing directly in front of the duo. "Stop! I need you to cease your disruptive actions immediately. Otherwise, I will be forced to... well, to use force." he spoke casually, trying to talk them out of doing anything foolish before he had to beath them down.

Kai smiled, "is there any way you could, like, i dunno, transport part of our minds down there?" Kai smiled, "so it's like we are down there? Or are your powers incapable of that?" It was phrased as a question, but Kai's tone indicated it as a challenge. " This Xavier guy was fun to have around. They could sure cause a lot of havoc. Kai began to think of all the things he could do, all the chaos he could create.

Xavier glanced up at Kai with a glare. "Don't insult me, I'm not that weak," he commented dryly before closing his eyes. Mentally, he saw little strings -to put simply- coming from everyone. "Souls" or whatever, and tied a small thread from him and Kai to their duplicates, though he still had control over both if he needed.

"It'll be like a puppet," he said, blinking his eyes to refocus on reality. He watched from his balcony and tilted his head slightly, the fake Xavier on the street doing the same. "You're dead," Xavier whispered, and again the fake did the same but in a louder, more natural voice. "You got killed by the voice inside your head; the monster that you try to hide behind a badge. You don't belong here, even among a group of freaks you're a freak. You had your poor old partner Amilie kill you, and yet you don't have the decency to stay dead for her. Now she'll have to mourn you twice, if she does at all when you die again." During the monologue, "Xavier" had moved around and stood on one side of the man, "Kai" on the other and both out of arms range. Leveling his gun at the undead agent, Xavier grinned and looked at Kai both on the balcony and street. "Hey, this is like a zombie game. How many points for a headshot you think?"

Eloarch's face remained impassive, although he wasn't quite sure what the guy was on about. "Obviously I didn't die, smart one. I'm not sure what your referring to with whole "monster inside my head" bit, or who in the world this Amelie person is, but I can assure you, I won't die. At least not by the likes of you two." Seeing the gun leveled at his head, he actually chuckled, almost doubling over in laughter for a moment before regaining himself. "Oh, I'm sorry. Do forgive me, yeah? It's just been so ridiculously long since anyone has pointed a gun at me, I almost forgot how laughable it is staring down the barrel of one." Motioning with his hand, he waved, as if giving the "go ahead" signal. However, suddenly, he stopped, looking at the one holding the gun directly in the eye. "You... You feel wrong. The vectors in your body are all wrong." Narrowing his eyes in realization, speaking harshly, "You must be the illusion man, meaning chaos boy would be that other guy. Except... these things aren't you at all, are they?" Without waiting for a response, Eloarch disregarded the illusions before him, instead turning his head to scrutinize the surrounding area and buildings, changing the light vectors to allow for further vision..

"Motherf***er!" The illusion Kai yelled and punched the agent in the face, "feel like an illusion now you undead freak?" Kai slapped him again, stopping him from scanning the nearby buildings. Kai fired a few shots in the air and felt chaos energy flow into him. He punched the agent again, this time transferring some of the chaos energy, through the illusion and into the punch.

Guess what!? I use Tapatalk as well!!!

Both Xaviers scowled at the man, thinking hard. 'But this was the guy, wasn't it?' Xavier asked himself and sent a silent, questioning look at Kai, wondering if the other boy was thinking the same. Making sure he was out of site from the street and where the duplicates were standing two blocks down, Xavier closed his eyes and focused solely on the "Xavier" in the street. "Don't turn your back to me," he said. "I'm not some petty illusion like you think I am." With that, he stepped back and let Kai attack the man, calling up some illusions like wolves and hyenas that weren't solid, just to try and keep the attention away from the balcony. Making a show of it, Xavier lifted his hand and a version of Amelie appeared from a building, walking out like she was investigating the noise, falling to the street and screaming in her voice as the animals converged and attacked her. If it was the man from before, he would remember something, and that might just be more fun to watch him become un-brainwashed than to simply shoot him. "Aren't you going to save her? She's dying," he said in a childish voice, smirking as the "Amelie" screamed out for the man's help.

Eloarch had to admit, the first punch hurt. Of course, now that he'd been hit, he was allowed to use force, and use force he did. He brushed off the slap like it was nothing, understanding that the desparate guy was just trying to buy time by stopping him from scanning for the real versions of the targets. However, just because he couldn't search with his eyes didn't mean he couldn't search at all. Eloarch attuned his hearing to search solely for his targets, meaning the he could only see, not hear, the chaos boy. Of course, he didn't need to hear him to beat him down. Seeing the boy shoot his gun, he instantly realized that the boy was drawing chaos energy, a thought which was confirmed when the boy threw a punch infused with the energy. Eloarch caught it with a small degree of difficulty. "Well, well. Seems like the illusions can play after all. And your chaos power isn't half bad. But, I'm on a different level." With that, he reversed the gravity vectors on the boy. No matter how strong the boy got, he would never become massless, meaning Eloarch's gravity attacks would be unaffected. Lifting the boy into the air, he slammed the boy into the side of the building a few blocks away, quickly switching his attention to the second illusion.

