Fantasy The Dark World (rp)

Scarlett O'Hare

Scarlett had fallen, and not of her own choice. The "Rose" girl had used her power on her. "Damnit." She cursed as she pushed herself onto her shaky feet. Her legs still getting their connection to her brain back. It was like trying to move lead. Scarlett watched as Snow came running over, screaming at the group. The girl had seemed so timid, where did she find that kind of strength? Scarlett took up a fighting stance and drew a line in the dirt. She couldn't be outdone by the weakest person here. "None cross." She spoke as if that was the final say in things, despite how much like Jell-O her body felt. She would be a wall protecting those behind her, she was a guard dog. And that was at least better than a mutt.

Ryuji Nakamoto

Ryuji had been watching everyone's reactions to having camp. Kore ran into a tree, he'd talk with her later, but for right now a massive fight was about to break out and it was entirely women. "Can't let the flower garden be destroyed because of a snake." He slowly made his way between the four girls, putting his back towards Snow and Scarlett. "Snow, don't look this way." He spoke over his shoulder as he grabbed the mask and slipped it on.

Before when Ryuji put on the mask, it was just him getting serious. Now, Ryuji was demonic. His eyes had completely turned into a blood red as a sort of "aura" surrounded him. Now there really wasn't anything there, but anyone who looked at Ryuji would feel pure killing intent oozing from every thing about him. His stance, defensive and prepared to take down anyone that moved towards him without permission. His eyes, moving between each person as if they were all his enemies. His foreign training leaving very limited openings on him. "A majority of us decided not to kill him. If the boy wants to run his mouth, let him. We're all adults here and adults should know to let words roll off their skin like water." Ryuji's voice was heavy, not even a hint of playfulness.

How long had it been since Ryuji heard his voice like this? Definitely before he met Hifumi. Damn her influence. He cursed as he took a deep breath, not wanting to move. "Snow is my responsibility until we get to the next town and the boy is hers, which in turn makes him mine. So anybody wants to try and lay a finger on the kids behind me and they'll wind up meeting their God sooner than expected."

Lucca Malkovich
Location: Forest

Being slapped in the face, Lucca was about to bark back like a mad dog, but when Vira started speaking about how he's basically profiling, Lucca simply gritted his teeth and took it. He realized that perhaps it was wrong of him to simply assume that someone was in a gang, he should have known better. The rage had gotten to his head. No, that's just an excuse, the truth is, he did it out of spite, and having been called out, he felt shame for his actions. However, being told that he was a part of the problem, when she's the one acting like a thug, that's the last straw.

"I'm the problem!? You-" but before he could get his message across, he was suddenly lift off the ground, no, it was Scarlett that had lifted off the ground, leaping backwards and had created a distance between her and the violent lady. Carefully, Scarlett sets Lucca down, and from her stance, Lucca knew it was going to end up as a fight, a physical fight rather than one with words. He can't have that, not on his behalf.

"Scarlett, stop! Don't-" once again, he was cut off before he could finish speaking, this time it was by the lady with pink puffy hair, and she had stopped Scarlett easily with her power of paralysis.

Once more, Lucca has been grabbed by his collar, and defenselessly, his body dangled like the mass of paralyzed flesh it is. She looked him in the eyes, and she yelled about things, things about her family, she yelled about WG being the " biggest ugliest fucking human gang in existence", she yelled about many things, things too much for Lucca to absorb at once, but he indeed heard them. And once done with what she had to say, "pink puffy hair" tossed him over towards the river, apparently wanting him to look at his own reflection.

The things happening around him, it became a blur after that. Lucca was lost, lost in his own thoughts. All along, everything he did, was it just to pretend that he had a purpose? Those kids, no, not just the kids, all those people the brought in, were they merely sacrifice to his ego?

"Then... what was I doing this whole time...?" he whispered beneath his breath, in a voice so soft that even the one right next to him may not hear it. "Am I playing the fool? All those people... did I kill them?"

Patrick nodded as Snow claimed to be alright, he was lucky she had been there, if not for her grip tightening when it did he might have lost his temper and broke up this little group before it even got started.

Just then Kore declared they would be stopping for the night and Patrick looked up to see Keiji and possibly the worst person he could have been with. "Oh that boy is in for it" Patrick thought as he took a step forward only to be stopped again by Snow as she leaned against him.

He was just about to ask what was wrong when again he was stopped by the sound of Scarlett yelling, he spun just in time to see Scarlett collapse and the hunter go flying, instantly the anger he had felt before came roaring back.

He dropped his pack next to Keiji, kid make a protector and hide, he said in a commanding tone, he could chastise Keiji later now it was time to discipline the other children. He grabbed Scarlett's spear from his pack and looked back towards the group, Snow was covering the hunter, while Scarlett, who thankfully seemed completely fine now thank God, and the fox kid were squaring off with the prissy rich girl and the bad influence. It was obvious witch side Patrick was going to take.

Things are about to get real messy, he told Keiji before standing and walking slowly and calmly to stand between the fox kid and Scarlett.

He handed Scarlett her spear before slipping both hands into his pockets and coming out with brass knuckles which he promptly fit over his hands. Never taking his to calm eye's off of the two girls watching very closely for any signs of movement. The fox kid spoke up threatening the girls to stay back to which Patrick added, I don't particularly like the hunter, but you messed with the wrong girl.

He slid his military cap off his head and shrugged out of his coat revealing a body that could only come from decades of training, and a little help from a computer stuck in the back of his head, then he spoke up again this time in that strange monotone voice he had earlier and if either of you move so much as step from there you'll find out exactly what it's like to swallow your teeth.

The area chosen for camp has been established, with each member doing their own thing as the night encroached. Picking a spot beneath a decently sized tree a little ways away, Sera sat against it, rummaging through her pack. It was getting late and it was more or less dinnertime. She took inventory: a few cans of dried vegatables, a can of "meat," bags of some sort of jerky, and two partially filled water bottles. It was certainly nothing compared to what she used to have, but it was edible food. Her sources were more or less reliable --- if a person dies eating food from you, who's willing to buy anything from you? Regardless, she silently wished she borrowed a few more rations. Sera didn't require much but she preferred to maintain her energy. Recently however, she had been very generous with what she had. Maybe it'd be good idea to ask Kore if any plants were edible... actually on second thought, that'd be the worst thing she could ask. Shaking her head, she prepared a few of the food to eat. Just as she was about to munch on a jerky, she suddenly thought about the others. Children. Jackson. And, despite the history, that dark-haired woman still needs to eat.

Stuffing the jerky back into the bag and her backpack, she slowly got up from her comfortable position. 'Well, it's been somewhat peaceful on the way... maybe it'll stay that way for the night,' Sera thought to herself as she made her way back to where she overhears some voices. '...who am I kidding.'

The voices grew steadily louder until she clearly heard shouting from a voice she believed was the dark-haired voice. 'Here we go again...' Sera didn't slow down, until she heard a voice that she nearly didn't recognize screaming at the top of her lungs. Recovering herself, Sera broke into a sprint, crushing twigs and dead leaves underneath her feet.

Underneath the evening Sun, the forest had turned into a warm yellowish hue. The water reflecting the redness of blood, setting a serious atmosphere. There she was. Snow was covered in more blood and thorns. Ryuji radiated a deadly aura.

Sera had it. The composition in this group was not good. It was too divided. Everyone had their own ideals and were not willing to compromise. This is it.

"....Would you.... just WOULD YOU LOOK AT YOURSELVES!" Sera could barely contain herself, her eyes were wide open, glaring at everyone. "JUST FOR ONE NIGHT IS ALL I ASK. JUST ONE WHERE WE CAN SIT BACK AND RELAX. WE ALREADY DESTROYED AN INNOCENT MAN'S LIFE, MUST YOU DO SO WITH EACH OTHER NOW? WHY RESORT TO VIOLENCE SO QUICKLY? PEOPLE LIKE YOU--" Sera cut herself off before she adds more fuel to the fire. Taking a deep breath, she continues. "Whether you like it or not, the man lives. Everyone has their beliefs. Everyone acts upon them. What makes you better than him if you murder him right here?"

