The Price of Peace

Sage shook her head as Kat hopped a long and followed her. She often thought Kat was like a duckling. He would follow her anywhere she went. Really he could. He would follow Kai anywhere he went too. He would do it with his cute little grin and messy mop of hair.

"Just enough." Sage told Kat. More like what they normally got. Veggies, meats, things for the pantry. "What kind of dessert did you want Kat?" Sage offered the boy. She would make anything he asked really. She loved Kat and really she was content with just cooking anything. However he will eat lunch with dessert and not just sweets.

They eventually made it to the store and Sage picked up a cart.

Kat perked up even more when she asked him about the desert "Oh anything chocolate!" he said happily "Its been so long since you cooked chocolate things," she probably stopped because of how much energy he had without the sugar rush. When she said just enough grocceries he knew it wouldn't be alot and he was happy with that as well.

"We can make mini cakes! Kai likes those too!" Kat said and Kai was not huge into sweets he prefered coffee or tea over sugary food though Kat was right he did like cupcakes. KAt hugged Sage from behind "what would you like?"

Sage paused a moment and looked up to see where they needed to go. Noodles.. dairy. Most likely come cereal. They were running low on eggs. The mental list continued as Kat talked about what he wanted. She just listened to the basic part, which was 'Chocolate Cup Cakes.' She could do cupcakes, it was one of the easiest things she could manage really.

Sage was about to step forward when Kat locked his arms around her stomach and pulled her back to his chest. She felt her head nestled right under his chin. Her hands still holding the handles of the cart. His question left his lips so smoothly that her mind started to wonder places that may not be appropriate for a public place. With the sudden affectionate hug and questions of what she wanted, it could only yelled a casual sexual flirt.

She turned her head enough to look up at Kat, her trade mark mischievous grin well in place, "I want you... with whip cream and a cherry on top." She said almost with a purr. These bold remarks were natural to Sage and were not always just reserved for her lovers. However Kat was as frivolous as she was, they had been sleeping together long before they became boyfriend and girlfriend. Their relationship was very physical, unlike with Kai who only occasionally got physical.

Kat held Sage to his chest her warm body so soft and smaller then his even if it wasn't by an aweful lot. He could smell her shampoo and the smell that was uniquely hers blending. She smiled at him making his grin in a more mischievous way he had not intended this to go to a more sexual tone however, it seemed his lover had a different direction.

Then she purred a line he so loved hearing. "Well then lets not forget the whip cream," he told her "will you let me have you as a dessert too?" he asked "I would love to lick every inch of your sweet body," he purred and squeezed her tightly to him "Of course, I want strawberries," he leaned down and kissed her neck softly, he knew her neck was very sensitive so he loved to place soft kisses there or nips even caress. Kat knew they were getting stares and it only exited him more to know he and Sage's public affection was so captivating.

As Kat knew, when he place the light kiss on Sage's neck, her body involuntarily shivered. Sage was just as pleased with the public attention they got from their relationship. This was one of the biggest reasons she loved Kat. He was always game for things like this. He would do just about anything with her. Unlike Kai, who is usually up for a good joke, strays from anything of this kind in public. If he was in the mood, he would be willing to do it.

However the reason Kai's part in their relationship was secret... was because of his place in the public eye. Granted he was not a big head figure, but worked in the Main Base and had to keep up a face. He was good at his job and was aiming to get on the council. Kai was afraid that their relationship could taint his reputation. In all honesty, Sage could understand. People could be very close minded... and having a girlfriend that looked like a guy... but an actual boyfriend too. Most mother's would faint. Not her mother though, she would proububly just smile and say she saw it working out for the best. Point is... Kai needed to keep up a strong image that was acceptable.

Kat and Sage however... could do pretty much whatever they wanted. Including this. "Would we really... if I got whip cream?" Sage asked. Her grin was still very present, however she would quite enjoy an afternoon romp while waiting for cupcakes to cook.

Kat chuckled "Why my lovely, you know we would, and I would enjoy every second, even now imagining you and I covered in the sweet white cream lapping each others skin in such a way makes me wish more for this," Kat purred he licked the spot he kissed she tasted like Sage, which Kat much liked he always thought she tasted like tea, saying she drank so much she was beginning to sweat it.

