Fandom The Untold Stories of Hogwarts - 1x1 HP RP

Xavier was fine with Aaron holding his hand. He loved it. As the pair of them headed towards the Charms classroom, he couldn't imagine a happier day. They'd have class then go relax. Unfortunately they'd never get to relax that afternoon. He entered the Charms classroom, sitting beside Aaron with a smile.

The day of course started as any typical day would. Aaron sat with his boyfriend in the classroom and charms class began like usual. They were mostly preparing for NEWTs and final exams so the lessons were heavy lectures and review of their advanced material.

Xavier sat beside Aaron, paying rapt attention to the reviews and lectures in the Charms classroom that day. Scrawling down everything he could possibly think to. It was a long class, very heavy in material. Xavier was paying attention and didn’t even realize that the class had finished. Stretching, he looked over at Aaron, ready to go have some lunch. “Ready for lunch?” Xaie asked him. Unfortunately, that lunch would be last piece of peace they’d have that day.

His head spinning with information, Aaron got up and left the charms classroom with his boyfriend. He was glad to take a break and enjoy some lunch and nodded as Xavier suggested they grab something to eat. Aaron smiled and looked over at his boyfriend, gently grabbing his hand and going to make his way down to the Great Hall. At least, that was the goal.

Xavier was walking beside Aaron, his head full of information. He was quite content with his hand in Aaron’s. As they walked, he noticed a couple Professors had started talking to the students as they walked. Xavier caught one sentence that made his blood run cold.

“All students to the Great Hall. This is not a drill. All students to the Great Hall.” The last time they were all called to the Great Hall had been when the intruder was supposedly in the school. What was going on? He squeezed Aaron’s hand as they made their way to the Great Hall, Xavier’s nerves on fire.

Their good mood and uneventful day would soon be so suddenly interrupted as they encountered some professors and students rushing to the Great Hall. Aaron’s heart leapt and his hazel eyes widened as they were informed that they were to report to the Great Hall urgently and that this was not a drill. Aaron’s stomach dropped- clearly something was wrong. Aaron could feel Xavier squeezing his hand and he turned to look at his boyfriend, fear and uncertainty in his eyes. “Let’s go…” he whispered, grabbing Xavier and hurrying him to the Great Hall.

Xavier’s own eyes were just as fearful as he looked at Aaron. “Yep” He said. The pair of them increased their speed to the Great Hall. It seemed as though the entire student body was there already. Professor McGonagall was standing at the podium where Dumbledore had once stood. “Students. Our worst fears have come. Hogwarts is under attack. All students 16 and younger are to be evacuated. Students 17 and over are allowed to fight if they wish or they are free to leave.”

She finished her words and Xavier knew right away he’d be staying. He’d been afraid of this happening, his long hours studying just to prepare for this situation. His heart had dropped, worry and fear prickling in his veins and his nerves were on fire. He looked over at Aaron with fear in his chocolate brown eyes.

Aaron practically ran down the hallway with Xavier as many students and teachers around them rushed to the Great Hall as well. Once they had arrived, they could see that practically the whole school was already there or just arriving. Aaron’s heart rate was at an all time high. He watched as Professor McGonogall took to the podium and addressed the fearful students of Hogwarts that had gathered there in the Great Hall. Aaron’s stomach dropped to his feet, his gut lurched forward, and his heart stopped for a moment. The worst had happened- Hogwarts was under attack. Not even the magical enchantments protecting the magical school were enough to stop the full force of Lord Voldemort and his army of Death Eaters.

McGonogall then called for the evacuation of all students sixteen and younger, which meant first through sixth years. Seventeen year olds, like Aaron and Xavier, were given the choice to stay or flee. Aaron had no doubt in his mind and didn’t even need to think twice- he was going to stay and fight. Ever since Gryffindor seventh year also seemed to be determined to stay, showing their house’s bravery. Not one seventeen year old Gryffindor even thought about evacuating. They were all going to stay. Most Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw seventh years seemed to all be coming to the decision to stay as well. Aaron quickly looked at Xavier and stared into his eyes. They didn’t even need to verbally speak it- Aaron knew that Xavier wanted to stay, and in turn, Xavier could no doubt tell that Aaron was determined to stay here and fight.