Vira

Vira hardly cared to pay the little girl with the super-strength abnormality any heed. Her voice was weak. Her tone was weak. Her resolve was weak. Nothing there factored in to the darkhaired chick, and yet, her power still kept the small girl pinging on her 'radar' -just in case. She hardly even had noticed that she was the one carrying the Hunter she was busy speaking to and clutching. Stepping back, another woman with vibrant pink hair sauntered over. Time for her to convey her two cents, huh? Boy this was just a rogue's gallery wasn't it? Vira had an arched eyebrow watching the scene carefully... sorta. Her power gave off a red flag to not 'pay much attention'. It was a cryptic feeling, and one that was at odds with how Vira normally was. She was actually quite perceptive when it came to her dangers. So oddly, her power was telling her to not be perceptive this time. How strange.

The confusing inquiry within her own mind was answered momentarily, when the woman's power set the small girl into a paralyzed state, laying her out instantly. That explained the Hunter's frigid state, too. Ah. Now it made sense! Don't lock eyes with this woman. Good to know. She went on a tirade towards the Hunter -quite the tirade, in fact! She relayed information that was pretty crucial to who she was, it seemed. Not wise, but it seemed to get the point across. At least to Vira it did. So. This lady had run ins with Hunters, huh? Family taken. For no reason. Given to the WG, to never be heard from again. Stories upon stories that Vira had heard time and time again. It was sad.. Really it was. 'Awww,' came a coo from inside her, a little pale-blonde girl clutching her hands together and tilting her head to the side cutely. 'Yah yah... whatever...'

'You do care~!'

'No I don't, shut up.'

'Teehee~!'

The woman's final-ish words brought a grin to Vira's face. Huh, yeah. Yeah it was exactly like the WG was a gang of horrible humans! The worst humans to exist, wasn't it? Humans turned monsters. Worse than.. s-some Abnorms. Obviously not all. A strange flash of a dark, tall man darkened her mind, scaring away Ellie for the moment. The woman's words pulled her back to the world in front of her. Vira laughed lightly, "Haha!" to the side, enjoying another 'helping' in the endeavor to bitch out this Hunter. Calling him literally a pathetic monster, that used his crusade as a justification for his own worthless, pitiful existence was like candy for her ears. "AH~hahahaha!! I like your style! I couldn'tve said it better myself! Good going 'Medusa'!" She sniffled, gathering herself, eyeing the Hunter with a smug smile plastered on her face. The woman's words aughta shut him up.

Another girl stepped up this time. Yep, rogue's gallery for sure. She began to bitch, moan, and whine. All Vira wanted to do was sigh and roll her eyes. "Naive brat," she spat at the white-haired girl, flinging herself to protect the Hunter. It was clear by the way Vira felt a danger from this girl, that she had a powerful abnormality, that she didn't even need to witness to know it was there. And yet.. she was defending a Hunter of all things. "You know, that boy there would turn you in as soon as he was able, right? Free him, and see what he does to a silly Abnorm like yourself. You're the easiest of pickings. Free cash." Tilting her head condescendingly, Vira drove in home her point. "Who wouldn't turn you in? You're so easily manipulated. You're so pathetic. You're an Abnorm. You sympathize with him. You put yourself in harm's way for him. He looks at you, girl, and sees a stuffed pork roast sitting on the table in front of him! A King's feast! And with your abnormality... possibly he could earn such a thing!" Just to make sure, she sought answers using her intuition, her power, and what was going on in front of her.

The thorns were visible, drawing blood. Clearly her abnormality at work. Vira's 'danger radar' was sparking the worst of all these people, looking directly at Snow. If she self-injured herself... then that meant her abnormality had to do that, and that that wasn't it. It meant her power was exceptionally dangerous, yet seemed to be harder to discern. Vira glanced the Hunter's way, feeling an unusual tug there when she focused. His.. 'strength', so to speak, was higher than she had felt on him when they had met before. 'His will taken'. It seemed.. it seemed like the two were connected in a way -probably why Snow was fighting so hard for him right now. Well that, and she was stupid. Vira furrowed her eyebrow in the next second. She didn't really get Snow's power, but could tell it was something strong, dangerous, and mysterious. "Who wouldn't seek out such a payday? Heh, if I was a Hunter, I certainly would! Why not? You're an easy target! Easy prey."

Vira stopped and connected her eyes to Snow's. Rustic gaze met reddish gaze. "I have never been a hero," she calmly spoke. It was the calmest thing she had said in the presence of these people. 'But you could be,' a gentle voice echoed in her head. A follow up statement that Vira stubbornly ignored so quickly, that Ellie did not even manifest in her mind.

Lucas, the Hunter's name was Lucas. Fine. She knew it now. Wait.. he was an Abnorm, too? That was.. interesting. A hunter who was an Abnorm... She growled out in frustration, clenching her fists were she stood. "Is that so? A Hunter and an Abnorm -in one?! How does it feel, Lucas, to betray your own kind?!"

Okay, the rogue's gallery was getting comical now. Super-strength girl, and Flirt-man himself. She was allowed to bask in his greatness!! "Boy, don't I feel so honored," she mumbled sarcastically towards Ryuji who stood in the way. Vira could feel the intent to harm (kill) coming off the man. It was a physical feeling, sparking in her body thanks to her abnormality. She really paid it no heed, though. The man truly did not frighten her. He was the most transparent one here. She could read him like a book. Which meant he was affected by her power nearly 10 fold. A flirt and a killer. He had no other dimensions. What a lovely individual he was. His intent to kill was so easily read, Vira knew he'd never touch her in a fight. Hell, he was almost non-threatening because of it, but her power still worked on him, simply because he made himself out to be a threat. Anyway, she wasn't going to move on the male or the female. She had choice words left for the Hunter, pissed to all hell at herself for even suggesting he could live before -because he was a 'decent person'. The female? Well, Vira had already said her peace. With a final look of disgust, she turned from Snow and the Hunter she desperately clung to for whatever reason, despite being an Abnorm.

Another stepped up. Again. Rogue's gallery. How many times would she have to repeat it? Glancing his way. He was an older gentleman. With a body made from countless hours of training. Military training, if she could guess. Honestly, she took her eyes off him, averting her gaze out towards the river. The big man there reminded her of the big man... back then. Not quite the same, but eh, similar. "Ugh, whatever," Vira grunted through bared teeth, figuratively putting her hands in her pockets, and turning around to walk away and 'lick her wounds'. He also sparked her power, and in truth... she didn't bet she could take on all these people. Hitting Vira? -HA! Imposs-... er -next to impossible! But with so many enemies at once? Trained ones. Skilled ones? It was dangerous. Very dangerous. In fact, it was the most danger she had found herself in a long long time. Her power was like a bowling ball inside her head. Smashing around. Or maybe... maybe that was a pinball??

Anyway, she had a massive headache. Good god did it hurt.

ANOTHER rogue appeared, dear lord, they were like cockroaches! Sera. Vira remembered. Though she did not care to hear what the small girl had to say, the way she shouted it... made it pretty hard to not pick up a couple things. What Vira caught was that bit about ruining Vince's place. His life. Deep down, Vira felt bad. Felt sour. She figuratively buried her hands deeper into her 'pockets', shoulders slumped. 'Aw.. Vira...'

'Shut it, for the last time, shut it~!'

She had thrown the bag of money she had taken from Yahn, apparently Scarlett, and that gang. Hopefully Vince had found it and not some drunken thug. He needed it, even if it wasn't much. Another debt she owed, regardless. "I never claimed to be better than anyone."

'You cou-'

'Gr, I said...'

Presence of her sister was gone. Vira turned, and moved away.