Kat leaned on her pushing hier into the cart lightly "You know... we got the apartment to ourselves, we can do it by the window, so everyone can be jealous." Kat really was serious to a certain extent Sage was a woman but so few people knew that and that was how Sage liked it so he kept it like that. However her licking it off him where people could see could happen of course only shirtless he had some form of decency.

Sage laughed out loud as well, her grin ever more present as Kat continued to dirty talk her. She felt his breath brush her neck and him press her closer to him. She really did like the sound of that, however she had every plan to fight Kat for dominance. Like she did all the time. He won a lot.. she won a lot. Sometimes they had mutual rumps. Oh and her favorite were the ones where they made bets with each other. Sage and Kat were always good on their word to each other. That couldn't be said for anyone else they gave their words to.

Sage of course pushed the cart forward more, "Let's go get some whip cream." She declared to Kat.

Grocery shopping took about a total of 20 minutes. Sage got a bit more than she told Kat she would, so he ended up carrying more than he proububly thought he would. However... they did get whipped cream... and they didn't quite wait for Sage to start anything. It was mostly the fact Sage couldn't wait. Sage won this round of frolicking as they called it. However the whip cream was a bit messy, so they had to shower.

Needless to say.. Kai's lunch was a whole hour and a half late. Sage tried to make it up to him by bringing him some of the good coffee from their own home instead of the office stuff at his work. She also added some coffee flavor to a couple of the cupcakes just for Kai. She put his name on the top so Kat knew which ones were not his.

When lunch was over, Kat and Sage said their goodbyes to Kai. They were hoping to be back late night. So he would either already be in bed, or still up doing whatever he wanted. He just turned in the paper work deadline today, so it was not like he had anything super pressing to do tonight. Either way, they promised to try and be home tonight.

When they left, they immediately caught the bus to the medical facility to pick up the antivenom that they had put on order just in case. Sage wanted to be prepared.

Kat smiled when she went off happily to get the wipped cream. They ended up getting alot but Kat really didn't mind his mind was on the fun they'd have when they got home. Fun they did indeed have, Sage won the war for dominance this time but Kat always had another oppertunity to best her and alway took them in strides. The shower together was relaxing though he of course he knew they;d be late to see Kai and the boy would be very cross.

Kai was indeed angry when Sage showed up late no call or anything. KAi was about to lecture her when she handed him coffee and as always he quieted down to drink. His day had been hectic of course it was all his fault since he procrastinated his work so much. He was not worried about the mission he would stay up and wait for them to get home when Sage told him she'd try to get them home that night. He could always count on her to keep Kat out of danger and Kat would always protect her they were a good team.

"Be safe," he told them after they ate and he thanked sage for his special cupcakes. KAt was in higher spirits after the meal his tummy full and happy and his head buzzing from sugar. When they got the antivenom he pocketted it in his bag so they would know it was safe. He looked at Sage she knew what seer they needed to go to so he'd let her lead the way.

Sage and Kat started to make their way to the Central. It was essentially like an airport. You get your gate number and destination... then go find your gate. It is like that, but without the wait because as soon as you got there, you just needed to open a gate and go through to the other side of the veil.... where normal people lived. Normal, blind people.

"Our seers name is Terra… She’s 57. We will let her know we will probably have no need to stay the night.” Sage said as they walked into the area.

Eventually they arrived to a gate. Their gate keeper they had was someone Sage was not familiar with. Probably a new kid who just started the job. Giving the kid her PI and watching Kat hand over his, the kid swiped them through a machine and pressed a few buttons. Going through the some safety procurers, ‘press the emergency button when we need help’ and ‘If you need to bring a guest be sure to send a request before bring them.’ Etc. etc. The normal precautions when out in the other world.

After he was done, the kid handed back their PIs and they walked through the open portal. Going through the portal prepared for them, Sage glanced around her. Everyone saw something different when they go through portals; it’s like a dream that lasts for 5 seconds. Whenever Sage went through the portal, she always saw lights. They looked kind of like wisps, and their was always three of them.

When they got through, the cold felt like a slap in the face. Sage felt her body give an involuntary shiver. "Oh my god... it is so cold!" Sage said clasping her arms around herself.

Kat smiled "Terra, I think we saw her once?" Kat asked hearing her name he never paid much attention to the gatekeeper he knew the rules and obeyed them for the most part. He always handed over his P.I after a few minutes of rummaging it always ended up in the hardest to get to part of his bag it never failed. He was exited about the mission but his favorite part was the act of going through the portal he saw trees and grass and sunshine things he loved to see and be in. KAt was not a city kid so he always liked getting out. He never really asked what others saw because to him it seemed almost private.

