Fantasy The Dark World (rp)

Scarlett O'Hare

Scarlett was so lost in her little world of darkness and self-loathing that she hardly had time to notice the girl running towards her charge. "Back!" She hissed and leaped mere seconds after coming so close to her. Suddenly, Scarlett couldn't remember why she jumped back. Her arms, they looked like they were holding something, but there wasn't anything. She let her arms hang limp but heard the sound of something hitting the ground behind her. She turned around to see the boy, her memory flooding back to her for a moment. "Shit!" She cursed under her breath as she leapt into his path, blocking him from tumbling down the incline. "Sorry." She managed to speak to the boy as her eyes let several drops fall onto him. She was worthless, she couldn't even just carry a person across a forest. "Worthless." The words began to flow from her as she heard her master. Pathetic, you can't even throw that car twenty feet? No dinner for three days. The memory of her training flooding her mind as she just stopped the hunter from rolling. "Mutt. Replaceable. Weak." She couldn't hold back the feelings of depression as she fell to her knees. She didn't want to move. She just wanted to rot away like a dog with no owner.

Ryuji Nakamoto

"Nightshade, my dear, calm down. You're only increasing your chances of her considering you a threat." Ryuji placed a hand on Kore's shoulder. "Some people fear that darkly beautiful nature of the wilds, so just show her the beauty." He playfully winked to her as people chimed in on bamboo. "Yes yes, those are all true for old bamboo. This mutated stuff is something spectacular." Ryuji wished he could just show Kore and the others it. "Ah! That's perfect!" Turning to face Kore he smiled. "If you want to see the bamboo forests of New-Asia, then you can come along when I return, all of you can. I'm sure my people will welcome you, as New-Asia is very accepting of abnorms of all types." He chuckled as she suddenly started off somewhere telling the group to stay put. "Well, the wandering woman can tell me what she likes, but alas, I am a man that must seek beauty."

Slipping over to a tree, Ryuji turned to Snow. "You've made your choice little snowflake." He said calmly to Snow before climbing up the tree. "Know that you've likely made an enemy of our guide. I will do what I can to aide you, but I have a mission." He stopped after saying that. His hands and feet pulling him up to the branches towards the top of the trees. Sure, Kore wouldn't like it, but looking over the tops of the branches, being close to the sky, Ryuji wanted that. He wanted the freedom of the birds. "I have to succeed, or I shall never know peace." He spoke to himself as he gazed over the patches of green against the irradiate neons of the setting sun. "Ah, Hifumi, if only you could see this." Thinking back to the one that had opened his eyes to the world of beauty, Ryuji felt a single tear roll down his cheek, thankful that nobody was around.

Rose Valencia

Not noticing much with her headphones in, Rose watched as Kore ran off. She quickly turned off her device and started after her. Their guide couldn't just leave them here to die, and besides. If she was going somewhere, that meant there was information to be gained. Running through the brush and vines, Rose kept her eyes glued to Kore. It was difficult, to say the least, but as she caught up to the girl she saw whom she was after. He seemed bat shit crazy. There was no point in talking to someone like that. If he couldn't even remember who he was then he'd just slow the group down further. "So, you left us all behind to chase after some psycho?" She called out as she walked out from behind some branches. Rose tilted her head in disbelief. "The dude doesn't even remember his own name!, not that I believe that, but still." Rose walked over to the man and looked down at him. "We should get him to the medic. Plants will help, but he needs a doctor to look at him." Rose wasn't one to just leave a person behind like this. Yeah she didn't trust people, but when it came to being weak and defenseless, she knew what that was like. "Come on," Rose put herself on the man's weak side and offered her shoulder, though she doubted that it would do much good with her height. "Right, too short for this." Rose grumbled to herself as she looked between Kore and this new person.

While she spoke he was wobbling his arms at the sky, he was trying to remember his name as she spoke but to her it probably looked like he was crazy. She expected him to attack or run or stay still. He did stay still but was still wobbling his arms at the sky. Boy was he leaving a lasting impression on her "What is my name?" He says repeating what she says with focus "I got this..the world calls to me and tells me it is Zephyr Lenos" Zephyr says stopping his wobbling only to give a really confused look "Not right, Was it Wenos, Denos, Cenos.....hmmmmm. Wait I got this, Don't worry" It was sad to watch him try to remember, he was trying desperately to remember but could not. And him telling her not to worry was laced with fear and a nervous laugh. He quickly dug into his bag and pulled out a small scrap of paper and looked it over. Then flipped it the right side up because he was trying to read it upside down. "Xenos...how did I forgot that. Uh, I am..." he paused for a minute as another girl came, she was pink. "ZEPHYR XENOS" he yells throwing his hands up in the air "I did it without problems" he says looking to his hand and remembering he had the paper in his hand "Wait, no I needed the paper" Zephyr says putting it back in his bag. Through his whole confused speech to try to remember he never even noticed her making the healing stuff.

When she handed him something and he took it, he was shaking but seemed overall very outgoing. He was a confusing thing. He looked at her confused again "
My wounds..? OH, I am putting down what you are picking up" he says taking the mush and slapping it on his forehead he began to pat it with his hands "Don't think grass helps your brain but what do I know" he says smearing the stuff all over his face and slightly spiking his hair up. He looked at both of them with the paste all over his face and the front of his hair "I have done it" he says.

At this point most people would have given up but the pink girl walked over to try to help him. Kore would notice that when the girl touched him he had no reaction, he did not attack her, he did not run. He was just sitting there now looking really dumb. Zephyr poked the pink girls hair "
You have nice hair too" he says for no other reason to say it. His side was bleeding still, right where his left lung was. He still did not notice it.

