Fantasy The Spirit Inside ~ Forest and Village

Lena's body trembled lightly, as her eyes became glossy. That spirit tried to talk to her, but... it felt... different.. She thought she could manage to at least keep herself leveled and calm, yet... since he was tired, Lena started to feel weird. Her breathing got faster, as well as her heartbeat. She barely walked few steps, before needing to lean on the wall, panting.

"What..... is h-h-happening to me..." She said quietly, holding her hand over her chest where her heart would be. Lena slid down the wall, sitting down as her conciousness again started leaving her.

Constantine averted his gaze from the graves as he felt the strange presence, he rushed inside to see Lena slowly passing out. The mage took her by the shoulders and shook her trying to keep her awake "Elf? Stay awake only a moment longer. Tell me what is happening, tell me how I can help you" he said, his face stern and concerned about her well being.

As Belisair's new winds took it upon themselves to redistribute crowd throughout the village, he finally made his way to Constantine's table and sat down hard. He had chosen to ignore Schmendrick's earlier comments, as they really were brothers-in-arms.
'Sadly.' Plus, Belisair didn't "sweat", that's a barbaric pastime for mortals and not-mortals, never elemental beings like Sylphs.

He had finally caught his breath enough to reach into a pocket, and pass a couple of energy recovery potions to Constantine and Schmendrick.

"Drink up boys. These aren't pint and quarts, but you need to be on them all the same. Sorry that I don't have something old enough for you, Kyngerz." @Throne Trinity @KingsPlague

Opting to down another healing potion for his shoulder, Belisair zoned out temporarily as he sent his new winds on their way. There was no Name to frighten them right now, and he couldn't control them without the force of those ancient memories.

((Most of Bel's more potent potions have a cool-down timer on their effectiveness, and close-nature potions like 'energy recovery', and 'healing' share a cool-down.))

"Now that everyone's here, I believe we deserve to know what just happened. Would you care to explain Schmendrick?"

((@Knightling how long does it take one man to shuffle to an Inn from an alleyway?))
Schmendrick graciously accepted the potion from Belisair. He removed the stopper from the bottle and inhaled deeply before shuddering. He took a swing, swished it around in his mouth for a second and then swallowed it. The Wizard thought about it briefly, analyzing the flavor, before downing the rest. He coughed a little, a few sparkles fluttering out of his mouth. "Yes, yes. I'll give you an explanation in do time. Let's just wait for Lila, Lena and Constantine."

"I....I..... I feel.... the spirit.... is weak....." Lena's eyes fluttered open, as she looked over at the magician, her eyes appearing to roll up.

"I..... I can't...." She went completely limp, her eyes closing on her.

"Good Gods.... Spirit.... why did you just wanted to talk to me....Thanks to you... my real self is on verge of going into deep sleep."

@RP Marshall

Constantine caught Lena before she fully collapsed, opening a portal and taking her through it into one of the cottages bedrooms, he lay her on the bed and scratched his head "The Spirit realm eh? Well, perhaps this time I will find someone there...I hope I will find someone there." Constantine gave a sigh and sat down in a chair in the corner, his eyes closing and his body becoming transparent as he cast a few spells.

So, this I have come back here again...something seems different, one could say something just feels completely wrong. The mage thought to himself as he wandered through the forest, approaching the old temple where his group had wanted to head the entire time. "Hello?" he bellowed into the temple, wanting to make sure that no one would be surprised if he entered.

"Lena? You're hear again! You didn't forget about us! ...Lena? What's wrong? ...The gods! I'm sorry my dear elf. I didn't know you were being affected in this way every time I try to communicate with you. Forgive me! I can't keep doing this to you. If this mission is to painful, just stop. You don't need to hurt yourself helping me. Damn my selfishness! Am I even doing the right thing? Flint is happy in his make believe world. Should I just leave him there? Lena, I don't know what to do. Am I being self-centered in wanting Flint to realize he's dead? I have been so caught up with saving myself that I didn't bother to think about you or Flint's well being. I'm just so worried about my little ones."

