The Wandering Tide

The female who had put the Canon on board hear a voice.

"You don't announce when your stealing something hun."

She said after leaning over the ship toward a man down holding something. She tilted her head and looked back.

"Ill be down to get the food , this time you follow my lead ok."

She smiled as she walked down the ladder that led from the ship to the ground. She was bare footed so she must have been weird to some people. She stopped in front of the man that yelled out Hello? She had crossed her arms and gave him a sly smile.

"You want to join to ahhaha you'll have to wait till the captain get's back, but in the mean time how are your stealing skills."

It seemed that the ship need food and she knew just where to go. In the far back of the market was a bar that held the finest rum and the best food. She needed three. She already had one she needed this one to come aboard her little scheme.

"This ship needs food and I know just where to get it."

"Oh... uh right of course..." he stammered whilst placing the drink back in his bag. At least they hadn't shot him yet and they seemed friendly enough.

"Of course I'll help with the cargo, I can't wait to get out of here personally" he said as he hoisted a crate under his arm, trying to find balance with his bag under the other. Suddenly he was approached by a woman.

"...how are your stealing skills?"

Francis was taken aback by the question. Not only had he just set foot onto the dock by a pirate ship before he had been asked to steal something for the crew. Well technically he had already stolen the wine but that was a spur of the moment thing. He had never given any thought to robbing people.

"Um... a little rusty I must say. But I can certainly give you a hand, just let me put these things away." he said, clambering aboard the ship and into the cargo room. The box was dumped as far back as he could put it with his pack hidden behind that. As soon as he was done he clambered down the ladder, trying to keep eye contact with a minimum. He still wasn't sure if he was going to be shot until the captain arrived.

Brushing himself down he turned to the crewmember.

"Shall we get going?" he asked, gesturing to the town in general, unsure as to what or where they would be stealing from.

(OOC: I'm going to be gone for several hours so feel free to use Francis to carry stuff Goddess, just nothing too silly ok? I'm trusting you :big grin:)

After hauling all the supplies he brought in, Coko sat on the deck of the ship and took a nap. "Man, I'm beat! ...Well at least I don't have to worry about the empire anymore, and if this goes well, the lower quarter can pay for taxes and survive. I wonder how they're doing right now?"

(occ: lol ok ^^)
She walked past Francis with her arms crossed. Francis followed as he looked around the area. She looked back with a smug grin and pointed to each one of the stores/

"That store right there sells fake weapons , ordered by the Navy...once in battle those flimsy things will break.

That shoe store over there makes people pay a lot of money for those knock off shoes but they don't know that, probably will never know. Hmm oh over there is the black smith. He says he can fix anything but cant even repair a hammer...I give him 3 four months he will be ran out of business."

She took a sharp turn past the black smith and the sword place. Down the dirt road strip were lined with new stores. This one was dedicated to travels. Rugs ,food, sleeping items, writing tools. The stores go on and on until you reach the border which was lined by trees and a do not enter sign. There were trinkets out on display this time instead of tea post and socks woven from silk worms.

"Ok so the plan is this...there is the store that stops before passing the border. That is where they sell the most finest whine and the best food off this island. Were going to pick up some sack off from our right then walk in. Were to play it cool and just act as if your browsing or trying to see if its good to eat. No pulling out weapons unless you think there about to."

She leaned to her right and swiped some sacks. Three to be exact, all the same size and all good enough to hold a lot of things. She handed them out to each as she smiled.

"Another thing...be careful, just like us they are pirates as well ."

((I already applied on both threads, this is just a friendly reminder to check it whenever you can. Thanks!))

((ok Naga I'll check))

Code removed himself from the cart of hay and sprinted toward the boat, hoping that most of his crew was already on board. He noticed the girl who had stolen a cannon ((Erin)) and a guy who he hadn't seen yet ((Francis)) walking back into town with sacks, maybe about to steal some more. Code approached them and said in a quiet voice to Francis, "Hey, my name's Code, and I'm the captain of the Tide. I heard you say you were interested in being a pirate... I'lll gladly accept you into my crew, if you can steal some supplies for our trip. But if you are going back into town to steal, you might want to make it quick. People are bound to notice us, so we'll be setting sail soon." Then the captain continued to the ship, following Lynne as she walked up the dock and placed some swords on the deck of the boat. Once on the ship, Code looked around for the rest of his crew, giving them orders about where to put supplies and other things. He peeked into the kitchen and saw Asane, but didn't enter the horrid room. "You're pretty brave for cleaning the sink like that. Well, good; I need brave people on my ship." Code laughed and continued on his way, finally ending up in his captain's quarters.