Snow

13.12.15%252520-%2525201.gif

She held her breath as everything and everyone started to freak out. Snow stood her ground though. Her eyes went back to the Hunter as he was dropped. The little girl had scared her. Gosh she was strong. But Snow needed to protect him… he would not be killed. “I’m… I’m sorry Hunter. But now no one can say they want to kill you because you’ll betray us. You won’t be able to put me in danger like that. And if you put any of these people in danger… then I am unprotected. So to save me, you must be loyal to them.”
Tears fell out of her eyes as the small girl caved in on herself. Snow hadn’t wanted that. Why was she calling herself a mutt? She was a girl. “P...please. His abnorm must have… it must have made you drop him somehow. I promise you aren’t worthless. It’s a give and take my Abnorm… I… I um…” She looked at Rose and Kore. They would kill her. She was certain. “It just is a give and take.”
Snow couldn’t elaborate. Sera made… Sera at least was someone she trusted completely. “Thank you. I… that means so m-much.” The tears fell as she wiped them away from her face. The relief from having Sera and terror that Kore was putting in her just made her emotions uncontrollable.

Kore… she thought Snow would hurt her? Suddenly the sadness was replaced by complete befuddlement.

“I would NEVER target anyone. Especially you. You are helping us. You are showing such a great kindness to a bunch of strangers but you can't for this man? What did I do? I fixed the problem. He won’t betray us. The pink girl made sure he can’t run away. HE is no threat. I give you my word I will not harm you indirectly or otherwise. But I am also giving him my word he will not be killed.”

Jackson cut her off. Why did she do it? Rob him… oh god she wished that her power was nothing. That she wasn’t just a weak parasite, doomed to survive by the strength of others… but she knew exactly why she has used a power she had kept hidden for four years.

“No one should have any more blood on their hands Jackson. I will not become the monster he thinks we are. The monsters proved to him in the first place by talking about his life as if it held no meaning! As if he doesn’t matter. I know what it feels like to be told that my life holds no meaning. That I am worthless. I am sure all of you know exactly what I am talking about. To be treated less than human. I refuse. I refuse to let anyone turn me into a monster, even if that is what my Abnormality has made me. Even if that is what… what you all see me as.”
A voice made her turn her head. Ryu. The stranger who had saved her life. He had been so protective. So kind… but he was comforting Kore. That was what he admired huh? Strength. A warrior’s will… Snow was no warrior. She wasn’t strong. She was hopeful and foolish and nervous and timid and incredibly determined to save this one Hunters life. Yes, it was as Ryu said. She had made her choice. And it seemed as if it had put her on the opposing side. She wasn’t on his team. What an odd feeling? She felt… she felt lonely. Would he… would he still be kind to her? Was he done with her? Snow reached out to him, a small step, her mouth open to ask some of these questions. She just wanted to know that the stranger who had saved her life now wasn’t on Kore’s side about… about well possibly ending it. “Ry-”

He was gone up a tree. He had a mission. Oh god how stupid. She had forgotten that to rely on others is to give up your freedom. How quickly she had forgotten her lessons when the chance at maybe being around people who were like her had come along. She really was a fool. Snow turned back to Scarlett and Lucca, sitting by him, knowing it would ease the blood song. She looked at the husk of a little girl, wondering if… wondering if she could do anything to ease that.

“I know… w-what it’s like to be treated as a pet. I-I almost had a master too once. I escaped… but I could be j-just like you if I hadn’t.” She didn’t know what else to say.

Kore Dair
Kore whipped her head around, her eyes blazing. "Don't say that.", she spat fiercely. "Losing your memories is awful. You have no idea what he's going through.", by the end, she just sounded tired, like she had given up.
Her eyes were soft as she spoke to him, "It's okay, you did great.", she smiled before looking at Rose.
"She used the last of her stuff on Snow, I believe. Ah, I'm tall enough, he'll be easy to carry. But... Thank you.", she smiled at Rose, before turning back to Zephyr. "Well done for remembering your name. I know it's hard, to hold onto your memories, but it will come with time. I promise.", her face was unfathomably sad, as she looked into his eyes.
She saw herself in him, and knew just how hard it was. But she had the trees to help her. He was all alone...
Sighing, she plunged a hand into the same pocket as the Wooly lamb's ear, and pulled out a scrap of cloth, and began to clean the herbs off his face, "They've done all they can, now we need to clean you up.". Once he was mostly clean, she folded the cloth, putting it back in her pocket.
"I'm going to pick you up now, okay?", she said softly, putting an arm under his legs, and another behind his back, and picked him up in a bridal carry. The ivy around her frame meant it was easy for her, and she tried to be as careful as possible.
"Let's go.", she said to Rose, as she sighed.

Jackson listened as Snow spoke about how she did not want to be less than human and that she refused to be treated as such. She also firmly declared that she would help curb the hunter's opinion. Jackson sighed and stepped next to her placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. "Snow, I was never born a human, but that hasn't stopped me from discarding what humanity I might possess just because I'm an abnormal. We're in a unique position because of it and we can either be ruled by others' preconceived beliefs, or we can show our own beliefs and not let ourselves be ruled by someone else's. I understand why you felt the need to protect him, you didn't want him to die." Jackson then took a deep breath as this was a very difficult piece that he was about to say. "When my power became apparent, I was scared about what I was. "Was I a monster?" My prior dwelling had stressed that Abnorms were to be hunted down. However, I did not let that stop me from living as a human despite not being born as one. I was 19 when I first stained my hands with crimson as I had likely killed someone. What did I do? I ran after saying good bye to my mom and dad. I got my fresh start. It was during this fresh start that I started to run with an Abnorm guild that helped people and I was exposed to the good that we can do despite possessing powers. I only use my powers when there's no other alternative, its why I deflected that steel beam back in the bar. So I'll say it again Snow, don't let anyone tell you that you're less than a human just because you're an Abnorm."

Patrick had actually been enjoying the hike, it brought him back to a time before the world went to hell, before he got his oh so handy gift, it brought him back to his military days. A forced march through rough terrain, having to keep all your senses strained to they're utmost limits on the constant watch for any targets, his third cigarette was dumping nicotine into his system so his headache was pretty much gone, he had been enjoying the hike. Now he was standing in the middle of the path looking at the bleeding girl and the medic, trying to calm the immediate boiling rage that had come from seeing Scarlett break down like she did. Whatever had happened to this girl, it left some deep mental scars, and Patrick couldn't even fathom that happening to anyone her age.