"Wait? I sense a portal caster. Did- did you find someone? Can he take you into Flint's mind? ...Oh! Sorry... I didn't let you make your decision yet. Do you still want Flint to wake up from his crafted reality?"

"I... I think my friend Constantine is approaching us... the last thing I saw before I blacked out.... .was..... him, asking me if I was alright" Her voice sounded shallow, weak even.

"Constantine? Wonderful! A portal user will help you lead Flint back to reality. This Constantine must be a genius to be able to comprehend portal casting. It is not an easy spell. Believe me! Thank you Lena. You have made a spirit very happy. I feel much stronger now. I can't wait to speak with this brilliant sorcerer Constantine!"

"No.... problem, really.... but.... Your state has really weakened me.... If you'll excuse me... I'm.... going to.. w-wake up now.... I-If that's okay"

Lena's body twitched violently, as she seemed to slowly wake up.

Constantine waited for a reply, none coming from the insides of the temple, and so he entered with a sigh. He had been to the spirit realm many a time after the death of his daughter and the death of his wife in hopes to see them again. But after years of not finding them he had given up and moved on. The mage spotted the Crow and the Alpha wolf, he smiled as he approached them 'So, You must be the brave Flint that I have been told to fetch. I must say I have never seen such a noble bird' he said keeping his distance. He would need to be cautious, he sensed that dark magic had been at play in the birds life and he would not trust any human or wizard easily. Also it must be strange for him, the entire world he had created for himself was comprised of beings he had known in his life, and now a stranger was there, someone he didn't recognize. Constantine needed to remain very careful not to cause this illusion to collapse into a Nightmaresque world, Thank the gods one of his spells went haywire and caused his ears to slightly pointed, this would obscure the human resemblance a little

So, those bodies had been disposed of. And quiet quickly too. No matter. The rest were already digging deep into the earth they had almost found it. Found the darkness. The Name needed more. It needs more to scream into the darkness. The Name had to spread. To grow stronger. It sent itself into the woods, to find more. It needde to find more people. Animals were good and fine but not nearly as strong voiced as a human. Of course The Name wouldn't turn down a weak minded woodland beast. The Name could feel it. The Darkness was close.

(I Assume Lena is back at the Inn)

Lena slowly opened her eyes, as she let out a moan, curling up on her bed

"My head..." She said quietly, coughing lightly. She slowly sat iom, soon standing up. Her legs were shaky, and her look was wavy.

Flint's head twisted in discontent at the sight of this stranger. He had no idea who this person was, all he wanted to know was how he got here and how to get rid of him.

The alpha kindly spoke to the stranger,
"Hello sir!"

"Silence!" squawked Flint.

The wolf lowered its head in fear. Flint, scanning the stranger in detest, had a feeling his 'other half' was involved with bringing this odd person into his realm. The bird, acting like he had not seen Constantine, said to the wolf, "Come Alpha! Kyngerz said he would teach me how to fight with a sword today."

"But what about the stranger?" protested the Alpha.

"There is no stranger!" Flint insisted in spite of the fact that there definitely was.

Flint prayed that Constantine had only been a fluke in his mind that would soon disappear; never to darken the bird's world again.

"I told you to leave me alone!" Flint said venomously to his 'other half'. "You have no place here!"

Constantine smiled and approached them 'Hello Noble Wolf, I am sorry for the fate you endured and you have my condolences for your son.'He said to the wolf, petting its head before looking back to the crow with a raised eyebrow.'The Kings Plague does not teach, as the Palsiet were not created to teach anything. Is it not strange Flint? That everything has been perfect recently, and yet your conscience has been asking you to deny this place as if it wasn't real? And then I approach, knowing who you are despite you not knowing who I am? May I sit down?' he sat down without answer and took out a small pouch of sunflower seeds, eating them in waiting and offering some to the wolf.

