Fandom The Next Heroes: a DC super hero RP

"OK, here's my number so you can send that to me once you guys have arrived." Aftermath replied, searching her numerous pockets until she comes up with a scrap of paper and a pen. Hastily jotting it down, she hands it over to him as the two of them look almost ready to go. "I'll see if I can get back to the Tower, find a way to contact Luke and the others, and hopefully we'll meet up soon... don't do anything foolish in the meantime, hmm? Take care." she tells them sternly.

"Nah, you'll be fine as long as you hold on tight" Impulse assured Lotor. After they were done planning out everything, he got ready to go. "Foolish? What are you talking about? I'm basically an angel!" he exclaimed sarcastically with a mischievous smile across his face.

"See ya when I see ya" Impulse said and blasted off towards the plane. Its doors were nearly closing so he'd have to move quickly. Good thing that was his specialty. Increasing his speed, Impulse ran into the plane and the doors closed behind him. He slid to a full stop before checking to make sure Lotor was still with him.

"Glad to see your still kicking" he told the raccoon.

Some sort of cloth-like material had been securely fastened around Alfa's cage, limiting his knowledge of his surroundings. He heard guards pacing around outside. He assumed some were here specifically to keep an eye on him. His mind had cleared significantly and he was working at his maximum mental potential. He shifted into human form so the muzzle fell down, hanging around his neck, and shifted back after seeing that he still could not escape the shackles. He decided to wait and gain information before trying to escape.

-----

Titan had just finished off a few more mutants. He had even tranquilized a few hoping Lex-Corp could utilize them some how. He noticed that the only "hero" left was the energy girl. He took this to his advantage and used a rocket to blow up their mutants. he then ducked below another building to start another fight with a mutant.

Once she watched the pair speed away and knew that they had stowed away on the plane, Aftermath turned to face the remaining mess. Briefly, she contemplated leaving the Luthor's to finish dealing with the situation at hand- she was frankly exhausted, and had to get some rest before trying to contact anyone and track down Impulse and Lotor. However, she knew it would be better to not give them reason to be angry by leaving them to clean this up alone. Sensing the approaching surge of energy, she turned to absorb some of the force from the rocket the boy had shot, watching him slip away into the building. Moving to take down some of the nearby stragglers, she called out to him. "Hey, did you want some help in there?!"

Luke beamed back down from The Watchtower and made his way over to Aftermath killing a few of the monsters in the process. "So, I don't suppose being shot by dangerous things is a hobby of yours?" He was half joking and had a smile on his face.

------------

"No, we're good." She said, Lisa didn't want some meta taking the credit for saving Gotham. Dad would be so proud. The thought brought a smile to her face as she shot a few more of the now lingering creatures.

"Hm, I prefer 'talent'." Aftermath replies upon turning to face the Lantern, pulling off the helmet to give him a wry grin. "You seem well, for someone who looked ready to pass out not so long ago. Those batteries charge up pretty quick I suppose."

Titan decimated one of the last creatures and activated the com between him and Lisa. "They're guarding the mutants in the net over there. Let's finish this up quick and snatch the bag of mutts for our own. I'll call the jet back where we will store them for now. I have a few good pictures of us taking care of the mutants for us to give to the press. Sound good?" He called the jet over and checked his radar. There were only three mutants left and he hunted one down.
Alfa heard more commotion outside his cage and tensed up. The cover was thrown off of his cage and he reflexively used his energy to blast back the nearest people. It worked, until someone electrocuted the cage. That was a real eye opener. "Now that you're a little less feisty, let me get a good look at you 7A" a female voice said. Ian felt his breath rate increase at the mention of his old name. He cautiously looked up and saw a woman he recognized (http://www.wall321.com/thumbnails/detail/20120713/science mathematics anime steinsgate makise kurisu anime girls 2771x4100 wallpaper_www.wall321.com_29.jpg). His eyes widened and he began to panic. He did not want to go back there!

"You could imagine my shock when I found out my pupil had survived the attack by those damned purifiers!" She exclaimed with glee. "Have you been working out some more? You look stronger. You certainly did make it hard to find you again. You made your way to the internet in almost no time after that original fight in Gotham. Sadly, I haven't found any of the others. I know you would just love to see 7C again!"

at this Alfa let out a deep growl and said "Leave Vanessa out of this!"

"Looks like I found a soft spot" she teased. "Get that muzzle back on him. Once he is home we can begin testing again."

