Fantasy The Dark World (rp)

Sera took her eyes off the man she was helping for a second before looking back and seeing that he had lost consciousness. Still didn't get a name either. Kore didn't have much urgency in her voice and neither did the man himself. Amnesia makes a person lose their memories, not how to feel pain. Yet, no one seemed to bat an eye to the situation, one casually flinging medical advice at her as well; like she actually had something like alcohol lying around. At least some people weren't feeling like crap, though, she saw Snow no longer had thorns and was hugging Jackson, if only briefly. 'Good,' she thought, smiling slightly. 'Some positivity is helpful for morale.' Sighing with resignation, Sera shouldered her back and began to walk by herself through the path that Kore had created.

Daydreaming was not something she did too often when outside in unpopulated places, but the group was under the shelter of plenty of plants and trees, so it was unlikely she'd have to react to anything on a moment's notice. Stuffing her hands in her pockets, she softly hummed a tune to herself. A tune that her mother had taught to her.

Keiji watched her reaction, clearly not going to listen. "There's really no choice for you. I'm coming." He didn't really like people with her attitude, even if it was similar to his in a way. "I'm not going to be staying here alone. I've already said that I don't know the way back." He was annoyed. The woman, not ready to deal with Keiji, began moving at a quicker pace. I'm not about to be left behind. Keiji followed after her in a jog, but he knew he wouldn't be fast enough. He was going to need to use his abnorm as to not be left alone. There was no way he'd stay alone in this forest, definitely not after seeing that thing that came after this woman.

Luckily for him, Keiji already knew a drawing that could help him catch up to her and flipped to it and pulled it out. Sighing, he spit onto the paper and crumpled it up before tossing it in front of him. Immediately, a creature the size of a horse expanded from the paper. It was similar to a bipedal dinosaur, with talons on its toes and the same stance, but it had two feathery antennae and wings. Keiji climbed on top of the lizard thing, and sat on its back as if it truly was a horse. "Keep up with the dark haired woman in front of us." He commanded, and it obeyed instantly, starting a brisk pace so that it would end up next to the woman. Keiji looked down at her. "I hope you've realized by now that I'm not taking no for an answer."

As a Bounty Hunter, Lucca had been called many things, "a homicidal maniac that kills people and children because they were born different from what you call human" was definitely one of them, and he knew better by now that there's no use arguing, anything he can say about that matter would just be excuses to these kinds of people. Not to mention... the old timer isn't exactly wrong. Lucca had killed before, and as for why he killed them, one could say that it was because they were born different, because most if not all of them were Abnorms, some were very dangerous Abnorms. Did Lucca regret making those decisions, the decision to kill them rather than take them alive? He'd be lying if he said he didn't but in some cases, he felt that's what needed to be done, and he believed that lives were saved due to that, some other cases, not so much, and he only wished that he could have done better. In the end, Lucca kept his mouth shut, it wouldn't help anyone to say anything at this point, least of all himself.

After the old timer had ran off looking just a bit frantic, Lucca found himself some time to relax. The old timer was scary, and for some reason won't leave Lucca alone, most like due to some gripes with Bounty Hunter. Well, whatever it was, it certainly wasn't Lucca's fault, probably... Shortly after the old timer had left, Lucca was spoken to again, this time it was Scarlett, asking him who he is with a smile, a smile of all things, and here he though everyone here aside from Snow hated him.

"Who me? I'm a bounty hunter, but you knew that already right? Um... if you're asking for my name, well it's Lu-" Lucca paused for a moment, should he so readily give out his real name? It would probably be unwise wouldn't it? "Lucas, Lucas Miller, at your service." He said with a wink.

Jackson frowned behind his mask as he was apparently getting nowhere with Kore. She had shut down at the mention of the hunter and was not open to talking anymore. It was desirable that he would prefer to talk to someone instead of himself. Suddenly he heard a pleasant tune so he looked around for the source finding it coming from Sera. He was actually supposed to be partners with her so he decided to go and chat with her instead of his own thoughts. Walking over to her while making sure not to fall behind, Jackson then spoke. "That's a pleasant tune your humming; oh and I should have told you sooner that I was an abnorm. But then again, you saw what I indirectly did to the bar anyway so cat's out of the bag huh?"

Vira

"What nonsense is that? There's clearly a choice for me, boy," she spat, before departing his side at her quick speed. She had no intentions to babysit. He was lost? That sucked for him. He had no idea the way back? Probably shouldn't have wandered off then, huh? Idiot. He could get his own power that helped him travel the forest! She wasn't his mother, or his guide, or anything of the sort! Certainly not a babysitter!