As Lena made her way to the Inn's tavern, she did start to pant, and leaned on the wall. The encounter with the spirit has weakened her severely. She thought that maybe Schmendrick might help her

"S---Schmendrick?!" She called out in a weak voice, sitting down, leaning against a wall, her face going pale.

Schmendrick turned from Belisair to see Lena, once again in a weakened state. He shot up from his chair and rushed over to the elf. He kneeled down so he was level with her. "Lena! What's wrong?" @JJKab

"I/.. Just finished talking... to the spirit... It appeared that Constantine has gone through the portal... to talk to our little bird.... i... I am not strong enough to even remotely try, but I.... I... I think the spirit will be satisfied..." Lena smirked weakly, looking into Schmendrick's eyes

"We've.... I think we've done it..."

The wolf gobbled the seeds with gusto and kindly said, "Thank you stranger."

Flint, looking in anger at the Alpha eating out of the strangers hand, menacingly said, "Alpha! Stop that!"

The Alpha cowered and obediently walked back to the bird's side. The bird, with his wings, moved the wolf's head towards the stranger and said to it, "There is no one there!"

"But what about the nice stranger?" the wolf said.

"Don't question me! You do not see anyone. Say it. SAY IT NOW!"

The wolf shivered and agreed, "I do not see anyone there."

"Goodie! Now let's head back to Kyngerz. As I was saying before, he is going to teach me how to fight!"

Flint proudly proceeded to walk away from Constantine, convinced he had bested the odd stranger!

"We've.... I think we've done it..."
Schmendrick sighed, a smile returning to his face. Lena was was alright. As far as the mention of a bird friend though, that was a bit confusing. Schmendrick looked to Freud who also looked to Schmendrick, and then it clicked! Flint was it? That's right. The magician patted Lena on the back and smiled. "You did good kid, you did good. Now, how about you come join us at the table?" Schmendrick offered Lena his hand.

Constantine sighed and remained seated 'See, the trickiest thing about the realm of spirits is that you can make everything perfect, and you are right. I am not here, or at least I shouldn't be.' he flicked his hand and the doors shut, locking them all inside 'Your friends miss you Flint, Kyngerz released his full power to kill the wolf that crushed your frail body, he changed into a dragon and fought head on with Belsair who thought that the Palsiet killed you. And now I am here to return you home from the spirit realm.' he explained with his usual smile as he got up. 'I am the Grand Mage Constantine Feeblis, I fought along side Kyngerz in the Grand war of Races, and I assure you he cannot teach anyone anything.' he said introducing himself.

Lena nodded, slowly taking Schmendrick's hand, as she stood up, still a little weak. She wrapped her arm around the bard, still not being able to walk quite easily. She slowly let him walk her to the chair/

Schmendrick helped Lena to her feet, bearing most of the weight as he walked her over to the table where Belisair sat. He pulled out a chair from the table and helped Lena into it. The magician then proceeded to take a seat next to her and kick his feet up onto the table. "And now we wait..." Schmendrick seemed to muse absentmindedly as he strummed on his lute. Each pluck of the strings sent a miniature ethereal imp floating into the air. The illusory imp's tap danced in the air before dissipating into nothingness, Schmendrick laughed quietly to himself.

Lena smiled thankfully at Schmendrick as he helped her sit down. She leaned on it, and closed her eyes, her breathing slowing down.

Flint angrily turned back to the stranger. His beak chattered slightly as he yelled, "I can't hear you! You don't exist! Grand Mage Constantine Feeblis! Ha! Worst title ever!"

Flint shook his head roughly, making a feather fly off his sweating body which stabbed a thick tree trunk. The quill jabbed deep into the hard pine tree causing the trunk to split open. The Alpha gazed at the cross bird, fearing another outburst. The wolf felt uneasy at the remark made by the stranger about being killed.

Flint, noticing the Alpha's anxiety, patted the wolf's head tenderly and said the stranger,
"Everything is perfect because it is perfect! I am here! I am alive and I do not want you nor anyone else putting those bad thoughts into my friend's mind. Stay away from me and my friends Grand Master Ass Face! You have no power here!"