Once through the cold air hit him and he shivered. "Oh it is cold!" he said and laughed "We;ll warm up when we get moving around though," he told Sage he looked around the area maping it in his mind like always. "Wonder if it'll be cold inside the lighthouse... since its so high up?" he asked idly the cold was an annoyance but of course he wasn't going to complain alot took too much effort.

"I rather put a jacket on or somthing!" Sage said almost exasperated. She wrapped her arms around herself and even stepped back into Kat looking for warmth. She shivered lightly as well. For some odd reason girls always seemed to get cold more quicker then boys. In fact men in general were like space heaters. Thats why winter was awesome... she had two of them. One for each side.

"You two cold?" A women said walking into the room they appeared in. It must be Terra their seer. "I have some coats you can borrow." It was her job after all to provide Amity with things to the best of their ability. There was a map in the room of the city. It was a very large one, most Seers had one for quick reference for any Amity. Specially ones who come for emergencies. The blond haired girl smiled at them before walking over to a closet and opening it.

"Oh yes... please." Sage murmured.

KAt smiled when sage pressed into him he;d let her take all the heat she wanted he really wasn't all too bothered. When the lady walked up Kat grinned and greeted her with a wave. She offered coats and of course they needed them "We didn;t expect it to be cold we;ll return them in the best condition possible," Kat told the woman as he looked at the map letting Sage go get the coats.

"Wow ... large city, wheres the lighthouse?" Kat asked looking at all the roads and crosstreets and trying to get familiar with the main roads in case he needed to run or if they got lost. Kat looked pretty relaxed in fact he almost looked like he was about to take a leisure walk instead of exterminate pests.

Sage walked over to Terra and took the coats from her. She bundled herself up first, taking the warmth. The coats were leather. Sage really wasn't too big into leather. Leather always brought more inappropriate things to mind. Of course leather was a pretty innocent thing in the long run. Just everything that was 'innocent' at one point usually gets ruined by Sage. Sage also took some nice warm hats from Terra as well. As much as she wanted gloves as well, she needed her hands for scythe swinging.

When she was done getting bundled up, Sage walked over to Kat and handed him his own things while he memorized the map.

Terra walked over to the map before pointing at the edge of it. "Here... this is the lighthouse." Of course there was a large red pin for where they were on the map. They were not that far from the lighthouse really. "I can give you two a ride there if you would like." Terra offered brightly, "Should I prepare for you both to spend the night at all?" She asked.

"A ride would be nice, I think.." Sage answered. It was up to Kat if he wanted to walk or not. She was ok with walking really. It was not like a bit of walking would tire them out at all. "And also, we'll be heading home as soon as we are done." Terra nodded with a pleasant smiled, "Need anything to eat before you go?"

"No, we ate before we got here as well. Thank you." Sage said, thanking her again. Seers proububly had a pain in the ass job, having to cater to every Amity that came around. Seemed like a hard job.

Kat finished the memorizing before putting on the coat and hat "Thank you for the clothes," Kat said and smiled "The ride would be nice," he agreed no point in walking in the cold if they didn't have to Sage would have thrown a fit when the temperature dropped more. He was still worried about her state of mind neer the water though she told KAi she was fine. Really those two got the awards for best liars when it came to the phrase I'm ok.

Kat took Sage's hand and smiled when she told Terra they'd be going home "we hope you don;t think us rude," Kat said "or ungreatful, we really are greatful for you helping us out," he knew alot of seers were retired and had this job before so showing them respect was always a good thing. You never know who will be the next person to save your hide.

Terra smiled at the two and shook her head at Kat's statement, even laughing a bit. "Not at all. If I was looking for someone to spend the night with me then I would go out and get a boyfriend." Terra joked with a smile. Sage smiled at the joke and laughed to herself, "That is a true statement." Terra was an older women... but older meant more experienced. Sage was still never sure if it was possible to cheat on Kai... she knew it wasn't on Kat, as long as he was invited. Terra smiled, mostly because she saw Kat reach for Sage's hand told hold. Sage held it, but mostly a little bit behind her back.

