A few hours later.

Toxin woke to see Glimmer doing some magic...stuff.

''Alright, get some sleep then. I'll take my turn.''

"Oh, thanks." Glimmer said getting up and stretching. Out of the corner of her eye she saw that Moon was still pink. She quickly turned him back to normal. "That was....um, that is not what it looked like. I was just....never mind." She said, walking to the far side of the boulder where Toxin couldn't see her.

Toxin stared at the stars.

Morning arrives.

Toxin decided to have some fun. He walked over to Paton and, as quietly as he could, began to push the shield towards the river.

Paton didn't notice.

Glimmer cracked her eyes open. "Toxin.....What are you doing?" She asked sleepily.

Moon rolled over and fell off of the boulder. "Oof.....Ouch." He grumbled, sitting up and rubbing his head. He opened his eyes and saw Toxin about to dunk Paton in the river. He grinned and contemplated helping, but decided it would be too much work to get up just then.

Toxin slid Paton's shield into the river and, by extension, Paton.

The shield traveled out a few meters before tipping Paton into the water and going under itself.

A few seconds later, Paton walked out of the water holding the shield. He looked at Toxin, then at the others. He shook the water off him and returned to camp, dragging the shield.

''...I thought it would have been funnier.''

When Paton looked at him, Moon pointed his finger at Toxin, making sure that he would get all of the blame.

Glimmer shook her head. "You guys have serious issues. Are any of you hungry or should we just get going?" She asked, standing up fixing her apparel.

The wind was whistling through the branches. Talvin just came from the road East. His band of mercenaries breaking camp down the river (Well he didnt know if five men classed as a band or not). In any case, he disbanded the group after that scuffle with one of the caravans. He knew Gondor would pick up the trail later, so they couldnt stay too long and a group of 6 men armed to the teeth wouldnt go unnoticed. Still, the women and children spared wouldnt reach another town unless cavalry come by, and they dont tend to pay attention to peasantry.

It was nice to have a break from it all. Talvin needed to remind himself about more of the god in the world than the bad. The sword started whispering again. Magic. One touched by magic. A wizard? He picked up his rucksack with his spoils and such, following the river around the bend. He saw them. Three people. No, four. One was walking away carrying a shield. Drenched in water. He drop it in the river? At least he could ask directions.

"Pardon me!" He called, walking closer to them. Keeping his sword hidden under the cloak. "Do you know where the closest market town might be?"

Glimmer jumped and wheeled around, simultaneously pulling out her wand. "Don't move." She commanded. "Toxin, are we expecting company?" She called over her shoulder.

Moon jerked his head up when someone walked into the camp. He put his hand on his sword, but didn't know if he should draw it. He looked at Toxin, silently echoing Glimmer's question.

"Whoa there!" He said with his hands up. "I'm just asking for directions."

A stick in her hand. A tool of magic. A wand maybe. The girl spoke with a commanding tone. Toxin? The leader maybe.

"Ok, let me start again. My name is Marius." He didnt want to use his real name. If they're that edgy with company, a wanted man in some parts might not be the best companion right now. "I just got back from a journey East and wanted to resupply in the next town."

Glimmer didn't move. "Toxin? Is this Marius a friend?" She asked, reluctant to let her guard down.

Moon walked closer to Glimmer. "Relax Glimm, he probably didn't mean to startle us." He said in an undertone.

''Never seen him before.'' Toxin approached the man. His armour and weaponry made Toxin feel uneasy, but he was outnumbered and, with Glimmer at the ready, outmatched.

''Well, we're heading to Rivendell. We should reach it by nightfall. Would you care to accompany us?'' Toxin looked at Paton and gave him a signal. If this Marius tried anything, he'd be downed with a command.

Paton readied the idea. A simple slice of hard light cutting at the guy would do. He waited, ready.

"Rivendell? That's one of the elven settlements isnt it?" He looked back at the others on their guard. They did not like visitors. Still, if he pulled his weight on the journey, he doubted that they'd mind his company. "In that case, I'd be more than happy to come along. I'll try not to be a bother to you on the way."