"Vira..." whined the voice in her mind, back again already.

"Grr... I told you... you don't exist Ellie," she grumbled, face darkening, picking up her pace even more; walking forward with determination. Ellie spoke again, but Vira tuned it out, not wanting to hear it. Not wanting to care. She knew Ellie was going on about being 'kind', being 'compassionate', all that jazz. Yeah, well, Vira wasn't like that, alright! She was a coldblooded killer! Case and point the body traveling down the river. "I know you are.. not that, Vira," Ellie was responding to her subconscious. In a soft voice, she felt Ellie 'touch' her gently. "It was S... him; he made you this way, but you don't have to be this way. You don't have to be what he made you."

"I said -shut it!" Vira shouted out, just as her abnormality sparked hard, pulling her attention away from Ellie and back towards the brat she knew that was following her. Her eyes widened, staring at some sorta weird... monster-creature-thing. "What on fucking Earth?" She couldn't believe her damn eyes. It.. that thing had even brought her to a stunned halt. Staring at it for a moment, her mouth hung open. Vira didn't know about everything in this world, but she could swear such a thing did not exist.

Well, it seemed he somehow had followed her advice, and 'got his own power to help him travel the forest'. Shaking her head to snap out of it, she immediately chastised heatedly. "What the hell, boy?! Leave me alone! What do you need me for when you have that fucking thing? You're fine!" She pointed forward. "Just go that way! There, solved!"

"Language..." the voice of Ellie echoed in her mind, disappointed that she was being so abrasive towards a kid. This time she 'chatted' with her sister in her head, not speaking aloud. 'Oh, fuck off, Ellie! I'll curse at this idiot all I want! I'm not responsible for this child!'

So Patrick had remembered her. Snow looked up at him with this thought in her head as he came down to help her. “I… he’s all alone with a bunch of people who want to hurt him. He’s my responsibility. I… I took away some of his free will Patrick. How could I not at least give him his hat back?”

She smiled softly, biting her lip as the man called out for Keiji. Her focus was on the Hunter who she heard say his name was Lucas to the strong girl Scarlett. Lucas… she nodded and mulled over the name. I suppose it’s a cowboy name. For he seemed very cowboyish. Suddenly she was being pulled by Patrick towards Kore of all people. Snow’s heart raced but she was determined to stay calm. She could not show fear or Kore would think she was right. And Snow did see her as a threat and Lucas would attack her. He couldn’t attack anyone in his state.

She kept her head down as Kore responded. She seemed the epitome of calm considering all of the things going on… was that a bleeding boy? Snow stepped back, uncomfortable at how her blood hummed. Rose was too close for her to tell if he was abnorm or not. Rose made her very...very uncomfortable. She had basically threatened her… told her she wouldn’t have eyes on her at all times. Snow’s eyes looked up for Ryu, wondering if Rose was true. Did Ryu still see her as his… responsibility? Duty? Ward? Friend…?

She shook her head and didn’t realize that the more stressed she became, the more she squeezed Patrick’s hand. Her own nails dug into her other fist, the one free of hand holding, and drew blood. She was keeping her nerves together so her thorns didn’t come out. God why was she such a mess? She turned, looking for Lucas, wanting to give him his hat. But she… her heart went out for the man who had helped her twice now. He had lost someone dear to him. A child.

“Does he wander away like this often Patrick?” Snow asked softly, looking up at him once before quickly staring at her feet again. She didn’t want to intrude.

It seemed that Sera'a humming had caught Jackson's attention. Returning back to reality, she took her hands out of her pockets and began to fidget the remainder of the cloth around her hands. The lines on her arms not so concealed anymore.

"Actually, I didn't exactly see what you did. I was on the ground, beneath the counter when you shouted the "Get Down!" So that's what happened, hm?" Sera attempted a gruff voice, to imitate Jackson's voice, before giggling softly for a brief second. "But thanks for telling me yourself. It shows that I've at least earned your trust."

"I've been doing what I thought was best..." Her voice began to lower as she spoke. "But so far I barely know not even half of the names of the people here."

Sera gave a rueful smile, "I guess even now I can't escape the harsh reality..." Hastily changing the subject, Sera raised a hand and moved a strand of hair that had fallen over her eye behind her ear. "You like that tune? I try to practice it every now and again..." Her voice trailed off.