Xavier could only watch as the 16 year olds and under were ushered out. All of his Hufflepuff housemates 17 and up were right behind him. They were ready to lay everything down to protect their friends and their school. It was awe inspiring to see how many of his fellow Seventh years remained there. He knew that Aaron would stand and fight as well. They’d lost friends to Lord Voldemort and his followers. It was time to stand up and fight for the good. To protect those that either couldn’t protect themselves or were targets themselves.

Xavier stood tall, his house mates behind him. He was ready, or he thought he was. No one really knew what was going to happen but he was going to do his best to protect what was his. Xavier pulled his wand out, gripping it tight as the last of the younger students vanished. Professor McGongall woke the suits of armor a few moments later to help protect the school. Then, the call was given to defend the school as the Death Eaters and the rest of Lord Voldemort’s Army breached the walls of the school. It was time.

Aaron felt like he had a personal stake in this fight. He’d personally lost a close friend and he knew that Xavier had lost a friend as well. Of course, they’d also lost their headmaster to the Death Eaters. Countless deaths happened at their hands and countless more were going to continue to take place if something wasn’t done. In a way, staying and fighting, to Aaron, was avenging Jacob Cromwell as well as protecting Xavier. Of course he also wanted to help work for a better wizarding world by protecting first, the students of Hogwarts, and those who were half blooded like him, muggle born, or people like Xavier who were pure bloods that fraternized (and even dated) different blood statuses.

Aaron joined Xavier and pulled out his wand from the pockets of his robes as the younger students were quickly evacuated, hopefully to safety. All Gryffindors and a majority of Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws that were of the seventh year stayed to get ready to fight. Perhaps about some single digit number of Slytherin seven years stayed to fight too, but the majority of them fled and evacuated with the rest of the younger students. Hogwarts had an army of students and they were ready for action. Aaron noticed a lot of familiar faces, many who stayed being from Dumbledore’s Army.

A loud explosion could be heard. Lord Voldemort and his Death Eater forces had breached the walls of the Hogwarts castle. The chaos and battle had begun.

Xavier heard the explosion as it rocked the castles walls. There were Death Eaters storming the castles walls, doors anywhere they could make it inside. And so he headed towards the battle. His eyes sweeping in front and beside him, he had seen a large group headed up from the pitch towards the courtyard to make their way into the castle. That was his destination. So far, they’d encountered no Death Eaters, but the moment he turned the corner towards the courtyard there were probably 15-20 cloaked figures.

Charging forward, the group split, ten went towards Xaie, the others went another direction. He couldn’t stop both groups, so he focused on the ten in front of him. It was overwhelming but he could only think about protecting this school, the innocents and Aaron as well as avenging Cedric. Xavier disarmed the first one while ducking to avoid a spell from another. This was gonna be a long day.

Aaron knew Xavier would be able to hold his own in a fight but he was rather worried about himself. He wasn’t as proficient as his boyfriend with his wand use and he certainly wasn’t as skilled during a duel and could not cast the right spells at the right time so easily like Xavier did. The Death Eaters stormed the school, causing destruction and destroying the walls of the ancient castle. In all of the chaos that ensued, flashes of lights from wands, both forces of good and evil, went in every which direction. At some point during the fight, Aaron had noticed that he was separated from Xavier. He tried not to panic a he remained by a group of some members of Dumbledore’s Army, casting basic defensive spells to fend off the Death Eaters and keep them away. The Death Eaters were out for blood. It didn’t matter what age you were- if you were against them, they were going to kill you. It didn’t matter if you had a whole life ahead of you. Aaron feared for Xavier and hoped he was fairing well in battle. Something in his gut told him that he was- Aaron knew his boyfriend. He was a bad ass.

