The Herald and the Hero (closed)

"That's ok!" He called out to Dorian as he ran off. "I'll just be,uh, here!" He added. Falon sighed comfortably, a part of him wished for more time to talk with Dorian, but for now it just wasn't in the cards. The Dalish elf turned his attention back to the lively crowd around the large fire. He watched as they danced and laughed, all of the excitement brought a smile to his face.

As Cassandra walked up to Falon, he shifted his head in her direction as the sound of her foot steps got closer to him. He nodded as she spoke, taking it all in. Looks like the Inquisition wouldn't be closing up anytime soon.

"We don't know what caused this." Falon exclaimed. "We can't rest easy."

----

Solas smiled, at the mention of her last words however, his expression straightened out. "One can never be too careful around the Chantry. I trust Cassandra, and I know she would keep her word, I even trust Falon enough to know he too would try and help me leave Haven. However, I can see the Chantry twisting their words around."

The elf shrugged. "But, that is something that hasn't come up yet, for now I will stay and slowly meander my way out of Haven." Solas said, his tone staying low and calm. "And as I said before, I would still like to study the Anchor some more." He reminded her. A grin slowly crept to Solas' face.

"Don't worry about me, Krishna. I'll be fine, trust me."

"You are right. The threat still remains and it will be our duty to seek it out." She paused, and said, in a unusual moment of optimism, "However, tonight was a victory. And a victory of alliance, at that. One of few in recent memory. With the Breach closed, that alliance will need new focus."

But that optimism was short-lived.

They were being attacked.

Cassandra quickly drew her sword. "What the...? We must get to the gates!" With that, she took off.

----

Before she could say another word, the alarm bell that signaled an attack rang out. Krishna leaped to her feet, drawing the daggers she had kept on her person in place of her bow for the night. Cullen ran by, shouting for everyone to come to arms. The Hero of Ferelden looked to her children, who were caught in the rushing tide of bodies as everyone began running around.

"Nina! Malcadez! Chantry, now!" The young elves suddenly came out of their frightened and confused stupor and did as instructed. When she saw them disappear into the safety of the building, she followed the Commander.

However, unbeknownst to anyone, Nina had grabbed her daggers and her mother's bow and slipped back out into the chaotic night. She would help fight off whatever this threat was, no matter what anyone said. And there was no way she was going to let her mother go without her preferred weapon either. It... scared her to think that Krishna would not be fighting at her best when they did not know what their enemies were capable of at the moment.

Falon looked around quickly, the sudden burst of screams and the bell filling his ears. He followed Cassandra to the gates were all of his advisors had been standing. He soon caught a glimpse of Krishna running to the group. Falon turned to look at her, panic filled his face, however not a single word escaped his mouth.

"Cullen?" Cassandra said, looking to the commander for answers.

"One watch guard reported, a massive force." He gestured the the snowy mountains behind him. "The bulk over the mountain."

"Under what banner?" Josephine asked.

"None."

"None?"

Suddenly the gates began to tremble, below a bright light could be seen between the slits of the large doors. A voice was heard from the other side.

"I can't come in unless you open!" The voice called out.