Keiji's stopped immediately when the woman had. She was very surprised by his creature, as it had stopped her for the moment. She was very loud, too, and would probably make it easier for anyone to find the both of them. His creature, which he decided to name Okuna, let out a roar which reverberated through the trees. He sighed. This was the downside of Okuna. She was always so loud with her roars. Keiji slipped off of her back. For now, she could revert. She lowered her head and touched her forehead with the palm of his hand. Instantly, she swirled back into a piece of paper which he picked up and returned her to the book. He put the book back into his bag and looked back at the woman.

She still wasn't having it, now cussing at him, too. As if that would convince me. He was very persistent and wasn't about to back down now. He had a feeling that mentioning how she had been talking to herself would only make it harder to get her to listen. It was strange though. Who was this Ellie? He couldn't be bothered by it. All Keiji needed was for her to allow him to stay. It wasn't like he was going to bother her with questions. He didn't want to be alone forever. "That's not how it works." He narrowed his eyes. "I said I was staying with you, not going off on my own. If you'd like, I won't talk to you, only follow."

Kore Dair
Staying silent, Kore did what she had always done best. She listened and observed, quietly taking everything in as she walked at a brisk pace.
So the kids an abnorm too... She was impressed by his power, snickering under her breath as the trees struggled to describe the... Thing he had created from paper.
As they neared the boy and Madame (Kore decided this was a suitable nickname for foul-mouth), she could hear the trees clearer, and corrected her path minutely here and there so they would hopefully meet up, and reunite the boy with his father. They were still a ways off yet, but soon she would close enough to be able to use her powers, even if it was weak, to hopefully get the boys attention and guide him back if it seemed unlikely they'd cross paths.
And anyway, the sooner they made camp, the better, in her mind. She would need to create some shelters for the group, find food enough for all these people, create crafts for them to traverse the river, and somehow slip away to take her bag of grains home. She sighed at the long and ever increasing list of things she needed to do. At least it would keep her busy.

Patrick matched Kore's calm demeanor, but he was anything but relaxed. To anyone who had ever been in a serious fight the old soldier seemed to freeze every muscle in his body tensing, like the calm before a storm.

Critical threat detected
, he said in the same odd monotone he'd used while threating the hunter, authorise biometric boost, command code sto...he paused when he felt something tighten on his hand and looked down to see Snow standing there next to him. Still holding his hand nonetheless.

Where, how, what was she doing up here, he thought. Shock and confusion replaced the rage he was feeling. He took a deep breath, the tension left his body, and logical thought started to reassert itself.

If he had done what he was about to, it would have devolved into a general melee, he was certain. He couldn't risk that against an opponent like Kore, not in the forest, not knowing who the others would side with, not with Keiji missing and Scarlett weighed down she was, and certainly not with a frail girl with the power to control people holding his hand!

He looked back to Kore a moment later, thank you, he said in his usual gruff tone, the names Patrick, he grumbled before spinning on his heel and moving to walk back to Scarlett.

They got halfway back before he let go of Snow's hand, pulling his hand to pinch the bridge of his nose, that was a close one he hadn't been that angry with anyone in years.

He took a breath in before looking at Snow, sorry didn't mean to drag you around like that, are you ok? he asked before answering her question, and no, he used to, often infact, but not for a long while. He said before turning and following along with the rest of the group being sure to keep his pace slow enough for her to keep up.

"Sera, it just takes time to learn everyone's names; unless they've already spoken. Look though, you know my name, Snow, Kore, Patrick, Lucas, and Scarlett; thats a good start though right?" Jackson took a breath before explaining what she missed in the bar. "When I yelled "Get Down", I also punched a piece of steel thrown towards the counter itself. That's what caused the shockwave that took out most of the bar in case you were wondering. The tune is nice, it reminds me of the guild I ran with, not my hometown though. Back there, this would not be have been sung all that much anyway.

"Is that so?" Sera smiled again, piecing together the events of the bar from a different perspective. "So you protected me, is what you're saying right? Thanks."

"It sure is amazing to think about how that much damage that little girl caused. To be honest, I was not expecting so much action in that place. I could have died there," chuckling and closing her eyes nervously, she continued. "But here I am, walking amongst a group of abnorms like a group of friends. Who saw this coming, I wonder."

Having served for a considerable number of years, Sera was accustomed to being around danger for an extended amount of time. Here she was, with no exaggeration, walking besides those who can extinguish her life. The thought of it triggered little to no sense of alarm in her, like she had made her peace; though she definitely did not want to die. She resumed her humming, adding more notes to it as it progressed.

