At the meeting of the Hoarwell and Bruinen rivers.

Paton used a hard light construct to pull them ashore before the tide took them further downstream.

They are now just downstream of Riverdell and are just as close to Eregion.

Paton points at Eregion on the map after he unrolled it.

''Not a bad idea. Safe, peaceful...your thoughts?'' he clambered off the branch and onto land.

Moon got onto the bank and stretched gratefully. "It certainly looks quiet. Of course looks can be deceiving, but I like it here." He looked at the map and then around them. "Should we make a fire?" He asked, walking away from the river.

Glimmer followed Moon onto the bank. "You guys coming?" She asked Toxin and Paton. She knelt down and smelled a handful of grass. "Hmm, seems nice enough around here. She looked back towards where Rivendell would be. "It doesn't really look that homely from here, does it?" She said, not particularly expecting an answer.

Toxin helped Paton off the branch.

''Sure, a fire to get us a little dryer would be good. I need to sleep off this damn bruising.'' Toxin sat down on the bank.

Paton pulled the branch onto the land and began to chop away at it with his sword and some hard light shapes.

He threw what he cut off at Moons feet before turning back to the branch and his work.

Toxin got up and walked toward the pile of wood, grabbing the map on the way. He unraveled it and tried to figure out where they were.

''So, Moon...still up for Rivendell? ''

Moon made a small stack of wood for later then made the fire with the rest. He went over and sat near Toxin. "Rivendell? Seriously? Absolutely! We're going to Rivendell! Excuse me, I have to go celebrate for a minute." He said, getting up and running down stream.

Glimmer shook her head at Moon. "He has some serious issues. So why do you want to go to Rivendell all of a sudden? Did Moony finally win you over?" She asked, pushing Toxin playfully.

''Well, we can now, so why not? We can always try and get some supplies too.'' Toxin looked down at the map.

''It's not like we have that many options anyway. Eregion, Rivendell or the High pass are all thats available to us realistically. As much as Eregion would be amazing to see, Moon would probably never shut up about passing Rivendell, so.'' he passes the map to Glimmer.

Paton continued to cut the Ent branch, shaping it to his design.

Glimmer took the map and studied it for a bit. "Yep, so Rivendell then. Should we start tomorrow or should we stay here for a little while?" She asked, looking around.

Moon came running back into camp and hugged Toxin from behind. "Thank you! You are a good man. Thanks!" He suddenly realized what he was doing and let go. "Yeah, okay then, um.....I'll be back, again." He said, hurrying off again.

''Ahh, you're welcome mate.'' Toxin took his arrows out and studied them for a while, making sure none had been damaged from the fight. Once done, he did the same to the bow. Both were fine. He reached forward and lit the sticks.

Paton, happy with his work, lifted the large wooden slab and held it by the handle carved into its back. The shield was rectangular and, when put on the ground could match Paton in size. It was heavy and made him slow, but for a free weapon, it would do.

Glimmer chuckled quietly when Moon hugged Toxin. "Well, that was interesting. Ooh, nice shield, Paton. It's very....big." She said, when she caught sight of his shield.

Moon soon made his way back to camp. "I like your shield Paton. You did a good job making it." He said, going to sit on the extra wood. He grabbed a small log and drew one of his short swords. He began to whittle it into a sloppy looking miniature flower.

Paton walked to the fire holding the shield and then lay on it. It felt nice. It was wet. He went to sleep.

Toxin watched Paton.

''Well, I'm going to get some target practice done. Let me know if anything happens.''

and with that, Toxin went towards the closes clump of trees to practice.

Glimmer smiled. "Okay." She got up and threw a blanket over Paton then tossed one to Moon. "Good night fellas." She said, laying down on a patch of thick grass.

Moon yawned then sheathed his knife and laid down, getting cozy under the blanket.

After seeing the others go to sleep, Toxin fired a few more rounds before he clambered up into a tree and went to sleep.

The sun sets and then rises. The next morning begins.

Moon woke up with a jerk but a quick glance around the camp told him that everything was fine. He took care of the fire and made food before waking Glimmer and Paton. "Hey, guys it's morning." He said, shaking each one of them. While they woke up he went and washed his face in the river to wake up all of the way.

