Realistic or Modern The Price of Freedom

Cupid raised her hand at Shade's question. "Oh, oh! Cupid can swim. Don't know how that helps if all of us can't swim however. Maybe a boat? Wait, no, we're runaways, where would we find a boat. Some of us could carry each other? No, never mind." she muttered to herself, not expecting anyone to hear what she was saying; she was used to rambling out loud, and to everyone ignoring said ramblings. "Shade, what do you think?"

"Whether or not we can swim is irrelevant in the case of water hiding scents," Rialla suddenly spoke.

When they debarked she had primarily stayed at the back after having relieved the guards and raided to onboard compartment of all the shells. Sure, it meant the rest were left with revolvers and handguns, but they probably had less trigger discipline than her anyway. Having followed them to the bank and listened to them speak of swimming, it had done little but fill her mind with images of fools flailing in the water as they drowned. Which is why she;d spoken up.

"We can wade through the shallows until we find either another route, or a crossing. Also, rid yourself of any excess clothes here, trailing the bank in the same direction that we'll go. They know we're smart, they'll expect us to try to trick them into going the wrong way and will go opposite. Reverse psychology and the like. Finally, we need better clothes."

Finishing her words Rialla turned her back to her compatriots and stripped off her shirt, not bothering to check if she was stared at. She then proceeded to tear off the sleeves and use a small pocket knife she'd lifted off an officer to fashion a crop top before gathering the tatters left over for her plan.

Simon Johnson peeked his head into his partners office, "Hey, Codegan, we gotta go. There was a break-out on a bus, it was transporting a full load of convicts to a max security prison- you know, the real nasty types. We're still waiting on a list of exactly who was on the bus, but we should go work on trying to track 'em down before the trail gets cold and it becomes actual work."

Jacks hair stood up straight at the mention of swimming. Hell, he could swim, but he hated water. Feared it, actually, since he almost drowned in it once when he was younger.

"I can swim, boss." He started, and then heard the other convict that had been in a straight jacket. He listened intently to what she had to say and nodded, agreeing. It was pretty sensible.

"And while we're at it, can we pick up a lighter or two on the way? I need to burn some shit soon." He said jokingly as he laughed. He had no problem with lighting fires. Especially if the fires he lit caused people to die. It had been his favorite pass time for quite some time.

"We need to leave the area" i said looking around the area. " there's obviously some kind of alarm that went of when the bus stopped. And there are probably agents coming right now"

Cupid grinned at Jack's statement. "And knives!" She chimed in, adding onto his statement about lighters. Fires were fun and all but it wasn't quite the same as seeing the light fade from someone's eyes. "We could probably find both of those in a house. Find a house, kill the families, stay in the house for a night, burn it down and leave by daybreak?"

Baby Doll stood quietly. It was still like prison. Even though they were outside in the free world it was still just like they were locked up and certain people ruled. This other chick hadn't even been here the whole time and she was already taking over shades spot. Baby Doll rolled her eyes slightly and gently took the knife from the other girl her just cut her top. She setting to work to took another puff of nicotine, letting it taint her lungs.

"I'm Baby Doll." She quickly stated before Stabbing the knife into the fabric of her pants and slicing it off to become shorts. She then did the same as the girl and took off her shirt, cutting off her sleeves and slicing it slightly to create a muscle shirt. She kept the midriff part however, thinking covering her stomach gave her more protection.

"Guys." She squeaked, trying to catch their attention again.

"If we burn stuff and killing people we're leading them right on our tracks." she mumbled, shifting from one foot to another nervous about the fact of staying in one place for too long. she took her matches and cigarettes and placed them between her breast.

Jack hadn't noticed that the girl that had said that about the clothes had taken her shirt off. He laughed at the wacko girls statement and gave a thumbs up as best he could in the untied straight jacket.

"Knives are cool and all, but the smell of charred human meat is the best! Especially if you roast a few marshmallows on a pyre made out of them. The aftertaste is delicious! But we cant just kill the families with a knife for example. You have to hear them scream for mother mercy as they are engulfed by flames in a locked up bathroom. It just wonderful." He said, making humming noises as he remembered all the times he had done that. It was so fun.

Then he heard the other arsonist speak, and for the first time in a long time he frowned.

"Ugh... hate to admit it, but I guess you are right. At least we could cause a little forest fire to draw their attention to another place far away from us."

Codigan stood up. "Sounds like a plan. Do we need dogs, do you think?" He asked, looking at his partner.

(Pfffff muse? What's that?)

"The local police said they already had some there, but let's bring Dulce, just in case." Simon replied.

I looked around at everyone talkin.. then looked at the one who suggested walking in the shallows.. "Alright Pit Bull.. you seem like you know what you're talking about.. As for stealing a church van that's not gonna happen.. I may be a serial killer but I do have principles and respecting a church is one of them. May not be my religion or anyone elses here but have some respect. Once we get where we're goin. Once we settle down. I'd like to be able to stay in one place. So Baby Doll is right we can't leave a death trail. Now I don't wanna sound like those idiots we just left behind but I am trying to help us and I do want what's best for all of you. And if I have to die trying to get it for you then so be it.." I said to the group as I started stripping my clothes.

I got down to my tank top and then tied the rest of my jumpsuit around my waist. The gun I had grabbed was merely to scare people. I never planned on using it. I stuffed then into the back of my jumpsuit and threw my tank down over it. "If agents do come. Don't fight them run as fast as you can. Get the hell out of sight. If I have to I'll stay behind as long as you guys get where you're goin it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make." I finished.

"I agree if we stay in one place it doesn't leave a trail for them to follow. Also it will be harder for them to find us in a single building when we are reeking havoc in a whole town. Plus if we stay somewhere we know there's always somewhere else to go" i said sitting next to a tree. I usually use logic when i talk but i haven't even thought about what i have been saying today it's all been on the spot. It made me feel good that i am back to my usual self because i fucking hate change.

Baby Doll decided not to speak and decided to just keep her mouth shut. She didnt feel like wasting her breath on explain she did'nt mean an actual church van. That that's what they just called large white vans. She rolled her eyes slightly taking in another deep inhale of the cigarette. Once she finished it she tossed it on the ground, stumping it out.

"Well than. I'm outta here. I can't afford to go back to prison." She whispered, turned on her heels. She looked over her shoulder at the group before taking off deeper into the forest, trampling through the thicket. She followed the sounds of the river, hoping to reach it soon.

Simon left to go get the dog, and met back up with his partner at the car. He got in the drivers seat before Codigan had the chance too. He was the senior officer, therefore he drove.

Cupid shrugged, bored with this conversation and decided to just follow Baby Doll. "Hey, wait for Cupid!" She called out, quickening her pave to catch up with her. For such a small girl, she was pretty fast. "So, where are we going?"
