Watching the door disappear to reveal the old man really drove home the feeling of being in a world of magic. Her eyes lit up for a moment with excitement until his aura of authority washed over her, reminding her vividly of the feeling some of her old bosses had given her only much more potent. Her head tilted towards the ground out of habit and she bit her lip a little, annoyed at herself.

The old man's comment about sticking together nearly prompted her to move closer to the others but she took a breath and stopped herself, raising her chin back up and whispering to herself "If you fall into those habits now you'll be stuck that way again". Giving the best smile she could at that moment, she was about to say that she would prefer food and rest but all of a sudden they were in what looked like sleeping quarters?

Blinking a few times as she took in her new surroundings "I have too many questions and I doubt you could answer some of them" she said in response to the man "I also feel I may miss out on the experience of answering those questions myself so thank you for your help" she said with a nod and walked, hopefully not too quickly, to the food.

Nicole had been freezing for a while now, so the sudden warm rushing down her arms and legs came as a surprise. Her professor's words echoed in her head, and she felt even dizzier than before."This is what the organism does when it has 'given up' on trying to keep a stable bodily temperature. It doesn't try to protect the vital organs anymore, so it releases the blood it kept in it's chest until now to do so. Questions?" She couldn't recall how she got there, or where she was. She couldn't think. All of it just felt wrong.

After some time, she opened her eyes and realised she was in the middle of a dark room. It was strange, but she could stand on her own, and felt the need to shake off a non-existent shiver. The dizziness was replaced with confusion, and a red wall of text appeared before her before she could think more of it. "You died.", it read. "What's this... GTA? Gods above." She took the quill and frowned at the paper, looking for any obvious loop that would end in her dying horribly, and signed it. She wasn't exactly eager to, but who knows how an afterlife would actually be like... The whole concept had scared her from as far as she could remember.

As she took the paper a voice began speaking, and she nearly jumps back. Subtitles... Now that was interesting. She cleared her throat and tried to address them. "Excuse me, can we... Can we die, here, in this new world?"

The voice gave a hearty laugh which was scarier than anything else in this place until now. Then it spoke again "Oh... oh that's precious... of course you can."

Nicole felt like sinking into the ground at that and thanked the voice, taking the small card the contract was turned into. So it wasn't an eternal type of thing, but an actual new life. Suddenly, she was standing in a completely different room, filled with other people around a purple crystal. She tried to not bring much attention to herself, and stood straighter, if only slightly trying to not panic "Who are they? Were all of them chosen too? Why did I begin here, from all places?"

Mike noticed the woman who had collapsed was standing up now, always a good sign! Mike however had a question for the wizard... "hey Ains Yea? Tell me what you did before?"
"ah your song, with the grand staff of Knowing in my hand I am able to comprehend all intelligent creatures... I sense you had words or a idea in your brain and I extracted it so all could understand."
Mike had a blank face but suddenly formed a massive grin. "So if I can think it you can understand it... and someone probably could make it..."
Ains gave a sly grin. "I think that is within reason yes... for a price of course, nothing is free"
"well now I don't want to eat..."
"of course the food and shelter for tonight is free, heh... forgive me let me explain some of the notable information to you all"

Ains then gave a brief but easy to understand explanation on currency and barter, magic and mana, (and everything else i mentioned in ooc)
To anyone who played a few video games it seemed kinda familiar... Like being forced to live action roleplay, except no one's throwing tennis balls, instead the controlled mana to do all sorts of devastating shit it would seem.

Mike was happy. His magic was already on two. And he had lightning...
First thing tomorrow he would try and learn magic from someone. Ains despite being royal mage was not able to perform said magic. He spoke of his staff but not of his power...

"any way I can further illuminate anyone's mind with knowledge?"
Ains asked as two servants brought in what looked to be barbecued chickens and some sort of soup in a huge bowl that smelled amazing.
Plates bowls and utensils were brought up by a maid who quickly set the table and started serving bowls of soup.