He managed to finally get his anger under control, by thinking that perhaps Scarlett would think his anger was directed at her, that wouldn't do at all. After a final drag he put out his cigarette and slowly made his way over to the crying young girl. He knelt down next to Scarlett and put a protective arm over her shoulders, Scarlett, he said gently, its ok, I can't pretend to know what you've been through kid, but I'm willing to listen, to help you if I can, and I can promise that no one here will hurt you as long as I'm around, he finished that statement with a quick look to everyone else in the group, a look promising violence for anyone that tried to make him a liar. As his looked passed over the bleeding girl he paused this was another girl that was a victim of this "new world", a world that hated her and everyone in this group for something they couldn't control, these kids were being punished for the mistakes of his generation. Patrick suddenly felt very old, look I can't say if what just happened was the right choice to make, he said softly to the bleeding girl, but it was a decision made with compassion that is so rare these days, so I can't fault you for it. He paused and looked at the bleeding girl, the to the medic and finally to the man wearing a mask, these were genuinely good people, maybe he could trust these kids.

He made his decision with a nod of his head, and looked at the bleeding girl, the names Patrick, these kids are with me, and thank you for trying to help, he said before turning back to Scarlett and wrapping the tiny girl in a hug letting her cry.

It warmed Sera's heart to see at least someone other than her standing up for the ones that are troubled. This group, split right down the middle as it is, was on the verge of collapse, with Kore reacting negatively to that ultimatum that Snow had created. With the back-and-forth decision making occurring, maybe that was the right call.

Jackson's speech was also quite moving, being that it was a testimony using his own past. Putting it into perspective, all these people lived harsh years prior, and it seemed to Sera that she had it cozy. Maybe that is why she supported Snow so much.

"Well said, Jackson. Didn't strike me as the person to have said such things to someone you don't quite know... you certainly have said less to me," Sera teased. "He's right, Snow."

At this point, the girl holding on to... someone had fallen to ground and began to cry, whispering about morbid things. Patrick, revealing his name and the girl to be Scarlett, wrapped his arms around his children protectively.

"And... Scarlett right? What Jackson said applies to you as well. You are human because you are human, not because someone says so or otherwise, got it?" Sera could only be in one spot, but she wanted to embrace them all, the ones who must live their childhood in such a terrible world. What little love is left, Sera wanted to smother them with it. But, sadly there was another pressing matter to attend to.

"Come, up we go everyone! Our guide has left us, so it's best if we collect ourselves and prepare to continue moving. Um... Miss Tree Lady!!" Sera called out. "We're terribly sorry, could you come out pleeeeease?!"

Lucca Malkovich
Location: Forest

It seemed that everything was going to be fine, for the girl at least, as most of her "friends" here were more understanding than the other few. For Lucca, not so much, as he was flying though the air before he could even breath a sigh of relief.

"Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit!" he yelled right before he hit the ground and begun to tumble down a less-than-gentle incline.

Well, he thought, maybe I'll keep rolling and escape this way. But as soon as he thought about his esacpe, something begun to interrupt his thoughts, a noise... a song, a sweet, sweet song, and it made him felt like he didn't what to leave despite all common sense telling him otherwise.

Eventually, his continuous tumble was stopped by Scarlett, who really shouldn't have dropped him in the first place, but though she stopped him, his hat had came off and continued rolling, which was a darn shame cause he liked that hat. It was right after did the girl, the one that had jabbed him with her torn came running to him, and she looked at him with pity, telling him that she was sorry, but that the other, her "friends" won't want to kill him anymore, but also that Lucca himself won't be able to put her in danger or anyone else in her gang else she would be unprotected.

"I'll be the judge of that." Lucca said plainly, but in the back of his mind, he felt that she was right, yet he does not know the reason why, and when he tried to think of a reason, the song came into his head again, signing to him softly as if telling him not to worry about such trivial things.

"Say that I believe you. But..." Lucca was struggling to think properly with the da- sweet song in his head, "But don't expect me to sit idly if any of these "friends" of yours start any trouble, with me or anyone else."

Though despite saying all that, he was indeed idle, as his body was paralyzed from the neck down, lying there on the ground awkwardly as Scarlett cries while being held by the old timer, and while the armored guy gave and inspirational speech.

"So... we all cool now?"

Rose Valencia

She sighed as she listened to Kore talk. "You know what?" Rose bit her tongue. There was no point in this. She watched her pick him up bridal style and shook her head. A bit of a show off this girl was. "So Zephyr was it? How'd you wind up in these woods? And why ON EARTH were you trying to climb that tree?" She wanted to know. This person was insane, clinically insane, from what she could tell, but there may have been some underlying reason to his madness. Of course, ultimately she could just stab his throat if he ultimately became too big a problem. But at the same time, her family could've done the same to her. It was one thing to kill someone that was useless when they crossed you, killing someone useless just for that reason was crossing the line when it came to her family. "Eh, why am I even asking?" Rose sighed as she looked towards where they were going. "Don't tell anyone I was being nice, got me?" Rose spoke to Kore coldly as they moved, one of the first times she held no cheer in her voice since their meeting. "I don't want those people trying to be my friend when we get back. I tagged along because I want to get to the next town, nothing more." Rose quieted down as the rest of the group started coming into sight.

Scarlett O'Hare

Dogs like you aren't even worth the scraps off my plate. Her old master's voice rang in her head. It was the most penetrating and deep feelings that had ever been given to her. Slowly though, voices filled her ears. "Wha..." Scarlett's voice trailed off as the little girl with thorns spoke to her about being in a similar situation. But you didn't wind up like me, did you? You have no idea what it means to be a slave, no, not even that. To be a dog, at least a slave is recognized as human. Scarlett wanted to scream at the girl, but the thought of speaking made her jerk away from Snow on reflex. Even as Jackson spoke of being labeled a monster, it didn't reach her. It was worth a try though as Scarlett could feel the tears slowly stopping. Everyone's trying in their own way.