Alfa let out a long, loud, growl that could easily be a howl.

"Just gotta say the rhyme, plus I got some muffins on the way, want some?" Luke said, floating above the ground."We really don't have time to mop up here, lets go try and find Alfa, okay?" He looked visibly worried, but tried to shrug it off.

"Yea, I'll take a muffin, thanks." Charlotte replied as she grabbed one and munched on it. Turning to the general direction of the plane, she nods, quickly swallowing the last bite before speaking. "The new guy, Lotor, he and Impulse got into that plane that took Alfa, said they'd send me a signal of their location... but do you have another way to track them?" she asks. Seeing the expression on his face, she could tell he wasn't exactly willing to wait until they got further instructions on the coordinates.

" Yeah " Lotor smirked. It took him a moment to regain his balance, after getting off of, Impulse. The ride went better than expected, although he still had to get used to traveling at the speed of light, and by the looks of it, so did his tail. Lotor sighed, knowing it was going to take a few hours of fine grooming, to return it to its former glory. Lotor's ears perked up after he heard howling on board the plain " Better tell them where we are buddy " Lotor said to SHIC, that by now it's eyes were blinking, meaning that it was sending their exact coordinates to Aftermath.

To the casual onlooker, it must have looked as though the hospital had left a corpse out to rot in the morning sun. Pasty, frail, and anemic, Walker hardly looked like a real person, let alone a living one. The faint rise and fall of the boy's chest and his faint movements were the only proof he was actually alive. Lifting his arm to gaze at his watch almost exhausted the young man. He frowned upon seeing the time. They were supposed to be here already.

"You can wait inside," the nurse standing behind the boy spoke up as she pulled her jacket tighter to her body, "I'd hate to see you catch cold."

"I'm fine," the frail redhead rasped in response.

The nurse crossed her arms, staring at the boy incredulously. She'd spent the past year taking care of him and she wasn't about to quit now. "Why don't we go to the lobby? It won't do any good to be too sick to go when they arrive."

"I'm fine!" Walker snapped as he turned back to look at the nurse with hazy eyes. His neck hurt from the sudden movement, likely a cracked vertebrae.

Walker settled into his wheelchair, clutching the sleeves of his jacket in balled fists. LexCorp promised him freedom from his disease. He'd spent his entire life waiting for the day his body would finally give up on him. Now he had the first glimmer of hope that he could remember. There was no way in hell anyone or anything was going to keep him from this. The cold was just a reminder that he was still alive, that he still had a chance. Not that the nurse could understand how he felt. Nobody could.

"Just leave me alone," Walker grumbled, "I can handle this."

"I'm not going anywhere," the nurse replied with a smile, "I have to sign custody of you over to LexCorp, remember?"

Walker only sneered in response. He couldn't wait to stop being treated more like an inanimate object than a person. Ever since he could remember people have looked down on him cause of his disability. He couldn't wait to just be normal.

Titan checked the time. "Crap!" he exclaimed into their private line. "I was supposed to meet our client at least half an hour ago! You clean up hear and I'll meet him. See ya later." Titan activated his rocket boosters and saw the jet coming in slowly. Before anyone could react, partly to the smoke screen he put around the heroes, he snatched the net of mutants and flew up to the jet. The scientists sedated them even more and checked everything for tracking devices, even scanning their bodies for technology, and tossed the net out. Titan took a pod and launched off towards his client. The jet headed off towards an extra Lex-Corp facility to drop off the mutants and a pod launched for whenever Lisa was ready.

Max emerged from the pod at the hospital, his armor already off but ready to use at a moments notice. The new technology was already at the hospital and was taken out to meet Max. He spied a nurse and what he guessed was his client. "Walker Jenson?" He asked. "I am Max Luthor. We have the technology that is perfect for you. Are you ready?"

"Am I ready to stop dying?" Walker sarcastically replied, "what do you think?"

"Walker! They're spending a lot of time and money to try and make you better. The least you could do is try to pretend to be grateful," the nurse said in a chastising tone.

The frail boy chuckled, his voice raspy and pained as his body heaved with the laughing. Grateful? The way the release papers he signed worded this, it was more likely he'd be dead by the end of this than anything. Still, if he was going to die for anything it would be a chance to have a normal life. He didn't need to show he was grateful, anyone who could see the position he was in would understand that no amount of gratitude could show how much he appreciated LexCorp for doing this.

