Marcus gave a nod and thanked him before leaving to his room to try and just rest.

Max came up later that evening with a sandwhich and knocked on the door "Hey, I know you're not super hungry but you need to eat something." She murmured

Aemond shook his head softly and gave a smile "I'll be fine with pizza." He murmured kissing her hand gently "I'm doing alright, how are you?"

He looked up and sighed a little. “Could you… could you talk to Marcus at some point? He came to talk to me about the grief and I just… I’m not good with that shit. I don’t know it. But I thought maybe… obviously with losing bill and Matthew… if you can’t it’s fine. Im not gonna force you.” He rambled.

Carmen smiled a little, having the cats get down and moved closer to cuddle with him a little. “I’ve been better love. I’m gonna go run some errands tomorrow but then I’ll be home in the evening. You call me if you need me though alright?”

Max nodded softly and gave him a soft smile "I can definitely try, but send him to me okay? I don't want to freak him out or anything." She said before kissing him gently "If you wanna come up I'm gonna take a bath and you can join me."

Aemond smiled softly and nodded some "Alright beautiful. I will I promise." He said softly before wrapping an arm around her "I love you so much beautiful."

He nodded and stood, closing everything down. “Let me eat this then I’ll be right up okay? Love you.” He smiled, taking the plate from her finally and pecked her cheek before letting her go.

She smiled as she watched him some. “Love you too baby.” She murmured, getting up when the pizza arrived and called Erik down to eat. She spent the rest of the evening close to aemond, waiting until he was asleep in bed before going down to her room in the basement and sorting out stuff for tomorrow.

By the next day Max was snuggled up close to him and enjoying the little lie in they were able to have "Mmm we should probably get up soon for breakfast." She murmured as she traced patterns on his chest.

Aemond woke up the next morning feeling worse for wear. He looked at Carmen as she came out of the bathroom and reached for her "Do...do you have to do those errands yourself today? Can you get someone to run them for you?" He asked quietly not wanting her away from his side right now.

She frowned a little and watched him, going to sit on the edge of the bed and gently felt his forehead. “I do but I can get Rhaena to come over… I won’t be too long I don’t think… and you’ve got your nurse starting today as well.” She murmured.

He smiled tiredly and kissed her head. “We should. I don’t want to though.” He murmured into hee hair, gently trailing his fingers up and down hee back.

Aemond frowned deeply and shook his head "No...please Carmen I need you here." He said quietly starting to beg a bit.

Max smiled and hummed quietly "What do you want for breakfast?" She asked as she started kissing his chest and letting her hands roam.

Carmen frowned, shaking her head. “Aemond what’s wrong?” She asked him quietly, not used to seeing him scared like this.

He grinned and pulled her on top of him a little more. “I think you know the answer to that one.” He told her

Aemond shook his head some and squeezed her hand "I just...I want you here please. I feel terrible and I don't want you gone." He said quietly

Max smirked a bit before getting on with it with him. She lay with him afterwards panting softly and smiled widely "I love you so much Jon."

She frowned again and got up to get his meds. “I can skip the rest of the errands but I need to go collect our sons ashes today.” She told him gently. “I can’t have Alyssa do that for me.” She told him quietly, helping him take the tablets before laying with him again.

He smiled tiredly, kissing her head. “Mmm I’m glad I never rushed into marriage.” He murmured and kissed her head. ”waited a long time but eventually you wandered into my life.” He smiled.

Aemond took a deep breath and nodded softly "Okay, that can work." He said quietly before taking his pills and pulling her close to him "I love you darling, more than anything."

Max blushed deeply and smiled widely "I'm glad that I quite literally stumbled into that bar that night." She murmured before pecking his lips "You have helped me more than you will ever know."

She frowned, gently brushing his hair out his face. “I love you too. Go back to sleep aemond. I’ll let you know when I need to leave okay?” She murmured. She didn’t like the weird feeling she was getting but she needed to go do this errand.

He smiled lazily at her, kissing her forehead and finally getting out of bed to go get showered. “Al should be here by 10:30 then we can leave.” He told her

Aemond gave a small frown but nodded still holding her tightly as he started to drift off back to sleep.

Erik knocked on the door later that morning and entered quietly "Hey everything okay? You guys missed breakfast." He said in a concerned voice while he looked at his father's weakened state "He doesn't look good..."

Max smiled happily and glanced at the clock "Well I better go get my face on. Gotta make sure I look my best when becoming your wife." She teased before pecking his lips and getting up.

She frowned but nodded. “He’s just… he’s having a bad morning. Is Rhaena here yet?” She asked him quietly, wiping her eyes but stood up when he nodded. “I uh… I gotta go down and collect your brothers ashes. I obviously couldn’t do it yesterday.” She mumbled, getting dressed “If he wakes up before I get back tell him I tried to wake him up but it was better to let him rest.” She frowned, kissing his head before heading out of the house.

