How troublesome...
Ren watched as Gail took his hand, and floated up a bit. With a smile, he said something, "I'm gonna assume you're wondering why I offered my hand to you, even though I know you aren't a tangible being." Ren chuckled a bit and shrugged his shoulders a bit, "Honestly, it's just a force of habit. My mom took manners very seriously and being a gentleman was one of the things she hammered into my mind back then. To this day, I'm happy she did. It's gotten me so far, and landed me a ton of friends and whatnot." He said, starting to ramble on about his childhood. Ren didn't notice right away, but when he did, he covered his mouth, laughing a bit. "Sorry about that. You probably don't wanna hear about all of that noise." Out of embarrassment, Ren looked to his side where Gail wasn't, rubbing the back of his head. Ren wasn't much of a rambler, but it happened from time to time.As Ren joked on, Gail chuckled alongside him. At least the situation wasn't as awkward as she was dreading to be. However, she didn't plan on hugging him again any time soon - not exactly the 'lady-like' behaviour she tries so very hard to maintain. Still, she did enjoy the compliment...but, she usually enjoys complements. Even if she enjoys them in secret.
Watching him stand up and offer her his hand, Gail looked up to Ren with a puzzled face. Surely he saw the futility of offering a hand to help a massless, floating being up? Or, perhaps, he was simply being nice. Gail preferred to see it as a latter, although she still smirked slightly as she took the hand. Still smirking, she simply willed herself upward, still in a seated position, as she more carried rather than let her hand be carried by Ren's hand.
Now that the morning sun had started to rise properly, Gail had started to warm up a bit. Still much cooler than most, she wasn't as cold as ice as most people assumed but more...well, cold as the dead. Which makes sense, really. But, even still, it was more of a cool than a cold. Her face lifted by the general mood between the pair, now a smile as opposed to the frown that she wore before, she nodded happily as Ren asked her out on the walk. "Yeah, alright. That'll be nice."
Once he got over his little embarrassing, at least to him, moment, he looked over to Gail, soon speaking up to her, "There's a lot of places we can go and visit. I was thinking somewhere off campus though. Not much happens here, and well if you haven't seen some of the tourists attractions in the city, I highly suggest that... That is if you haven't already though. You can fly and stuff after all." Ren said, giving a small soft chuckle. He wasn't poking fun at her for being dead or anything, because not only would that be rude, but her being able to fly was no unknown fact. She could go anywhere she wanted at anytime. "There's a lake close by that's off campus, or we can go to the tower... Anywhere pretty much. I'll let you decide if you have anywhere in specific."
Ren didn't know what Gail would be into, so he was going to take this chance to learn a bit more about his friend. See what kind of things piqued her interest. Maybe she'd learn something about him too, other than his childhood that is. No one wants to hear the boring story of a normal kid. Things like attending school, or what did he do on a daily basis... Normal human stuff. If anything, Gail's life would be more interesting than his. She lived in a time period that he couldn't imagine himself being from. Not at all.