"Come on this way, we'll get you guys straight to work.. I can see you are absolutely dying to get out. Your friend less so..." Terra said before grabbing her key. Sage made a face, Terra was very perceptive... but what do you expect from a retired Amity. She had proububly seen more battles then they have in her day and more missions that would take Sage and Kat as long as her to complete.

Walking outside was like walking into an ice wall. For Sage anyway... Terra looked pretty comfortable. Eventually they got into a jeep the speed off into the city. Terra pointed out a few places she was sure they could go eat after if they wanted or the stores around the area if they needed to shop as well. Sage didn't really think there was anything they needed out of Aria.

Eventually they made it to the lighthouse. It was very tall. It was about as tall as the amity apartment complex. However it was as wide as their living room. There was a small house next to it, a man was coming out of it. He was kind of tall and had black hair. "Most likely the owner of the light house. Pate... if I remember correctly." Sage said getting out of the jeep. The ocean was very loud, it make her feel uneased, but she tried to not let her bother her. The goal was to stay calm for Kat.

"Good luck you too. Call if you need anything." Terra asked with a salute. Sage nodded and waved Terra off.

Kat chuckled at Terra's joke. "A fine woman like you won't have any problems hooking a male." Kat knew a fellow player when he saw one. Sage hid their entwined hands and Kat chuckled lightly. Sage was the cutest thing ever. Kat saw Sage was thinking and he leaned in to whisper something but Terra noticed how ready he was to set out and he just smiled. He'd joke with Sage later.

When they went outside Kat shivered "Brrr, its cold," he said. "You got to have a fire inside you Terra to stay warm in this," He went to the jeep getting in and snuggling neer Sage to share heat or at least warm up. Sad thing was Sage was less tolerant to heat then him but he was the one who was acting a bit like a child. He looked at all the places Terra pointed out thinking about getting Kai a suvineer. See if they had any rare coffee's for him to try.

When they got to the lightoues Kat whistled "It's pretty tall," he commented then he saw the man shuffle towards them "The owner huh?" KAt asked idly. He crossed his arms "wonder if he's gonna be nice or not?"

"I figured hes proububly freaked out seeing giant creatures in his light house...." Sage lowered her voice a bit for her response, since Pate was getting ever closer with his every step. He was bundled up like Sage and Kat, if not more. He looked nothing like Terra who seemed to just walk out into the cold like she was made of the snow itself. Pate even seemed to be shivering a bit as well.

"Cold much?" Sage joked when he walked up. She gave him a a bright friendly smile. Kat knew it was fake, as Sage didn't really smile all that much like Kai. Kai and Sage were so much a like at times it was rather scary. It was proububly why the clashed as much as got together well. They did have a lot of differences however.

Pate didn't look as pleasant as Sage has attempted too. "You guys are the people are supposed to help?" He asked. He did sound just a bit freaked out. Who could blame him.. his light house was infested with creatures that were not normal. He was proububly told they were some dangerous animal by the scout team and told not to go back into the house.

Sage nodded slowly, "Yep." Ravenrs were known for being cold blooded.. so nesting in warm places were what they did. The light house was most likely exceptionally warm. Now that Sage thought about it... they could turn the thermostat down to cold and warm them down. Though it would make them slow, Kat might not find it as challenging. Unlike her counterpart, she liked when things were laid in front of her. She liked different kind of challenges... none that her life rode on.

Kat nodded in agreance to Sage if he didn't know what they were he would have freaked out too after all some of them got pretty big. He watched the man come up to them the man in his opinion looked a bit like a pushover or maybe he was just so scared he looked pathetic. Seeing him shiver he wondered why Terra was so immune to the cold. Originally he thought she was just used to it now he thought there may be a deeper reason maybe something when she was Amity.

Kat smirked at Sages joke but the man seemed un-amused. Even with Sage giving him one of her pleasant fake smiles. Kat took pride in the fact he stole alot of her real smiles to himself. Kai was the same way but his fake smile could be rather frightening in how sweet it looked. KAt looked again to the man though he stayed pretty silent. When Pate asked if they were the help Kat grinned "Yep we are," Kat said when Sage said her simple Yep.

He looked to the lighthouse wondering how they lived long enough to get into it with how cold it was outside. Maybe carried in? Wouldn't that be something. Nah they were probably nested in there when it was warm and stayed because it was still warm.