Sensations, they seemed all but lost. Drifting in an empty blank void of reality, and what seemed to be the lack there of. How long had it been like this, unkempt thoughts; unbridled by a body, which was no where to be found. intentions useless without a mechanism with which to act them out. the descriptive 'lonely' could never describe as to what this state of being felt like, the sense of self was gone, the sense of reality... but a dream. Funny; things seemed to always end up this way, he would get in over his head. Head towards danger for another, even if he had no relations with them, or connection. Body reacting solely on its own will, throwing itself in front of danger to protect another. And the outcome, overexerting and nearly killing himself. And for what, to be forgotten in god knows where. Hidden beneath the roots of a tree, and wrapped warmly in a thick bundle of moss.

Idle thoughts, lost in memory's that were to distant to remember clearly. A small form of a body, curled soundly against the raw earth. old roots cracked and withered from age, branching over the petite body. soft skin bracing against a layer of moss, that seemed to wrap itself around the young body, shallow breathing accompanied by soft whimpering, and body twitches every now and then. a soft glow came from the form's center, shining brighter with each beat of the body's heart, thumping against the small of the body's breast. Wide hips pressing firmly against the base of the tree, accompanied with a slim yet athletic body. overall Einua had a feminine form, his visage jaw droppingly feminine, with soft pouty lips tinged pink. Freckles dotting the boys face, running along his shoulders and arms. The clothes adorning his body were heavily stained, the dirt along with the constant dew caused his entire attire to be tinged a soft green. as well as brown in some area's. Although, not necessarily anything to worry about in einua's current situation~

((cant really add anything else except for more detail. so ill keep it at that, hes at, or rather in the forest with you guys. hes glowing brightly enought to be seen. and yes he looks like a chick, its ok if your characters are a bit confused about that, itll be a bit comedic i guess.))

((forgot toadd, Einua is in a coma))

Keiji looked at the woman. He was glad he hadn't lost his temper. She however did quite awhile ago. He might lose his temper, too, but not yet. Suddenly, she turned away from him and pulled out a knife. He already said he wouldn't bother her, so only followed her back to the river. There, it was apparent what it was that bothered her, not that minded it. After all, it was the original group. He was only there for a few moments before a fight already broke out, starting with throwing some guy close to the river that previously carried a corpse away. Wait, who even is that guy? Why and how did he manage to become a part of the group? He already forgot about the hunter. Within a minute later, Patrick came up to him and ordered him to make himself a protector and hide. Oh yea, he forgot that Patrick was going to be mad with him. For now he had to listen to his guardian.

Keiji nodded and pulled out his book. He flipped to the section where his creatures for fighting were and pulled a sheet. The young boy then spit on the page and summoned his protector. This one was more humanoid in stature, around 10 feet tall and bulky. It had large daggers for hands, and despite its size, it was surprisingly fast on its feet. Keiji named it Bruno. He looked up at Bruno, and give him an objective. "You are to follow me, and make sure I am not attacked. You will be my protector." Bruno replied with a deep rumble, and they both set off. It wasn't long before they found something, or rather, someone. "Bruno, we're stopping here." The beast rumbled again and stood behind Keiji.

Keiji stepped up to the odd figure, who's chest glowed in a way in which a heart would beat. He crouched in front of the girl and looked at her in curiousity. "How'd you get here?" He realized then that he was supposed to hide and he hadn't really hidden yet. He could still hear the yelling. He turned and faced Bruno. "I want you to remember the way to go in order to go back to the same spot by the river. But we're not going back yet." Bruno rumbled deeply again and then began watching the area for possible threats. Keiji looked back to the strange person in front of him. "Who are you, anyway?" He tilted his head to the side.

As Jess finally reached a stream, she calmed herself slightly. There was enough room between her and the forestry here, only the grass would suffer her presence. This kind of place had been the only possible abode for her since her escape years ago. For some time she strolled by the water, the top slightly freezing over as she passed. She was thrown off-guard however as it began to run red, a limp body following the pattern before stiffening. Jess let out a thought filled "Hmm." As she watched it. Death had become second nature to her, her mind numbed to it's presence. Jess pondered the body for a short moment, perhaps the act of a wild beast? That could prove troublesome to her, if she planned to spend a few months here, defending herself could ruin the balance, as if it wasn't already bad enough after the war. She still wouldn't need to eat for a few more days, her low metabolism helping with that. On closer examination however, it seemed this was the work of a man. Possibly where the local gang did some of their 'dirty work'.

Her attention was quickly cut off by the distant shouting. "Woman, rather." She corrected herself internally. It seemed the only one wise enough to leave the gathering from the town, couldn't escape it, perhaps that was her own fault for being so abrupt in the bar earlier. As Jess grew closer, the constant yelling and screaming of the group became clearer, though she knew better than to get any closer. Still somewhat tired from the trek, and combined with the distraction from the noise, she pulled her hands from her pockets, and without thought attempted to support herself with one of them on a nearby tree as she rested. "Shit." She whispered in a slight bit of self-loathing rage, a thick ice quickly climbing the tree, causing it's entirety to be frozen solid. Stumbling away in a huff, she took a seat far from any more life, deciding to listen in.

Her interest was especially piqued as the familiar voice began to rant about the WG, Jess thought about it for a moment. "Maybe she could... No." Jess quickly contradicted her thought. Even if a couple of these bandits did have a hatred for the WG, there was no way she could trust them to help her, and no way they would do the same. That was why the WG was so powerful, their brainless citizens trusted in them without question, it wasn't their fault, they had been practically brainwashed for their entire lives.

Jess couldn't help but giggle as another starting going off, going on about how their apparent prisoner was weak and defenseless. If that was the case, he wouldn't be alive, the world wasn't so kind, not here. It got even better as the other feminine voice piped up though. Sit back and relax? Innocent? Neither of those statements existed in this wasteland. There was never an opportunity to relax, no one was innocent, trusting strangers at random was a surefire way to get yourself killed, either by them, or by the bounty hunter they hand your sorry ass in for, all for a few coins. "I give them a month." She smirked slightly. It truly puzzled her, where had they come from to have such outlooks on life here?

Regardless, this would provide enough entertainment to last her the night, it was far better than the usual lonely days. That was what she thought, until she was suddenly caught of-guard by a massive creature, it's head sticking above the branches. Sure, it wasn't close to her, walking away toward a strange light, but that wasn't the point. Through the thin brambles she could spot a foolish child leading it. "Never mind. they won't last the night." She corrected herself. At least their screaming and abusive use of whatever powers they had would distract any eager hunters away from her position, they were likely already tipped off that the group had ventured here. As long as she remained out of sight, there was no way they would take her again.

Jackson had found himself a nice tree to lean against for the night as he took stock of his supplies. He had a few rations, some spirits, and some water enough to last him for a short time. He made a mental note of that as he reached up to remove his mask when all of a sudden, he heard shouting. Moving his hands away from the mask, he looked and observed the ever increasing situation. Vira had returned for whatever reason and was arguing with Lucas about bounty hunters, the WG, and abnorms. Of course it turned into a shouting match at the end that drew in Snow, Patrick, Rose, Ryuji and finally Sera as they argued and argued and shouted with Sera trying to end it. However, Jackson decided that it just wasn't going to help if another person got involved. However, the big bombshell was that Lucas was an abnorm in addition to a bounty hunter. Did he not realize what he was? In any case, Jackson decided that he would just shut up and at least try to speak to both Vira and Rose seprately. What Rose said about her parents being taken away from her because they had abilities was saddening. Plus, Vira needed to be spoken to in order to figure out why she was the way she was.

((@pug life, seeing that Einua is in a coma....idk how to respond, but ill do my best))

The gentle visage of the boy laying in a tomb of moss was unchanging as he was greeted by a stranger, eyes stuck closed tight, iris flitting behind the freckled eyelids, every which where as if in a deep dream. The glowing emanating from Einua's chest seemed to be growing brighter, and at this point it was as bright as a flashlight; during the darkest hour of night. The light flitted out of the roots, bracing against the back drop of the forest, and canopy of leaves. Pink and silky, the light almost looked like a fluffy cloud, wrapping around everything and flushing against it. Oddly enough, as it braced against the tree's and against the wild life of the forest. everything seemed to calm, the presence of the light was rigid and dense, like a heavy hand that lay against the backs of any who it touched, some small animals; including animals the size of squirrels just ran. Seemingly threatened by the presence of the light. The tree's seemed to moan and whine, their branches swaying slowly, albeit gently. And as the seconds passed by it only got more vivid and bright, blinking out as it reached a brightness compared to strong floodlights meant for huge football fields, the ones for fancy colleges~! yeah you know the ones.

