"Well if we go by the Trollshaws we would get to see Rivendall, hopefully. Rivendall would be nice. I've always wanted to see Rivendall. Rivendall is supposed to be really nice. I love the idea of seeing Rivendall." Moon said, trailing off in a dreamy sort of voice.

"Enough about Rivendall! Anyway, if we go by the Trollshaws we would have to go through Mirkwood. If we followed the Hoarwell we could easily go around without adding too much time to our journey. On the other hand going through Mirkwood would be so much more dangerous, which sounds great." Glimmer frowned in concentration. "I really don't know.....Would Paton have a preference, do you think?" She asked, at a loss for which way to go.

''...I think he would want to take the river. So would I. You two seem very confident we would make it out of Trollwood. You know, the place littered with Trolls. Big things so fat an arrow, sword or pretty much any weapon is less than a thorn in their side. Sunlight can beat them, but with the forest foliage being as thick as it is, we'd be hacking at it from dawn till dusk before we made a sizable shaft for the light. But, if you two think you can handle it...'' Toxin walked over to the river, picked up some pebbles and threw them in, hoping to grab Patons attention.

Moon sighed dramatically. "So no Rivendall?" He asked in a depressed voice. "Well, I'll get ready then." He grabbed his water container and went to refill it in the river.

"I suppose the trolls would be a bit difficult, although it would be great to be one of the only people to ever come out of Mirkwood alive.....Assuming of course we did make it out alive. At least following Hoarwell we will have water for a long time." Glimmer swung her pack onto her back. "Oh, we are going to leave now, right? I mean, as soon as Paton gets out of the river and Moon finishes mourning the fact that Rivendall isn't in his future."

''For god's sake Moon, if you want to go to Rivendall so much, we could just go towards Rohan and then back up via the Bruinen for a safe, if not much longer, journey.'' Toxin grabbed some rocks now, throwing them into the river with quite a bit of effort behind them.

"Sorry.....Elf habit." He said quietly, putting his water thing back and shouldering his bag.

"Need help?" Glimmer asked, picking up some more rocks.

Paton walked out of the stream on the other side of the lake.

''Right then, let's go ask him what his view on the journey is.''

Toxin dropped the rocks and walked across the bridge to paton.

Moon and Glimmer both followed Toxin over the bridge. "What is it with his obsession with the water, anyway?" Moon asked.

Toxin looked back.

''You think I know? He seems to like just being in the stuff.''

Paton walked towards the bridge and looked at the group. He then turned to look at the forest behind him. The pathway that was etched into it has long since been used and the dense foliage stopped light from entering the wood at all. It was a kingdom of darkness with only a few branches visible.

Paton drew his long dagger and waited for the others.

Toxin stopped.

''Paton? What do you hear?''

Moon took a couple silent steps towards the forest and listened too. He drew his sword quietly and stayed alert.

Glimmer's hand hovered over her wand as she waited quietly.

Paton rushed the tree immediately next to him and swung the sword at the bark.

It lodged itself in the trees bark. Unable to pull it free, Paton rushed back behind Toxin.

''The fuck are yo-'' Toxin's sentence was cut short as the Ent turned to face the group.

The ent moves towards the bridge.

''You should have played stupid, idiot thing!''

Toxin drew his bow as he stepped back onto the bridge.

Moon backed onto the bridge alongside Toxin. "I thought Ents were friendly?" He said, eyeing the Ent warily.

Glimmer drew her wand and pointed it at the Ent. "Just out of curiosity, do we have a plan for how to deal with this?" She asked.

''I thought so too but apparently Paton found a bad one. Thanks buddy.''

''None may passes me. I am no Ent. Ent were taught by tree folk. I was taught by Uruk. I speak better. I am better. I am Superior!'' shouted the Ent as he continued to walk towards the bridge.

''Ok, I have an idea.''

Toxin turned and ran back toward Moon.

''We get him on the bridge, then we cut off an arm and use it to float down the stream, sound good?'' Toxin turned back towards the Ent now and took aim anew.

Paton sent out a hard light beam aiming for his sword.

The Ent continued to walk forward but...

still evaded the beam.

''Pathetic. I shall enjoy ripping your limbs from your center.''

Moon nodded. "Got it. Glimmer get back on the bridge! We have a plan!" He shouted over the Ent's noise. He readied his sword.

Glimmer backed up until she was beside Toxin and Moon. "What is the plan?" She asked, backing away as the Ent got closer. She shouted a spell to bring Paton's sword to her.

