Alfa blasted a few more creatures, but it hardly seemed to do anything. He turned to the energy girls and gave her a few blasts. After that he began tearing the beasts apart with his claws. Then they seemed to focus primarily on Alfa. There were too many of them, and he felt them pull him away.


(Sorry Jinx, but they have no loyalty to you)

 

[Deadkool]

"Honestly, no idea, care to join us?" Luke saw Alfa being overwhelmed and had a thought. "Think about it, what do all rabid animals want? Meat!" Luke put up a huge steak construct, although it didn't consist of any real meat. A few of the creatures drifted over to it and were distracted, leaving Alfa a little space to breathe.

 

[The Suspicious Eye]

Jinx laughed and threw a bomb in the middle of the group. A monkey flung the bomb she handded to him at her hand She laughed "Oh Kingsly your so silly." Although to Jinx these animals were loyal to her they were completely untamed and tried to kill her at every chance. Luckily Jinx is crazy. She happily dodged and evaded the incoming attacks. As she got closer she punted a monkey toward the group "Go forth!! Baron!! I chose you!!" She laughed hilariously as the rhino who had finally noticed Jinx began to rampage trying to buck her off. She laughed "this is just like the circus!! Are you related to Grant the raging bull?" She continued to laugh and balance herself on the rhino, only making it angrier. 
Maria sighed and nodded "If it will make this over with, sure." She moved out of the way and flew over to some of the animals kicking them high into the air. She didn't really want to hurt them, but scare them enough to chill. Literally she was throwing them in the atmosphere. Many who came back were either passed out or traumatized. She pointed to them "he did say keep some alive right?"

 

[Deadkool]

"Yeah, he did. Just keep a few under wraps. Hey, mind putting a few of those shooty things into my giant gun?" Luke re-manifested the treadmill and gun with an opening in the space bullets would go. His ring beeped signifying it wouldn't be long before he had to recharge it.

 

[Shog]

Titan was thankful for the time his step-sister gave him. He finished hacking into the mech. Titan's mech started to attack the others. Apparently their artificial intelligence want programmed very well and most of the mechs were dead before the others retaliated. After that mech was destroyed, only 3 remained.

 

[Deadkool]

Lisa tapped into her brother's system and retrieved the code he'd used to break into the mech and pressed a few buttons on her wrist. One of the three mechs exploded, leaving the other two in shambles. "Not bad." She said, smiling.

 

[Shog]

Titan took a few shots at the other mechs, making sure they were done, and made a break for the exit. He hacked the door again and it opened. Turrets were deployed outside, but his virus had rendered them distinctional. He took off and started flying to the jet. "I'd call this a success, wouldn't you agree?"

 

[Deadkool]

"Well, duh." She said, entering the jet. She removed her suit and stored it. "Hey, I'm picking up weird life forms in Gotham, metas too." Lisa said pulling live footage displaying The Defenders battling the beasts.

 

[SirDerpingtonIV]

The Emerald Knight smiled, "This'll be interesting,'' he muttered, as a mutant leapt at them from atop a ruined bus. He didn't know what it used to be, or hat it was now, and quite frankly, didn't care. He rolled to the side, before jumping to his feet, and whipping around. The mutant had fallen onto its face, expecting to have ran into him. It rolled onto its back, but it was too late. The Emerald Knight was on top of it, plunging his green sword down. It pierced the creature's heart, as the creature screamed in agony, blood spraying out like a fountain. The Emerald Knight turned, looking for a new foe.

 

[Shog]

Alfa was thankful for the cover and took the chance to break free. His suit had remained relatively unscathed in the earlier battle, but it was practically shredded to nothing now. He took swipes at the remaining mutants around him and his claw snagged something. He jumped back and looked at it. It was just a small piece of metal with the letters DNA on it. But the letters resembled more of a logo with the D being converted into an eye, the N having a point at the end like a tail, and the A having spikes running down the right side. It all looked familiar to him, but he couldn't figure out why. The mutants didn't give him the time to figure it out, either. They swarmed him again. He even recognized one from earlier. It had been smashed against the side of a car, trashing the car and surly crushing the animals bones. They truly did have amazing regenerative abilities.


He was doing a good job of fighting them off, but then everything went wrong. A voice in his mind shouted "NOW!" as if the voice had come from right beside him. Then various images flooded his vision and he collapsed on the ground. he recognized some of the images from years ago, but most of them were new. Nothing made sense. A large winged creature that was most likely supposed to be a bird swooped down and plucked Alfa's body from the ground. It then quickly took off at high speeds. Alfa's limp body dropped the piece of metal and it fell to the ground.

"Sounds like we can have some real fun now" Max said. He had removed the Titan armor and taken the cure vial to a more secure location. The scientist now had it and would know what to do with it. "Gotam's on the way to Metropolis. The jet can come back for us later."

 

[Deadkool]

Luke shouted "No!" and quickly flew towards him, he examined landed carefully and out up a few makeshift barriers beside them. He shouted "Guys, c'mon Alfa's hurt!" He did all he could to keep the barriers up, but knew his ring couldn't take much more.

Lisa smiled and strapped into her suit, she jumped out of the jet, examining the city. "Metas this way." She waved him over.

 

[Happy Red Mage]

Then Entity watched the entire scene from the rooftops. It was deciding whether or not to intervene. With a silent nod it jumped down and landed in front of them.