What he saw was unexpected; there was a woman being attacked by all variety of feral animals, but Eloarch could tell it was just an illusion. He turned to the boy, saying, "Illusions again? Really? And what is an illusion of a nameless girl being attacked by animals going to do to me? I'd don't have to help her, you know. I'd just as soon let her die if it means the completion of my mission." In a flash, he appeared in front of the illusion and lifted it off the ground by its throat, whispering to it, "Let me fill you in on a little secret. My employers used to call me the Absolute King? Why, you ask? It's simple really. I never failed a mission, and I won't start now." With that, he stabbed his arm directly through the illusion, using air molecules to create a "blade" on his arm. Then, he vibrated the molecules of the illusion's body, effectively dispelling it into dust in the air.

Xavier flinched, feeling a smaller, dull sort of pain front both illusions. He quickly brushed it off though when the man picked him up, and chuckled a little. Grabbing hold of the man's arm to keep it from moving, "Xavier" smirked and quietly said, "You really don't remember, do you. Such a shame, if we could've just talked I might have told you about everything, about ho-" he was cut short when the illusion disappeared, and a gust of wind blew all the other illusions away like dust in the wind.

Back on the balcony, Xavier scooted back just a little more and raised a finger to his lips, warning Kai to be silent and still. Focusing on just him and Kai, Xavier made them appear invisible, actually tricking the light waves to pass through them so it looked like they weren't there.

The woman stared at Vanessa before walking over to the front door and changing the sign to close and locked up. Once returned to the cashier the woman pressed a button and a door popped out of the empty space on the wall. When the door fully opened you saw an elevator. "Follow me." The woman said. She pressed the down button. Yes down. From the ground floor. The elevator shut and went down. It took a few minutes before they opened again revealing what looked like an office floor. There was a bunch of chit chat going on as people, most Vanessa's age some older, did work on their computers. There was another elevator across the floor that you could tell only went down by the single arrow pointing downwards on it. "Welcome to the rebellion. Doesn't look like much from this floor. But sleeping quarters, training floor, and the rec room are on the floors below. Alec Is in that back office to your left. The really big one. Kind of hard to miss."

Amelie got on the rooftop and into the helicopter. A secretary sat across from her. "Lucky for you I hae been told there is another agent that was sent on this mission. I don't know who it is but I guess you will find out." She flipped through the notes. "Your job is only to retrieve the defected agent, and if spotted the girl. the boss wants to know what that liquid she put into you does. She was last spotted entering a coffee shop." Amelie rolled her eyes. What is with people and coffee? Amelie thought for a moment. Why else did that sound familiar. "Drop me off as close as you can to Xavier. I would rather deal with the girl later." She put the headset in her ear. Since she though they gave her partner one. The secretary looked up at her. "You will only be needed that to contact us. The other agent does not have one." Amelie sighed. They expect her to do a mission and can't even get in contact with him/her. The helicopter dropped her off on top of a building that was a few blocks away from where her target was suspected to be. "Good luck Agent Amelie. We want you back safe and sound." Amelie rolled her eyes at this. She highly doubted they truly wanted that. All they wanted was her target. Once she landed on the ground the helicopter flew off. Opening both her palms ice started to form into two birds. "Go find me the boy." They flew off in different directions.

Vanessa was slightly awestruck by what was being shown to her, but the familiar sense of apprehension was washing over her again.

"Thanks..." she said to the lady, setting off to find Alec's office.

"The rebellion." Vanessa thought as she walked down the hallway. "Of course I've joined the rebellion... And of course there's a freaking training floor... Who are these people supposed to be? X-men?!"

Vanessa soon found the doors the lady had mentioned, correctly described as unmissable, and was contemplating whether to knock or turn back the way she had come when they opened on their own and she found herself looking at Alec in the large room.

Vanessa stood there in a moment of awkward silence.

"So... The rebellion, huh...?" she finally managed to say.

Alec was looking over some files at his desk. He looked up when Vanessa talked. He smiled. "I know, cheesy right? But somebody has to do it." He set the files down and stood up. "I started this place a few years after my sister left us for them. I thought, what better way to bring her back then by destroying what she works for? Probably not the best way of thinking but people wanted freedom either way and that's how this place came to be."

A bird flew back and circled over her head before heading towards the direction of Xavier and Kai. Amelie started running. To across from building to building she would make walkways of ice. It took her a while to get there since, in a way, her body was still recovering. Not to mention the death of her old teammate was still fresh in her mind. And she was the one who caused it. She stopped once she heard commotion on the ground where that building stood. Nearby she saw her bird flying over, what she saw, was nothing. In reality the bird could sense the two boys. She held her palm out and the put it into a fit cause the bird to shatters. Wonder why it did that. She shrugged it off and looked for the fire escape to take that down. Once in the alley a wolf formed next to her. "Let's hope this will turn out better than last time." She mumbled. Walking out into the streets she froze. No her eyes had to be deceiving her. How could he be here? He was dead. Must be an illusion. He can't be real. The wolf nudge her and when she didn't moved it barked. Amelie's mind was reeling. Not really paying attention. All she could do was figure out how somebody, who looked just like Eloarch, was here.