Kore Dair
The hairs on Kore's neck stood up, as she waited for him to lunge. She showed no other outward indication or acknowledgement of the fact that he suddenly seemed to want to rip her guts out.
Internally, though, she was hysterical. She wanted to cry she was that scared, just run away and never look back, curl up in a ball and scream for a mother she didn't even remember. But none of it showed. Outwardly she was just as relaxed as she had been when she answered him, apart from the little hairs on the back of her neck, and goosebumps - all of which were hidden by the bag and Zephyr.
She thanked every god she could think of when he stopped mid sentence, and went away. She was so petrified that she didn't even hear his name when he said it, her ears were ringing like a bomb just went off next to them.
That voice... Coupled with its statements, it dredged up a deep rooted and half buried terror within her. The feeling was so strong no words could describe it.
Somehow, she managed to hang on to her sanity by a thread, and keep this breakdown completely internal. Nothing showed, not on her face, not in her posture, only perhaps a slight glimmer in her eyes. Something no one would see unless they looked deep, deep into those verdant orbs.
If it were even possible, she became even more quiet, unable to speak or utter a sound - at first because of her fear, but gradually as that ebbed and faded slowly, slightly, she stayed quiet still.
Listening to the trees, she got his name... Patrick. The trees were worried, they called to her, but she couldn't even reply to them, partly because she knew from experience that people found it a little weird if one began to have deep conversations with a plant, but mainly because she didn't know what to tell them.
Truthfully, she had no idea why it had scared her so much. Sure, a little fear was good - he seemed like he had wanted to tear her limb from limb, but the indescribable panic she had felt was... She had no idea where it had come from, nor exactly what it had come from. She had felt it a few times before, but not in a long time...
I... I don't u-understand... I said his boy was fine, that we'd see him soon, I-... She was completely at a loss. Having never in her life experienced such feelings, nor been responsible for something in such a deep and emotional way - his sudden aggression confused and upset her greatly. Kore was incapable of understanding it, which only really made her more upset.
She sped up a little, eager to make camp and get away from these people - when she could finally grieve and heal. Alone.

Vira

As soon as he claimed 'that's not how this works' she felt her hackles rise like a cornered animal; she wanted to shout, scream, and claw out at this brat, but not even Ellie had to speak up. She decided against it, forcing herself to calm down. He was annoying yes, but no such extreme actions needed to be taken... yet. Regardless, he couldn't just manipulate her. No one could. They'd soon learn why she was often compared to a snake. Glowering at him, she stated callously, "Not a damn thing you've said or done is anything I've liked at all."

Walking along, she decided to point out, "I don't know why you're following me. I have no intentions of finding whoever it is you lost.. If you stick with me, you'll only get.. " She paused midstep, crunching some sticks underneath her heel. She should've been paying a bit more attention; it appeared very slightly that the environment around her had been manipulated. Like someone was forcing them down this path! It wasn't anything that sparked her power, so she didn't really catch it. It was just her perceptive skills that noticed subtle movements in roots, and branches.

Suddenly something did spike her power. A group was drawing her way! They weren't anything particularly dangerous, but they could pose a danger to her. -Hence why her power spiked in her mind. "More lost..." she mumbled to the boy, forced to eat her own words mere seconds later, while readying for a confrontation, reaching for her blade. Then she realized. It was those same people from before! Just beyond the bushes. Wait, how, though? She had been away from them for hours, literally left them in the dust! Some damn power brought her back this way! Was it.. that tree lady?.. Kore! Right, her. "Grrr..." Vira growled angrily, stepping forward to confront the group that was beginning to piss her off. Well at least she could drop the brat off with them.

Scarlett O'Hare

She listened intently as he spoke. She knew he was a hunter that was obvious, but at least he was admitting it now. Lucas huh? She thought to herself as the name felt weird to her. Not like it didn't fit him, but she just didn't like the sound of the S at the end. It was weird to her. "Luca." She spoke with a smile as she turned her head towards him with a small smile, one that wasn't forced this time. "Luca, Luca" She started repeat the name as she heard her master again. Why are you singing? You're not a child. You're a beast, now act like it and kill the hunter! Scarlett flinched as she thought of what he'd say. "Not my master anymore." She tried to tell herself that and turned to "Luca" with a bit of trepidation. "Why become a hunter?" Scarlett's eyes were filled with both fear and curiosity. She really wanted an answer to a question she'd never had a chance to ask. This would likely be her last opportunity.