"Just... show us to the door and will take care of your pest problem without further delay!" Sage said brightly. More like she wanted to get the hell out of the cold and away from the sound of the ocean. She could escape that inside the lighthouse... and even better the faster they did this, the faster she got home. Kat could tell she was eager to get this done.. anyone else would just think she was enthusiastic. Pate seemed to not really react at all to Kat or Sage.

"Thank you." Pate said before turning around and strutting up to the lighthouse door. He opened it before walking into the room.

Sage was not sure if that was a good idea or not. They could be anywhere in that tower. Honestly she expected the moment Pate opened the door a Ravener was going to jump out and drag him in, eating him alive. There would be a lot of screaming and guts... then Sage and Kat would get an earful for letting an innocent get hurt. "Uh Mr. Pate, please don't go in there." Really it was much too late for her to even say anything....

Sage followed behind him, pulling dagger out. The Lighthouse proved to be a bit too small for a scythe. Though the circular room they stood in now there was quite a bit of room to swing her scythe in. The stair wells that lead up or down however, not so much.

In the room around them was full of tools, tables and buckets. It was spacious and.. to Sage's hope, warm. The stares were old stone and a bit slanted from being old and worn. The light house was showing it's age well. However for a large number of 30 to 40 Raveners... it was strange that there was nothing on this floor. "Uh.. where are they?" Sage asked finally.

"They mostly stay on the upper floors." Pate informed them. He seemed to really loosen up now that it was much warmer. "But I think there are a few downstairs, in the basement."

Sage nodded slowly, looking around. "Where is your thermostat?" She was going to turn it down anyway... they may honestly kill them all before it even made a difference. Even if Kat was a bit disappointed, but really Sage didn't feel comfortable in closed spaces that she couldn't use her preferred weapon. If something did happen to Kat... she needed to be able to fight till she could get them to safety.

"The basement." He answered, pointing downward.

Sage looked to Kat, mostly hopping he already caught on to what she wanted to do.

Kat looked at Sage he knew she was ready to get home most likely she would cuddle with him and Kai tonight to get the memory of the cold out of her head. Lat would prefer to take his time he was never in a rush he didn't see the point after all he made less mistakes taking it steady and slow.

Like Sage Kat was weary of him going into the house. "Is there a place you can stay not around here till we get it cleaned out? for your safety as well as ours," KAt said even though Pate said they were upstairs and in the basement he would rather the man not be neer them because when they started fighting there was a chance of the prey trying to rush and hide in new places.

Kat looked around the tools would make good makeshift weapons if he lost a dagger in the fight. He was looking for anywhere a small Raver might hide caution made living a lot easier in their kind of work. Kat caught on to Sages plan of turning down the temperature. Not only would it kill anything they didn't it would make the ones they would be fighting a bit more slugish. Kat nodded to Sage a wordless approval to her thought.

Sage was about to tell Pate to stay where he was, but he was already heading down the stairs. "Uh, Mr. Pate!" Sage said almost running forward to follow him. "You should stay behind." The man didn't really answer as he walked down, he just looked behind him and threw a rather chastising look for Sage's tone.

When they got downstairs, Sage felt like it was hard to breath because of how hot it was. She looked around the area, completely ready to attack anything to come out. The basement had a few tables with stuff on it, a dresser with mirrors on top of it.There were no Raveners there at the moment. Walking over to the wall where the thermostat was, Sage turning it down as cold as she could. She then noticed the ground was dirt instead of wood, and there was a chains on the wall, they looked like they were recently put there. “What the…” She started to asked.

Before Sage could completely ask the question, there was a loud screeching noise upstairs. Loud banging started to descend down the stairs. It sounded like a bunch of people scratching wooden walls. Sage was confused for a moment as to what was happening, what the noise was, but then it hit her, “Kat.. They are coming.” She knew she just told Kat what he already knew but she felt the need to see it, Sage was absolutely stricken with fear, they were trapped down here, and it sounded like every Ravener was coming down the stairs at the same time.

Turning to Mr. Pate to tell him to get him to safety Sage nearly dropped her dagger. There in front of her was a Level C demon, and on the floor was the skin of what use to be a Mr. Pate. This was a Demon that looked much like the Raveners except he was much bigger and had several human arms among his long and dangerous claws.

She did the only thing she thought she could and that was to warn Kat, “Kat, it's a trap!”