As the light vanished, as did the oppressing weight that had come with it. And now Einua looked rather normal, nary still rather feminine and a bit confusing to look at. Long curly hair Matted and splayed against the roots of the tree, silky to the touch, and wet with dew. Einua's head flicked left and right now, random muscles twitching and firing of at random. The boy seemed to be in a nightmare at this point, Loud whimpering coming from the low cavity of his chest. Insistent and trembling with fear, yet silent and barely noticeable. "B....Bia" A word escaped his lips, plush lips pursing slowly as the sound flitted from them. The weight from it seemed to shake the very air around Einua. And with this, Einua finally moved. Shifting in his spot, and turning his frame to the side, hip now pressing firmly against the crest of dirt underneath him. Although after this, einua's form no longer moved, beside the shallow movements coming from his breast. this was simply his breathing, which seemed labored and rough. Fluttering eyes, resting as they ceased their movements. twitching muscles calming as the drew against the center of einua's form, as if cold he started shivering. His body now instinctively curling in on itself to protect what little warmth he had left.

((he is still in.... a deep sleep state, cant write or do much else with that. but hey cool lights, right.))

Kore Dair
Kore had tried clamping her hands over her ears, tightening the wood around her, anything and everything to shut out these angry people. But nothing worked, they seemed to get louder and louder. And one of the others seemed to reveal their power - some uncomfortable light that leaked through the tiny gaps between her otherwise sealed cocoon, her friends, the trees, didn't like it either. She was too unstable to ask them (the trees) whom it was who had become so angry that they had revealed their power - there were a few in the group who had yet to reveal their abilities, if they even had them. Kore was convinced they did.
But not even this heavy light moved her from her ball, she just squeezed her eyes and rode it out.
It was odd, then, that the thing that brought her out of her interrupted sanctuary, was a whisper. A whisper that seemed to only be heard by the grass he lay upon. It was Lucas' quiet, defeated mutter that made her back straighten, made the branches expand around her silently. It had been uttered before the cumbersome light, but she waited until that had passed before she moved.
She got up to a sitting position, and was lowered slowly to the ground, where she stood - her expression sad yet calm. She was unaffected by the aggression and hate that seemed to blossom amongst the others.
Then, Kore did something even more odd. She unzipped her coat, dropping it to the floor, and pulled off the jumper underneath - now she was only wearing her trousers, belt, and a very ripped shirt - which was ripped into a crop top - revealing the horror underneath, an ugly mass of destroyed skin and tissue.
All of the skin that showed on her body was covered in a mass of scars. Barely any unblemished skin remained, giving a reason for her hiding as much skin as possible, not even her hands were spared. The scars came in all shapes sizes and colours. Many were a faded dark red, deep and thin, many were an ashen white, and thick, some were even purple or grey. Her skimpy ripped top left nothing much to the imagination, her arms, stomach, upper chest and shoulders were all on show, all covered in scars. The scarring only petered off just under her Adam's apple and at her wrists (although there were some scars on her hands, such as the one on her thumb, and a deep one on her palm), the rest of her was horrifying to look at.
"Everyone please just calm down.", she said quietly, softly - yet her voice carried - and seemed to reverberate across the whole clearing and river. The ground itself seemed to shiver as she spoke, the trees shook. Because in that calm voice, was power.

"Lucas is indeed an abnorm, just like the rest of us.", she continued calmly. She had been listening closely, especially to Lucas, and what he had told Scarlett had confirmed her suspicions. "His power just works too well for even him to know it.", she smiled sadly, looking at him.
"And he has already realised his mistake - although he said it much to quietly for anyone to hear it.", she walked towards him slowly, nonthreateningly. She ignored everyone else, hopefully the vision of her ruined body would be enough to still their tongues - because she had very obviously endured tortures, for a long time.
She knelt down a little way away from him, making sure she was directly in sight for him.
"Yes, Lucas, you killed some of them. But others - you condemned them to a life worse than death.", she gestured at herself, a bitter smile on her face, "There are many things worse than death, trust me. And you will have to live with that. Just as I have lived with every death on my hands.", her bitterness turned sad, years of pain, death and suffering on her face.
"My scars, they still hurt. I will never be free from the pain. So I got used to it, I bear it. As you will have to do for those who suffered because of you.", she paused for a moment, solemn.
"You said that you never left an impression, that no one remembered to hire you. I had my suspicions.... But Snow's sure that you're an abnorm, and from what you've said - I have an idea what your power is.", she looked up at the sky and smiled softly.
"You knew my feelings towards you - to me you were a threat, you still are, honestly.", a smirk flitted across her face.
"But the funniest thing happened. Despite my strong feelings, I managed to forget you somehow. At first, I was angry with myself, but then I realised, after Scarlett dropped you, that it wasn't just me.", she looked down at him.
"You have the unconscious ability to be forgotten. It has probably been with you all your life, slowly making everyone around you forget you even existed.", she stood up, the smile gone from her face.
"I'll let you mull that over, but I'd imagine it will make a lot of sense. If you have any questions, think carefully before you ask them.", she returned to her clothes on the floor, and hurriedly put them on again, self-conscious that so many people had seen her scars - that so many angry people had seen her scars.

Finally, she looked at the rest of the group. "So,", she sighed tiredly, "Are you all about done here? If so, someone can help me make a fire, dinner, and somewhere nice to sleep.", she sat down at the base of the tree she had hid in, pulling her knees up to her chest and hugging them, a forlorn look on her face.

After witnessing Kore's graceful descent, Sera took a step back and recomposed herself. Whether what she said mattered or not, Kore drove in the nail. Looking around, she saw everyone in the confrontation, and sighed. Jackson wasn't here, and Sera thought that that was a smart choice. It really wasn't her place to be saying all of what she had said, but she couldn't hold it back; she didn't want to.

Revealing a disturbing sight, Kore unveiled her horribly scarred body. Nearly every part had been discolored as scars covered her torso and more. Seeing that made Sera understand more clearly, and sparked something inside her. Kore never onced raised her voice, yet she carried herself confidently. Not giving room for further argument, Sera walked right past everyone, kneeled down on flat piece of ground and began placing on the ground the food in her pack. Wordlessly, she designated an area for the fire, and threw in pieces of dried grass and sticks before heading deeper in the forest for more firewood. Suddenly stopping next to a tree, she looked over her shoulders, "Are you guys going to sleep in the cold and on an empty stomach or what?"

Vira

Vira sensed another nearby. Pausing she searched the area, but didn't immediately see the person (should she?). She had felt this presence before, back at the bar. It wasn't a particularly scary feeling on her 'radar', and they hadn't appeared to be a threat thus far. Probably just someone stalking the group just beyond... Probably being careful themselves. But they probably were also an Abnorm, hence why Vira could feel their 'danger' without knowing they were there. Though, it was very very odd for suddenly so many Abnorms to be around, it wasn't really the darkhaired girl's business to pry into others's lives or business. If the odd one wanted to drift on the sidelines, that was totally up to her. (If you couldn't tell, talking about Randomfella Randomfella 's charrie here)

Drawing away, she paused beside the river. A light seemed to permeate through the leaves and trees, casting a pretty prominent image of her on the reflective water. She looked up towards it for a moment, before it finally dissipated. Huh, unusual... This forest sucked, Vira decided! The quicker she was out of it, the better! Looking over her shoulder, back at the people, she was just in time to spot Kore, lowered to the ground by her branches. Vira didn't need her power to be pissed at such a sight. An Abnorm with such control over such a prominent power was a threat. A big one. She would definitely have to be wary of Kore. The amount of effort Vira would have to throw her way just so she wouldn't take a random vine-cut, or branch-hit, or a thorny-spine thrown her way, was much more effort than any of the others. It was exhausting.

