The Wandering Tide

"It's very nice to meet you all" S.J. would turn as her name was called and follow everyone towards the Captain's quarters. As the door would open and there would be a sleeping Asane in the captain's bed S.J. found herself immediately looking down at her feet and a soft blush hitting her cheeks. Her hands would move up to cover her mouth quickly.

Well this girl was rather blunt and to the point. Quite a ballsy move for someone sleeping in the captain's bed. S.J. would turn and watch the captain curious as to what he would do. She'd expect him to be angry and allow her to come but give her a hard job or something. She didn't know, she had never been a pirate before. But it sounded good. S.J. wouldn't have wanted anyone sleeping in her bed. S.J. couldn't help but giggle at Samia's comment and lifted her hand to cover her mouth.

As the captain had asked a question it was pretty obvious that Asane was going to be a chatty one. S.J. raised a brow in confusion as her oceanic eyes watched the girl go on with her short story. Then as Annabeth, Anna, would comment about seeing her around she would nod and shift her weight from one foot to another.

"I uh.. yea I just got into town a day or so ago... running from the pigs" She'd shrug her shoulders in an awkward manner and turn her lips up into a small smile "But I'm great at acquiring things, what and all ya need?" She'd pause for a minuet as she had already given him a list of her qualifications "I am trained in hand-to-hand combat and archery...swords are a bit new to me" she'd tap the 'stolen' property that hung by her side.

She'd stand near the group but there was enough space for anyone to know that she didn't know anyone here. She was a true outcast, or runaway. Whatever you call it. Those beautiful blue eyes would coast over each persons face and try to memorize the names and what they said their skills were. Hopefully Code would see her get-the-job done attitude and allow her to be quartermaster and in charge of handing out tasks and seeing them done. She may look small but there was a fine piece of muscle under that pale skin of hers.

((Coko_Bacon i thought ur character's name was Yami x_x

and code has stepped off the ship onto the dock, i think everyone else is still on the ship xD ))

After pretending to ignore Anna's comment about Asane, Code nodded at Anna's and Finn's descriptions of their skills. Then he studied S.J. and said, "You can be quartermaster... If you're as organized and on-top-of-it as you say, you'll be great at it." To Coko, Code said, "We can always use new people..." Then he grinned, beckoned to his new crew, and said, "Okay people, let's get some supplies." Lynne glanced at the group of new pirates. She smiled and thought, What a random group of people. Hopefully we'll be good pirates... Whatever that means. Then she followed her captain off his ship and back to the town to get supplies.

((ship is NOT moving, still at dock, and crew is just going back to the town. so u can jump in whenever c: srry it's kind of confusing ^^ ;) )

Running down the dirt road of the market Erin was there at it again. It's been a while since she stepped out of her shack of home and a while since she roamed the market for something new. A wide smile crossing her face as she held on to some heavy equipment. It was a small hand canon that was rare around the seas. She was stopped by it's beauty and firepower that you could read on the small board it was by. It was long and had a wide whole to where the canon can be loaded. She had crouched down by it as she squinted and touched the rim of it. She had picked up and see if it was heavy or light. The man had caught her in the corner of his eye and walked over with a smug grin. "Sorry lady, that is to expensive for you, and a girl such as yourself can't possible handle this type of work." Her eyes narrowed as she gave him a returning smug grin.

"Look here Boy, this you can't handle. You don't know this baby inside and out. Give me an hour and I got this thing singing tunes to me. " She smiled as she tried to position it where it felt lighter and comfortable. She looked up at him , seeing how he didn't like her comment and held his hand out. "Come on little girl, give it back and walk away." She laughed a little as she tilted her head toward the right. "You know that's what I hate about you men...sexist because we got curves and chest...funny thing is I bet we can beat you in anything...for instance taking this beauty away." After she finished her last word she took off running toward the docks. She wore no shoes which made it easier to run. The lighter the load the better you run she always said. It amazed her that the man went after her. Not a lot of people she stole from had the balls to run.