Glimmer groaned and waved Moon away. "I'm not an early morning person, leave me alone." She said, her voice still rough from sleep. She finally worked up the energy to sit up and open her eyes. Moon was gone but breakfast was waiting not far from the fire. She quickly fixed her outfit with magic then began to eat.

Paton woke and got up. He stretched and then, noticing how dry and hot it was, walked into the river to cool off.

Toxin, hearing the noise of people moving about, woke. ''...maybe just 5 more minutes.'' he said, closing his eyes and nodding off for a little longer.

Moon pulled his face out of the water to see Paton going in. He shook his head and smiled. He went back to camp and saw Glimmer alone. He sat down on the opposite side of the fire and began to eat, constantly scanning the surrounding area.

Glimmer finished eating and cleaned up then began sharpening her spear.

Waking up, again, Toxin clambered down the tree and made his way to the camp.

He grabbed a bowl of food and ate.

''So, did you two have anything to say about our rout?''

Moon greeted Toxin with a small wave as he set aside his bowl. "Nope, not really. Although I was wondering if we how we were going to avoid Mirkwood or if we were going to go through it." He said, following Glimmer's example and sharpening his sword.

Glimmer looked up as Toxin appeared then returned to sharpening her spear. "I may have questions or comments later but for now I'm good." She said, finishing her spear and beginning to polish her wand.

''Mirkwood ...humm. Well, lets deal with that when we're closer.'' Toxin stood up and went to the river.

''Come on you big as fish. Walkies!!!'' Toxin smirked as he spoke.

Paton walked out of the water and walked up to Toxin, dripping on his boots.

''Oh, come on! I just got those dry.'' Toxin shook the water off as Paton walked to his shield. Picking it up, he walked to the fire to dry off.

''Right, ready when you are.'' said Toxin as he arrived back at the fire.

Moon put his weapons away with a snap then stood up and stretched. "I'm ready too." He said.

Glimmer gathered everything up and jammed it into her pack. "Okay," she sighed, "I'm ready."

Traveling up the river, they get half way to Rivendell before they come across a quarry like space full of a mix of large and small boulders and around a dozen trees. They make camp with the stream almost out of view downhill from them.

Toxin stretched and sat down on a medium sized boulder.

''Well, interesting scenery huh? Shame about us having found it at night...'' he got up after having growing increasingly discomforted on the boulder.

Paton stood leaning his shield leaning on his side as he stared at the river.

"Hmm...Looks like giants were playing catch here or something." Moon said trying to get comfy on a moss cover boulder.

Glimmer sat on blankets in a small space between two boulders. "Do you think it will be safe for the night?" She asked, trying to see around the boulders.

''Well, I don't see anything dangerous, just a few hundred boulders.'' Toxin looked around a bit, concerned by Glimmers question.

Paton lay his shield down and used it as a bed. He nodded to the others as he got down and then he went to sleep.

Moon nodded goodnight too and curled up under a blanket Glimmer tossed him.

Glimmer covered Paton in one of the thinner blankets, having noticed that he never like to be too warm. She went back to where Toxin was standing. "Do you want me to make a fire?" She offered, gesturing to her wand.

Toxin felt uneasy, as if they were being watched.

''Not enough trees or sticks here to make one. Sun's still up, so we're good for a while.'' he pulled himself back onto the boulder and drew his bow out.

''Get some sleep, but be ready...just in case.''

Glimmer grinned. "I guess you don't know many mages, do you?" She asked, pulling out her wand and murmuring a spell. A small, but warm ball of light appeared and hovered over their heads. "Let me know if it gets to warm." She said, curling up on the ground and trying to fall asleep.

Toxin stayed awake for a while. Alone and bored, he decided to sleep.

As the sun goes down, the sound of boulders rolling around comes from the darkness of the quarry.

It grows louder.

Toxin awoke, uncomfortable on his boulder. He listened to the sound and went to wake Paton.

Paton woke and listend to the darkness.

''Wake the others. I hate when I'm right.'' Toxin and Paton went to their companions, Toxin waking Glimmer and Paton waking Moon.

''Get up...somethings coming.'' Says Toxin.

Paton stood on Moons foot.