Then Patrick joined in. Her new master, so to speak. He promised that she wouldn't be hurt by the others, but that wasn't it. The others didn't hurt her, she hurt herself. She never fought back against the abuse, because she was afraid of hunters. And even when she could run, she feared her master too much to do so. But now she feared him too much to return. Her fear and weakness were always her guide. She never sought something herself and now she was holding everyone back. She truly was weak. But to not let it show, Scarlett forced a smile onto her face and nodded to everyone, picking up the hunter and tightening her grip on him. "Not gonna drop." She spoke clearly as she looked to the others. Her heart still just one pin prick from shattering again.

Dealing with Zephyr was kind of like dealing with an infant in a way, he was just kinda doing weird stuff no one understood but just dealt with because they felt bad for him. Kore yelled at Rose about how she had no idea what he was going through. He looked to her and said "Don't worry I also don't know what I'm going through" he says to her with the worst attempt at a wink possible. He pretty much did the lizard thing where they close and open one eye then do it again quickly with the other. It was a poor attempt but an attempt never the less. She told him good job and said some things about how his memory would return with time. He never thought of it that way but in all honesty he had just been running around the past week just trying to get by so remembering was not his objective at the moment.

The pink girl asked him where he came from and why he was climbing the tree as he was picked up by the forest lady. "
Uh....I don't remember where I just was because I don't know where I am now and I was trying to figure out which direction was which but then I forgot the direction I was looking for. It was a big mess. I also seem to be floating now" Zephyr says turning and looking at Kore "Nice weather we are having" He says. He was king of making situations more awkward then they needed to be, but to him this all was fine and normal.

But then again he finally noticed the lung "
Must have broke the seem, Wilma told me not to break the seem. I have failed her. " He spoke, he remembered the lady who helped him first, but then again, he did not suffer from antegrade amnesia so he could remember new information well he just had an active mind and tended to forget. But he could remember new information easily, the only reason he forgot north was simply because he was more worried about being lost in a forest and it slipped his mind. Easy. As Zephyr was being carried he heard more noises "Do they know who I am" he asked still being lugged around. "Are you good at fixing bullet wounds? Pretty sure someone shot me" Zephyr says poking at the blood.

Snow:
yui_by_roty01-d6udev4.png

Snow looked up at Jackson, smiling softly at the kindness shown to her by this masked man. “Thank you…” She whispered softly, looking down at the Hunter… his hat was gone. Wait? Had he been wearing a hat? Snow never even really noticed what the Hunter had been wearing. He came into focus now though all of a sudden. The Blood Bond must have erased some of the effects his abnorm had on her. Snow turned, putting her attention back on Jackson. So he had joined a guild huh? How… how brave of him to tell her about his past. She stood slowly, her legs now scabbed over some and crusty with blood. She hugged him since her thorns were in and she could not hurt him. What kind words to be said to her… and just when she had thought she had lost the only person who would be kind. Maybe she would feel comfortable around Ryu again soo. But until then she had Sera and Jackson. And now the Hunter.

She turned and looked back, letting go of Jackson as the big man with the small children spoke to her. She bit her lip nervously knowing she had upset his girl… oh goodness… He was scary but… well to Snow he seemed like a big ole gruffy bear. Those kids by hi made him look like a big warm hearted softy while the exterior of his appearance sent chills down spines.

But he had also given her bandages. He was another kind stranger. He couldn’t fault her. She smiled even more, wiping away her tears as she nodded silently. Patrick. Not big ole tough army guy.

“I’m Snow… you um… you have me bandages outside the tavern. Thank you. And thank you for understanding my motives. I… I am so sorry she is upset by it. I didn’t mean to make her cry.” Snow said softly, looking away ashamed. Who made a little girl cry? How awful of her… maybe she could make it better somehow.

She sat down beside the Hunter again. “So… do you hear the song? If you do… it means it worked. You’re an Abnorm.” He was speaking, his words tough. And he had a southern touch to his voice. What a funny character.

“All you can do is sit idly Hunter, you are paralyzed I believe.” Snow said softly, laughing a little. She blushed up to her neck and frowned a bit. “But… I-I will try to get that fixed. P-please don’t take that as a threat. Really, these people… we’re all just trying to leave Hunter. I won’t let any trouble find you…” She paused, looking to him for a name. If he provided one or not maybe she could give him a nickname. “I think we are all cool now.” She stood up as Scarlett picked him up again. The small girls words cut Snow deep. Yes… she hadn’t been caught. But she had paid a price for that. Stop… don’t remember that. The little girl really wanted to hold onto him, but Snow knew his new enhanced Abnorm was why Scarlett had dropped him. She was strong enough to lift him. Strong enough to carry him. “Okay, but I’ll just… walk beside you okay? So I can make sure he is okay… I um… It should be easier on him as well to be closer." She looked to her, to Patrick, to the small boy before a thought crossed her mind. "But w-wait right here please! I’ll be right back.”

Snow knew that Sera was leading them forward but Snow wanted to offer a peace symbol to the Hunter. She ran down the steep hill, holding onto tree’s to slow her sloppy decent as she got to the bottom and found the hat. She picked it up, her bare feet scratched and her cheeks as well from the brambles and twigs that had snapped at her on her way down. The climb up was harder and her face flushed from the physical effort as she began climbing back up, slipping now and then on the leaves of the forest floor. “Got it!”