"Oi your dumber than I thought." She jumped over a small table and landed roughly. Almost dropping the canon out of her hand she gave a worried look. "Whoops my bad honey." She looked back but he wasn't there. She squinted her eyes then stopped using the back of her feet. "That easy." Out of no where he jumped out of an alley way and tried to snag her arm. " oh oh oh" She leaned to the side of her feet then forward to start running again. The man yelled out toward her but she only laughed smiling back. The man pulled out a gun. "Oi you would shoot a girl." She wiped the smile from her face and ran faster. The canon was heavy but it felt light when the man pulled out a gun and started to fire.

As everyone got back off the ship to head back to get supplies Samia helped herself to a little more extensive tour. The first thing she discovered was the crew's quarters which were down in the hold, but that was typical for a ship. Hammocks hung in sets of three throughout the room, and by her count they could still take a few more crew members. The next room she stumbled upon was the galley and as her eyes scanned the large room from the benches to the cooking area a smile spread across her lips. There was plenty of room for making any dish she pleased and she could actually do her bomb work off in the far corner. Satisfied with her discoveries she headed back up to the main deck and out onto the dock.

Just as she stepped back off the ship she heard gun shots coming from in town. Did someone already get caught causing trouble? She thought and headed off towards the sound of the firearm. Upon approaching the gun user she saw him firing at a girl who was holding something close and running as fast as she could. "Hmm," she reached into her jacket and pulled a grey colored bomb out and lit the fuse with a bit of flint she had. When she rolled it towards the man it went off just as it reached his feet. It wasn't a wonderful explosion, but rather a smoke bomb that would burn the eyes and throat if inhaled.

After the man was very distracted with fighting for fresh air Samia took off running back towards the docks to find the captain.

Landing the canon down on to the dock it made a heavy thud. She wiped her forward taking off her hair rag and wrapping it around her arm. She had long since forgot about the man who wanted this back. She only. Cared for the canon and how to work it. She cracked a smile and looked around it like a kid trying to find the best way to open a Christmas gift . Men who saw her land that thing were in aw. Her as showed little muscles as it was and to carry that thing was even

More interesting.

She laid the canon on its stomach and rubbed the rim again. She was leaning from side to side this time. Checking out the back and front of the beauty. " I caught me a good one" she laughed under her breath.

((sorry so short will post more in a few mins when back at computer again))

Code was watching the commotion from the edge of the dock when he saw that both of the people involved carried weapons, and he ducked into the shadows of a building. Lynne still stood on the dock next to the Tide when she saw a girl carry a small cannon onto the same dock and Lynne cautiously walked over to her. "Umm... may I ask what you are doing?"

she looked up from the angle she was in and tilted her head. " ...Looking what are you doing." She narrowed her eyes toward him trying to figure out what he was. He wasn't from here no doubt. She turned back around as she followed the lines of the patterns that were embedded in the cannon. This town or island whatever they choose to call it. It's a thieving town, they hold most black markets here and a lot of thieves were born here. Solve violence with violence and if that doesn't work use more violence is what she learned here. There were to much stuff here that those people in the markets needed off their hands. She wouldn't call herself a thief only because she goes after one thing.

(sorry. I'm used to using Coko.)

Coko nodded. Unsure as to what exactly he needed to get, he asked, "Umm...what exactly should I get? Weapons, food, water, ammo?" Coko bowed respectfully. "Forgive me if I'm being to formal. I'm used to...detailed orders...for lack of a better word."

After Samia was sure that no one had seen her use the smoke bomb she wandered back down to the docks. The captain had said to collect supplies so she was going to try and see if there were already some nearby that would be easy to obtain. A system of pulleys that the dock hands used to load large crates of supplies onto ships as they ordered them. Currently there was a team of three sailors that were attempting to load three large crates onto a ship next to the Wandering Tide.

As she approached she heard one man yell at another. "I'm telling you. That's the ship that they're supposed to go on. The dock master was very specific." "And I'm telling YOU that you're wrong." The man yelled back in response.

They continued to yell back and forth and that's when Samia got an idea. She approached the three and cleared her throat to get their attention. "I'm sorry, but I was sent by my captain and he was wondering why you haven't loaded our supplies yet. He's been watching from his quarters and doesn't understand what the hold up is." Samia kept a smile from her lips, as to not cause suspicion and simply gave them an expectant look.

The man who had been doubtful of what ship they were supposed to load was the first to speak up. "And what ship do you hail from m'lady?" He asked and looked toward his companion.

