Fantasy The Tavern - Reopening!

"It's where I sell everything I acquire, really. Rare and expensive items, for the most part, but I sell general goods there as well, courtesy of the Clavats that live there." Catherine answered "I make sure they get a good portion of the sale price in exchange. While I'm away, my family runs the place. So... Most of the time, my family runs the place." She said, with a laugh "I still set the lineups and prices though; It's still my store."

The orc grinned at the dwarf. "My pleasure, friend." His attention shifted once again to Catherine. His eyebrow raised slightly. She was quite impressive, indeed. He stood in silence for a few moments, thinking things over. He knew Aries would be back soon and she was the one to talk to about it. The orc had made up his mind! He would bring up this opportunity to the owner and see where things go from there.

"Very interesting. From time to time we have travelers that look for rare items. If a shop such as yours is here... that might make things more interesting." Brutus smiled, his large teeth gleaming in the dwindling sunlight from the window.

Catherine was shocked. They hadn't even been talking for half an hour, and already she was getting an offer to bring her market here. She honestly didn't expect that. Of course, she'd have to think about exactly how she'd go about it, whether she'd make a branch of some kind here or just move her market altogether. The former sounded like the better idea, but she'd think about it on her way home. For now, she'd focus on conversation "Perhaps. Thanks, Brutus, I'll consider your offer."

The giant nodded slightly. He could be a bit forward sometimes, but none the less it would be interesting to have such a place here. He took a giant gulp out of his pitcher, set it down then rubbed his hands together. "Now then... What brings you this way, kind dwarf?" The orc felt it necessary to bring his conversations together from time to time. If they stayed separate, so be it, but he enjoyed when multiple personalities melded together.

"What brought me here are my endless travels" Aghared replied, just as he finished eating. He took a sip from the jug and continued "I just happened to find this dirt road and decided to follow it. It looks like the gods are kind to me in this day." He looked around at the tavern "You don't get many visitors here, do you?"

"The place is kind of out of the way." Catherine reasoned "And with Brutus enforcing this area as a no-legal-authority zone, I'd imagine some people would be afraid to come here as well. Not that what you're doing is a bad thing." She briefly spoke to Brutus, with her hand up in apology, before returning to the dwarf "Who knows what the soldiers are telling passersby about this place, too? I'm honestly not very surprised. I'd say I would be surprised at your own presence here, but I think I'd sooner chalk it down to a symbol of Dwarf courage, or something along those lines."

She was silent for a moment before speaking again "You guys remind me of the Lilties, come to think of it."

"Lilties...? I think i have heard that name before." The dwarf had a toughtful expression, but soon abandoned it. "Anyhow, i thank you for thinking of my race as brave, many people think that we are just stupid." He followed that with a big laugh. "What's your name lady? I am Aghared Whiterock, pleasure to meet you." He held out a hand for her to shake.

"Honestly, it depends on how much you've had to drink." Catherine replied as the dwarf laughed "Though, then again, have someone drink enough alcohol, and it'll make anyone into an idiot, so I suppose that's a given." She said with a shrug before moving on to her introduction "Catherine Selani." She fully expected this Aghared to recognize her better than Brutus did.

"Catherine Selani... I remember seeing you on a wanted poster. The "Purple Fox". The fact that you are a thief dosen't surprise me, knowing your race." The dwarf said as he remembered who the woman in front of him was. She owned a shop, but was also a thief. Strange pairing of the two things. He hated criminals, but he wouldn't kill her. She still didn't try to steal anything from him. Or maybe he didn't notice it. Aghared patted his pockets, but after seeing that nothing was taken he returned to his normal stance. He looked at the grey orc "And what is your name, my orc friend?"

The seasons began to change, summer slowly giving way to fall. The nights were cool yet the days still warm. It was the perfect time of year, especially for a good ale. The tavern had been shut down for the last 3 months, but now the doors were ready to reopen! The owner, Aries, and Brutus the Orc were home once more. Returning after shutting down 2 slave traders and freeing the poor souls they captured and planned to sell to the arena or into slavery.

Brutus was steadily getting The Tavern back into running order. Making sure the food and drinks were stocked fully and everything was pristine. He took a great pride in The Tavern. The grey orc made his way to the behind the bar once he was finished and started wiping down the cups that collected dust.

Aries had been away from her cozy retreat for quite some time now. Almost 2 years! The shifter had made her way around the world at least twice with the various quests she was on. The tigress's goal was slowly coming into sight after all those many, many years. She took a seat at the bar, closer to the double doors and leaned back in her chair and ran her hand through her white faux-hawk, running right between her tiger ears.

Without her having to ask Brutus grabbed a tall glass and filled it with a special seasonal ale. The woman beamed at the giant orc and then took a sip. Her eyes closed as her head tilted back, polishing off half the glass before putting it back down. Her eyes opened slowly, as green as the forest in spring. She sighed happily, enjoying the quiet moment of being back in her home. Now all they needed was a few people to come in and make things at least a little interesting! Too much relaxation made the tigress restless.