Ryuji Nakamoto

Ryuji quietly walked in the middle of the group pondering his life when he finally forced himself back to Earth. "Ugh. Serious thoughts really aren't my thing." He chuckled as he started to move towards the front of the group, leaving the small girl carrying the hunter "Lucas" behind him. He didn't feel like flirting with anyone, he just wanted to find a suitable place to stop for the night as it grew ever closer. He wanted a large tree to climb into to just stare at the sky and lose himself. Become someone else, anybody else for that matter and just forget. Sighing as he finally managed to squeeze his way to Kore's side. "Kore, any chance we're getting close to our stopping point? I feel restless among all this brush. I need space to fight and move." It was a legitimate issue for an assassin. Restricting one's movement was the surest way to an early grave. He placed his hand on her shoulder just in time to see her lost in her own thoughts. "Sorry to disturb." He muttered, removing his hand and hushing himself. He may never know when to stop flirting, but he knew when to leave someone alone.

Kore Dair
They were almost there... Kore could almost taste her freedom from this group. She was still so lost in herself that the barely even noticed Ryuji's hand on her shoulder, and only really managed a small nod.
They broke through the thick undergrowth, and emerged into the clearing next to the river, where there was plenty of space to set up a temporary camp. There was also two other people, people she had expected to be there. Madame, and the boy.
Well.. At least his father shouldn't want to kill me anymore. She looked at the boy briefly as she thought, her gaze drifting to Madame. Before she realised what had happened, she locked eyes with the woman she had nicknamed Madame. Unintentionally allowing the woman access to the intense feelings she had worked so hard to keep hidden. Ripping her gaze away, she studied the ground with great interest.
"We're here. We camp here tonight.", her voice was strained, yet still calm - almost completely opposite to how she was inside. Without another word, she gently lay Zephyr down, propping him up against a fallen tree, cushioned with moss. And then promptly stood, picking the tallest tree along the treeline, dropping her bag of grains at the base (securing it soundly with a few roots), and sitting on the branches that had lowered down, which took her up like a lift, as high as she could get without harming the tree.
She curled up into a vulnerable and defensive ball, thankfully hidden from the large amount of people below - even more so when the branches began to wrap around her, creating a snug yet spacious cocoon, where she was sheltered from the world.
Even if she was listening to everything these people were saying, she ignored them. Just relieved that she could blatantly showing her intense emotions on her face, but managing to stay silent as a mouse. Hugging herself inside her woody sanctuary.

It was like a nightmare, pitch black all around him, no light, nothing. Was quite the place to be in. But thats no what made it a nightmare. Zephyr could hear talking, someone with a deeper voice and killer intent in their voice. It felt so real the person sounded like they were talking to another "Who needs a weapon.." Zephyr could swear he was hearing screaming but he could not be sure. But next he heard the sounds of crunching bones and the blood curtling scream of someone. This must have been some sort of hell. "When you are one" The man finished as the screams slowly died down and blood started to pour into the blackness. Zephyr kept taking steps back but it was catching up, eventually he bumped into something. He slowly turned around and a gust of wind woke him up.

Zephyr flung upwards from his spot against the tree. He was checking himself and breathing rapidly but he realized he was just sitting against a tree in the forest. The day was ending as well which was always peaceful. He grabbed at his side in some major pain and looked around seeing no one he noticed. Where had Kore run off to. He poked the grass and his finger dug into the earth "
Still alive..." he says his upbeat attitude really dying down, he was really tired. Probably from losing a lot of blood by being an idiot but still. It was fine. At least he could see a slight sunset through the trees soon. He wondered if the group was leaving him there, he would not blame them but he knew deep down he would not die. He would just get up the next day and wander back to a town.

Not dying seemed to be a curse to him. Most would consider it a blessing but he could not handle this whole mess he was in. But he had to keep going, regardless of how much he did not want to. Zephyr tried to get up but just slid back down the tree in pain. He just kinda laid there his head leaning against the tree and his eyes to the sky, lost in the clouds, or the sunset. He could not really tell. Zephyr took the bag off his back slowly but surely his eyes a cloudy silver and still staring up at the sky. He pulled out a cloth from his bag and wiped off the blood from his wound using some of the water he had and slowly he brought out something very odd. It was as if he was no longer there and someone else was. A needle and a thread. While others came slowly into the area and were not paying attention he sutured his wound up. It was an okay job which was odd. Slowly he slipped it back into his bag and leaned back against the tree again his head going back up the sky his eyes clearing a bit.

The song was constantly nagging at him, it was as if he is running around with a mild stomachache and just could not find a decent outhouse to relief himself, and it just keeps getting worse by the minute. At this moment, the conversation with Scarlett was a godsend, and it helped him take his mind off it, if even a little.

"L-Luca is it..." at first he had thought he had accidentally gave away his real name, but quickly realized that even he was not that dumb, "Luca" was most like the nickname she had just came up with. How funny that it sounds almost the same as his real name, Lucca could not help but chuckle at that thought. "Sure, let's go with Luca."