Mr. Pate, the demon, swung one of his massive claws at Sage. Sage managed to pull her dagger up to try and deflect most of the damage but he flung her into the wall next to the stair well. She nearly hit Kat, in fact Pate was trying to hit him, but luckily he missed. The impact took the air out of Sage's lungs. Gasping for air Sage gripped her dagger and threw it at the demon, but he deflected it with one of his claws. The sound of all the Raveners coming down the stairs was only getting louder. This was a trap and they fell for it…

Kat rushed after sage something was so wrong with this guy shouldn't he be scared? KAt followed letting Sage do all the fretting he was thinking to much. The basment was so hot Kat was starting to sweat a bit already. "Wow... does it have to be this hot?" he asked but then things went from strange to unnerving and them to plain dangerous.

Before he could even register the chains he heard the raveners and Sages warning. "Sage!" he yelled when he felt her get flung he drew his daggers to fight the Raveneer horde. He had yet to analize the C rank demon and he was cursing because he felt and was cornered. He hoped Sage was ok, but he couldn't save her if he was dead so he had to focus on staying alive as the horde was rushing down the stairs.

Sage got up a bit wobbly before several Raveners rushed into the room. One of their claws whacked Sage rather good in the head, making her world go black. Kat immediately got jumped by several Raveners. There was hardly any time before Pate reached out to Kat and knocked him out as well, letting his body fell limp.

When Kat woke up, his hands were in the chains on the wall. Next to him was Sage, her head leaning on him still out cold. Pate, or the giant level C demons continued to walk about the area. He was pulling things from the walls like blades and such. Kat's weapons were on the ground several feet away from him, Sage's daggers even more so. However Sage's Scythe was still folded up on her back, Pate probably didn't know it was a weapon. Sage also had lockpicks in her shoes, it was in a secret compartment.

Another thing Kat noticed is that the lighthouse was very cold. In fact the Raveners were starting to move slowly. They were very sluggish, even Pate seemed to not being doing so well. Sage however was feeling a bit feverish from lying against him. Kat however felt pretty hurt... he wasn't sure, but he may have had a cracked or bruised rib or two. Maybe a little of both.

When Sage woke, it was only 5 minutes or so after Kat. Everything was still stifling hot in the room for her. When she felt the chains, she tried to pull her feet behind her, near Kat's hands so he could get a hold of the lock picks.

"Ah, I see you two are awake." Pate said, he sounded almost as cold as he looked. His large body was starting to shake. He seemed like he was in a hurry though. He had a clever in his hand, "You two are just very lucky... I am going to start collecting Amity Hearts...you get to be the first victims of our ritual." The other Raveners were standing in the room patiently... there was only three of them in the back of the room however.

Sage hissed at him lowly, "As if we'd let you kill us so easily."

Kat couldn't counter the attack and fell almost without a fight. The boy was of course the first to rise. Licking dry lips and looking around eyes blurred. Where? Oh right he was in an ambush. He saw Sage next to him still out he was unarmed his daggers in the floor a mental curse he couldn't get her scythe and if he could he wouldn't be able to use it like this and he couldn't reach her lockpicks.

When she woke he tried to stay silent hoping the demon would not notice they woke. Sage moved putting her foot to the wall making her picks closer easier to access however before he could get them the demon spoke. Was this guy serious? As he seemed distracted Kat grabbed the picks praying he wasn't caught. "Hearts huh?" Kat asked with a laugh his voice was a bit horse from a dry throat. The area was so oddly cold how was the demon handling it much less the bugs.

Kat was already working on Sages locks as he coud do it useing her body as a shield unlike his own. He looked at the three Raveres in the back judging his chances.

Sage was not sure what her first move should be when Kat finishes with her lock. She tuned out Pate as he started to talk to them. Oddly it was a bit hard to concentrate. Should she attack the Reveners as soon as she was free? Should she try and free Kat? She mentally tired to prepare herself for the battle about to come.

"Yes, Hearts." Pate said before walking across the room and looking at the other knives on the walls. "You two have to be awake for it, but we can start now. Which one of you want to go first?" His long legs easily paced the dirt ground before pulling out some paint and pouring it out over the ground. He was now starting to draw a demonic symbol.

With him distracted, Sage decided to take the pins from Kat after he free'd her. She turned and immediately started working on him. Reveners were not bright, so they didn't know what they were doing. They just stayed in the corner most likely because Pate told them to. Sage was able to pick the lock quickly and Kat's binds came off without a hitch.