"Alright, alright," he lifted his skeletal looking hand and tried to wave though it was little more than a flick of his wrist, "I'll play nice."

"No no, it's alright mam" Max said. "I can't imagine what it's like to live with his condition, but I think his actions are appropriate." He turned to the fragile kid laying on the floor now. "Once all of the paper work is out of the way, we may begin the process. I will give you several opportunities to back out, all required by law. Now is one of those times."

Lisa finished off the last of the mutants as the press arrived. She dispatched the last of them as a news chopper landed beside her. Lisa smiled and said "Myself and Lexcorp will do anything to keep you safe." Lisa did a quick talk with the press which was aired on national television. After which she sped off towards Lexcorp in Metropolis.

"Don't bother," Walker said with a surprisingly confident tone, "No way I'm backing out after making it this far."

Walker felt his hands tremble a bit. It was almost comforting to feel nervous. He hadn't been this excited for anything before. Sitting forwards in his chair he eagerly waited for Max to take him to this cure they had. Whatever it was, he was ready for it. He was ready to finally start his life for real.

"Well then, we'll just lay you on this stretcher here" Max said indicating to the one next to him "and take you inside. Thee will be a bit of a wait while we sort all of the paperwork out, but it shouldn't be too bad." Max watched as people helped Walker up and laid him on the stretcher. He watched he enter the building and turned to the nurse. "Shall we take this inside?"

Walker clenched his jaw, feeling his bones bruise as he was laid onto the stretcher. He began to fathom at what kind of technology would actually be capable of doing something for him. It wasn't like they could just go in and replace all the bones in his body. The young man had a fistful of blankets as he came up to the entrance of the hospital, his mind reeling at was going to happen next.

"Can you really help him?" the nurse asked, watching Walker be whisked away into the hospital with a sentimental gaze.

"If I didn't believe he could be healed, I wouldn't be here" Max said. "Now follow me. All of the paperwork should be arranged appropriately to make this as quick as possible."

The nurse smiled at the reassuring words and followed Max into the hospital. She quickly signed away any waivers as required. When Walker's signature was required the papers were brought to him and he scribbled away some chicken scratch. He was never very good at writing, the pencil always hurt his fingers after a while. Lying down and jittery with nerves only made it worse.

"Good luck," the nurse said, "Hopefully you wont be back here anytime soon."

Walker huffed in amusement, cracking a weak grin. It was a nice sentiment to have, being away from the hospital. The sterilized smell, the bleached white floors and ceilings, and the helplessness. How he longed to never feel helpless again. Walker released his grip on the sheets. Whatever that Max kid was going to do to him, he was ready. He could make it this far with this disease, whatever was coming was nothing compared to that.

Lisa finally to the hospital where she was meeting her client. Her armor was removed as she walked into the room her client was kept. Lisa noticed someone lying on he bed. She said to Max "Is this the one?" Lisa smile to the patient and tapped on her iPod.

(They are at a hospital)

Max prepared everything with only a few other people in the room. He needed access to Walker's back, so he used a device that clipped to the side of the stretcher and covered his entire body except for the face. Walker was then flipped over as softly as possible. "This will be a slow and painful process, so we are going to put you under for the procedure. With that he strapped on the gas feeder and watched as Walker lost consciousness.

Walker winced as he was turned over. He was glad to hear that they would be sedating him. Whatever they were going to do to him, he didn't want to be awake to experience it. As his eyes fluttered shut, he saw another person, a girl. She said something but he couldn't hear, her mouth moving but everything was static. Before he had another thought everything went blank.

Max saw Lisa walk into the room right as Walker was blacking out. "Yah, this is him alright." He grabbed the machine and placed it on his back. The sizing was right, but there was still some work that needed to be done. He grabbed a few medical instruments and made some incisions into his back. Some holes were drilled into his spine and mechanical connections made. Soon his back was a mess of blood and metal. Finally the "miracle cure" was taken back over and connected to everything Walker was kept sedated while it worked its magic. The machine was also supported a bit as to help keep it from crushing Walker's bones while things mended. Whatever happened inside wasn't good enough, so a suit was engineered along with it. The suit was the main part of the cure, actually. "What do you think, Lisa?"

"I think he'll either be the greatest feat of technological prowess ever, or dead within the hour. Though, I'm hoping for the former." Lisa didn't mean to be so cold, but she wasn't good with the possibility of executing an innocent. Still, it could save his life. Lisa began assisting her beige run prepping walker.