Francis nodded to the girl and followed as she pointed out the nearby shops. They would have to be quick as people were bound to start noticing all the commotion. He greeted the captain who confirmed his worries about the local people catching on about all the thefts.

"Perhaps we could use some help, and I didn't catch your name Miss..." he said as he passed a group of children messing about on a street corner. Francis produced a coin from his pocket and whispered to the children, gesturing to the shop before dropping a coin into the leader's outstretched hand and returning to the girl's side.

"If those kids are faithful to their word then we have about 2 minutes before they put a rock through the shopkeeper's window. Hopefully that should buy us a quick window to... um... acquire some food before we leave."

Francis hoped that the plan would see them right. In any case the children seemed eager enough to smash the window without the payment so he had no doubt that they would.

((Em, since my character is a Kraken, I'll wait until you have set sail to post. Prepare for... uh, tentacles and huge waves >:])

Noticing the captain walking up she gave him a thumbs up before moving on ahead.

"We'll be back before you know it."

She looked toward the guy she was standing by and gave him a wide smile.

"The name is Erin, formally known around here as Trigger."

She waved toward the small boys then nodded toward him. They had about a five maybe three minute window when the kids throw the rocks. This would give them enough to collect and run before the guys started pulling out pistols.

"Only carry what you need, nothing more nothing less...if you cant handle it don't get it. We each can't go for everything so I leave the whine to you...um your name ?"

By the time she ended her sentence she was already in the shop. Her sack opened as she started shoveling, bread cheeses crackers and fruit in to the bag. When she passed a counter with candy, she took no time in shoving them all in. One of the men behind the counter looked over and glared. She had already set the sack down , away from his vision around the shop. He grunted as he put his hands on his hips.

"Browsing mam."

She nodded her head as she slid open the sack a little with her middle and index finger. It couldn't be seen by them. But there was something that smelt good in those plastic containers and she wanted them.

"Yup0 don't mind us just browsing, you got some good stuff in here"

Tau was about the town when he made his daily stop by the port. And for once it appeared that his prayers had been answered. He couldn't really believe the sight before him at first. But once he came to terms with the fact that their was a pirate ship before him, judging by it's crew and flag, he wondered why in the world it had made itself so obvious. Weren't pirates supposed to be sort of...cunning? Ah well, no use looking a gift horse in the mouth. The town wasn't exactly harsh on criminals and maybe this pirate crew was new to the business like himself. It would explain their lack of discretion. He approached the ship carefully, his lips parted in awe. He was hesitant to simply call out to the world 'OH YES PLEASE I'D LIKE TO BE A PIRATE THANK YOU VERY MUCH' so he dared himself to board. He had no idea who was in charge, so he tapped the shoulder of the person nearest to him (Code) and politely asked, "Would you happen to know whom I could inquire about joining this crew. I assume you all plan on pirating, correct?"

Code was watching a sea lion swim around between the boat and the dock when he felt a light tap on his shoulder. He turned around and heard someone ask to join the crew. Code grinned and replied, "Yes indeed, we are pirates. My name is Code and I'm the captain of this ship, the Wandering Tide. I'd be glad for you to join my ship. We're about to cast off, and have just... acquired some supplies. A few of us are still in the town, stocking up on more items for our journey... We're searching for a paradise of sorts. But I'll tell you more about it when the ship's underway. What's your name?"

"You can call me Tau or Taz, whichever you prefer," Tau answered with a polite smile. "Is there any way I can help? I'm not to shabby of a doctor if I do say so myself," he offered, his brow raising in question. "And if you'd like to assign me to such a position, you'll be happy to know I come full equipped," he continued, opening one side of his coat with a flourish and revealing a variety of medical supplies he always kept hidden there, just in case. From cyanide to syringes, he had the entirety of medical advancement concealed there. Just in case he found an ailing street rat as he often did, considering he was living on the streets himself. One could never be too prepared when it came to medical situations.