Kore Dair
"Fair enough.", Kore said to Rose, deciding it was probably in her best interest to do as the pink haired woman asked. After addressing that, she turned her attention to Zephyr, not following Rose for a moment.
"Well, see. That's the problem. Because I do know what you're going through.", Kore smiled sadly. She was worried, deep down. Some of her memories had come back to her - but she was still unable to remember anything before she was five, it was just... An empty void. Hopefully he could gain his memories back, though.
"No, they don't know who you are, I'm sorry. Hopefully we can get that fixed for you...", her voice stayed as calm as she could keep it, but it was a little strained around the edges. Shot? That... That isn't good.
"Thank you for telling me. And it's good you remember Wilma, that's great. I'm Kore, see if you can remember that for me. I'm going to take you to a... Doctor now.", she smiled at him, and began to walk back to the group, where she only just heard Sera call her 'tree lady'.
She sighed, and the thorn bushes ahead of her that she had put up shrivelled up and died, turning dry and pale brown. She had taken the energy back from her artificial thorns, something she had a feeling she would need.
"My name is Kore. Not 'tree lady'.", she said to Sera before continuing, "And perhaps you could take a look at him?", she sat Zephyr carefully on the ground, and looked up at Sera. "He may be hurt... Quite badly.", her eyes tightened, as she stood up and out of the way.
She looked over the rest of the group, her eyes settling on the-
The hunter!! How... How did I forget about him?! That was stupid. Her eyes narrowed ever so slightly in his direction, before she turned her attention back down to Zephyr. It seemed he was her charge now, at least she knew how to deal with memory loss in a way...

Vira
Tib199u.png

Vira had finally managed to find herself a river, which meant fresh water went down her gullet. It relieved her somewhat, but she still suffered from some tiredness. Needing a break, she did the next best thing, she took some time, but disrobed her classy red and black attire, all the way down to her lower undergarments, and she slid right into the water to bathe. It was nearly the perfect temperature, just a bit cool, but mostly warm. Shivering out of the thrill of feeling the water on her, she slid down, submerging herself in the river up to her nose. Blinking, staring out across the water, Vira took a moment to think, relax, enjoy the calm.. Before she stood up, and fetched some crappyish soap from her pouch. She got to washing herself down, making some bubbles float at the surface of the river; those very bubbles washing downstream from the slight current, indicating Vira's positioning upstream.

Vira was in the process of bathing, when something struck her as off. Pausing mid-scrub, she dropped the small crappy soap into the river, hearing it plop, and 'feeling' it sink to the rocky, silty bottom around her feet. Grabbing her darkhair, wet, she pulled it to the side, feeling it stick to her, turning abruptly to the shoreline. Glaring out, she said loudly, "Okay, I know you're there. Come out!" Her things were on the shore of the river, sword included; eyes glanced at them for a moment, judging distance, among other things.

"Heh heh heh... My, intuitive are we?" a throaty, growly voice came out. A second later, a foul looking man slid out of a tree just beside her shit. He had a slimy look to him, both figuratively and literally. And the way he pulled himself out of that tree... It was creepy, like something out of a nightmare. He was clearly an Abnorm.

"Tch," Vira was slightly disappointed in herself, grinding her teeth together, stepping forward once. How had she let him get so close without even realizing he was there? She bent down and pulled up a particularly sharp rock out of the water. "What do you want?" she hissed out, a threat on her tongue. She was almost naked, giving him full view of herself, but to Vira, she did not care about that sorta thing.

The man held up his hands, "Woah woah, calm down kitty! I'm just here to chat..."

He trailed off. That bothered her. So did 'kitty'? Why would he call her that? Anyway, he was giving off horrific waves on her power now. His ability to sneak up on even her like that? Yeah, that was also a red alarm, she brought up the rock like a knife, standing in a threatening position, taking another step forward, she was almost out of the river now. "About? -Sounded like you had a specific reason, by the way you approached me, by that statement."

"Heh... Yep, definitely intuitive. -Is that how you managed to last this long?"
He wondered aloud, taking a step forward too, with a knife up in his hands. Hers. He flipped it around casually. "Right. What about?.. Heh!" He smirked, and pointed at his back with his thumb, with an arm over his shoulder. Then nodded towards her expectantly.

It took her a second, but then her face lit up in realization. For a brief moment she was shocked, forgetting that bathing allowed someone to see such a thing..! Her hand instinctively reached around to her bare back, brushing the tattoo there. Glaring even harsher now, she wished she had some sort of heat vision power, to burn him alive with her very eyesight. "What?"

"Oh, come on now. Don't play dumb! You know what I'm getting at." He took a second to wait for her acknowledgement. When none came the man sighed, running his free hand through his scraggly dark hair. "...The symbol there. Your marking. You're one of us. Or you would be... if you weren't a deserter." He darkened his face for the first time, gripping the knife tightly, til his skin went white. "The boss doesn't like deserters... and neither do I."

Lucca Malkovich
Location: Forest

"Good, that's good, not dropping is good."

Lucca was talking to Scarlett, who had expressed that she wouldn't drop him a second time. He was peaking more freely that he had imagined he would, most likely because he now felt protected, though he does not understand how she did it, it at least seem like the people around him are less inclined to kill him now. He felt that he could relax now, yet, he couldn't, that song, sweet as it may be, is bothering him, it would not leave him be, constantly nagging at him and as the song goes on, he could not help but turn his gaze to that girl... What was her name, Snow?

She approached him once more, and for some reason, her presence made him comfortable. Was he actually glad that she's close to him? She does seem nice, and she is giving him quite a good amount of attention, more that he'd think anyone person could give him.

"Oh, really?" he said to her with a sarcastic tone when she mentioned that he was an Abnorm, "Yeah right! The next thing you'll tell me is that tree lady actually is really nice, and that old timer over there isn't actually a gang boss, and that everyone here just wounded up together somehow and just so happens to be heading in the same direction and isn't really a gang."

Now would that be the most ridiculous thing he'll hear, but setting that aside.

"But yes, I heard that song and it's...... distracting. I recon it's your doing, right? When does it stop?"

But as he said those words to her, he felt as if he didn't want it to stop, he wanted it to continue to sing sweetly into his ear, he wanted the girl, Snow, to give him more attention. And it was at this point he knew that these feelings don't come from him, at least, that he what he wanted to believe.

Then suddenly, the girl ran off, and Lucca felt a sense of loss and his heart was aching as the song became louder, as if berating him. Well, she's probably gone to "water the flowers", he though to himself as a distraction, secretly hoping that she'd come back to him soon.

