Fantasy The Shifters

Legacy looked around at all the Shifters. She felt crowded after being alone for so long. She glanced at Winter, then Dawn, glad that they were so nice.

"ugh Geez, could you stop with the poking? Ben got up, Rubbing where he got poked. He then sprinted outside and "shifted' into his animal form and hid behind some trees, it was hard with his animal size due to it being 20 metres long but the large trees, but they successfully hid him. He had never roared before so he just screamed making a Huge Racket scaring the crows from a tree coinciding with the common cliche. "Wow!" He whispered trying to shut up.

Out of nowhere, a small black thing fell out of a tree as the Crows scattered. The thing landed pretty hard, and lay still on the ground. Upon examination, it would seem to be a young gryphon.

Riku opened her eyes slowly everything was blurred and the sounds felt distant to her ears... "w..where am I?" she mermaid a fever making her thoughts scrambled and mixed together, "what I'm in my human form?! what happened?!" she started panicking and squirming around in the bed shifting forms a few times in the process ending up back as a human. @Summer Dotty

Since it didn't seem like the girl would open the door, Victor gave up on trying to make her, "Well, I'll just return to my room" He said to Ero before he started to walk down the stairs, he didn't acctually have a room at the inn, he lived out in the forest, spending most of his time flying and looking down at it from above in his animal form, however he didn't want to tell Ero about that.

After Victor had left the inn he turned into his animal form and decided to fly over the forest once again, he'd merely been flying for a few minutes until he saw something which catched his interest lying on the ground, it seemed to be, a bird? But there seemed to be something different about it, it was larger than usual, and it had four legs? He dived down and landed behind a few trees a bit away from the creature, he turned back to human and on closer inspection it appeared to be a gryphon, it wasn't that large so he assumed that it was at least a youngster one. Was it a fellow shifter or was it a wild gryphon though was the question that made him keep his distance, if it was a wild one the parents were sure to be close and fighting a fullgrown gryphon was suicide, and he wouldn't be able to outspeed one in flight so Victor just kept his distance and inspected the gryphon.

The little gryphon was laying on the ground, and chirruped from time to time, seemingly asleep. She suddenly opened her eyes and looked around lazily. She caught a glimpse of something looking at her, but she didn't act like she noticed. She nibbled at her back leg for a moment, then stood, favouring the leg she nibbled. She began to limp roughly in the same direction of the thing she spotted.

The gryphon opened its eyes and stood up, it nibbled on its leg a little and as it started moving towards him it seemed to be limping. Victor couldn't stand watching it like this, it was barely up to his waist and it's back leg seemed to be damaged pretty bad for it to be limping. He walked out of his hiding spot behind the tree and knelt down, trying not to look threatening with a calm face.

The gryphon heard him moving and she froze, her golden eyes locked on him as he moved. Once he grew still, and she decided he didn't seem threatening, she limped her way forwards... Upon closer inspection, her leg was stained red a little. It was hard to see, due to her already dark colouring. She looked at him curiously.

Victor held out his hand, inviting it to get closer, he wanted to take a closer look at it's leg to see whether he could fix it immediately or if he could carry it back to the village to let a doctor, or vet rather, treat it. "Come on, I'm not going to hurt you" He spoke with a calm voice.

She cautiously stepped closer, and when he spoke, she seemed to relax a lot more. She happily trot her way up to him and sniffed his hand. She kept her injured leg off the ground as much as possible. She ruffled her wings a little, just to get them comfortable after having been laying on one a moment ago.

Victor carefully put his hand on its head and stroked its feathers, they sure were smooth even though it'd been lying on the ground. "Would you mind if I look at that leg of yours?" He asked, not expecting an answer he just leaned over and looked at its backside, not wanting to touch the leg since it could hurt the gryphon.

She produced a chirrup-like sound and leant into the head rubbing. She flicked her head around and nibbled gently on his hand, as a sign of thanks. Them she accepted more head rubbing.

Victor kept rubbing the gryphon's head as he slowly and carefully moved his other hand towards the feathers on the backleg where he now saw blood running down, he carefully separated a few of the feathers and as expected so was there a wound, not very deep but deep enough to pain the creature, it was still bleeding which wasn't good, he leant back and tore off his right sleeve from the elbow down, he tied it around the leg to stop the bleeding. "There, that should work for now"

She chirruped at the pain as he applied the makeshift bandage. But, she didn't tear a chunk of fresh out of his arm, so that's a good sign. She nuzzled up to his hand again.

Victor was surprised that the gryphon hadn't attacked him or at least bit him as he applied the bandage, when he was done he just sat down and played with the gryphon, "Hopefully so will your wound heal within a day or two, although I still wonder, where are your parents?" Victor was still worried about the parents of the gryphon returning and ripping him to shreds, he shivered at the thought.

She suddenly morphed. "they turfed me out. Didn't want a shifter as a child. So I've been living with this lovely couple for a few weeks." she said plainly, like it was no big deal.

Victor fell backwards when the gryphon suddenly turned into a young girl, "Woah!" He sat back up "So you are a shifter, why didn't you just shift earlier, and what couple?" Victor had just assumed that the gryphon was just a regular gryphon since it hadn't transformed yet.

"I didn't change because I prefer my animal form. It's Warmer with feathers and fur. And the couple of gryphons who live nearby. They're sweet."

Victor stood back up, he assumed that the girl was around 12-13 years of age, she had dark black hair and amber eyes, "Hmph, well what were you doing here on the ground then if you have a place to live in nearby then?"

She also stood, avoiding the use of her injured leg. "I went for a walk, and decided to take a nap. I was pretty safe. There's poison ivy all over this little spot. Also, I can't fly yet. Neither of them were home, so I couldn't hitch a ride to the nest."

Victor offered to carry the girl on his back since it seemed like her leg still hurt and his shoulder was a bit too high up, "So everytime you go home you have to call on them? Why not just live in the village?"

"there's a village?" after a moment, she shifted back to her gryphon form and leapt up into his arms. She was easier to carry this way. She wriggled around to get comfortable.

"Woah!" Victor nearly fell backwards from her jump, he then looked at her in his arms and smiled, "Yeah, it's just over here" He was just about to turn into his animal form when he remembered "Oh yeah, no flying skills" So he started running through the trees instead, swiftly jumping over roots and ducking under branches.