((I have pretty much no idea how a ship works so i'll try my best to remember the lingo.... but i won't use anything complicated. port = left, starboard = right, bow = front of the boat, stern = back, mainmast = the... main mast, mizzenmast = smaller mast toward the stern, foremast = smaller mast toward the bow))

The edge of Code's mouth twisted into a half-grin. "You could definitely be a doctor. We'll probably be needing one; if this legend of a pirate's paradise is as widespread as I believe it to be, there'll be other ships looking for it, probably without need or want for sharing with us. Excuse me, I'm going to tell the crew that we'll cast off as soon as Erin and Francis get back from the town. You should explore the ship: the crew's quarters are belowdecks." With that, the captain cast a glance toward the town, willing the last two to hurry up. Then he went from room to room, telling all the crew members that were on board things like, "We'll be leaving very soon; you should get to the deck and start making preparations to cast off. If you don't know how a ship works, learn from someone else or do something productive." I don't want to get caught by anyone, Code thought, but I'm also really glad they're eager to get supplies. Hopefully we'll have enough, but we can always replenish our stock at any town.

(il buddy him on the ship)

The boys through the rock in to the shoe store giving them enough commotion for them to leave. She quickly gripped the bag as she flung it over her back. Winking toward the man who was in awe she had quickly walked over to Francis. The other man who seemed to be ready for their move pulled out a pistol. She eked a bit as she grabbed a hold of Francis wrist and brought him close turning him about toward the door way. The shot was fire but lucky her it missed by a few inches. She ran in front grabbing Francis hand and running out with him. She inhaled as she came around the corner from the line , the pirates on their tail.

"CAPTAIN START SETTING SAIL."

She hollered out as loud as she could. Her sack bumping against her back as she moved and turned down the road. Francis behind her ,since she wasn't letting go. The man rom behind yelled out as he waved his gun in the air , firing it off without even aiming.

"COME BAC KHERE SO I CAN KILL YOU."

Erin looked back sticking out her tongue.

"SORRY I HAVE OTHER THINGS IN MIND INSTEAD OF DYING."

She turned the last corner and was now on the main road for the ship. Smiling she kept up the pace her feet digging in to the ground. She managed to get a few boys to jump in front of them as she ran on to the bridge. She stopped by the main mast as she dropped the sack on the ship floor , leaving Francis to drop his things and ketch his breath.

"go go go go"

Lynne saw two more people race up the dock and onto the ship, a man with a gun chasing them. She looked at the masts and lines and sails with a bewildered face, knowing that they had to leave but not having any idea how to get the ship to move. Finally, Lynne saw something that would help. She hopped over the gap between the dock and the Tide and untied the thick, heavy rope that attached the ship to the dock. She looked back at the ship and realized that it was getting farther away from the dock. Not having any time to think, Aralynne took a running start and leaped over the three-foot gap that was widening between the ship and the dock.

Hearing the gunshot and Erin's and Francis's pounding feet, Code knew that it was definitely time to set sail. Erin's frantic shouting cemented the fact in his mind. He hoped that they could cast off quickly. Pulling the anchor up himself, Code looked over his shoulder and yelled, "We're casting off! All hands on deck! Get some wind in these sails!!"

(Sounds good. I don't know the nautical ways very well either X3)

Tau silently nodded and went belowdecks to explore the crew's quarters as Code had suggested. It didn't appear to be very extravagant living, but that wasn't really a concern to Tau. After all, his usual resting place was a crate in an alley. To have something to sleep in that was actually meant to be slept in was quite an upgrade. He wasn't really up for sleeping though. He moved to sit on a barrel positioned in the corner of the room, reaching into his pocket and finding a bunch of cherries which he had most certainly not come across by lawful means. Popping them in his mouth one at a time, he skillfully braided a chain of cherry stems together using his tongue, storing the pits in his cheek to spit out later. He had a lot of time to himself since he didn't have a job. It left him with a multitude of useless skills. He heard the commotion outside but he couldn't bring himself to care unless one of them had already managed to get shot. In which case he'd be there in a flash. But from the shouts, it appeared that all was well. No cries of pain so far. Oh. Oh but the captain called for help. Sighing, Tau stood from his seat , spitting out his cherry pits as well as the little stem braid and heading abovedecks to see how he could help. Tau was no fool. He'd read up on sailing before joining a crew. He'd known his intentions for a long while. And so he immediately set to work on the multitude of ropes dangling about the ship, doing his best to remembering what was what and what was to be loosened or tightened and where everything even went.

