The Wandering Tide

Asane was busy inside cooking up food, not even bothered by the waves and the rocking, she was actually more so using it to her advantage since food needed to be flipped while in the pan but the waves did so for her, and she was able to toss food I to pots from far away.

"This is getting too easy" she laughed.

Even though right after she dropped a tomato on the floor and gave a blank face of disappointment.

((My character isn't emerged yet, but how can can you not be be othered by this type of waves?

Even though my character isn't attacking you yet, that is what the water looks like))

S.J. would be looking over the side of the ship once more as things settled down and the sailing had begun at a consistent pace. She had never been on the ocean and this was more exciting than any ball she had been too. Pulling her brown bandanna from her back pocket she'd tie it back over her long blonde hair to keep it from getting in her face. There were dolphins swimming along the side of the ship which brought a little smile to S.J.'s face.

As her oceanic eyes watched the waves it seemed that they would be getting higher every moment. S.J. would feel the boat rocking underneath her and hold tighter onto the ships side. It was as if a storm had just appeared over them! water was spewing over the edge and wetting her clothes and hair, and she was loosing her footing being on deck. The debutante under cover would have a more higher heart beat as she held on tightly trying not to be slung across the deck.

"Oh my gods, what is this"

She'd have hard breathing and try to move closer to where the captain and everyone was. No she wasn't a pirate and being naive to this world she had no clue the water could be so reckless. Her thin hands would hold tightly onto a rope she found and she'd keep her head bent so that the water wasn't hitting her right in the face. She was going to try and get in the cabin, feeling the wind picking her up slightly, as she didn't weigh much, she didn't want to be flung off. She'd look up towards the man that had scaled the sails to tie the ropes to see how he was fairing in this racket.

Tau quickly finished the knot, his hands skillfully lacing the rope together. He let out a contented sigh, his eyes lighting with relief as they scanned the deck one last time for any errors in the ropes draping about the ship. He looked to his fellow crew member (Samia), a slightly quirked smile spreading over his lips. "Thanks. And what would your name be dear," he asked, twirling round to stand on the railing surrounding the deck and suspending himself by draping his arms over two ropes. He observed the tumultuous sea, letting out a slight whistle. "Those are quite some waves," he observed, his brow furrowing the slightest bit. "We should head belowdecks," he nodded, not waiting for the girl's answer, simply grabbing her arm and guiding her down the hatch.

Asane watched as the two came down from the above hatch.

"Hey, whats going on to make the ship rock so much, its making my cooking a real interesting task to accomplish."

She said as she put a lid ontop of a pot of rice.

"Bingo. Now, let's see how they like me...." Zendur said quietly.

---

A giant Kraken burst out of the water next to the Wandering Tide. A giant roar pierced the air, causing some birds to come out of the water and fly away. Zendur slammed his main two tentacles onto the boat's main deck, causing it to stop and get slammed into a giant mass of water. He then put one more tentacle on the boat for extra, leaving his other five submerged in the water.

Some crew mate ran out onto the deck and swung a sword at Zendur's tentacles. The sword broke as hit connected with the tentacle, and all of a sudden the giant arm was lifting him up in the air. After holding him in the air for a while, Zendur chucked the crew mate far into the water, leaving him to drown.

((Are you seriously going to argue about this? I just started the climax, and you don't even post any response in IC. Let's say it was a stowaway! And he only appeared for a few sentences! WHY DOES IT MATTER?????

((geez man calm down, theres no need to go into a caps rage since all i did was post something telling you, you made a tad mistake, geez man, calm down ._.))

((srry short, won't reply much today))

Code first felt a small wave and looked back, thinking that there shouldn't be any high waves due to their proximity to the town. Then he noticed that black clouds were gathering above them and rain began to pour. I've always wanted to say this... "BATTEN DOWN THE HATCHES! REEF SAILS! PREPARE FOR A STORM!"

Samia was just about to respond to the man's question when he started to pull her below deck. It caught her off guard for sure, but she didn't resist to much. Just as they were about to head down the steps a wave hit the side of the ship which knocked her off her feet enough that she grabbed the railing for support. Also the wave splashed water on deck soaking their feets.

