Meg nodded agreeably. She decided to take the puppet suggestion literally instead of metaphorically. She wondered if it was impossible to trap a soul, or perhaps keep it under control while in a body, but she kept those thoughts off her face. She even managed a smile, “That’s a relief.” Well, the hope at least was honest, which she preferred, but it being unlikely for there to be tortured souls was a plus.
The halfbreed hadn’t even pushed it up to royalty. She knew nobility, but no royal would possibly stay at the small tavern she grew up in. She kept quiet, nodding once more, but realized that as a cleric, Anat was likely outside of the class system. Even nobles needed to cleanse their souls. Still, whether nobility or royalty were the wrong terms, Meg knew those habits were maintained by the power she currently held. And it made sense, an armorer (particularly one that could control anyone wearing their armor) had to be very beneficial for the guild. It was like getting a meal at home compared to eating elsewhere. In-house was always cheaper. And Meg knew nothing about armor, but that suit certainly looked impressive.
Her thoughts zeroed in on Anat again, as she started to speak more about magic itself. It never occurred to her that good magicians would use magical servants. It had seemed like it should be a partnership, like her with water. Though she had forced it to move faster down in that tunnel. “Thank you. I think I understand more” She wondered if she could learn how to do constructs herself. Dropsies was adorable. Meg knew she needed to be practical and learn how to protect herself first. “We should probably head back down to Percival and Ramirez, they’re likely wondering where we are.” Her stomach growled and she blushed, "I could do with some food too."
