Name:
Alteria

Behaviour: The Alteria are honorable creatures, seeking to have more strength simple to be strong. They will often have contests of strength against one another. However, they do not enjoy killing, to kill is to remove talent from the world. They are very respectful of other races and will often include them in their practices. However, they are the type to take offense to disrespect. To show disrespect is to earn their ire. Simple disrespect will lead to them refusing to fight, thus refusing one's right to grow stronger.

The Alteria care for the sheaths of their swords and will often have various sheath in their houses. Only their swords grow, the sheath have to be remade often during the growing period as the personality changes as well. These sheaths are a reminder of their growth. During marriage, the two parties will exchange their first sheaths as a sign of affection.

Traits:

  • Swordmaster: All Alteria, aside from the very first, are born with their swords. These swords start of as simple knives, barely able to cut fruit. But as the Alteria grow stronger, so do their swords. These swords will grow longer and larger to fit the personality of the one using it. These swords can never be truly destroyed either, should they be broken, they will self repair over time, like wound healing.
At the same time, they also age just as their user does. Over time, as the Alteria grow older, the sword will begin to show signs of wear, though it will remain sharp until the day their owner dies. When that happens, the blade itself will shatter, leaving only the hilt. An Alteria will never allow their sword to leave their side, even during relations.
  • Animalistic: The Alteria are like animals and have enhanced senses to go with it. Their sense of smell and hearing are the best among most races, other than those that share similar traits. Their speed and strength are also quite good, though being sword users, this various depending on the sword. Some focus on strength over speed and others focus on speed. Sometimes you'll find one that has found a balance.
  • Bladesmith: All Alteria are capable of forging bladed weapons and their sheath with Excellent Quality. Born with the Sword Soul, they innately understand how to craft any bladed weapon. However, since they are born with their weapon already, they only ever craft Sheaths. Once they meet other races and acquire the materials, they can create personalized weapons.
  • Blood Destruction: By pushing their bodies to the utmost limits, they can exceed their own strength and speed, becoming devastating in battle. However, this ability is a last resort as it can severely damage their bodies, even to the point of preventing them from every fighting again. The best case scenario, they are only laid up for a few months, the worst case is that they become crippled for life.
This ability was an unintended side effect of their Sword Soul mixing with their animalistic qualities. As it is an integral part of them, Reve cannot remove it.

Air Turtle:
A kind and docile creature, this species of Turtle spends most of it's time floating lazily across the skies of the Sword Continent and eating Silk Birds. When tamed by the Alteria, they can be used as large transports to travel to the various singular islands that float around the continent.

Silk Birds: Known as Silk because of their sweet silky calls, these birds are about half the size of an adult human and often fly around the Sword Continent in small flocks. They'll occasionally either land to eat fruits, or eat even smaller birds. They are the staple food of the Air Turtle's.

I actually kinda want to try and have a group of Hollows fly over and attack some Wrath's. Hollows can fly a bit, I doubt they could over an ocean though :P

I was going to do the mini-quest with golems and eels and stuff, but it looks like it's one quest at a time so it'll have to wait until this one runs its course. I guess I'll have some fun with the first "unreported" contact between a group of Wrath and Xir'ain's seraphs in the mean time. Not much to do with a god that for whatever reason is reluctant to use his power to create.

@LeviathanL Whenever you're on for a bit want to work out a little bit of dialogue or actions for the wrath Ore'seur meeting? Nothing much, I just don't know how they're likely to act very well.