Once they were below deck she tried to regather her composure. "Well then." She brushed some hair out of her face. "The name is Samia by the way, and I guess we're in for a rough night." She looked back as more water flowed down the steps then back to her crewmate (Tau). "And you are?"

((I guess nobody is going to react, so I can destroy the ship, right? None of you have actually had your characters say anything or do anything about the fact that I stopped the boat, and now have tentacles on the ship. Let me repost my post))

Severine was watching not too far away, bobbing in the upset ocean. She shook her head and slapped her tail on the water, "That silly Zendur, how dare he endanger my fun!". She dove back into the water and swam up closer to the Kraken, however steering clear of the crew's line of slight- she was not ready to be seen. She stared at the largeness of the beast, but she was a creature of the sea and she was quite positive he would not harm her. She gave another slap of her tail, which did indeed echo along the emptiness of the ocean, in order to attract his attention. In her pretty voice she said, "Zendur, dear, I wish you would not destroy this ship! This ship is under my guarding, and I pray you will not cause them trouble...well, too much trouble," she said that last part a little deviously, giving him a pretty smirk, "will you agree to that?"

((Naga Sorry if I didn't post right away))

When the tentacles burst out of the water the boat slammed sideways into a wave. Now drenched in seawater, Code yelled across the deck, "KRAKEN! HOLD ON TO SOMETHING OR GET BELOWDECKS! IF YOU HAVE ANY SKILL WITH WEAPONS OR WITH FIGHTING, FOR GOD'S SAKE, HELP FIGHT THIS MONSTER!" Code pulled out a revolver and fired a few shots at the Kraken. He found that the bullets were nearly useless. Giving up on the gun, the captain yanked his sword out and slashed at a gigantic tentacle that was suffocating the boat, having no idea how much it would affect the sea monster.

Lynne heard Code yelling and her eyes grew wide as the Kraken appeared out of the ocean. She watched in horror as the Tide smacked into a section of a wave. Needless to say, Aralynne lost her footing and almost slid off the ship. Grabbing hold of a rope at the last second, Lynne's feet dangled off the ship. She was terrified and had no idea what to do, but Code said to fight, so she stumbled to her feet as the ship got relatively horizontal. Whipping out a sword as her captain had done, Lynne leapt at a tentacle and drove her weapon deep into the flesh.

((I'll play along Naga ~!~))

Still being on the main deck of the ship S.J. would be tying a robe around her waist as quickly as possible so she would be anchored to something. She was stuck on the opposite side from where the door was that led below deck. Her oceanic blue eyes would widen as she'd see tentacles move onto the deck and fling a crew member away. She'd feel the scream leave her mouth but was unheard from the thundering of the storm.

"WHAT IN THE HEAVENS IS THAT" she would yell and run towards some barrels to hide behind. The young girl was terrified and shaking from being wet as well as frightened. Her long blonde hair stuck to her skin and her boots would slide out from under her as she walked/ran to take cover from the monstrous creature.

She'd lift her head over the barrels as she heard the Captain barking orders and S.J. would rise form her spot moving her newly stolen bow to her arms and shakily pulling out an arrow. She'd aim it at one of the tentacles and fire one, then another, in hopes of getting it to leave. Her heart was racing and she hated the fact that she was stuck alone with a giant monster. Her stomach fluttered and she felt as though she may vomit.

"Aye aye!" she'd call and begin to fire more arrows at any tentacles that she seen. She was surprised that her aim was still as good considering her father had made sure her training sessions were canceled. S.J. may have been scared but there was also a spark inside her, the adrenaline coursing through her, that made her feel accomplished.

"Oh I'm Tau...or Taz," he answered distractedly, still looking through the cracks in the boards that formed the hatch. His face was nearly pressed against the planks as he tried to see what was going on outside. It was only when a gigantic tentacle came crashing down on the hatch that he hastily stumbled down the steps, his back slamming against the wall. "We seem to have quite a bit of problem Samia and...well who would you be?" Tau asked, flashing Samia a sorry smile and moving his gaze to this other girl (Asane) with a questioning brow raised. He subconsciously reached for one of his pistols, his hands quickly loading it as though it were second nature, holstering it again and moving to load the other.