The song was getting harsher and harsher, practically tormenting him for each moment he's away from Snow. How long till it's gone? He asked himself. But immediately he felt a feeling of deep loneliness upon the thought of the song leaving him. He knew, that it's not him, it's the damn song, this damned lovely song, he both loath it and adores it, or rather, the songs was actively turning his feelings of loathing into adoration.

Once more, Scarlett spoke to him, and he was glad to have something else to focus on.

"Yes... yes let's see," it was becoming hard to him to focus his thoughts, but he fought on, he will not allow this song to control him, no matter how much it made him feel like he wants it to, his will wasn't going to break just yet. "Well, at first, I really became a hunter because there wasn't anything else I could have done. I just don't seem to leave an impression on people so no one really wanted to hire me, or even remembered to, I guess. So when I saw an ad that says I could be a part of the League of Bounty Hunters just by putting your name on a paper, I just thought, 'why not?'. So I signed up, I put my name in their paperwork and they gave me a League ID card, just like that I was all set. The job itself was tough, cause you know, Abnorms are pretty tough customers to bring in, but you earn in accordance to how much you do, and though it wasn't the job with the most stable income, you get to go wherever you want. But well... I'm not a fan of the killing, never liked hurting people. You may not believe me when I say this, Scarlett, but most of the time I try to bring them in alive, and I only go after baddies and trouble makers. I don't believe in that Devil's Children bull and I leave good people alone.

It felt good to talk, it took his mind off the song, but there's something more. It has actually been a while since Lucca get to talk so much, the last time he did was with his parents, and that was years ago. Sometimes he wonders if they even remember his face now. Well, at least he have parents who are both still alive. But Scarlett here, she's probably not so lucky.

"You know Scarlett, I've seen kids like you before, Abnorm kids that are taken in by gangs, put into small cages, and was starved and beaten. I brought some of them in myself, but I could never do much for them. I can't really do much for you either, not as I am right now, but if you ever need someone to talk to, or if you need help, feel free come to me, I'll do what I can for you while I'm here, as thanks for talking and not being mean to me."

Vira

Annoyed wasn't a word with a deep enough meaning to describe how Vira was feeling when she came in contact once more with this random group of Abnorms. Stepping into view, the girl with the darkhaired ponytail sighed visibly. This weird kid was in tow, and she hoped he'd just ignore her, leave her shadow, and find whoever the hell he was looking for once again, going over to them to bother them instead. Immediately, upon entering the small little clearing beside the river, she locked eyes with the one known as Kore. The annoying Abnorm bitch who had messed with her pathing to actually bring her back in contact with these others. 'Huh, fear. I see it in her eyes', Vira thought to herself, before Kore used her plant-manipulating powers to ascend above.

Guess there was no confronting the 'Plant Bitch' just yet. Though Vira wanted to give her an earful about messing with her when she was out in the forest. Her ears caught wind of another conversation -not willingly of course. Forgoing bitching out Kore, she marched over. "You aren't a 'fan of killing'?" she hissed at the man who she had advocating for letting live hours ago. Glaring at him, placing her hands on her hips, she carried on. "Yet, you still took in Abnorms?? Kids? 'Starved and beaten'? You even brought those in? What are you a fucking idiot?! You think just because you brought them in 'alive' that means anything?! That's almost worse! You have their blood on your hand, whether or not you pulled the trigger of your gun and put a bullet through their head yourself! You think the League, or the WG care who those Abnorms are? What they've gone through? Do you think they're as 'kind' as you? Do you think it matters that they've been beaten by their own kind before? You fuckin' oblivious, gullible retard! Of course not! Whether you see 'Devil Child' or not is completely irrelevant! Because the WG and the rest of the League do!" She was fuming. Vira wanted to rip this guy apart then and there, you could tell. She stood face close to Lucca's, redhot with anger. She was shaking, struggling to not leap on him and gut him.

How?? How could she be so fucking stupid?! How could she have advocated for his release?! He wasn't any different than the other Hunters. Not at all! How naive she had been even hours ago! How could she let Ellie's stupid sentiment get to her like that? Ellie appeared in her mind. Vira raged at her. 'GO THE FUCK AWAY ELLIE!! I'M NOT IN THE MOOD FOR YOU RIGHT NOW!'

And here Lucca wondered where did the angry lady had gone to, and frankly, he didn't really want to find out. But here she is, spitting venom at him for no apparent reason.