Though he said it was impossible, Isabella raised an eyebrow. She might've admittedly been the most rowdy of Tempest Rebellion's core members, but they all liked their thrills. The odds of one of them getting whacked weren't as low as some would think. But what if they didn't get the same offer? Isabella pouted as she thought it over, eventually smirking as a new thought took center stage. But she stifled her overthinking, old dude was still slinging some mad important stuff.

Seems she'd been outvoted, they'd be taking trhe slow and steady route of recouping from their whole reviving thing. But despite the entirety of Tempest Rebellion's message being to stand by one's own determination, another big part was standing together so... she'd roll with it. Plus he said there'd be killer food so everything's chill. Isabella may be able to go long periods without food, but she wasn't about to turn down chow. Almost as soon as she settled on that, old dude Ains started magickifying them all into some big ol' room full of beds and a table littered with a vast meal.

Isabella didn't even hesitate, quite literally attacking the food with fervor. And by attacking, she literally tackled a bushel of fruit right off the table. She was already two whole fruits in when she realized that more stuff was happening, slowing down jus enough to notice that their last member finally rose to the land of the living.

"And so the band's fully assembled," she laughed before hooking the end of her mace onto her belt and raising a jug of something in the air "just in time for the welcome party. Wasn't plannin on it, but work before play's not good on all days... damn..."

She looked away for a moment "With Rayne gone I guess I'll have to write all my material now." she made a sick face for a moment before shrugging "Party, rest, king, fat money, then I'll deal with making the new material."

With that clarified, she raised the jug and downed half of it before smiling widely and laughing "I have no idea what this is!"

She began tearing into a leg of what looked to be turkey, but paused halfway to turn her attention to Ains, "But seriously, pops. Bandmates or not I needs to know right quick what kinda tunes your peeps got around here. We talking metal flute times or wooden flute times? Cuz' if I'mma shred I need to know if I gotta use like... a banjo or lute or whatever."

After having recovered from the momentary feeling of disorientation at the sudden shift in location, Rynn watched on as Isabella pounced and all but inhaled the food set out before them. It was a wonder how she hadn’t choked and killed herself. Wouldn’t that be amusing? Death by turkey leg. Letting out an amused scoff, she shifted her focus and made her way across the room to one of the beds against the wall. There she began nibbling on the food, taking note of the subtle difference in flavors with the foods of this world and of her past life.

As she watched the others partake of the food and convene amongst themselves, she thought back to what the old wizard had told them of this world. Most of which surprisingly came off as pretty standard. What stood out to her was what was mentioned towards the end. Rynn took a swig from one of the jugs nearest to her to wash down the food and proceeded to address the wizard.

“Master Ains, during your explanation you mentioned that although not a lot is known of the gods, what is known is that they send souls to this world to balance out great evils. Also, that we are the third group of souls to be brought here. That being said, I have to ask; what great evil currently plagues this land? And what were the evils that came before it?"

Sarah ate as she listened to Ains explain some details about their new world. When he was done she look a look at her card with a new perspective and smiled, not too bad for starting stats and her magic was three! Just what you need for that new world feeling.

Her excitement was starting to rise and she wanted to try out her new skills and so without much thought, she focused on the image of the water in her cup raising up slightly.

She heard Rynn's question while she was doing this and looked up, surprised by her train of thought and kicking herself for not realising it herself. They could really be in danger here and she hadn't even considered it. A small laugh bubbled up as she thought about this, at least she wasn't being over cautious here.

Ains gave a stifled cough before answering Isabella's question of music.
"i suppose rest and relaxation is important. Dear warrior you will find the world of Aerth to have all manner of stringed, wind, brass and percussion instruments. I believe the country named Karma is famous for the stringed instruments.. however Restag and Karma are in something of a war... I'm sure you will find something pleasing in the vast city of Dunwel"

Mike ate food, strange fruit was sweet but left a tangy aftertaste, the chicken looking meat tasted like chicken. The liquid was some sort of wine. Mike continued to drink until the jug was empty.