"My sweet Severine, I wil not destroy this ship. Something is special about it. I will only hurt the ship and toy with the crew. Now leave me be!" Zendur yelled ferociously as he swung one tentacles, almost breaking the main sail mast. Then a female of some sort drove a sword into his tentacles, but he felt no pain. In fact, it caused no damage to his body. The Kraken coiled a tentacles around the sword and threw it at Lynne, and it sailed past her head.

Zendur drove a tentacles effortlessly into the "below deck" and pulled out a few barrels. He continued to chuck them at everyone. He was particularly mad at Lynne, and aimed a perfect shot with the barrel at her. It connect with Lynne's chest, sending her across the boat and and into the main mast.

Then, Zendur spotted something he could use. He grabbed a shark, coiling around it. Then he put it on the ship, and moved it around like a toy. He had it chase the crew.

((your powers almost got god mod-ish there... I don't care but other people might ^^; ;) )

Barely missing the sword swung back past her head, Lynne wasn't paying attention when a barrel knocked the wind out of her and she hurtled into the mainmast. Coughing and trying to catch her breath, Aralynne looked up and saw a shark flopping around on the deck, driven by a tentacle of the Kraken. She just tried to hang onto the mast and hide behind it in hopes that the Kraken wouldn't notice her any more.

Discouraged by his attack having no affect on the monster, Code slid across the deck and ended up bracing himself against the railing as the Kraken maneuvered a shark across the deck of the Tide. Suddenly angry with the Kraken almost breaking a mast, Code dove at the shark from the side and drove his sword down its side, causing fountains of blood to explode from its flesh ((ew gross)).

((Don't worry, it was small and I won't do it again. SORRY EVERYONE. The shark part was funny though. Also, when we discover and island and do some "land adventuring" my character has a human form, which I will describe later))

A roar of pure rage exploded from Zendur's lungs as the shark was killed. He was angry now and enraged. The Kraken swung a tentacle at Code, missing by a few inches. Zendur put his tentacle in the water, and swung it upwards like he was tossing a ball. A massive wave exploded from the depths of the oceans, higher then the smallest mast and slammed down onto the ship, hopefully knocking everyone unconscious or at least leaving them disoriented. After the wave impacted, Zendur swung his tentacles with precision, but missed by a tiny bit every time he tried to hit someone. But one precise shot made Zendur happy. He swung at Code with amazing speed, leaving him almost no time to dodge.

Asane was busy trying to keep all the pots and pans on the cooker, almost dropping some of the food.

"I shall not waste a single bit!"

she forgot about the tomato she smashed earlier already....

S.J. would remain hidden behind the barrels shooting as many arrows as she could. "this isn't working" she would mutter to herself. What could she do, this beast was so large and clever, what with putting a shark on board and all. She had lifted herself above the barrels and had begun moving towards the side of the ship once more, pulling the rope to make sure she was tied tightly, she didn't want to fall into the water. The crew wouldn't even notice. As the Kraken formed a large wave to bury down on the ship S.J. quickly ducked behind the side of the ship, missing a little bit of the brunt but getting water in her chest. She continued to cough up salt water and try to if she could get a good look at the Kraken's body under the water. He had to be somewhat close to the surface right?

"Monster I don't know what we did to you, but we need a break" She'd look as the tentacles were dancing about the deck towards the captain and once again pull herself up on the edge of the ship. She'd see a form just barely through the commotion of the sea and it was a little ways beneath the surface. But she had to try. If anything get his attention so that the captain and Lynne could have a break. She'd pull one of her new arrows out of her quiver, this were heavier and supposed to fly through the hardest of materials. Perhaps the sea? She was unsure. She would rapid fire three into the dark water, if luck were to be a lady tonight two would hit his head and one would hit an eye. S.J. prayed to the goddess of the ocean, which hopefully wasn't the kraken. She'd find a sick piece of twisted humor in that thought and laugh aloud. Swinging her bow back around her back she would be ready to run and take cover, if possible from such a large monster.