"Huh?" Lucca couldn't help but glare at the one that had suddenly engaged him with verbal assaults, "Yeah, I realize the methods of the League and the WG weren't exactly stellar, but to make them out to be some kind of monsters that just grinds up Abnorms for the heck of it? You either have some real solid evidence or you're just a sucker that bought into gang propaganda, and I'm leaning towards the latter."

Lucca didn't believe it, he had lived under the World Government his whole life, he worked for them, he believed in them. He wasn't going to change his mind just cause a lady yelled something at him.

Vira

Vira couldn't believe what she was hearing. How had she defended this bloody damn man?! "'Gang propaganda'??" she repeated in a huff of incredulity. "Did you hear yourself?! You're the sucker! A goddamn idiot if you believe that WG propaganda! They've clouded your mind! They've brainwashed you! Brainwashed you to do their dirty work!" She scoffed, backing up, beginning to laugh incredulously. Swaying, she brought up a hand to her mouth to stifle herself. "Ahahahahannhm!!~ Th-the fact that you even said 'gang propaganda'! I mean..- WHAT?!" She stepped up back in front of him, arms out at a shrug, yet her face was morphing from the laugh she had just a second ago, to an angry frown again. "You don't even know me, yet you assume -fucking assume I'm in some gang?!" She clenched a fist, ready to strike him, or squeeze his throat, or reach for her knife to stab him... something -anything! Ellie's light voice echoed in the back of her mind, and she drew in a hefty helping of air.

"That just proves to me you've been completely and totally brainwashed. You're a fool to think they don't do exactly that. -Monsters that 'grind up' Abnorms. That's probably the better part of what they do, too. Nothing less, for a 'Devil Child'."

"Are you saying you're not? Because you sure look like the type, the type of person that acts like everyone in the world owes them something, the type that thinks they can do whatever they want just cause something 'bad' happened to them. Those kinds are the ones I see most commonly associated with them gangs."

Lucca was pretty mad now. How dare this person just come up to him and start yelling nonsense without any evidence. And this anger, it's refreshing, it almost blocks out the song that keeps on nagging him.

"And how 'bout you learn to clean up your own mess first before you start lecturing others. Don't you act all high and mighty when you can't even take responsibility for what you've done!"

Lucca was of course, speaking about the bar they had wrecked and just up and left after, showing absolutely no regards to other's properties. He wasn't going to bring it up because that'd just meant more pain for him, but now he's too mad to hold it back.

Vira

Vira's nerves were absolutely fried all right. His words only fanned her flames. She couldn't help him, grabbing at his shirt collar, she pulled him up to stare him face to face. His hot air from his mouth clouded her eyes when he spoke his nonsense, but she hardly noticed. She could only feel the pyres within her igniting and growing hotter. She slapped him across his face hard with a sound that resounded over the area.

"I'm saying you have no idea who I am! Just to assume I'm in a gang is profiling at its worst! It's people like you that give Abnorms their bad name for no reason! People like you could say any damn thing about any Abnorm, and then the Abnorm is the one punished, even if they didn't do anything!" She glared down into his eyes. "As long as some asshat like you wants them punished, it doesn't matter what the Abnorm did, or who they are! No one listens to the Aborm! Because they're afraid of them! Grr.. You're apart of the problem!"

Her face distorted with confusion. Her.. 'mess'? What was he talking about? Surely he didn't actually know who she was... He was just profiling her, he didn't actually know she had once been in a gang. -Through no fault of her own, too.- She had done terrible things in it, but had long since left it! Ellie flashed in her mind. Right. She had left it, to try to do right. To try to 'clean up her mess'. Atone.

Looking back down at the man she held by the collar, she growled. "What mess? Responsibility? What are you talking about?" Her face darkened, "By responsibility.. Surely you don't mean that I have done something wrong, and that I hurt another."

Scarlett O'Hare

She didn't like this loud mouth. She was screaming and yelling, just like all the people in the gang. It was only a matter of time before things got violent. The minute she slapped Luca, Scarlett moved, putting all her strength into her legs and grip on him, propelling herself towards the tree Kore went to. "Devil woman." Scarlett hissed towards Vira with a glare that hinted at violence. Scarlett was afraid of being hit, but at the same time, she was always ready for it. She knew she'd get smacked, shocked, beaten, starved and abused, there was nowhere lower to go. "Stay away." She set Luca down so that he wouldn't fall over. She needed something big and sturdy to use as weapon, but Patrick currently had her spear. It would have to be a punching match, and even if she couldn't land a hit, she could get the girl away through sheer force and the effect of wind currents. She'd done it a few times before, though it burned through an even greater amount of calories.

