She underestimated how many people she thought would be at the fair. The heat and dense crowd made her thankful that she cut her shirt and tied it at the waist.
She hardly knew where to start with so much to do and so many new faces. So instead, she opted to stick to a seat she'd found under some shade near a concession area.
Relief settled the butterflies in her stomach when she remembered that she'd be able to stick with at least two people.
She'd hit it off with Zachary and Amy in the chat, she hadn't expected to make connections so quickly, but she was thankful that she did. As her thumbs hovered over her phone to message where she was sitting, she thought back to his comment about her making him nervous.
Was it something she said? Done? Had she gone and said something stupid? Her mind began to race with thoughts of already ruining the first thoughts of wrecking a chance at friendship before she had an opportunity to start one. She shakes her head and eats another scoop of her ice cream, the cold sting on her teeth grounds her, unpleasant as it is.
She pushes the thought from her head as she texts Amy and Zachary where she's sitting.