Sera wasn't quite sure if the tree lady would return or not, even if she called to her. Disappearing behind some thorn bushes, it was obvious that she was to not follow. Snow's decision seemed to have angered her some, for some reason, though Sera had an idea. While she didn't enjoy killing, she was aware of when it needs to be done in order to save more. This was an exception however, and thankfully no one has really questioned her abnormality. Being with the group, it might've been assumed she was abnormal, but nobody has seen it yet. And, whatever happens in those bushes was not her business, until that tree lady, who told her straight that her name was Kore, did away with the thorns and came out with a... bleeding person?!

"Hurt?! T-that's putting it... never mind. What happened? What's his name?" Sera examined the man's body, noting the injuries. The man had a rather spacey look on his face, maybe shock? Regardless, Sera went to work. The bandages were all gone from her bag, but that's why she kept cloth on her arms in the first place. Hastily opening her bag, she took out tape for which to hold the cloth to stop the bleeding. She had to unwrap several rolls off of her arms, partially exposing them to eyes. "This is not good. I'm not fully equipped to perform anything more than a simple stoppage. Did he get shot? By the looks of it, it's not something that was inflicted with a short-ranged weapon." Sera held the man's face to hers, worry in her eyes, but nevertheless, she assured him. "No matter, I won't let you die if I can help it."

Turn to Kore, Sera addressed her, urgently, "We need to move fast, I bought him some time, but without more tools he won't last long. I don't want to make assumptions here, but it's better to assume the worst just in case." Almost forgetting to add, Sera tilted her head to Kore again. "How's that other woman doing? Not the pink-haired one, the foul mouth."

Zephyr was a little spaced out when Kore brought him into the camp with all the other abnorms, he looked around but it was all too scary for him. Big ol blur. Or was that him losing too much blood. He was then set down by a woman who grabbed him and started squishing his face and telling him he would not die. He was dying? hmmm he did not think so. "I woke up like this in a field a while ago, some lady fixed me up but she was not really equipped for it either I think. She also told me not to break the seem and I think I broke it" Zephyr says, his words were slowing quite a bit but he was always weird so it was hard to tell whether he was kicking the bucket or not. He still looked spaced out though. He looked over the new woman "You have nice hair" he says in a sort of automated way.

She was really freaking out and Zephyr was being really chill for some reason. Probably because he lost a lot of blood from hitting off those tree branches earlier. He was not the smartest person. Zephyr coughed a bit and clicked a thing on the side of his mask and it lifted so he could wipe the blood away then he clicked the mask back down and cranked the end of the gas mask and took a deep breath. For some reason he did that without any problem, as if it was instinct for him, when he moved the mask though his lips could be seen for a moment, they were slightly blue. "
I would not worry too much about it, I will survive." he says wobbling his arms in front of him again letting out a really weird chuckle as he did it. He paused for a moment though and stared into the woman eyes his eyes turning serious.

"
Do you know who I am?" he asks her his eyes growing cloudier as he did it. Big bundle of problems he was. "Man, I can't think straight, what was I doing, where was I...where am I? Everything is getting blurry again. Please don't let me forget again" he says his breathing picking up as he started to freak out staring at his hands as if they were not his, he was shaking pretty badly now and was hyperventilating and that did not help seeing how the wound that opened up was near his lung. His last words filled with intense fear only for his head to wobble a bit and fall over. Fade to black.

Keiji followed along with the group with their occasional stops. The most recent one, was where the extremely pale girl, Snow, had gone over and pricked the hunter with one of her thorns, causing their guide, Kore, to storm off, followed by the pink haired girl. Scarlet had also dropped the hunter and while everyone comforted Scarlet after she started degrading herself to 'mutt', Keiji had looked around a little bit. Shortly after, the pink haired girl, and Kore came back, and they had brought along another person to add to the group. At that point Keiji became bored and wandered off, too far for Patrick to find him instantly.

Eventually, Keiji could hear a raspy voice. He could also hear a familiar voice. The one of the girl who had previously stormed off. He crept close enough so that he could see them but they could not see him. Keiji looked down and realized that the woman wasn't really wearing her clothes. He just avoided that then watch the exchange in conversation. She's a part of a gang? Or was, apparently. It seems she was a traitor to her gang and this guy wanted her dead. He sure looks disgusting. Like he came out of a bog. Keiji opened his book and began looking through the pages for a suitable sketch in case things got too rough. This time, Patrick was not there to stop him.

Vira

Thinking hard about how this man had drawn so close to her before she could sense him, Vira grew angry. That sorta thing only happened if an abnormality was involved... He emerged from a tree... That didn't really mean much, but it did seem to indicate he had an abnormality that allowed him to merge with the environment, to ease sneaking up on others. Angry, Vira could only glare at him, as she made her way to the river's shore, taking a step up onto the bank, and pulling herself from the clinging water. She was very graceful in this, it happened before the man could even comment on her moving. Suggesting movement was a key skill of Vira. The water dripped off her nearly-naked form, her body glistening, her long dark-hair plastered to her back and shoulders. The man even had the indecency to get a full eyeful of her, grinning in obvious pleasure at the sight of her near-nakedness.

"Whew, you certainly make for a sight, dont'cha 'sister'," the man praised.

"What? I'm not you're sister," Vira immediately responded with a confused quick statement.

"No. I meant, because..." He sighed, flipping the knife around again. "Look. Just come back, okay?"

It had been bothering Vira the moment she met this weirdo. Certainly she didn't like how he had seen her tattoo, but if he had understood the meaning behind it... he should've realized just... He talked to her as if... Narrowing her eyes, she questioned. "You.. don't know who I am, do you?"

Her question got her a, "Huh?" from him. "Cuz if you did, then you wouldn't have approached me, due to the extreme fear you should be experiencing."