Ains answered another question as Mike slowly slipped back into bad habits...
" If one was to believe history... the first great magic war began because of the elves. Using twisted magic to corrupt the various races of Aerth. The terror that ensued became known as the great magic war."
As Ains spoke he tapped his staff to his head and pulled forth a magic PowerPoint presentation which labeled elves and the part of Aerth they came from.
"the Elves warriors made from magic eventually grew to chaotic to control. Our ancestors named them Orcs, and they took to it. The orc population over time grew to be the largest in all of Aerth. To be completely honest the second magic war still wages. Sadly Aerth has grown accustomed to the orc kind, the fear those monsters are have become as normal to humanity as the sun rising or goblin infestations..."
Ains took a minute to think before continuing.
"for why nine souls were summoned to the country of Restag? I can only guess the gods believed you to be needed here more than any other place on aerth"

Mike had downed another jug by this point and taken a plate of food to a bed.
"oi Ains we need beer or spirits before I start singing the wine song"
Ains made a tsk noise as Mike got crumbs in the bed but ultimately ignored him.

"i shall take my leave and offer you the services of the servants here. I shall most likely escort you all in the morning to king sion, but before I rest is there anything else I can help you with?"
"get us a water pipe and some good smoke, and something that will distort our perceptions."
Mike suggested but again was ignored, despite complaining about wine he had gotten up to get another jug...

Reneé looked down at her card as she ate. So, I'm supposed to be pretty good at magic? Cool, but that only makes me a glass cannon. Probably best to stay towards the back. She took a sip of her cup, and, finding that the liquid tasted like wine, downed it in a few gulps. It felt like ages since the last time she drank alcohol, and everything hits different when you die and come back to life.

She looked at Ains. "How does magic work here? Where does it come from? I don't want to mess up and kill someone, you know?"

After thinking for a moment about any and all of the possible dangers she could come across in this new life, she shook her head and stood up to walk over to the balcony. Letting her eyes roam over the new scenery, she let the storm of her thoughts calm down until it was gone. Taking a deep breath she let her face form a smile as she stood there for a few more moments. A little danger wasn't anything to worry about! Not in this fantasy world where she could use magic. The other people with her seemed good natured too, which was good.

"One try before bed" she told herself, focusing on the image of water gathering to her hand again as she tried to test out her 'water bending'. Much to her surprise, a small drop of water did for in front of her and stay floating in the air for a few moments before dropping to the floor of the balcony. It wasn't much but it was enough for her to see that she really could do it. She let a grin settle on her face as she walked back inside to the bed she had from before. "I don't know about you guys, but I'm pretty excited for tomorrow! I think I'm gonna get some sleep now" she said, starting to get ready.

John Walker
The disappearing door had raised some questions in his head, but he didn't see it happen, so he thought it just retracted into the floor or ceiling. Being teleported with little warning, however, was a very foreign experience that John couldn't have prepared for. In the new room that appeared around him, the hits just kept coming. While caution had kept him quiet before, it was the shock to his system that did so while the "wizard" gave an orientation to the world.

It wasn't long before that John found himself at the table, absentmindedly picking at a small loaf of bread, the most familiar object on the table. Although he'd caught most of what Ains explained, most of the names sounded akin to gibberish to him.

'Was this really all a part of God's plan for him?' he wondered, failing to not to give in to the tempting roasted fowl. Thankful that it was moist, as he was trying to avoid the wine-like beverage. It took moment to garner the attention of one of the servants, but was finally able to get some water, or what he hoped was water.

Remaining more temperate than some of the others, John looked over the trident that had been attached to him upon arrival to this strange world. Still not having figured to reattach it, the weapon was leaned against the table, as it made for a poor eating utensil. It reminded him of the other thing he came with, the card. The arabic numerals next to the attributes listed held little context to him, "Some kinda rankin' system, perhaps?" he asked himself quietly. The opposite side held an emblem in the shape of the trident to his side, and below it, two words: Farmer's Friend.

Rather engrossed in his own thoughts, he automatically replied, "Good night..." before realizing he had pause for a moment to recall the woman's name, "Sarah, wasn't it? Taking this all in better than I am it seems," his voice sounding almost unsure of itself.