"The Wandering Tide." Samia responded and pointed toward their vessel. "We will be leaving soon and would appreciate you getting these crates in our cargo hold. Or shall I speak with your master?"

"No no." The first man responded. "We don't need any more trouble from this. Just get these crates on that ship and if the Dock Master asks we didn't have any hiccups." He told the other two to which they nodded and redirected the goods toward the Wandering Tide.

Satisfied, Samia continued her search for the Captain. She had to tell him that they would need to leave soon so her little lie would not be found out while they were still in harbor.

((sorry the first parts kinda late x.x))

When the gunshots rang out, Code started and glanced around wildly. After he realized it was just a gun, he thought, Sh*t, I look like an idiot. I'm a pirate; I'm not f***ing scared of gunshots. Codey had trained himself to not be startled when guns were fired, despite his fear of loud noises. However, this time the sounds caught him off-guard and Code thought he looked like an idiot in front of one of the crew.

Code faked a smile at Coko. "W-Well, we need food and water, rum of course, and weaponry is always nice. Try to get things that would be good on a long journey. If anything looks like it'll be of use, take it. Everything's free unless you get caught." This time he grinned for real.

Still looking at the girl with the weapon, Lynne's hair framed her face when the ocean breeze floated through it. Tucking a strand behind her ear, she knelt next to the girl and lowered her voice, "I saw you steal that cannon. Do you think... Do you want to be a pirate? The captain of the Wandering Tide, Code, is looking for a crew and for supplies in this town. If you're good with weapons I'm sure you'd be gratefully welcomed."

Walking among the stalls and outdoor shops where various people sold various items, Code looked for something to steal that would be worth his time and energy. Petty cash wasn't a big whoop, as the main thing the captain needed was supplies. His eye caught a shop where the shopkeeper was standing outside bargaining with a customer. The shop bore salted meats, perfect for a lengthy voyage by ship. Code walked past the shop at first, then, a few stores down, slipped into an alley and looked for a way to get behind the shop. A cross street, a hidden passage, anything. The solution presented itself in the form of a trellis crosshatched on the side of a two-story apartment building. It started five feet from the ground and climbed to the top of the building. Aha, Code thought. I'm a genius.

Praising himself for being so smart, Codey glanced around the dead-end alley to make sure no one was watching. He saw a few people passing by on the main street and leaned against the wall until they passed and the general hubbub was enough for no one to notice him, in a secluded side-street climbing up a trellis. When Code reached the roof of the building, he pulled himself up in a hurry, terrified of falling from that height. He didn't dare look over the edge of the roof, and clung to the shingles on his stomach, breathing quickly and casting quick glances in all directions around him except for down. I'm an idiot.

Cursing himself for being so stupid, the captain of the Tide prioritized his goals: getting down from the roof was first, stealing some meat was second, and curing his fear of heights was third. If anyone sees me up here...

Coko nodded and searched for the food, water and stuff. Going back to the inn he was staying at, he gathered his weapons, a scythe-spear thing, a gun knife, and his dearest katana. He bought food from merchants, along with large quantities of rum. The water he stole, though. Coko then came back to the esteemed captain and said, "Captain. I got the supplies, but I need your help transporting them." Coko pointed to a large charriot people use to transport goods, that had incredibly large quantities of supplies.

She smirked as she stood up placing her hands on her hip and leaning to the side. " to give me off this rotting place sure heck I would be count me in" she gave an old fashion man from as she whipped her nose across with her thumb. She going the rag off her arm and tied it back onto her head. She looked back toward the town and pointed at it. " you need help taking things ... I mean all the islands that has thieves this one is the worst, get caught." she drove her and under her neck. " your dead... This is surly no the place to start a fight hahahaha I should know..."

xxxxxFinn shoved his hands in his coat pockets. The guns hidden in his coat, hitting his chest. He and Valerie had gotten themselves some weapons for protection. He had The town wasn't as all safe as it seemed. Their were thieves running around as well as some other dangerous people. "We're hear for the same reason as you." Finn replied to Asane. "To join the crew." He had a little bit of happiness in his voice when he said it. Finn was definitely excited. He wanted to leave as soon as possible. He had nothing to leave behind, and nothing to bring with him, yet he was ecstatic either way.