Behind the rocks hugging the shoreline peaked a face with bright sea colored eyes, white hair almost glimmering in the sun. "Humans are such peculiar creatures..." Severine thought aloud to herself quietly before she giggled, watching each person go from the ships deck, readying to set sail. She had been scoping out the dock for any valuables within reasonable reach when she had heard the ruckus of the crew, it had instantly caught her attention. "There are a lot of men on that ship...pirates nonetheless, perhaps they have some treasure they might want to share," she snickered to herself before letting go on the rock and diving into the water, following after the ship at an easy pace so she would not be right behind them.

Zendur, currently sitting on the ocean floor, taking up most of the room in that area, opened his eyes and chuckled. Yet another ship had come to invade his land. The Kraken ((another name I will call Zendur because he is one)) looked around at the minuscule sea creatures. He himself thought they were somewhat pathetic, but since he basically ruled the ocean he had a deep respect for all sea life. And, there was another interest with the ship. Severine, the Queen of Mermaids was following this ship. Zendur decided, instead of directly attacking them, he would cause disturbances in the ocean such as Tidal waves and storms. But he needed to get closer to proceed with his proper plan...

The Kraken raced through the water at 60 miles per hour. Because Zendur was so large, going that fast was a lucky speed. Now, he was essentially at least 1-2 hours from the boat, depending on if he could keep up the speed. He couldn't get too close, that would give himself away.

Perhaps some 'natural occurring' waves would cheer them up, Zendur thought evilly. Then again, he told himself to wait. They were too close to the port. A few miles would do good.

((ugh i wonder if theres a setting that makes it so i still get alerts after like 2 days of not posting, because this has happenend with like 3 threads already...))

Asane had finished cleaning up the kitchen awhile ago, mostly holding her nose shut the whole time as everyone else is getting the ship moving.

"Well, atleast everyone delivered alot of food supplies, actually they probably got better stuff than my old rest stop had to offer..."

She thought back to the disgusting meat and drinks they had and the shady places they bought it from in order to save money.

"You know...i have no idea where to sleep from now on, I wasnt spending any time searching around the place... Meh, I'll just sleep in code's room like before"

She laughed a bit, wondering if he could feel her invasiveness

S.J. had been gone scavenging for things to steal. She had come across of brown sack that seemed to be nice for carrying things. As she would walk up to a merchant selling fruit, veggies, and other types of foods S.J. would smile cheerfully. "One moment ma'am I have a customer" S.J. would nod and drop the sack onto the ground below the counter leaving it open. She'd re-adjust her corset to reveal a little 'too' much and lean over to rest her elbows on the counter top. She'd keep a sharp eye on the man as he continued to try and persuade a lady to buy some fish and every few seconds she'd knock a different fruit onto the ground in the sack. This went on for about five minuets and as he came over to her she'd smile and pull a silver coin from her pocket "Yes thanks I'd just like two or three of those please" she would say and point at some berries and wink at the merchant and then place the 'legit' goods with the stolen. She'd pick her sack up and turn on her heel towards a shop that sold weaponry. Once she was there she'd walk in and browse the knives and swords, she'd swipe two different daggers and tuck them under her skirt and into a garder on her inner thighs of her left and right leg. She was just about ready to leave, not wanting to linger to long in one place when she saw a beautiful bow and set of arrows. Her mind told her there was no way to get the long bow out of there but her heart wanted it so badly. She'd look around and notice the girl watching her and she'd sigh as she walked over to her slowly "So I was wondering if you had any of these in a smaller size" she would point to gloves that were supposed to help with a firm grip "I have a very small hand and I don't see any that fit, could you please check?" the girl would look at her cautiously but nonetheless she'd go to the back. That was when S.J. ran to the bow and pulled it from display along with the quiver filled with about thirty arrows and take off running. It was exhilarating to think she had just done that! Sure she could have paid for it but she wanted to be a 'real' pirate.

