Realistic or Modern The Zenith Project

Samuel: "The face I was making?" He inquired. "Forgive me, I'm not super familiar with expressions." He shrugged feeling a tad insecure. He wasn't used to having to bring up his, disability, into so many conversations.

Melody: "I think your name is pretty Ebony, You are very, very, very pretty. And Ebony makes you sound so..... so..... powerful? I dunno...." she shifted around trying to think of the right way to say what she was thinking. Embarrassed, she looked down "But... but I can call you Skib if you want. Or maybe Eby.? Or Skib..."

Keith blinked and looked at his food. "It's.....it's a stupid face so don't worry about it. I said don't worry!" He grumbled, shoving food into his mouth and not looking Samuel's way. He was starting to feel defensive again for pretty much no exact reason. He couldn't help it probably. it made him squirm and was making his head pound. He was going to leave soon if he couldn't do this anymore. He decided to try. "We...share a dorm right....you're on the other side."

Samuel: Samuel shrugged and stated "Well your guess is a lot better than mine. I really only know where Max is staying but only because he said something." He took a bite of hes burger again and swallowed before continuing. "I just hope I can find my way around this place," he spoke mostly to himself. "Keith right? What brought you here?"

Keith shifted awkwardly in his seat before playing with a few olives on his plate. He liked olives more than grapes. He sighed before deciding to answer, even though he wasn't sure he wanted to. "I...wanted the scholarship for my family. Since I owe them....a lot." He muttered quietly, staring up at him before looking back down. "Something like that you know. It's not really that special."

Ebony was flattered by the girl, and sensed her embarrassment. "I think its tacky, given to me by my tacky parents. Mr. And mrs. Wacko. " she laughed at herself, "where do i have any room to talk right? But thanks anyway, and dont feel embarrassed!"

Samuel: "Oh? well what do you do?" Samuel Lightly tapped the table to figure out where Keith's head was and looked back in that direction "What is your ability?"

Melody: She giggled and stretched out. "Well I don't think you are a wacko! So if I can't be embarrassed you can't be a Wacko okay!?" She giggled again. "My name is Melody, and I think you are a very nice lady." She smiled a big toothy grin holding out her hand to shake.

Keith hesitated, wishing that someone else could talk but he decided that it was too late and he was stuck with this conversation. "I have really good endurance....i can run a long time...and it takes a while for me to notice pain is all...." He answered, popping an olive into his mouth and looking down at the table. "W-what's yours?"

"Alright. Its a deal." She shook the girls hand. She stomach growled. Oh geez. She dreaded the thought of the cafeteria. At her old school they only served things like paper thin pizza and crusty mac 'n cheese. She didn't even have her map. (Lost it) but she supposed she had to eat. "Hey kid you hungry? Im starved."

Samuel: "Well, It's much like echolocation. That's really the best way to describe it." He paused thinking over what to say, fiddling with the napkin under the table. He took in a long deep breath. I don't know why I had from it... Whats the point.... It's there and it always will be.... "You may or may not have noticed....I'm blind" He spoke slowly, hesitantly, "And the vibrations are the only think keeping me from running into things and being able to, as much as I can be, Seem normal." He twisted his lips before taking a drink of the apple juice. "Ah, apple juice." he whispered to himself.

Melody: Her stomach growled as well. "Oh I am so hungry! I could eat a Whale! or two....." She giggled. "I um....."She looked around on her bed. "I dunno where the lunchroom is..... my map..." She pulled it out from under the blanket "Here!" She gently handed it to Ebony "Now we wont get lost." She smiled big. Climbing out of the bed she Wrapped chipper under one arm and waited patiently, Smiling helplessly.

Conor: "Hey Max, you gonna say something? I haven't heard a word out of your mouth since we entered this room." Max didn't respond. He looked over at Conor befor standing up to get more food. "Ok then. Hey Sam, what's up with him?"

Ebony grabed the map and headed out of the room. She walked as she talked and scanned the map. "So melody right? How old are you exactly? "

Keith went quiet, his face paling as he looked at his food. "Oh." He didn't notice he was blind. Was that supposed to be obvious? Was it supposed to be obvious? Hr covered his face and coughed slightly. H=Going completely quiet as his face went red. Wasn't something like that supposed to be easier to notice? He even left him hints. That completely dashed his confidence and Keith went silent. Deciding to eat all the olives off the plate.

Samuel: "I um.." His attention switched back and forth between Keith and Conor. Gently he tapped the floor to find Max. "He um.... He just.... Introvert? Not much of a people person, really. I'd just let him be. If he talks he talks." He shrugged a bit. "He means well I'm sure" He smiled Turning back to Keith "You are also quiet Keith, are you okay?"