He should've known who he was speaking to. --Someone above 'his pay grade' so to speak. Her tattoo was the same as the rest of the gang. A tattoo for the Devil and His Demons. One of The Big Three. The gang that ultimately ruled this part of New-America. Which just begged the question why she was here, in the same territory, but eh, Vira wasn't the brightest. Hence why this interaction occurred. Anyway, her tattoo had a unique image on it. Two fangs on the devil there, one uniquely drawn. The right one. In other words, she was The Devils 'Right Hand', known as the 'Right Fang'. Or she used to be, until yah, what he said -she deserted.

"UH... Should I? I am Daeris! One of the Officers," he announced his voice struggling to sound strong, to a woman who didn't give a flying fuck who he was. Though, as an 'Officer' (she didn't really know what that meant, not recognizing the job title, but..) it seemed to match with his ability to effortlessly sneak up on another. "I have been with the gang.. for awhile, in this position." He seemed the need to wrack his brain for an answer to her question, indicating he, too, was not the brightest. "I do not recall your face.. so no, I do not know you sister. But your marking makes it clear. You are a deserter. Probably from years and years back." He glared now, "How you've managed to last this long?.. It must be because... Gr, this negligence will not go unpunished!" He was obviously talking about another. Something Vira wasn't really understanding, but again, she still didn't really care.

"Ugh, this is getting tiring," she growled. Who would've known taking a bath would lead to such an unwanted encounter? He recognized her tattoo, but must've missed the obvious scarring over it. She hadn't thought about being recognized today, but it had obviously occurred to the darkhaired girl before, hence why it looked like she had tried to cut off her own tattoo. Vira stepped towards her things -and her sword.

His eyes lit up, and he flashed the steel of 'his' knife up towards her. "Stop there witch! You think I'm just gunna let you grab for your weapon?! Come back, or die. Those are your options."

"Are they now?"
Vira replied coolly, looking over to him. He definitely made diving for her sword harder, but she wasn't worried. "Daeris, was it?" she began, grinning. "Sorry, there happens to be a third option." Unfortunately for this Abnorm, he would have to die. She couldn't let a member of TDandHDs continue to live, not after he saw her. He may not know her, but Sy.. The Devil certainly did. She couldn't let this guy bring the info about her back to his leader. "And that is your death."

"Excuse me?!" He growled out suddenly. He appeared to be desperate by his tone, despite the only one holding a weapon. "I'm the one with the knife!"

Vira sneered wickedly, sarcastically shrugging, "Oh? So you are.. I hadn't noticed~!"

..

Minutes later, a bloodied trail, and a body floated down stream, alongside soapy suds. Vira was dressed, and walking away from the scene dripping. She had to rebathe, not wanting the foulness of Daeris's blood on her, while she made her way. She never fully got what his abnormality was, but with her own? He was a joke. Sure, he sneaked up on her surprisingly well, but when actually squaring off? Any attacks with the knife were meaningless, it might as well have been a feather. She effortlessly avoided any of his strikes, got the drop on him, then stabbed him herself. It was over within moments and was completely unsatisfying for the girl. Their chat lasted longer.

Kore Dair
Kore listened to both Sera and Zephyr, not saying anything. She didn't want to give his name out willy nilly, but once he had blacked out, she sighed, and picked him up again. "From what I've seen already, he has amnesia. Moving quickly will accomplish nothing - but it is only...", she thought for a second, "An hour or so to where we should set up camp, next to the river.", she looked down at her bag of grains. Ivy trailed out from behind her collar, at the back of her neck, and wrapped around the bag, picking it up and holding it to the back of her shoulders. It was only a little more weight for her, the ivy again supporting most of the weight.
"Oh, her?", Kore cocked her head for a minute, listening to the trees, and snorted. "She's doing just fine...", smiling and shaking her head, she turned forwards again.
Setting off again, she noticed they had reached the dense undergrowth. "Follow the path I make.", she said as the undergrowth parted in front of her, creating a clear path wide enough to just accommodate two people standing next to each other. The path would close behind the last person in the group as they trudged on, at a good and pretty quick pace that Kore set, going quicker as the ground levelled.

Jackson smiled under the mask as Snow hugged him for what he said; it seemed as though she understood what he was trying to say. However, she detached herself from him as a new person made themselves known, Patrick was his name. Soon after Sera teased him by saying that he's said less to her, Oh he would revisit this very soon he would. Soon Kore remembered from the forrest, and she carrying a boy in her arms? Sera went to examine him as that was what she was good at Jackson supposed. There was even talk of a gunshot wound and he was reminded of the spirits in his flask. His father had told him that in the event of an emergency, spirits make a good sterilizer. Of course afterwords, Kore began to leave carrying the bag of grains and the boy with some help from her abnorm it seemed as Ivy began to help support her. It was at this time he figured that he'd talk to Kore. Walking up to the head of the column, he walked beside her and spoke "I guess we can put the issue of the hunter on the back burner for the moment."

Patrick stared down at Scarlett as the girl hefted the hunter on to her back again with concern in his eyes, she was putting up a strong front he knew he had served alongside soldiers that acted the same way she did. Something or someone had give this girl a severe case PTSD and he hated every second of it, I believe you, he said in reply to the young girls determination. He didn't know how to help her, but if he would be there for her when she needed him, that's all he could do for the girl he had decided to protect.

At Snow's words he looked at her out of the corner of his eye, I remember you, he managed to say before she ran off down the hill. What a strange girl he thought just before the hunter spoke up, Yeah and your a homicidal maniac that kills people and children because they were born different from what you call human, he muttered with a raised eyebrow. He disliked hunters, the so called heroes of humanity was just a group of glorified murders as far as he was concerned.

The soldier turned as Snow struggled back up the hill with the hunters hat, he shook his head, the girl was to nice for her own good. Motioning for Scarlett to follow the rest of the group Patrick made his way back and help Snow up the rest of the hill. Girl you might be to nice for your own good with how the world is now, he said as he took her hand and guided her the rest of the way up the hill. Lets go Keiji we have a ways to go yet, he yelled as they rejoined the rest of the group, but he didn't hear a reply and stopped in his tracks. He looked around slowly, Wheres the kid, he said softly. He almost started to panic, until he remembered what the druid girl, Kore, said the fighter girl from earlier was doing fine. She clearly had some sort of tracking skills, he pushed his way to the front of the group completely forgetting he still had Snow's hand, so he ended up pulling the young woman along behind him, Kore wheres my kid, he said in the same soft tone, except there was a strange edge to his voice now.