Running back to the dock she'd drop the sack onto the deck of the ship and remove the redwood bow from her shoulder and hold it up to admire it. It was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen, she'd pull it to her and hug her. A happy squeal would escape her lips and she'd finally look around the ship. It seemed that the crew had grown quite a bit since she had left to scavenge. Lifting the full sack over her shoulder she'd begin walking. As she passed Anna she'd stop and gently place a hand on her shoulder speaking slowly. "I am sorry about the pig story.. I meant the town guards, not actual animals" she would laugh slightly "My uh,,brother always called them that"

Turning to face the others she'd let her sweet smile fade. As the ship would seem to be getting ready to leave S.J. made a quick stop to drop the things off in the galley and then try and find the captain. She'd walk to the side of the boat as it would seem to start moving and she'd look over the edge and see a few fish swimming

((Sorry it is so short))

Francis caught his breath after running aboard the ship and looked around quickly, the crew were in a frantic rush to cast off with the captain barking a quick order to all hands. He brushed himself off and peered up at the main mast, shielding the light from his eyes. I guess someone needs to head up there.

The young man began to climb the rope ladder along the main mast, untying various knots as he went to ready the ship for full sails. The wind grew stronger as he climbed higher, buffeting him slightly, but the sea was fairly calm in port and the chance of losing his balance was slim. He gripped a rope tightly as he leaned out over the ship, peering down at the deck below.

"You heard the captain" He called down "lets get The Tide out there and away!"

Once the sails were unfurled by the crew he could head back down and begin inspecting the deck and perhaps have a talk with the captain about the ship.

She had rushed over tithe anchor and began to lift it up her grip was right and her feet was against the ships side. Heaving and hoeing she pulled up more and more. The weight was heavy but bearable. She i board nd exhaled. Her muscles flexing as she pulled every inch of it up. She pulled it one last time. Knotting the knot on to the hook. The anchor lifted Nd ready for sale. She waved up toward Francis the. Toward the captain.

" the anchor is up"

((Sorry about not posting, the no alerts thing messed me up too.))

Samia was still in the galley when she heard people yelling and a commotion told her that the ship was about to get underway. An excitement started to bubble up inside her as she ran to the top deck to help in anyway she could, of course her knowledge was limited but she soon found someone whom she hadn't met yet securing the different ropes that went to the sails. As she watched him tying a particularly thick rope she went to help. "Here, I'll hold it taught if you want to tie it." She told him and used all her weight to pull the rope down and secure the sail in place.

((sorry for not replying... a lot of things going on. won't be active very much tomorrow))

Code glanced quickly at every crew member and, satisfied that they could get the ship under way, walked to helm. He took hold of the wheel and looked toward the horizon. I wonder where this paradise is... If anyone knows about it or has a map or anything, they'll be on the ocean searching. If we can find another pirate ship or a ship searching in the name of the the Queen, or for Rome, or for Narnia, maybe they'll have information on this place. Code squinted his eyes and searched the expanse of the ocean before him for any sign of a ship. He turned from the helm and called over the wind and waves, "Anyone see a ship out on the ocean?" By now the Wandering Tide was picking up a good speed, and was pretty far from the dock and from the small town, and the shouts of people whose food and supplies had been stolen were out of hearing range.
((the ship is pretty good so we don't need to do any more technical rope-tying/untying and stuff for now))

((Prepare for a surprise attack, from the Kraken! AHAHAHAHAHAHAH *cough* *flem comes out* *cough* excuse me))

Zendur smiled as the Wandering Tide left the port, and was already in the open ocean. This would make things a lot easier. In fact, they were in deep water. Deciding on doing the subtle part of his plan first, he began to wave his tentacles up and down. This would cause the water to rise and make the ship have to deal with extreme conditions such as giant waves and a storm. The Kraken looked past the surface of the water, and the ship was already rocking abnormally and being flung into the air and smashed by huge waves. Given the strength of Zendur's tentacles, the storm and waves would stop when he wanted them to stop.

They won't expect me because they have to deal with the waves and the storm, Zendur thought.