Elven magics will not be kindly to you. The sword kept whispering now and then, but Talvin blocked it out. He saw a few stern looks. It will take time to warm up to them.

''Alright then, shall we?'' Toxin took out the map, making sure they would venture off in the right direction.

Paton looked around and saw what seemed to be an obliterated boulder. One of the chunks near him resembled a face of sort. He looked around some more, remembering that the strange man had two things in his hands.

Glimmer lowered her wand and went back towards the camp, making her light ball disappear. "I'll make breakfast, unless you'd rather get an early start." She said, putting her wand away but not really relaxing.

Moon took his hand off of his sword hilt, trying to appear less on edge. "How many more days do you think it will take before we reach Rivendell?" He asked Toxin.

"With pleasure." Talvin kept his tone stable. All the looks were making him uncomfortable. Was it his weaponry? Did they think him to rob them? He wouldnt blame them if they thought that, considering his last few days of robbing Gondor. That said, he didnt want to hang around Rivendell too long. Elven eyes see more than what people show. And he didnt want people to check him either.

"So what's bringing you to an Elven settlement if you dont mind me asking?"

Moon pulled back his hair to reveal his slightly pointed ears. "I'm an elf. It's kind of an elf thing to want to visit Rivendell. Of course Toxin ultimately is the one that decides." He said, letting his hair cover his ears again.

Talvin's eyes widened slightly in surprise when he saw the ears. "Oh! Sorry, I didnt notice. Is Rivendell your home? Or do you come from the Woodland realm near Mirkwood?"

''And it shouldn't take more than a day. Provided everything goes smoothly, we could be there by nightfall.'' He folded up the map and looked to the others.

''Ok then, lets go.'' he started to walk North-East along the bank of Bruinen.

Paton saw nothing in the rubble, and so followed Toxin.

Moon shrugged. "It's okay, lots of people miss it. And I'm a wood elf, at least, I was raised by wood elves. Thanks, Toxin, I'm not good at judging distances." He said, following Toxin.

Glimmer followed at a short distance, looking at the ground and thinking hard.

A day of travel passes. Slowly, the group becomes less wary of Talvin and as they see Riverwood in the distance they drop any suspicion of him.

''Aha! Told you I could get us here.'' Toxin now realised that all they had to do was to somehow convince the elves not to shoot them on site and to allow them to trade with them.

''Ehh...Moon, you want to take the lead here?''

By this point, Paton was liking the shield less. it was heavy and, as strong as he was, it was still a burden.

Moon nodded. "I've got it....But maybe you all should stay here." He said, seeing an camouflaged elf in a tree with his bow drawn. Moon drew his sword and held it up in the air as he walked towards the tree. He said something in elven tongue and the elf replied. The elf climbed down, but kept his bow drawn. Moon walked closer and said something else. The elf relaxed his bow and they continued to talk in elvish for a while. Moon walked back to the group. "Okay, we're good. And you're welcome." He said with a grin.

''...really? A quick: ''Don't kills us'' ''Ok'' and we're good to go? As much as I'm happy about it I think I'll keep my guard up if you don't mind.

Paton walked up next to Toxin, placing the shield between himself and the Elf.

Moon frowned. "Elves aren't like that. He knew who I was and we had a very nice conversation. He is very trustworthy." He sent a quick glare Paton's way for shielding himself from the elf. He said something to the elf who laughed and motioned for them to hurry. Moon grinned. "Shall we?" He asked, stepping back and motioning for them to go first.

Glimmer stayed behind Paton's shield and sent an apologetic glance at Moon.

Toxin followed Moon, keeping an eye on Paton and giving him the preparation signal once more.

Twice in one day...this is my life now.

Paton responded to Toxins signal and prepared to engage once more. He followed Toxin and kept Glimmer covered with the shield.

Glimmer smiled gratefully at Paton and stayed carefully behind him. She looked suspiciously at the trees, half expecting to see a bunch of elven archers ready to shoot them.

Moon frowned at all of them then started an animated conversation with the elf, in elvish language.