 

[Deadkool]

Luke said to the entity. "I'm almost out of charge and Alfa's......" He frowned a bit. "There's not many of them left, but, anyway I need my lantern and someone needs to get him to The Watchtower."

 

[Happy Red Mage]

The Entity slowly rose it's hand and manifested the emptiness of space, it's vacuum, above the creatures. One by one they were being pulled and sucked into the area.

 

[Deadkool]

"Well, or that." He said, a little upset he could've done that the entire time. Luke's ring beeped a final time and the light went out, leaving him in street clothes.

 

[Gh0st]

"Boom" the sound of Impulse breaking the sound barrier could be heard as he zipped over to Luke and Alfa snatching them out of the ground. He had been helping evacuate civilians when he saw what was going on, thankfully he got to them right before they were mauled by the beasts. Grabbing his teammates, Impulse ran inside a building to give the two a chance to recover.


"Everything alright here?" he asked while he was breathing hard which was strange because his endurance was as large as his speed. Impulse quickly realized that he hadn't eaten in too long which for someone with an incredibly large metabolism was dangerous. At any moment he could pass out.

 

[Deadkool]

(You probably couldn't carry Alfa, and definitely not both of us)

 

[Shog]

(That and Alfa got a good distance away. Definitely not near Luke.)


"Looks like we missed the show" Max said as the jet neared Gotham. "Think we should make an appearance?"

 

[Deadkool]

(Well, Luke flew over to him)

"I'll leave that up to you, suit's still on 60 percent battery" She said looking out over Gotham.

 

[Shog]

(Good thing I know you can keep tabs on me. It's obvious I can't do so myself. At this point I'm just going to play along.)

An unknown person from a distant building. He took aim at the building the heroes were hiding in. With one shot the front was blasted open, leaving it vulnerable further attacks. A new batch of mutants were released onto the street, primarily reptiles this time. "You are not escaping this time" the person mumbled. The sudden attack was also taken under the cover of remaining dust from the initial blast, giving the advantage to the a animals. Alfa's limp body was dragged out to the street and into the sewers. From there a secret door opened and closed behind them.

"I'm game" Max said stepping into his armor. Once it was sealed around his body he said "Let's just not try to make too big of a disturbance, shall we?"

 

[clarinetti]

Aftermath had been occupied trying to take out the large animals to the best of her abilities- for her it had been largely a game of dodging the claws and teeth coming at her, trying to swipe bits of the energy before shooting back at them. It was a tedious process, and she had her fair share of cuts and bruises, but she had managed to do so without suffering any severe wounds. In a brief moment of respite, she turns around and finds herself nowhere near where the others had been before. Looking around through the chaos and what looked to be another swarm of creatures (Lizards this time by the looks of it), she could spy a flash of yellow and red through the smoke filled windows of a nearby building. Had some of them tried to take cover? she asks herself before catching a blurred shadow hovering above. A helicopter... no, a jet? Something like that flying this close to a disaster zone felt wrong in her gut, but she tried to ignore it as she took off for the building, busting the door open with an energy infused kick, finding Luke and Jay inside, both of them in bad shape.


"Oh god.... the trouble you guys get into.... what happened?! Where is everyone else?" she asks them, genuine worry seeping through her attempt to sound angry at the pair, leaning over to get a better look at them.

 

[Deadkool]

"Well, some thing picked up Alfa and hauled him off, if we don't get Impulse some food he's probably going to die, I'm out of ring charge and tomorrows weather forecast is partly cloudy." Luke said with a look of worry on his face.

"As always" She said jumping out of the jet and deploying her suit's parachute. Lisa landed lightly and began blasting at the beasts. "Metas this way." She waved Max over as they made their way closer to the metas.

 

[clarinetti]

"What, like kidnapped him? Why... no, we can deal with that later. So he's on the verge of death and you're pretty much a civilian right now..." she says, talking more to herself than them at this point as she mentally tries to sort everything out. The immediate priority was to get out of here and find somewhere safe to hunker down, get some food, medical supplies, possibly some weapons while Luke's powers were recovering (She was not having the pair of them being sitting ducks)... the situation with Alfa was concerning to say the least, and another corner of her mind was whirring with all the possible reasons as to why he had been taken and where he could be. And she didn't know where anyone else was, whether or not they were alive, the city...


No, the focus is on the moment, and they needed to get out before one of those things come tearing through.


"Can we teleport to the Tower, or is that activated by your powers or something? If not, what do you need to 'recharge' your powers or whatever?" she asks him.

 

[Winxy]

" Mind if, I tag along? " Lotor walked up to the three, carrying three heavily sedated mutants on a net. Lotor had been badly hurt, rounding up these three mutants while trying to stay alive from the others. " I'm sort of running out of tranquilizer darts. " Lotor gave a weak smirk, trying to ignore the pain from being thrown into a car by a crazed ape earlier.

 

[clarinetti]

Startled by the unexpected arrival, Aftermath quickly turns around, ready to blast whatever had busted in here. She needs a moment to absorb the scene- a costumed raccoon man (Judging by the tail) stood before her, carrying three of those mutated animal things in a net... her day just keeps getting better. "And who the hell are you, might I ask?" she asks harshly after recovering from the brief shock, hands out and glowing with energy.