Then Kore stepped into the light, and Vira saw her body. She turned just a bit to get a better look. Her rustic eyes wandered over every mark, every scar, every discolored feature. It was grotesque. She was practically a monster in form, not just in passing name at being referred to by the simple monstrous term 'Abnorm'. It made for a disturbing, sobering sight. Vira hated it. It made her skin crawl. And more than once that day, she was reminded of herself, her past, The Devil, and the time spent in his gang. Vira turned away. 'Say something,' Ellie's voice came to her, echoing in a hollow void.

Vira did not, though she was happy Kore showed her disgusting body to them all. That would be a slap to the Hunter's face worse than her own. Indeed he had 'murdered' Abnorms by turning them in. Whether or not they were guilty of the crimes he claimed was irrelevant. He still turned them in.. to be.. subjected... to that. Yes, she was right. There were fates worse than death. The idiot had condemned Abnorms to that. Let him choke on his remorse. On another note, she elaborated on what his abnormality was. That caught her attention, even if she was no longer looking over. It was interesting; according to the plant girl, he simply made others forget about him. Yet, Vira did not.. ever. Why? Her power blinked in the back of her mind. Ahhhh, that was why. He posed a threat. --A bigger one, too, if she were to 'forget' him. No wonder she didn't.

Vira heard the call for food, rest, and 'being cold'(?) had Sera ever lived out here?! It wasn't fucking cold! The idiot nurse. It was hot as an oven, sweltering, boiling. On some days Vira took her top off it was so damn hot. It was one of the reasons she dressed light, and traveled light. Anyway... keeping her mouth shut, finally, Vira moved off, crunching underbrush under her feet, while she walked passed a bush and beyond.

Rose Valencia

Rose had said her piece, but it seemed that everyone had taken her words and actions as her wanting to kill "Lucas." That wasn't the case. She just wanted to lift the veil that was covering his eyes from the truth. She rolled her eyes as they all started making threats and exploding all the way to Kore coming down from her damn tree and showing off her mutilated flesh to the group. "Idiot." She muttered, not caring about the flesh wounds, before she slowly made her way back to the man with amnesia. It was likely that they'd all ignore her actions. If anyone here was weak or defenseless it was this lug. "How you holding up?" She asked before sitting down beside him and sliding off her pack. Her eyes darted around before she reached in an pulled out a bottle of whiskey and a some rags. "I'm not as proficient as rainbow hair, but if you'll let me. I'd like to at least TRY and treat it." Rose's "weakness" as far as her family was concerned was the fact that she hated leaving the defenseless alone.

Slowly removing the old rags Rose looked at the wound. It was bad still and the coloration left her worried. "188 proof should do the trick." She smiled as she popped the top off the bottle and poured some of it over the wound. It was all she could do to try and disinfect it. "My dad would kill me if he knew I took his good booze as a source of medicine." She sighed as she took the clean rags and reapplied them to his side as best she could. "So, remember much of anything?" she asked inquisitively while watching everyone finally starting to settle down. Rose was tired though. She wanted to just close her eyes and drift off to sleep. Without even realizing it, she found herself leaning against Zephyr's shoulder, her petite frame easily supported by his.

Scarlett O'Hare

All the yelling. It was intense and it was terrifying. Scarlett didn't know how to react until she felt the familiar metal in her hand. Her spear-axe! Ignited with the knowledge of having her weapon she doubled up on her stance, suddenly looking more like a trained fighter than just moments ago. "Stay back!" She barked as everyone continued screaming, she even pointed her spear at Kore as she came down from the tree. The scars on her were unimaginable. The amount of pain that she must've endured resonated within Scarlett. She may not have withstood the same, but she knew what it was like. "Sister in Pain." That was how Scarlett chose to identify Kore. They were sisters, born in pain and surviving through force of will. Even when Scarlett had felt like a mutt, she always willed herself to live. It was simple, life was a bitch, but she had a life. That was the key. After everyone seemed to calm down, Scarlett collapsed onto the shore, her calorie intake had been so low the last few days that she'd gone overboard with her ability. "Can't move." She muttered as her fingers clung to her weapon.

Ryuji Nakamoto

Ryuji took a deep breath as everyone started to calm down. He felt like his head was some kid's musical instrument the way his blood was pumping. That mentality was something he didn't like to use, not since.....well, her. Slowly removing the mask as Vira walked away and Kore came down, he turned to see her. The scars, the pain and anguish that had tormented her. They were a sight to behold, but unlike the others who looked away in disgust, Ryuji questioned and felt empathy. He looked at them as beautiful marks of a life hard fought, not as something to be hidden behind clothing and pride. If not for his power, his skin would probably look the same. Training to survive torture, being nearly drowned, having his bones broken time and again, all to see how far his healing could be pushed. The memories filled his consciousness to the point that he had forgotten to breathe. Taking a big gulp of air, Ryuji looked to Patrick. "Can you look over these three?" He motioned to the three youngsters collapsed on the bank. "I think that our guide could use some emotional support." Whispering the last part to Patrick, Ryuji place a hand on his shoulder. "And thanks."

Walking over to Kore, Ryuji's eyes weren't drawn to her scars, but back towards her eyes. Without even speaking, Ryuji picked up the girl in his arms. "No complaining, got me?" He spoke to her as his arm nestled under the bend in her knees and his left hand clasped her shoulder firmly. "I hope your friends won't mind me stepping on them a little." Taking a deep breath, Ryuji squat down and leapt up onto the first branch, then to another up until he saw the remnants of the cocoon that she'd made, along with a small opening to look at the night sky. The sun having set somewhere during their shouting match. "You did something brave down there Nightshade." He flirted with her like his usual self before setting her down near the trunk. "Stupid, but brave." Sitting down on the branch, Ryuji stared out at the stars. He'd let her talk to him when she was ready.

Kore Dair
Well, it had worked. The argument, tension and hate that had filled the air like a miasma fizzled out as soon as she entered the scene. She was touched by Scarlett, who had called her a sister in pain, and Sera seemed to busy herself with the chores Kore had intended to do but...
Get up! You have things to do, there's no time to sit and mope. But her limbs were heavy, and she felt like a water soaked log, sinking to the bottom of a lake. Revealing her disfigurement had sapped any energy she had left, and all she wanted to do was curl up in her bed at home. But home was a relatively long way off, and she didn't have the energy or the secrecy to leave.
She was glad to see Rose helping Zephyr - Something you should be doing!! He needs more help and tending to than your stupid, fragile feelings. Just because she looks at you like the freak you are, doesn't mean you get to curl up in a useless miserable ball!
She was cut off abruptly from berating herself, when Ryuji suddenly appeared in her field of vision, making her jump. And then promptly picking her up, making her yelp like a startled and wounded animal.
WHA-?!
To say she was startled would be an understatement. Her self pity was instantly replaced by confusion, embarrassment, annoyance, anger, and... Happiness?!? All this flashed across her surprised face as plain as day - she was much to startled to be able to hide any of it.
When he told her no complaining, her mouth opened and closed as if she were a fish out of water for a few seconds, until she corrected herself and snapped her jaw shut in a defiant position. Kore was very aware that he was topless, and probably the warmest thing she had ever touched since she burnt her hand badly on a pot when she was cooking once. She was trying to ignore the thought that she had never been this close to another living thing, let alone a man. And, she thought begrudgingly, a good looking one at that.
Kore squeaked breathlessly as he leaped up the tree like a cat, impressed by how quickly he moved. She didn't realise that she had instinctively grabbed his shoulders, her nails digging in as she held onto his burning hot skin.
So, she allowed herself to be carried around, her eyes wide and her cheeks coloured with the palest hint of red - the most colour that had been on her cheeks in a long time, the blush unfortunately made her scar more prominent.
Allowing herself to be sat down, she hastily let go of his shoulders, and crossed her arms.
Nightshade...? "You think I'm poisonous...?", her voice was thick with emotions that she had managed to hide so well earlier, and she cleared her throat, and uncrossed her arms to unconsciously rub a particularly nasty looking scar just under her sleeve, deep and shaped like a splaying bolt of lightning across her forearm and wrist.
"Of course it was stupid.", her voice turned bitter, sad and tired, "But it worked. Even if everyone looks at me differently now, it stilled their tongues.", she sighed sadly. Of course they all looked at her differently. She knew from experience that most would think she was a freak, become uncomfortable around her. Some, would pity her, but still whisper behind her mutilated back, still look at her with disgusted eyes, examining her like an animal carcass, when they thought she wasn't looking. As much as she wanted to hide them, she really didn't have the energy to cover the thoughts displayed plainly in her downcast green eyes, looking at her arms. One hand disappeared into the sleeve of the other, as she traced the scar that hummed with a low ebb of pain.