xxxxx"I uh.. yea I just got into town a day or so ago... running from the pigs" Annabeth raised an eyebrow at S.J.'s reply. "Running from the pigs? What did you do, try to make bacon out of them?" she said, a slight smile spread across her lips. The pigs in their town were rather mellow and stupid, so she couldn't exactly imagine a herd of angry swine chasing S.J.

xxxxxSoon, the captain ordered them to get some supplies for their voyage before they left. Annabeth looked over at Finn as they turned and headed back to the town. "Is he asking for us to get killed?" She said, kicking a stone that lay on the side of the road. "If anyone one of us is caught, we're dead." She said. Finn just shrugged. "I don't think it'll be much of a problem." He replied. "You're pretty acrobatic. If your caught, you can make it up to the roof of a building in no time. And it shouldn't be hard to outrun the... larger storekeepers." Annabeth laughed at his last comment and gave her friend a pat on the back. "Alright, then we should split up, cover more ground." She said just before taking off on her own. Finn sighed and turned the corner. He walked through the market, observing the things being sold and the physical shape the storekeepers. Soon he came by some dried jerky. It would last for a while on the trip, and it didn't taste to bad either. The storekeeper seemed relatively fit, but he was distracted by another customer at the moment.

xxxxxIn one swift motion, he grabbed a piece of cloth that was under a table and brushed all the jerky into it. Finn wrapped the cloth around them and shoved it into his jacket, strolling away casually. Luckily, the storekeeper had not seen him, but he would probably notice that all the jerky was gone later. Hopefully, Finn would be out of sight by the time it happened.

xxxxxMeanwhile, Annabeth was hopping from one roof to another, looking for some kind of area that allowed her to jump down, grab a few things, and climb back up with ease. Anna was just about to climb down to grab some salted meats that she had noticed before, when she nearly bumped into someone else who had climbed on the roof. "Ah..." She looked up. Fortunately, it was the captain, so she wouldn't need to make up an excuse as to why she was on the roof of a building. He was clutching his stomach, and seemed to be a bit panicky. "Captain? Are you alright?" She asked him, meeting his gaze.

((Coko_Bacon code's on the roof a building lol sorry? ......it'd be kind of hard to talk to him from the ground xD ))

Code heard someone say "captain" and blinked as he heard Anna's voice asking if he was alright. "U-um... Well... I guess you could say I'm not the best with heights." He tried to sit up so as not to seem as weak and terrified as he was, but didn't get past propping himself up with his hands. Great. Wonderful. Code closed his eyes tight and slid back from the edge of the roof to where he could open his eyes without having to look over the side of the building. "I was about to get some meat from that store down there... It has salted meat and stuff. If you want you could try to get some from there." Still clinging to the roof, Codey looked around and saw the tips of the trellis peeking up over the edge of the roof, and moved closer to it, holding his breath and not looking at Annabeth. When Code was a few feet from the trellis it was all he could do to not curl up into a ball and have a panic attack. He swallowed and didn't get any closer to the edge of the roof.

Aralynne stood with Erin and said, "I guess you'll be good at stealing supplies then. Code didn't specify what we really needed, so I'm guessing we just get food and... whatever you need for a long journey. I've never really sailed a ship," Lynne thought, Or been on one. She then spotted a shop that sold antiques. She couldn't see the shopkeeper, so she grinned at Erin and beckoned. There were old swords on display on the interior of the shop, and each of them had a tag that boasted a price of no less than seventeen hundred coins. As Lynne entered the shop stealthily, she started as she noticed the shopkeeper waking up from a nap in the chair at his desk. Freezing in her spot right in front of the swords, Lynne slowly turned her gaze to the old man who owned the blades.

He said, "So, you're interested in those swords. They all used to belong to famous pirates. I'll accept no less than seventeen hundred for the smallest of them."

Lynne retorted, "Oh, no, we're not interested in buying them." The shopkeeper raised an eyebrow. "Just in taking them." Aralynne smirked and unsheathed her own cutlass sword, cutting the strings that held the five pirate swords to the wall. With a flourish, she twirled her sword in her hand and thrust the antique swords into their respective sheathes. After that, Lynne turned to the shopkeeper who was now huddled in the corner and said with a smile, "And now they belong to soon-to-be famous pirates." With that, she raced outside and began to run back toward the Wandering Tide to put the swords on the ship. We need to leave soon, someone's going to catch one of us.