Keiji watched their conversation. They didn't seem to know each other. That didn't really matter anyway. It only took the girl mere minutes to kill the man, and his body now floated down the river, clear for anyone to see. He was definitely not going to fill his canteens there. However admired how swiftly she was able to take out the man. He speed itself was enough to make him wonder if she had that for an ability. Or was it heightened senses? It didn't really matter, since he needed to get back now. Keiji knew that Patrick would not be happy to find out that he had disappeared for a good while. Keiji turned from the woman and only took a step forward only to realize something.

Which way was back again? It all looks the same. They had probably started moving, too, so there was a good chance that Keiji won't be able to find them again. He sighed. That loud woman seemed like his only chance of finding them. He wasn't about to use his abnorm to find them, so he turned back to her and started to head over, hoping he was not about to be thrown into the river, too. Shortly after, he reached the bottom of the hill and now followed her, but spoke so as not to create too much alarm. "I lost the other group so I'm coming with you now." He said and looked back at the river. It was even more red than before. He continued to follow her, not mentioning anything about what he had witnessed.

Kore said nothing to Jackson, deciding perhaps it was best not to say anything more about it, even if she still held by her decision. Of course, if he was an abnorm, and knew he was an abnorm, that would be a bit different. But he seemed to be dead set on his current mindset. Without realising it, she had forgotten about him again, and it was good thing that Jackson had reminded her. If Snow was sure he was an abnorm, his power must have something to do with forgetfulness. Something that irked her to no end. She would have to have a 'chat' with him once they set up camp.
She looked over at the other male, who seemed pretty worried. "Hmmm? Oh, he's fine. We'll see him soon enough.", she sounded calm, relaxed. Although she decided it was probably best not to mention he was with Madame foul-mouth...
"Perhaps you should keep a closer eye on your son.... What was your name again?", she asked casually, deciding to pay closer attention to the boy through the trees.

Vira

She looked at her soap, a frown on her face. "Ick, river soap," she mused aloud. Shrugging at the small thing that she had dropped into the depths of the river, she tossed it to the side, hearing it rustle some leaves when it hit the ground out of sight.

"You didn't have to kill him," a silky soft voice sounded inside of her head.

With an outward sigh, Vira spoke, "You know I did." It was pretty obvious why she had to, and it should've been self-explanatory to Ellie of all people. "If I hadn't..."

"Yes, I know, he would've reported you to Syd-"

"DON'T SAY HIS NAME!" Vira growled furiously, stopping mid-step, clenching her fists at her side hard.

"You done?" Ellie questioned.

Face furrowed in frustration, the young woman drew in a breath, calming down. Opening her eyes, she nodded.

"Why do you refuse to say his name?" Ellie again questioned, tilting her head oh so cutely to the side, so that her shortish-mediumish light blonde hair swished off to the side.

Of course, all this was in Vira's mind's eye. Ellie... wasn't around anymore. That was her response, too. Coldly, she whispered, "Shut up Ellie. You're not here anymore." Pausing... Vira waited for her sister's response. Snarky. Sarcastic. Sweet? Chiding? What would be the direction Ellie would take with her reply?.. But no reply came. Vira 'opened' her eyes, looking around. Ellie was gone. Good... like it should be.

Suddenly a voice -an actual voice- resounded from behind her. And Vira squeaked with a start. Spinning around she looked at the person there. "WHA?! W-who..? -Who are you?!" A bewildered look, mixed with a startled 'nuh-uh' look crossed her face. She got sterner, "What? No! Absolutely not! Go away!" She waved her hands at the boy, "shoo shoo! Go back to wherever you came from! I have an exclusive policy against not babysitting!"

With that, she turned back around on her heel, and began storming off into the forest at a much brisker speed.

Ryuji Nakamoto

The breeze called to him as he stood atop the tree. For once he'd gotten away from the world below. "It's good to have air." He muttered as he noticed a red stain in the river ahead. Something fairly decent in size had died there. "Maybe a person." He muttered as he slid back down the tree, his mind still moving back to his mission and his past. How long had it been since he'd actually thought about these things? Especially his past. "Need to calm down." Ryuji's voice only audible to himself. He turned and noticed the group had yet another male join them. Shrugging at his injuries, Ryuji just figured the man would either die by nightfall or survive through til they could get to a true doctor and be on his way. Slowly making his way behind Kore and the rest, Ryuji looked at the trees with a bit of emptiness. Not the save intense look like when he wore his mask or the lively look he let everyone see, just empty. As if he was just moving so as to feel that he was still there, still breathing, and not somewhere within his memories.

Rose Valencia

Rose was thankful that Kore was keeping her sudden kindness a secret from the rest. After all, she'd been cruel since they met. If they all hated her, so be it. It just meant there were less people, like her cousin, to stab her in the back. Looking at Zephyr though, Rose couldn't help but mumble. "We need to disinfect the wound as a precaution before we completely close it up." Her words just loud enough for Sera to hear as Rose moved to a tree, leaning against it while waiting to move on. The minute Kore said they were off, she was the first to move with energy. "About time." Her words were soft and neither chipper nor edgy. She just felt relieved to not be sitting in one spot in the middle of the god forsaken woods.

Scarlett O'Hare

Scarlett was concentrating, not only on her footing, but on the boy she was carrying. She wanted to make sure that whatever caused her to drop him never happened again. Watching Patrick run off, Scarlett felt nervous, but knew that he hadn't said to follow. So she walked behind the group next to the girl with white hair. "Snow." She said the girl's name just so she wouldn't forget. Then she realized something. "Who are you?" She asked the boy with a smile. It was a way to reaffirm his position on her shoulder and not drop him. Sure, she still felt that nagging feeling from her old life, but for now she needed to focus on the task at hand..