Xavier had been so focused on the group in front of him that he hadn’t noticed he had been separated from Aaron. He was shooting spell after spell. Binding charms, Everte Statum was his favorite as well sending Death Eaters into walls. It was the easiest way he’d found to knock them out. Sweat covered his brow as he worked on the group in front of him. He had a few other students right behind him.

Somehow he’d taken the lead and they were following him. Suddenly he got hit with a fire whip, the fire slicing across his chest and up his neck. “Shit!” He never swore but he did then. He was lucky that it hadn’t been as deep as it could’ve been. He sent a binding charm at the direction the spell had come from.

About three death eaters remained from the initial group. It didn’t take much to disarm and finish off them. He had some cuts and scratches from ducking but the worst was the cut from his left hip up and across towards the right side of his neck from the fire whip. It was then he realized Aaron was nowhere around. No. He turned and went to find him, anger blazing in his eyes and worry in his heart.

Aaron felt a bit silly but he mostly relied on the protection of some of the more skilled defensive spell casters around him. The DA member students with Aaron helped fight back the oncoming Death Eater offensive and Aaron tried any way he could to help, using some very rudimentary charms. At the forefront of his mind was Xavier- where was he? Aaron hoped and prayed that Xavier was safe. He hated being separated from the boy, especially now in the middle of an ever growing heated battle. Aaron’s heart pounded as he had dodged at least three life threatening Death Eater spells that whizzed by his head.

Xavier was about halfway down the hall when two more Death Eaters cornered him. He dropped to the ground as they sent two killing spells towards him. He shot to his feet and disarmed them. One ran towards him, knocking him off his feet, they went tumbling and Xavier tried everything to get free. Once they’d stopped, he didn’t hesitate to punch the Death Eater, dazing them enough to get away. Panting hard, he bound the one that tackled him. He looked up at the other one and he froze. His heart rate increased with fear and anxiety and he felt eleven years old again. “Hello Xavier”

Aaron watched the chaotic scenes around him. Never had he been involved or even seen anything like this before. There were flashes of lights everywhere, explosions, things getting blown up. In addition to all of this, there were people on both sides getting injured and even killed. Aaron heart leapt each time he saw a student get hurt. Sure they were seventeen and mature, soon to be adults, but they were still just kids. Enchanted suits of armor worked to defend as well as the Hogwarts professors, banding together and using their mastery of magic to help defend themselves and others and take out Death Eaters. Clearly the adults weren’t afraid to kill- it was necessary.

Xavier looked into the eyes of a person he'd never expected to see again. Eric. His fists clenched as he faced his old roommate. "What are you doing here?" Xavier's voice was hard, his eyes narrowed as he sized up the other. He needed to get by Eric to find Aaron, and if it came down to it, he'd do what needed to be done. "I've come to get rid of the one person who cost me my education" Eric sneered, his wand once more in his hands. Xavier raised his wand, ready to fight past him. "You did that yourself when you attacked me" Xavier then sent Eric backwards, walking towards him as Eric hit the ground. Eric quickly got up and sent a binding charm towards Xavier, who ducked and rushed forward. They moved back and forth, but Xavier was making progress pushing down the hall way.

At some point, their positions had switched and Xavier was backing up down the hall. Still going the right way. "You're on the wrong side" He taunted, shooting another binding spell but Eric dodged. He used the Everte Statum against Xavier, but it was more powerful than Xavier had experienced. He found himself flying through the air, landing on his side and in the middle of a large battle. His eyes narrowed as he made to stand up, though when he coughed, he had a metallic taste in his mouth. "This won't make you feel better about yourself" He ground out as Eric took two steps closer. His robes were torn, cuts over his body from their back and forth and now some blood dripped from his mouth from the impact.