Vira
Tib199u.png

Walking through the forest, her power lead her around seemingly in circles. Right now, she wasn't concerning herself with leaving the forest as quick as possible. Oh no, it didn't even make sense to. Night was quickly falling by now; too much time had been wasted. She had another mission.

'Vira.. go back,' the voice in her head chastised, with the image of Ellie appearing alongside her. It walked next to her, but made no noise, moving along silently.

'Do you ever quit?' She 'spoke' to the light-blonde girl.

'Do you even need to ask?' Ellie replied, tilting her head, Vira's eyes connecting with her sister's light gray ones. 'You're my sister. So of course not. I care about you.'

"Yeah yeah yeah... 'my soul' or something," Vira spoke aloud, sounding exasperated.

'That's right. With that man -'

'You mean The Devil.'

'-ahem, yes. With him, your soul was in jeopardy.'

Suddenly Vira stabbed within a bush; she bloody knew this was coming! "Oh, god, this again!" She groaned, lifting up something. Staring at it, she turned it around in her hand, looking at it carefully.

'Yes, this again,' Ellie said in a more agitated tone, sounding defensive.

'I have no idea where you got this idea, but whatever, I try to respect it..-'

'You mean ignore it.'

'-Whatever you want to call it. But seriously, Ellie. Listen to me. All that 'soul' and 'afterlife' nonsense is .. well it's fucking nonsense! Nothing we do here matters.' Vira explained, turning to 'look' at Ellie standing there watching her.

'I don't believe that. I can't believe that. That's too sad a thought...'

'Wake up Ellie. This is what we got. This is the world we live in.' She spoke the last bit. "This is reality."

The little light-blonde, pale girl shook her head wildly, 'No! I can't.. That's Him speaking! Listen to me Vira! Even if there isn't... isn't something beyond.. The you here. The you now. That's what matters. What you do -it does matter! You can still turn it around..!'

"We're done," Vira gruffly huffed, spinning and slicing down into the brush again, plucking up another thing to scrutinize closely. Ellie 'sighed', looking dejected, standing there staring a moment longer, before vanishing in a haze.

...

Not too long later, Vira marched back into the 'camp' that everyone had 'set' up. Really, she hadn't been gone all that long at all. Shadows closed in on them, with the setting sun. Vira had returned, holding up some pheasants, and a small wild pig, that was malnourished, but it had some meat. Even a malnourished pig had its own pudginess. She walked into the middle of the group, and set the stuff down in the clearing. She also produced some onions and a couple of potatoes.

"Someone mentioned dinner?.." Vira asked out, glancing around. Swallowing, she carried on, hoping to immediately alleviate the fact she had hunted all this so quickly. "Uhm... There was wildlife nearby... didn't take too long to catch! Guess I just got lucky! -Oh come off it!" She snapped, giving a nonchalant, noncommittal shrug; that seemed to be as good a description as any, for how she managed to bring this food in. Of course, for Vira, it was her power that had showed her where things were. The threat of starvation was a real danger, obviously, but she didn't intend to explain that to these strangers.

Looking a tad awkward, she fake-coughed, running a hand through her hair, looking around, but not at anything in particular. "Yeah.. well... I mean.. meat's rare, and not much of it is... is you know -fit for eating. So.. um.. nom it at your own risk. If you get sick by it, don't blame me! And uh.. there was some wild onions and potatoes just..." She pointed vaguely off in a direction, "over th-there, yeah... Okay, cool. Yep."

Leaving the stuff there waiting for anyone to grab at it, Vira turned on her heels and walked back towards a tree, promptly turning. Placing her back at it, she slid down til her butt hit the ground, her skirt all scrunched up carelessly.

Zephyr was really out of it when the pink haired girl approached him, he had the blood playing through his mind over and over again. He knew it was just a nightmare because it made no sense and it was a different voice but, he could not stop thinking about it. His arms were sort of limp at his side and he himself was a bit off color but recovering. He again expected to be left for dead, not that he would die however, he knew he would live. Just something deep inside him told him he would. Maybe he was going crazy.

The pink haired girl walked up to him and sat down with him, he still did not know her name, she acted so odd. "I am not dead so I think that's a plus right?" he says in a confused manner. She probably pitied him, he could feel it, but what was he supposed to do, he was injured and overall a weak person in general. He had no idea how to fight so he seemed pretty screwed when push came to shove. His mood as you can see is sort of dropping as nightfall comes. The goofy person first met is slowly getting more and more tired of all this. She pulled out whiskey and asked if he was okay with it, he did not really answer, just sat there trying to catch his breath. She poured it on and it hurt, a lot. He physically winced in pain and jolted a bit at it but honestly who wouldn't. "Thanks for helping me out, you really don't have to, I know its all a mess" Zephyr says his voice slipping as he spoke. "As hard as it is to believe I only remember what happened after I woke up in a field. Worst part about the whole thing is I can't remember what I look like or who I was. I always heard myths about stuff like this but they all had a personality. I have nothing" Zephyr says in a bit of a sad tone, but he really tried to keep in upbeat as best as he could. "I know you don't believe me, but I can't prove to you that I don't remember anything. It really a big mess, plus now we are thrown into this big mess." Zephyr says moving his hands outwards at the big argument happening in front of him. He was not paying much attention to it because he had drowned out the first half of it when he was dazing off into the sky. As he spoke he noted a change in weight on his one side, she seemed to be leaning on him. He thought she was simply doing it because the tree was uncomfortable. As you can already tell he is a bit clueless but I mean his thoughts were going a mile a minute right now.

"Honestly, I am afraid to find out who I was."

With a bundle of wood held to her chest, Sera walked down to the site of the campfire. In the moment, she had exaggerated the bit about sleeping in the cold. In actuality, it was rather hot... but being outdoors often in the past, Sera had adapted to the heat. Although, sometimes it made her a bit lethargic; coupled with a lack of a meal and she'd have no motivation to even move. The real reason for the campfire wasn't about heat, it was actually a source of light and something to heat the food she had. Although, with the help of Miss Screams-a-lot, more protein was on the menu.

Sera could hardly get a grasp of what went through that woman's mind. The only thing she knew for sure was that she would be the target of numerous insults of whatever the situation is. Leaving the thought aside, she got to work on the fire. It took a few tries, but eventually the small pile of tinder began to smoke and pretty soon a modest flame sprouted from the grass and plant bits. 'Oh, hopefully Kore wouldn't mind to much with me burning this...'

While the fire grew, Sera had set all the food set aside, preparing to roast the fresh kill. The jerky didn't need to be cooked, and the dried stuff could just be eaten immediately. Taking that into consideration, Sera knew there was only one thing to do with it: Scarlett. That little girl was lying on the ground but still held on to that massive spear. Hiding the jerky behind her back as she approached Scarlett, Sera gently called out to her. "Hey... how are doing? I got something for you." Kneeling down beside her, placed the jerky into Scarlett's hand. "Ta-da! Alright, and up we go." Sera hoped the jerky would distract Scarlett so that when Sera lifted her up, she wouldn't instinctively try to strike Sera as she carried her over to the campsite. "Food will be ready soon, okay?"