((this is so colorful c:))

Asane explored around the kitchen, opened drawers and cabinets alike in trying to find ingredients

"There's absolutely nothing here..."

She made her way over to the sink and gasped in such a horror it could have been confused for a damsel in distress in an alleyway filled with thugs she just pissed off. She fell to her knees and palms as she tried to hold herself from gagging to much

"T-...That is disgusting...I...I have to clean this up, I can't work under these conditions..."

She took a deep breath and started to clean the sink of quite a lot of unmentionables that shouldn't and shant be described in order to keep everyone's stomachs from imploding.

xxxxx"U-um... Well... I guess you could say I'm not the best with heights." Annabeth crouched down, looking at the captain. "I can see that..." She said, holding back a laugh. "I'll get those meats, and we can find a way to help get you down easily, okay?" Annabeth gave the Code a thumbs up and walked to the edge of the roof. She stood there for a moment, observing her surroundings to find the most efficient way to get herself back up to the roof quickly, since the trellis might take her some time. She couldn't find a very efficient and fast way up, so she gambled on wall-jumping if she were to get caught.

xxxxxAnnabeth climbed down the trellis and made her way to the store. The shopkeeper wasn't getting a huge amount of business, so there was a high chance of him noticing her... If only she could find a distraction. "Ah, sir. I'm planning on making a salad for my younger brother later. Are these vegetables fresh?" Annabeth looked over at Finn. He came at the perfect time, and seemed to read her mind. Finn gave her a friendly wink, and Annabeth replied with a smile. "You came at the right time young man, those were just freshly harvested." As soon as the shopkeeper had his back turned to her, she took the corners of the cloth on which the meats laid and tied them together, picking them up. She mouthed a thank you to her friend and took off, running back into the thin alleyway.

xxxxxAnnabeth stuck her fingers in a crack in the wall and supported herself up with her feet. From there, she pushed off the wall and jumped up, hitting the other side and repeating the same steps before eventually she landed on the roof of the building. "Success!" She exclaimed with a smile, holding up the makeshift sack of meats. She slung it over her shoulder and walked to the edge of the building, pointing at a large carriage of hay that stood beneath them. "We could maybe jump on top of the hay. It's just a few feet, and you won't get hurt. if I go first, I can help you onto it, and we could just climb down." She told him, already preparing herself to jump. "Do you think you could do that?"

Watching Annabeth disappear beneath the roof and reappear with a sack, Code gratefully looked up at her and guessed she had gotten some meat. When she asked if he could jump onto the carriage of hay, Code nodded wordlessly. Then he said, "We should find everyone else, and then get going back to the ship. We've probably got enough supplies by now." He didn't mention the fact that Code himself hadn't obtained any supplies. He crawled to the edge of the roof and waited for her to go first.

xxxxxSlowly, Finn was making his way back to the ship, taking useful things from different hops as he passed by them. He had just pocketed some ammunition when he heard a shopkeeper yell from not too far away. "Someone stole my meat!" He tensed up for a second, and looked over his shoulder. It was the man he had distracted to let Annabeth take the salted meats from earlier. He didn't worry much though, he was sure she could take care of herself. Finn continued walking and soon found his way to the dock. His coat was heavy with the many things he had stolen. He walked into the ship and sighed, waiting for the others to return.

xxxxx"Someone stole my meat!" A voice came from below them. Annabeth's eyes widened. "Good idea, and we better do it quickly." She hopped down onto the hay and faced the shopkeeper, so he wouldn't see the cloth that was hanging behind her back. Annabeth reached up and helped Code down onto the hay and climbed down herself. "I'll go look for the rest of them. We should split up so that they won't take both of us if we're caught." She turned around and took off in the direction of the docks. Hopefully she would be able to find at least one person.

xxxxxAs soon as Annabeth was clear of the market area, she slowed down to a walk. On the side, she noticed a few jugs of fresh water lying outside of a door, and she picked one up. As she continued, she noticed Samia. "Ah, Samia." She called out. "Captain said to be getting back to the ship. We should have enough supplies by now." She explained, pointing towards the direction of their ship.