He smiled and kissed her cheek as he brushed past her, getting cleaned up and dressed fairly quickly before heading downstairs and finding Marcus in the kitchen “hey kid, your uncle Alonzo is gonna be here in a little bit to keep an eye on you while we’re gone but you have any problems lr anything just call me alright.” He smiled.

Aemond woke up about an hour later when he felt Erik gently nudging him awake "Erik....everything okay?" He asked quietly taking deep breaths than usual.

Marcus gave a nod to his uncle and frowned a bit "Alright, will you guys be gone long?" He asked not wanting to really be there without Jon there.

He shook his head. “I don’t think so. We just have something to do in town then we’ll be back alright? We uh… we’re getting married today. We just wanted to have it just the two of us at the courthouse. Real quiet.” He explained.

He frowned and helped him sit up just a little. “You uh… yeah it’s alright dad. Just got a couple more painkillers from your nurse. She came by. Said you could rest while she did her checks for now. But she’ll come by tonight…. Rhaenas here dad. Moms gonna be back soon alright?” He frowned, trying to hold it in but after his nurse had confirmed what him and Carmen had been suspicious of earlier it was getting hard. “Rhaena did you call
Mom to hurry up yet?” He frowned.

Marcus frowned deeply but nodded some "Alrighr, well congratulations I guess? I honestly thought you guys were already married." He said with a small laugh

Aemond gave a small nod and took the pain killers "Oh alright." He said quietly before closing his eyes tightly "Remember what I told you yeah?" He murmured quietly to him.

Rhaena frowned as she sat at the edge of the bed ignoring her brother's question all together. She watched her dad for a few minutes seeing him struggling with each breath before they finally slowed down to a stop.

Erik choked back a sob, giving his dads hand a tight squeeze before getting up and looking at his sister. “Did you call modir yet?! She wasn’t… she didn’t… Rhaena!” He snapped.

He smiled a little. “We’re not gonna be gone all day alright? We’ll be back soon, have a think about what food you want us to have in the house and when we get back we can talk about grabbing your things.” He promised him before going to wait for max.

Rhaena stared at her father in shock and shook her head "No....no he can't...she was supposed to get here before...." she muttered before rushing to his side "Kepa! Kepa wake up!"

Max came down and smiled softly seeing Jon there "Ready?" She asked softly before reaching for his hand

It was another hour and a half before Carmen finally managed to get home, the traffic had been horrendous and she’d been stuck for forever but she walked into the house, frowning a little at the quiet, taking the urn straight to the living room and setting it on the mantle piece before heading up to her room. “He’s home. I’ve set the box on the-“ she stoped and turned around, going straight to Erik’s room. “Where’s your father?” She asked him, not wanting to hear the answer she knew was coming.

He nodded, bringing her in close. “Let’s get these papers signed.” He murmured, kissing her head and heading out with her once alonzo arrived. “You look beautiful.”

Erik looked up at his mother with red puffy eyes from crying "I told her to call you.. I had to call everyone else...they had to take him...I'm so sorry Modir." He said before he began to cry again "Kepa....he...he died.."

Max smiled happily and nodded "You look very handsome." She murmured before kissing him gently and leaving with him to the court house.

She frowned and shook her head, stepping over to where he was sat in his bed with Eivor's dog next to him, pulling her youngest in tightly to her "Shh shh, I got you... I got you okay? Erik look at me.... I'm home... Let me go talk to your sister real quick then I'll be back." She murmured, getting him to lay down before going to find Rhaena, hearing rustling in Aemond's study, and walked in. "Get out of my house." She told her dangerously calm. "Rhaena you need to leave. Before I call your uncle to come do it with force... You are not welcome back into my home. Get. Out." She told her. She was devastated and on top of it she felt blindsided by Rhaena's actions which, as mujch as she wanted to deny it, she knew had been intentiolnal

Jon parked up, walking with her down to the courthouse, unable to stop the smile the whole way through the process. Not caring much that they had to wait a little while when normally he'd be slipping them a bribe to get them throlugh quicker. By the time they were walking back to the car he finally felt secure in his life. Maybe for the first time ever. "Mrs Bernthal.... I think you get to pick the takeout tonight." He smiled at her, holding her car door open and kissing her before she got in

Rhaena looked up from her her father's things and glared at her mother. "I'm not leaving yet, there are few things I need." She muttered before going through the drawers to find a few documents.

Max smiled widely and kissed him lovingly "Mmm I don't think I could ever tire of you calling me that." She said softly before getting in the car. She held his hand the entire way back to the house and sighed happily

She grit her teeth before grabbing her by a fistful of hair and dragging her out of the room. “Get out! Get out of his house! You denied your father one last chance to speak to his wife! I come home and they’ve already taken him!” She screamed, dragging her until she got to the front door, shoving her outside. “Do not even think of showing your face here again!” She screamed, slamming it in her face before sliding down with her back to it and breaking down

Jon smiled, glancing ar his phone when it pinged and sighed a little before parking up. A text from one of his men that told him aemond was dead. “There’s gonna be a storm coming love. Let’s enjoy the good times while they last.” He murmured, kissing her gently then got out the car, walking into their house married finally