Rose Valencia

Rose, WAS, going to start setting up her campsite the minute they walked out, but low and behold big mouth was back again. "Damnit. I know what I said, but come on God." She sighed under her breath as she listened to the pair argue. He thinks the WG are saints?! Rose pulled out her switch blade and started walking towards him when Scarlett leapt away. "You sit the fuck down girl." Scarlett walked over, removing her glasses and locking eyes with Scarlett, watching the girl fall limp on the sand. "I'm going to 'chat' with this idiot." Grabbing "Lucas" by his collar, Rose glared into his eyes. "Look in my eyes you little snot nose, shit stain of a worthless rat. My FAMILY that hadn't done shit to people except PROTECT them from gangs, were taken away and killed by those monsters because they had abilities." Rose slammed his back into the tree as her temper soared.

"I lost some of my closest friends with abilities that weren't even combat related! They didn't pose a threat!" Feeling both anger and sadness eating away at her, Rose took a deep breath. "My family lost two ten year old kids because of your human gang, and yes that's EXACTLY what the WG is. It's the biggest ugliest fucking human gang in existence. Ever thought that YOU'RE the one being fed gang propaganda? Aren't you just a little too zealous because your ability makes the whole world forget you exist? Don't you think that YOU'RE the one trying to make it seem like YOU have a purpose in this god forsaken world?" Rose slammed him into the tree once more. "Take a good look at your reflection kid, because you may call out everyone here for being an abnorm, but at least nobody ELSE here has offered a child up as sacrifice for their own fucking ego." Tossing "Lucas" towards the river, Rose moved over to Scarlett. "Alright kid, you can move again." Rose's hues changed ever so slightly purple before she looked away and put her glasses back on. She huffed as she heard Scarlett slowly pushing herself onto her feet.

Snow
tenor.gif

Snow knew that something was wrong when Patrick began speaking. Her blood sensed a power spike, felt it in her blood and his now that she was so close, touching him. But he stoped when he noticed that he had dragged her along with him. Suddenly the soldiers face was softened and Snow noticed the change, letting a shaky breath. They were spun back around and Snow tripped over her feet to follow him till he let go of her hand, leaving her a little off balance. He wide rose eyes stared up at him with confusion as he asked her how she was.

“F-fine… I um… I just, you didn’t let go and I… Kore… I know she must be kind… but she doesn’t like me and I got n-nervous… That was it.” Snow bit her lip and followed him, distracted from Lucas and what he was doing. So Patricks kid did run off… hmmm…

But her attention was taken when she felt a light punch to her stomach. She coughed, gripping it as she looked over her shoulder to see… oh no. Another slam and she fell to her knees, clutching at Patrick for support as she coughed harder. Her breath was short and when it finally took a break, she crawled to a tree, pulling herself up. “No…”

She ran to Lucas, screaming, begging Rose to let him go. And she did… towards a river. Snow understood that Rose was upset. Knew that she had suffered so much. But she was not going to do this. Snow’s thorns were fully out, her hair white and her eyes bright glowing red. She ran beside Lucas… his hat clutched in her hands as she crouched over him, daring anyone to touch him again as she pulled him a little closer to her on the bank.

If Rose made her limp, fine. She would fall on Lucas who could not move as well. Anyone who touched her would be poked as the thorns shot out further than before on her legs and arms and tiny ones coming out of her back. She was screaming in her throat at the pain the thorns caused, the blood she was losing… but enough was enough.

“ALL OF YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP! YOU ARE ALL TURNING INTO THE MONSTERS THAT HURT YOU. HE IS DEFENSELESS.WEAK. YOU ARE ALL PATHETIC PICKING ON SOMEONE WHOSE ONLY DEFENSE IS HIS WORDS!!” She screamed into the forest, her eyes on the woman and Rose.

“He… is alone with people who want him dead. He had his will taken away from him. His body taken away from him. The only thing he has are his words. They. Mean. Nothing. They cannot hurt. They cannot kill. Only you animals can do that. So back away now. Because right now you are no hero's. You are no victims. You are just... sad.”

Her attention turned back to him, tears falling out of her eyes. “I’m so sorry. Oh god Lucas I am so sorry… I… I felt it. I felt every punch they gave you. I promise I won’t be so careless again. They don’t understand you are abnorm. They are hurt and scarred. I understand… but I know you thought you were being kind. I understand that where they see cruelty is where you were trying to show kindness. But you both know that you’re wrong just a little… the truth of things is never just geared toward one side. Lucas you have to believe me.”