Returning back to her stockpile, Sera decided to butcher up the meat into many portions so it can go around, if people wanted to eat that is. Taking out a knife, she got to work, starting with the pheasants before tackling on the pig. Sera wasn't really used to butchering "whole" animals, so the work was a bit messy. Blood splattered onto Sera's arms and clothes as she finished the job. "Ahh... that's not good..." She'd have to wash herself and her clothes afterwards; thankfully however, there was a river nearby. Fastening some sticks together to make a sort of makeshift grill, something to hold the smaller pieces of meat above the flame, Sera began to roast the meat, onions and potatoes. The pig meat was simply impaled, rather crudely due to lack of any decently sized sticks, over the fire as well. Sera dearly hoped the food came out good, and if it came down to it, was willing to sacrifice her share if there weren't actually enough to go around. With the cooking situation handled, Sera leaned back, letting the warmth of the fire embrace her skin. Despite the hot air, she always felt a better warmth from a fire -- it reminded her of the pretend camping trips she went on as a little girl with her father. Sweetly reminiscing the memory, Sera idly hummed another tune as she waited for the meat to finish roasting.

Jackson watched as everything that transpired grinded to a screeching halt as Kore took it upon herself to selflessly end the argument by showing the scars of her past it seemed. Of course, Jackson had some scars of his own, and he showed that on his face with a troubled look. That look, however, was safely hidden behind the mask that was a part of him for as long as he could remember. At this point everyone seemed to be getting together and gathering around the campfire to roast a freshly killed animal. From this distance he could not tell what it was that they were roasting, but he felt the flames' warmth all the way to the back of the tree. It called to him like a temptress, but he refused. This felt the same as when he first joined that guild of abnorms all those years ago. ~You can't just slink away into the shadows Jackson.~ He thought to himself. ~How long has it been since you've been with people similar to you, seize this opportunity!~ Jackson pushed off from the tree and walked over to the fire as the view of the fire got closer and closer. Sera was the one manning the fire from the looks of things so he decided that if he wanted to help, she would be the person to ask. Tapping her on the shoulder he spoke, "I, Um, do you need some help?"

Lucca Malkovich
Location: Forest

What are the truths, what are the lies? Lucca has no idea anymore. But with so many here telling him that he was wrong, he has to be, right? Or are they trying to trick him? Lucca doesn't know anymore and he just kept on going in circles in his own thoughts, trapped and lost. It was only when Kore, the one he knew to be the "tree lady" came up to him, and he beheld her scars, her hideous form if one were to say it without sugarcoating, it was only when Kore came up to him was he drawn out of his thoughts, freed him from this trap- no, from his hiding place.

She told him that he had to live with what's he's done, to bear the burden of having brought harm to others. But he doesn't know how, he didn't even know what exactly did he do to those he had brought in... That's exactly it isn't it, even he never really knew what he was doing. He just assumed that he was doing the right thing, turning his eyes away from anything that is inconvenient to the idea.

"I... I don't intend on dying yet... at least." he said to Kore, summoning all of his will to reply to her, to at least show acknowledgement to what was said to him.

He then turned to Snow who was crying. He had felt her tears on him and knew it to be hers, but it just just so much easier to hide in his own thoughts and leave it all in a blur.

"Sorry, Snow, I didn't mean to cause you trouble." he had heard her say that she felt every hit on him, that she shared his pain. It was irresponsible of him to act so rashly when he had the burden of not just himself, but someone else as well.

Speaking of burden, he turned towards Scarlett. They whole time, he relied on her to carry him, and she even protected him despite him being a hunter. And when he saw that she was on the ground, he was worried, worried that she had gotten hurt, that she had gotten hurt on his expense. But then another lady came, one of the nicer ones, and apparently the medic of the group came and gently carried Scarlett away. From the lady's expression, it doesn't seem to be anything to serious.

Lucca allowed himself to let out a sigh. "So much trouble..." and by that me of course meant himself, causing so much trouble because he couldn't shut his mouth. But... he doesn't regret it. What just happened, it gave him perspective, a much needed wake up call. Truth or lies, he needs to find out which is which, he needs to know exactly what he had been doing, one way or another.

Snow
b69359c129098cc62122b03f77e79fc3.jpg

Snow’s eyes had been closed since Ryu had told her to look away… but when everything seemed to calm down and their guides voice rang out calmly her red orbs opened. She watched as Kore came out her hidey hole, finally chiming in. Snow was silent as Kore revealed her scars. Scars were nothing new to her, she had her fair share all over her arms and legs. But Snow would be lying if she said she accepted them without pity. She did feel sorry for Kore, her heart hurt for someone who had to go through any kind of pain.

Snow could not respond as Ryu swept Kore off her feet and carried her away or even as the warrior woman brought food or even as Rose tended to the hurt frail new stranger. Her voice was hoarse, her energy was gone and she was feeling light headed. Not light headed enough to keep away the thoughts of Lucas’s power. To be forgotten… and she had strengthened that. So if she was near him, there was a good chance that she would be forgotten too.

Blood Bond usually gave her protection from or with the power she enhanced. Her eyes were closed as she laid beside Lucas, too tired to eat though she needed iron for her blood loss. Today’s had been the most in her whole history. Her frail form was soaked in it and she knew death was an option still open to her if she didn’t rest. Sure she could bleed for a lot longer then normal people and scabbed over fairly quickly… but she still had limits.

The River… hmmm… Snow sighed as she rolled over with a groan, eyes on the banks. She wanted to soak there. To float and sink into the cool depths and not have to look at any of the people she had screamed at. The warrior woman had called her an easy prize. How surprised she would be at how hard Hunters had been trying to capture her. Snow could have said something… but the Warrior was calm. Kind even in this moment… no Snow was a mumbling mess of useless nerves again. She hardly ever used her power and therefore was weaker for it. Still… her mother had made it clear how dangerous she was. How she was a threat to all. A little girl whose power was to force people to protect her was a tyrant in the making.

Snow would never let that happen. She looked at Lucas and bit her lip as he apologized.

"I-it's o-ok-ay." Her voice croaked out, shaky and unsure. Her usual tone. It had been a couple hours since she had exchanged with him… in a couple more his power boost would began to weaken and in just a little more his will would be back. She needed to talk to him soon… but maybe she could hold off and let the effects fade. She could just ask him not to say anything about her power having a time limit. He wouldn’t even know about the power boost.

With that she sighed and closed her eyes again. Oh god she was going to be sore tomorrow. But the night scared her from sleeping… didn’t Rose say she would come for more information? Maybe she was distracted… maybe she forgot? Likely since of Lucas’s power boost.

The Hunter was confusing. He was bad mouthing one moment and the next… the next he was defending Scarlett, protective of her. Maybe… maybe she was right and he actually would change his loyalty’s. She hoped he would at least be trusted enough soon to be released from his hold by Rose. No way would she ask the woman… but maybe someone else would?

Snow didn’t know. All she did know was how happy she was the fight was over and a truce had settled over them all. She was extremely happy. She was no fighter.

Ryuji Nakamoto

Ryuji had watched all the feelings and emotions she moved through as she clung to him. The thought of seeing her emote so much being a wonderful memory for him. Even the fact that his power had to heal the scratch marks from her fingernails, didn't faze him. Her words did however. "Nightshade isn't only poisonous." He reached up and ran his hand along one of the branches. "It's beautiful, but dark and foreboding. It is strong enough to protect itself, but fragile. There is more to Nightshade than just its poison, just as there's more to you than a pretty face." Ryuji's tone was fairly light hearted as he turned back towards the star. "I'm not going to force you to talk about your scars. Nor should you feel forced to tell me." His ears flicked slightly as he heard the mention of food, but right now his focus was on his conversation partner. "I'm just making sure that you'll be okay. After all, despite how strong you are, you're still a human. And that means, you still need to rely on others from time to time." Ryuji looked to her slowly, his eyes calm for the first time since the bar.