((Sorry to OOC spam but my computer did this stupid thing last night and deleted my posts, S.J. is out stealing lol I promise to post after work. I just had like four posts written that were decent sized and they are all gone, so have been working on them most the day so far)) Thanks~!~

Coko decided to bring his supplies to the ship, with the help of some passerby's. Coko gave each of the people who helped a fraction of his money, though it wasn't all that much. After waving bye to the people who helped him, Coko started carrying an an arm full of stuff.

Upon hearing her name Samia turned to see Annabeth heading towards her with a full load of supplies. "Sure thing." She responded with a smile. "Here, let me help you." She said and took the water jug from her to carry it back to the ship. "Looks like you were successful. I got three crates of stuff. Some men were quarreling over what ship to put them on so I just offered a helping hand in directing them." She giggled. If everyone hadanaged to grab as much stuff as they did this port was for a serious inventory shortage.

Once on the ship Samia took the water jug down to the hold, and then headed to see what was in the three crates. In one there were spices and grain, and the other two had live chickens. Seems they would have fresh meat for a while at least. After that she headed to the galley and saw Asane cleaning something in the sink. "Find something interesting?" She asked and made her way over. Once she got within a few feet she could smell something horrible. Covering her nose she furrowed her brow. "What is that fowl smell?"
Sorry if there is a lot of typos. I'm on my phone.

Francis was out of his depth and he knew it. This would be the first time he'd even interacted with pirates since his... sabbatical from the Royal Navy. Would they shoot him on the spot? By the looks of the one with the cannon that was certainly a possibility but the captain looked to be fairly level headed.

He paused and looked at his shoes in thought. How do you even join a pirate crew? The thought had never crossed his mind before. With the Navy you would have to go through a mess of paperwork and slice your way through a field of red tape before you were even considered for a position on the ship. Maybe he could send a letter. No that would be too bookish, he thought. Watching for a moment he noticed various cargo being loaded onto the ship. Perhaps they bought their way onto the ship? No of course not, it isn't a ferry.

Rummaging through his kit bag he uncovered a pristine bottle of 1642 Chateaux du Papignon red. Swiped before he vacated his previous ship, he had intended to use the bottle to buy himself a small ship to sail to somewhere else outside of the Navy's influence, but now it would seem the bottle could be put to use. Gingerly holding the dusty bottle in hand he straightened his back, tilted his head up and marched with a boot-stepping fervor down the pier looking every inch an officer (albeit with a slightly ragged uniform).

Upon reaching the ship he called out to whoever might be on board as no one was in sight, the last of those loading the ship had vanished and he was unable to see up and over the gangway.

"Excuse me I say! I have business with your captain, I wish to negotiate the terms of my employ! Hello?"

xxxxxFinn was leaning over the side of the ship, watching as the other crew members began making heir way back to the ship. One person in particular, Coko, brought back carts of things, and even had people to help. He shook his head. If the townspeople hadn't known that Coko had just decided on joining the pirate crew, they would have done far from helping him. "Excuse me I say! I have business with your captain, I wish to negotiate the terms of my employ! Hello?" Finn turned his gaze downwards to look at the man who had called up to them. The captain wasn't currently in the ship, so if Finn didn't reply, the man would just be standing there, calling for a person that would never hear him.

xxxxxHe turned and made his way off of the ship, "Excuse me sir," He began. "The captain isn't here right now, he's in the town gathering some supplies." Finn combed his fingers through his hair. Talking to someone alone was a lot less pleasant than people made it out to be. "But I'm sure he'll have no problem with an addition to the crew."

xxxxx"For now, how about helping with loading the cargo?" With that, Finn turned and began gathering the rest of the things Coko had brought to bring onto the ship.

xxxxx"Ah, thanks." Annabeth let go of the water jar as Samia took it from her. She was a bit relieved, for carrying both the huge sack of meat and the water jug asking for more strength than she had. "Nice, that's actually pretty smart." She commented, as Samia explained to her the cargo she was able to get for their ship. Annabeth, adjusted the sack that was slung over her shoulder and made her way to the ship, giving a smile and a nod to Finn and the other guy that stood with him. With a relieved sigh, she walked into the kitchen and dropped the meat by the rest of the food that lay there. "My shoulders are going to be so sore tomorrow..." She complained, covering her nose from the horrible smell that wafted from the sink. Grimacing, she jogged out of the room in an effort to get away from the ugly stench.