Suddenly as he wasn’t looking, Aaron was knocked down to the ground and dragged a few feet from a blasting spell. He could feel his skin get scratched up from the impact of scraping against the floor. He groaned with pain as he got up. He’d fallen off of his broom many times in Quidditch before, Aaron was tough. This sure as hell wasn’t going to keep him down or even faze him. He quickly got to his feet and kept his wand drawn, casting but missing most of his disarming charms. Luckily it kept some Death Eaters distracted.

At some point Aaron had lost the group of students he was with. He was now fending for his own, dodging and ducking spells and debris that rained down upon him. He was banged up and scratched in the process but mostly unharmed. He then saw a scene that made his heart leap and his blood run cold. Aaron could clearly see a somewhat bloodied boy in Hufflepuff robes. It was Xavier. Without thinking about his own safety, Aaron ran through the battlefield to reach his fallen boyfriend. He quickly bent down, seeing blood clearly dripping from Xavier’s mouth, helping his boyfriend up, completely unaware of Eric behind him. “Xaie! Get up love!” he shouted as he works on getting Xavier up to his feet.

Xavier heard Aaron's words and saw Eric stepping up behind him, wand at the ready. Not on his watch. "Aaron get down!" He yelled, as a killing spell went over his head. He panted heavily, that was it. He could threaten Xavier all he wanted, but he did not get to hurt Aaron. Xavier made it to his feet, standing in front of Aaron. "This ends now" Xavier said, his eyes glaring at Eric. He'd never used the killing curse before, he refused. But it was going to come down to it today.

Their battle had been delayed for six years and it would end with one surviving. He swallowed hard, "You will not hurt anyone else again" He said, his voice full of hatred for the Death Eater in front of him. He would be haunted by what he was going to do, but it was him or Eric. "Avada Kedavra" He shouted, his wand pointed straight at Eric, and like always it worked first time for him, hitting Eric straight on. Xavier swallowed hard, he'd just killed someone on purpose. Self-defense or not, it would definitely be on his mind for years. Xavier turned to look at Aaron, offering his hand. "Let's go kick some more Death Eater arse" He said with a smirk on his face.

Aaron’s eyes widened at Xavier’s sudden warning and just in time, the Gryffindor ducked and barely missed getting hit by a killing curse. He knew that incantation- it was something they were taught was an unforgivable curse. Xavier’s quick thinking had saved his life. Aaron was so focused on helping his boyfriend that he hadn’t even cared to be careful about his own safety. He quickly stepped aside as Xavier faced his foe and prepared for a final showdown with his tormentor, Eric, who Aaron was surprised to notice was now a Death Eater.

Before Aaron could react any further, Xavier leapt to action and had some words for Eric, the former Hogwarts student who had been expelled and now turned to be a Death Eater in Voldemort’s army. Xavier then yelled the incantation for the killing curse, shocking Aaron. It wasn’t something he ever thought he’d hear out of his boyfriend’s mouth. But this was war and it was necessary, and someone as evil as Eric entirely deserved it. With him dead, Xavier was right- he could hurt no one any more.

The memory of finding Xavier injuries and bloodied at Eric’s hand back in their first year in the bathroom came flowing back to Aaron. He felt hatred for the now Death Eater boy and he didn’t even think or blink twice as Xavier cast the killing curse, hitting Eric. Eric dropped to the ground, his lifeless body falling backwards with a thud. Eric had been killed. Xavier had faced his demons head on. Aaron then turned to his boyfriend quickly and nodded, taking his hand, proud of Xavier’s bravery. “Damn right! This isn’t over yet!” he replied, determined to stay in the fight. He was glad that Eric was dead by Xavier’s hand. That was one less horrible Death Eater in the wizarding world.