"Know that I'm here and I'll stay up in this tree with you until you feel better." Ryuji looked back over at the fire as it roared to life. The smell of cooking meat flowing freely to his nose while he patted the seat next to him. "Want to just look at the stars for a bit? Take your mind off everything." Ryu looked to the stars and found the pair that he had always found the most interesting, Altair and Vega, Hikoboshi and Orihime. The pair of lovers separated by the entire Milky Way Galaxy. He didn't speak, but focused on the pair of bright stars. He'd heard stories from his grandparents about the festival they would hold in July every year, celebrating the chance for the two lovers to come close together, their one chance every year to be united in their unconditional love. "The stars are truly a god's attempt at romancing mortals." The words left his mouth before he could even think. It was a bit corny, but even there it felt like the right thing to say.

Sera looked at the masked man behind her, who had tapped her shoulder asking if she needed help. The meat was beginning to change to brownish shades by now, and Sera decided to remove the onions and potatoes off the fire now, setting it down on her backpack as there weren't any plates. So far only a few people showed up to the campfire, if it stays like this, everyone else gets to eat food off the dusty ground.

"Nope, I got covered here. Thank you, though. The meat smells delicious doesn't it? Should be done soon. Wanna sit?" Sera patted the ground next to her. "I wonder if anyone else is going to come..."

Sighing, she poked at the pig, gently turning it over to get it evenly cooked. The air was relatively silent, with the river providing a soothing ambiance. It's strange to think that an intense argument transpired not too long ago in this very spot. That was probably how the world is now, all flopped and messed up. Recalling past events that occured today, Sera wondered if she made any good decisions.

The crackling fire was almost hypnotic, coupled with the river, Sera felt the allure of sleep encroach her mind. Leaning her head on one hand, she idly stirred the firewood.

Patrick didn't move from his place as the rest of the group started to disperse to set up camp, what on earth had he been about to do!? A few kids young enough to be his grandchildren start to pick a fight and he just goes right along with it, even going so far as to threaten them! He should be to old and far to experienced to get caught up in childish squabbles like the one that just happened. Maybe it was that dammed headache that didn't seem to want to go away.

He pinched the bridge of his nose and nodded to the assassin didn't do it for you, he grumbled. Thanks to Kore's timely intervention and subsequent showing of the worst scarring Patrick had ever seen on a person, the fight had been avoided.

He nodded in appreciation to the medic woman as she gave Scarlett some food and took the exhausted girl to the fire. That really only caused further internal self chastisement, he had taken the girl with him when he fled the town, he had promised to take care of her. Instead what does the old fool do? He hands the little girl a weapon! He needed a smoke.

He slipped his brass knuckles back into his pockets and let out a shrill whistle that sounded exactly like a hawk, albeit one that had gone extinct not to long after the war. Most birds had a unique call but this one was similar enough to hawks that we're still around that it would be hard to tell unless you were specifically listening for it. The call was a signal, one of the many he had beat into Keiji's head over the last two years, this one took the place of an all clear letting the kid know it was safe to come back.

Confident that the kid had heard and remembered what the call meant, Patrick turned to collect his coat and cap. He placed the cap back on his head and folded his coat neatly over his arm. He had just pulled another cigarette and was about to light it when he heard someone groan. The soldier looked up in surprise when he noticed Snow and the hunter...

Cognitive anomaly deticted...

Advise full system restart...

Patrick blinked a few times, he remembered everything, ever since the computer was put in the back of his head he could store and access memories, so he never forgot anything...ever! This hunter kid could end up being more trouble then he originally thought.

That didn't matter right now though, he would let his computer run diagnostics during the night to see if the hunters power could be countered somehow, right now Patrick needed to act like the adult he was.

He flipped his coat over his shoulder and walked over to stand above the hunter, he sighed this kid wasn't a bad guy he tried to stop Scarlett from getting involved in the fight. If he had wanted a chance to escape he would have egged the fight on hopping to get lucky.

Patrick knelt down next to the still paralyzed hunter, alright let's get you over to the fire and try and convince rich girl to unstick you, he said in his usual gruff tone, that goes for you to Snow with all the blood you've lost today you need fuel to keep ticking. While he was talking he had lifted the hunter up on his shoulders in a firemans carry, now he held out his hand to Snow, or you might get sick and that's the last thing either of us want while we're stuck in the woods like this.

It was like a jolt of lightning, embodied by a tangible smell. A thought that came to him so suddenly, and left so soon that he was left with mere confusion. The images of a women flitting about in the back recesses of his mind, a face familiar, yet foreign to him. he felt great compassion for this person, but the thought of them seemed to induce grief and anxiety so strong that it made his entire body quake with nervous fright. This was only heightened as his senses slowly drew back into his being, the sensations that ran through his bones and muscles, could only be described as great fatigue. Like rusted joint's, his body lifted up and creaked and cracked. Muscles unused and unkempt by age. The pain was accompanied by the feeling of pin pricks, up and along the entirety of his body. Forming thoughts seemed to come as a problem to him, his jaw locking as he tried to draw in a long and heavy breath. This accompanied with the slick glue of eye goop, that seemed to make it so he couldn't correctly open them. Both things combined caused a knot to form in his chest, fear. holding fast and tight against his heart, his arms lazily and clumsily lifting upwards in order to wipe away at his face. Alas, his arms seemed to have problems as well. fingers didn't quite work, and grasping almost seemed impossible. frustration and confusion are little words, barely able to describe the fruitless emotions which wrapped and clung tight to Einua's thoughts. With effort, the crust keeping his eyes closed tight, was slowly wiped away. light cracking into his vision, unused muscles contracted and became sensitive to the old forgotten sensations, his perception of the world focusing once again. compared to the blank void of his mind, everything seemed so vibrant and tangible. Yet it also seemed so far and out of reach, as if everything were merely a dream.

"A....ahh, whh-" The sound of his own voice shook him, soft and frail. It cracked and wavered as he spoke, the words barely able to leave his lips. vibrations cast off the roots that surrounded him. And in response the tree covering them seemed to shake and quake in protest to his presence. And yet again, weakened muscles pushed against the brace of the ground beneath them. gentle skin bruised and dirtied, thighs drawing in against the firmness of Einua's chest. Solace in the feeling of his heartbeat against his skin. The warmth of his chest and the feeling of his breathe drawing in and out reassured him. Alive, he was alive. He was back in reality. "H....hello?" He tested the strength of his voice again, not realizing that there was another person in front of him, at the current situation, everything was so overwhelming that presence of the other person completely passed him by. Although ringing was persistent in the the back of his mind, accompanied with the sense of dizziness. This drove him to sit, and then stand; Albeit in a rather clumsy fashion. Passing by the boy that stood there in front of him, clothes barely clinging to his feminine form as he tripped and fell forward. Tumbling forward out into the brush, fresh air bracing against the back of his throat, accompanied with the grimy taste of dirt as his face plunged deep into the soil. Once again, shaky thighs pushed again the ground. Einua's form slowly and ungracefully pushing itself back up into a standing position, eyes still adjusting to the lack of light, and seeing in the first time for lord knows how long. His clumsy actions caused him to create quite a ruckus, The sound of whimpering and thrashing around in the brush was prevalent for quite some time, nary until he fell down to his knee's to rub at his eyes once again. trying to rub off the last of the goop stuck in his eyes. After a couple moments of this, he raised his face to glance about. realizing that he was in the presence of others, he stiffened up. he couldn't quite tell how far or close they were to him yet, but he could see their forms in the dark. Fearful that they might be hunters, he turned his center of mass away from them and started to crawl in the direction leading away from the group. His fear brought on the light shining brightly in his chest again, he had already made a ruckus, and most likely a fool of himself. but if they hadn't noticed, maybe...just maybe he could sneak away. find his bearings...and well then, he really didn't know