Melody: "Yes that's me. And I am 12 barely.... Just turned a few weeks ago." She paused for a few moments thinking about her age and how much older everyone else looked. "Everyone else here is so much older than me. I mean you all look like adults." She looked up at Ebony.

She laughed. "Im not an adult. Im only 4 years older than you. Im 16." She momentarily lost where she was on the map, looked down at it, and said, "this way" as she rounded a corner into thr cafeteria. She got right into line, noticing a group of guys in the cafeteria, all of them very nervous. (Okay, ive been reading along with the guys plot but im still very much confused. Who is sitting with who?)

Keith swallowed his spoonful and looked over to him before looking back to his plater. "It's...n-nothing." He grunted, before sitting a little straighter and drinking the orange juice he got. The one he didn't give to Sam. He was too busy feeling like an idiot. to socialize. He wasn't even sure what to do about this anyway. This awkward feeling. He paused glancing up. M-more people. He place his head on the table next to his tray. Time to cry.

Max: He had his trey with more food and sat back down next to Sam. "Two more" he whispered. "They're girls. One of them looks young, 12 or 13, while the other one is about our age."

Melody: She clung close to Ebony as they entered the cafeteria. She instantly became quiet. Keeping right behind Ebony she pretended to be invisible.

Samuel: "Looks like this is the place to be." He drops his head to the side and smiles at Max. Samuel feels a vibration spread across the table gently he taps it once more to find a larger mass on the table than before. Placing his head on the table his hear pick up awkward breathing. "Keith..." He paused "No one will make you stay here if you need a breather. It won't be weird or make anyone dislike you." He turns to Max, concerned. "What is he doing?"

Keith paused and swallowed, not actually crying but panting. He was so socially done with all of this. He closed his eyes before sitting up, deciding that he'd go and get more food, be emerged in his food, and not talk. He sort of didn't want o go off by himself. He did end up getting up and taking his tray back with him again. He was always up for another round of food.

Max: "Panicking, at the very least. Possibly crying, but I'm not sure." He frowned. I'm not sure how much longer I can stay here, if everyone keeps pouring in. Let's see how long I last.

Since Conor stopped paying attention to him he walked over back to the food line to see Keith. "Hey man are ok? Sorry about all that." He honestly felt terrible for leaving Keith all to himself. He knew the poor guy was having a hard time and as his roommate Fletcher felt obligated to make sure he was ok. "If you want we can go, well after your done with your food." Fletcher had at first thought it was strange that Keith could eat so much but then remember what his ability was it made a lot of sense. Extreme endurance would require a lot of energy.

Samuel: "Crying?! If he's crying someone should help him...... Man Sight would be useful right now... Keith do-" He couldn't finish his sentence before feeling Keith move. "Is he leaving?" He thought aloud. "I really have no clue whats going on...." He slumped back in his chair dropping his arms to the side. I'm pretty sure this is the longest day of my life. Is it even still day? or have we changed to night and no one ever told me? I feel anxious. He sighed heavily.

Keith frowned, blindly piling whatever else he could on his plate. By now, he would be getting scolded by Michael. His older brother. However this wasn't exactly that situation. "I'm...okay I just have some social anxiety is all." He mumbled, hoping he used the right word. "A-and I felt kind of....awkward not realizing he was blind and all, was I supposed to notice that? I'm not really fit to be studying of the next year..." He closed his eyes for a minute before smiling crookedly. "I....don't mind talking to some people....I have to get used to it, and try not to yell and all...but with that many people...five? I'm not sure I'm golden anymore. I might flip the table..."

"Wait he's blind?" Fletcher hadn't noticed himself. Though unlike Keith he didn't feel bad exactly, considering he hadn't had a direct conversation with the guy, nor a indirect conversation. He was more along the lines of intrigued by this information. 'A blind kid huh? I wonder what his ability could be?' "And the social anxiety isn't a problem so don't worry about it, we'll just have to slowly get you use to people ok?" He gave him a reassuring smile, "So if you want we can go check out the rec room and see what they've got to do in there."

Keith paused, glancing over to the table then his food. He could take it to go, right? He sighed and looked at the ground. "I'd feel bad..." He whispered, before shaking his head. "B-but I didn't say that! Alright!" He flushed and looked away. "Sorry I yelled again. I...guess I'd like to go and look. After I apologize. He had like...what bats do...eco...echo...location? He probably felt me leave..."

Kara raced out of the room holding Alice's hand and raced along the halls, scanning signs of commotion, and looking for maps, as she was passing stairs she heard commotion coming from down there, but even better she smelled food. She turned to Alice, "I think we've just hit the jackpot! Let's join the fun" She spun around Alice so that she was now behind her and pushed lightly as she trailed behind her. "Time for some grub!"