Xavier smiled at Aaron, before he turned to the chaos around them. He didn't want to let go of Aaron, but he had to. Another group of Death Eaters were coming down the hallway. Xavier stepped up, a smirk on his face as a few of them headed their way. He started with disarming them, and he got three of the four, and had to duck back when the fourth one sent a spell at him. Recovering he sent another spell at the one who still had their wand, sending them backwards. He took a step closer, casting the binding spell on two of them when another cast a spell that caused an explosion at Xavier's feet, sending him flying backwards again, hitting his back hard on the stone. Ouch. He tried to get up, but he couldn't catch his breath. Come on, get up. He tried to motivate himself. He caught his breath but he looked up to see a Death Eater coming up to him. No, this can't happen. He tried to move backwards, where was his wand? It had been in his hand before the explosion. No wand and staring at the cloaked Death Eater, he felt fear. His wounds stung as he searched for his wand. He found it to his left, just out of his arms reach. Dammit.

Aaron stuck close by Xavier, making sure there was no way they would get separated or either of them would end up alone. He followed his boyfriend as he casted spell after spell, fending off the Death Eater assault. Suddenly, Aaron could hear an explosion. Luckily it missed hitting either him or Xavier directly, but it caused Xavier to blast backwards against a hard stone wall. Aaron gasped as he saw Xavier injured, struggling to get up against the wall. He’d taken a nasty impact. His heart leapt as he saw a cloaked Death Eater coming towards his boyfriend, and he noticed that Xavier’s wand was on the ground just out of his reach. It seemed that Xavier couldn’t move and the Death Eater only got closer. In a moment of quick thinking, fueled by love for his boyfriend, Aaron pointed his wand at the back of the Death Eater and casted his first killing curse. A flash of light came from his wand and directly hit the Death Eater approaching Xavier. Aaron watched as the cloaked figure dropped to its knees and down on its face, unmoving and lifeless on the ground. He had killed the Death Eater. Aaron immediately ran over to Xavier and grabbed his wand, bending down. “You alright love?” he said, panting heavily. He was sweating now.

Xavier was certain he wouldn't have made it, but then he heard Aaron cast the killing curse himself. He took a second to breathe as the Death Eater fell dead. He looked up at Aaron as he bent down. "I'll be fine. Though my back hurts" He said. He took his wand and panting, got to his feet shakily. "Come on, there's still more" He walked forward, his steps a little slow. He ached all over, and he'd hit the back of his head when he'd been thrown backwards. Shaking his head, he kept going. He had to. "There are more over near the kitchens, I saw them split up before I got blasted" He said, looking at Aaron. He was angry that Aaron had to kill someone, he should've never had to do that. He didn't want to do it either. He moved forward, his eyes looking at all the bodies, it was a mix of students and Death Eaters. He swallowed hard, his breathing still heavy.

As Xavier got to his feet, Aaron quickly wrapped his arm around the Hufflepuff to support him, noticing that he was walking slowly and labored. “Xavier hold on, we need to take it easy,” said Aaron through heavy breathing as his boyfriend made it known that he wanted to move on and help fight in the kitchen. “You’re hurt- I can tell,” he said softly. As they walked, they could truly take in the scenes of destruction and see the horrors of war. Aaron’s stomach dropped as littering the floor along with debris were dead bodies- lots of them. There was a mix of Death Eater dead bodies as well as the bodies of Hogwarts students who had valiantly been fighting against Voldemort evil forces. They were only seventeen, supposed to graduate Hogwarts in a month. Now they were dead. Aaron’s heart hurt for them.

Xavier looked over at Aaron as he wrapped an arm around him. "I can keep going" He said. He knew he was hurt, but it's not fair. The destruction was evident as he looked around. He found himself leaning heavily on Aaron. He was angry, upset, and tired. He saw the different bodies, the debris all over. It was horrible, absolutely horrible. His eyes looked over at Aaron, they were still alive, how? Where they were, the battles had died down, moving to other sections of the castle. "We have to stop them" He said, finally feeling his breathing regulating. "Aaron we can't take it easy. I'm fine" He added. His mind wandered to Ryan, was he okay? Xavier had lost track of his adopted brother in the beginning of the battle.