The spell loosened the sword, but it remained stuck.

''I'm gonna keep this as a warning to other. Now...DIE!''

The Ent swung one of his large branches at Paton.

Paton, failing to dodge the branch, is hit by it and sent flying into the stream.

''Now for you lot!'' cried the Ent, walking forward so that the same branch came back at the three that remained on the bridge.

Toxin, jumping towards the branch, fails to grab hold of it and is sent into the side of the bridge, cracking it's construction and causing him to bruise his upper back quite heavily.

Moon ran at the Ent and swung his sword at the branch.

Glimmer let out a small scream as Paton fell in the stream and Toxin was thrown into the side of the bridge. "Toxin, are you okay?" She asked, trying to get closer to him without being within hitting range of the Ent.

''Jesus bloody christ. That fu#¬·r don't pull his punches.

Moon is hit and sent flying into the wall next to Toxin.

''Run away whilst I let you little things.'' the Ent raised his branch above his head as a warning.

Toxin pulls himself to his feet.

Moon gasped as he hit the wall. "How exactly were you expecting to pull your plan off?" He asked Toxin as he struggled to his feet.

"Bloody hell! Do I have to do it myself?" Glimmer said, exasperated. She shouted a spell to temporarily paralyze the Ent.

[dice]4623[/dice]

Critical.

The Ent froze in place. His eyes did not blink, not his lips draw in breath. Slowly, due to his arm being raised, he tilted back, and back, and back, until he had fallen.

''Bloody hell, why didn't you do that sooner, like, I don't know, BEFORE HE HIT ME...US!?!?'' displeased, Toxin walked over to the Ent and pulled Paton's sword out of its bark.

''Is it dead?'' he asked, turning back to look at Glimmer.

Paton walked out of the water and over the the Ent. He kicked it and then went to Toxin and took his sword back, sheathed it, and turned to look at the forest once more.

Glimmer chuckled. "Sorry, I thought the big manly men had it under control. And, no, he isn't dead he is temporarily paralyzed, unless he can't breathe in which case...." She went over and studied the Ent close up. "Nope, he is alive for now. Do you want me to kill him? Or maybe one of you guys could do it to refill your egos." She said with a 'sweet' grin.

Moon groaned. "Are we going to go now or shall we stick around for a while until the princess's magic stops working?" He asked, putting his sword in it's sheath.

''Well, Ent hide might not be a bad thing to have fi we're going down river. I usually don't like drowning.'' Toxin smirked.

Paton looked at the others, smiled, and then created a hard light axe the size of man and brought it down on the Ent's branch.

It went a little less than half way through, so it came down again, and then a third time.

Finally, the branch was free of the Ent. Paton smiled again, putting one foot on the branch and leaning on it, as if a conquistador.

Glimmer smiled. "Are we ready to go then?" She asked, sticking her wand back in her belt.

Moon went over and looked at the Ent. "Sorry about that, but I think you know you deserved it. Besides I'm sure you can grow it back. Just make sure not to be so rude again, okay?" He said quietly, not really expecting a response, but it made him feel better anyway. "Yeah, um, so are we just going to leave him here?" He asked, going back to stand with them.

Paton's smile vanished at seeing his ''companions'' lack of action. He looked back to the Ent.

He closed his eyes.

Paton imagined a hard, sharp, long sword dangling above the fallen Ent. It was so light that the air could take it away.

But Paton imagined it driving itself into the Ent and then into the ground below it.

When he opened his eyes, he saw the sword vanish and the Ent dead.

''...well shit. You're not right, are you Paton?'' Toxin walked towards his friend.

''There was no need for that.''

Paton shrugged and began dragging the branch towards the water.

Moon' jaw dropped as he stared at the dead Ent. "But---it---he---just----WHY?!" He cried, motioning towards the Ent at a loss for words.

"Get over it Moon. That Ent was dangerous, it's not a big deal. Now get moving." Glimmer said, pushing Moon towards the river bank.

Paton was up to his chest in the water by the time he had finally dragged the whole branch into the stream.

Toxin climbed onto the branch as best he could while leaving space for the others, yet he had a leg still in the water.

''Come on then!'' he held onto the river bank so that they did not float away without the rest of the company.

Moon took one last look at the Ent then climbed onto the branch. He tucked his knees to his chest to keep them out of the water. His slid over to make room for Glimmer.

Glimmer stepped carefully onto the branch and sat down. "Onwards to adventure." She said to herself. She trailed her hand in the water, trying to ignore how closely they had to sit.
