Futuristic The Codes of Humanity

A little spooked by the Extant, she looked towards him then back at the woman as her ear piece speaks. Wanting to question who the Extant was, hearing the news from the woman's recruits seemed important. Elle glances toward the Extant; finding it necessary to speak. "The captain of the HDF is asking our help to save lives of these humans." Looking back to the lady. "What were you going to do if we declined?" Although it seemed clear according to her team being positioned. They were suspiciously ready for something. An attack or capture maybe. Whichever it may be, the HDF didn't seem to happy if they heard a simple -no- . She still needed to hear it from the very mouth of the human.

A shadow passed over her as she sat on the ground shaking. She wasn't a field agent, she had a desk job for christ's sake! To be honest she'd only made herself the representative so that should could see the Codes she was trying to 'capture' first hand.

She looked up, wide-eyed, afraid of more chains or guns, but instead someone else stood over her, his hand extended. Cautiously, she took it, and allowed her self to be hauled up.

"I-I I'm Chief Minerva Jones, Head of the Strategy and Tactical Department of HDF..." She repeated to the new comer. "I don't have any files on you here I.." She was growing increasingly nervous around these... things.

She eyed Elle, speaking carefully. "My superiors didn't trust you'd come.. Willingly." She stated. She chewed her words before continuing, "They were afraid of what might have happened if you'd said no. I was against these..." She paused for the right phrasing "precautions, but I was not allowed to come in here and destroy the Jammer with out some kind of protection." She smiled stronger this time, "I am the Chief of my department after all." She shrugged.

Elle, with her unphased face, accepted her explanation with a simple nod. A rather different one, but better than what she'd thought initially. Unusually gaining some trust in such a human being. Elle was still on her guard around the chief. Her huge sword transformed back into an orb. Holding her tombstone close to her. "As long as there is no trickery, I'm okay with this deal."

Minerva rubbed her throat idly.

"You won't get trickery from me, I'm sorry I can't promise the same from everyone."

She looked around nervously. I'm not sure how you lot prefer to travel, and I don't know how you intend on stopping the Shades but we have vans if you'd like..." She trailed off, feeling less nervous now, and more awkward. And a bit small.

Error's Heartgaze let him see several more people waiting to move in in case things go bad. "Call them off." He said as he started to use Terrorblade, giving his weapon a dark aura. "I will come, but call them off first"

Error was suddenly back, threatening her with his blade. "Woah!" she said, startled. "They're not going to do anything unless I say," she gestured mildly at her right ear.

"Some of them may be idiots, but they aren't stupid, they know they can't take you on without the Jammer."

After helping her to her feet, The Extant took in what both she, and Elle, had to say with the same expressionless face as before. Though given his lack of discernible facial features and a .. mouth, it was honestly the best he could do.

In the end, he finally reasoned that the woman was either a really good liar, or she was being honest, and more importantly; he decided he didn't care either way.

"Well, Chief Minerva Jones... I just have one thing," he finally responded.

"Do you mind if I call you Minnie? That other thing you called yourself was a mouthful."

Then he snapped a look at Chain Guy.

"And you, stop being all .. You. You're scaring the pretty lady, and she's being all nice and things."

Minerva dug in her pocket and managed to produce a pink and blue band-aid. "This is the best I can do for now," she smiled, handing it to Error. Man, that guy was freaky.

She looked at the man who'd crashed through the celling and was horrified at what he said. She spluttered and opened and closed her mouth like a fish. "No!" She said at last, "My name is Chief Minerva Jones! I am the youngest Chief in the history of HDF and I will not be referred to as Minnie."

Elle examined Error's leg despite her lack of medical skills. She knew she wasn't able to fix anything. Of course if Demi could reattah her leg, she could heal Error as well. Listening silently as the scene plays on. Wanting to chuckle at the word "Minnie", but paid her respects to the captain and stayed quiet. To confirm my part of her questionable statement earlier about transportation, she states. "I'd like to travel alone. I'll get there with what I have. I'll simply follow your vans to the area." Elle glared at the window sill beside her before looking back at Minerva. "Thanks for the offer though."

He took the bandage and applied it to his wound. "Walk." He said as he started to walk. "Where?" He asked. "Loot criminals." He finished.

Minerva nodded curtly at Elle. "Very well." She continued to huff over the preposterous nickname, in the moment of her anger being slightly less uncomfortable in the Codes' presence.

Error was saying something and when Minerva turned to look, she frowned as he walked away, but didn't say anything. She'd rather not provoke him, she'd read his file. He didn't seem one to hang out in groups in abandoned buildings, or help the HDF in any way.

"Where?" He repeated, loudly this time. " Things to do. Hurry." He shouted. He really needed to go, al the rich criminals might be gone by the time he get's there.

"Whatever you say, Minnie." He responded with a tone that might indicate to some he had enjoyed the woman's freak out.

"Anyways. I'm 'The Extant'." He shrugged. "It's corny, I know... But you already knew that, yeah?" He figured she did. I mean she'd come pretty prepared from the looks of it. Even had a snazzy band aid.

Walking past the captain with great understanding, she goes toward the roof once more. After reaching the roof, Elle oversees the multiple groups of recruits with their vans and other vehicles. She lifts her arm with orb in hand towards the cable whilst electricity connects the two and attaches the orb to the lines. Elle hanging from the orb before hopping back on it again. Waiting for the others and the rest of the HDF to move with her, she stands on her tombstone; confident of its strength. As long as there's consistant energy flowing, she's safe above the ground.

As Elle left out the window, Minerva shuffled uncomfortably. If things continued at this rate, she'd have nothing to show for when she returned. This was becoming overwhelming.

She mumbled to Error, "Uh, well most of the conflict seems to be around the city central. I'm sure it'll be faster to drive.."

She whipped around and snapped at the man "I am Chief to you."

She turned to Error, "Maybe you could.." She trailed off and decided to leave him to his devices.

She eyed The Extant carefully and replied, "My sources told me you were across town. You were an unexpected addition to this situation," she cocked an eyebrow "maybe a useful one? Unless you have more important things to do, like being snarky," she sneered.

How dare he call me Minnie, my sister would call me that to tease me! Hah! "The Extant"...

Minerva bit her tongue from saying more, after all, they could need his help.

Couldn't he have picked a less pretentious name though?

"Yeah, well... I got lonely." He shrugged.

"But nah, I'm not really busy at the moment... Actually looking for work since my house was exploded.. Seems like you're the only one hiring."

In any case she was the only one who seemed to know what was gone on, or at least knew people that did. In the end, best case was that he helped her a bit, and then went of to do his own thing. Worst case ... Probably more bodies that way.

"So yeah, lead on Chief Minnie. Your bosses are probably expecting some kind of ... something, right?"

Error took note of what she said before heading to someplace where criminals might gather. When he arrived at a place he beat up many of them and looted their valuables, including money, bullets, and keys. two of the keys he found very useful. One led him to a locker which had a container, he looked inside and smiled. The other led to a sleek black motorcycle. He loaded the box onto it and rode away. To the city center.

Minerva hid a smile as The Extrant agreed to ride with her.

"That they are," she smiled. "They're just outside," she said, heading down stairs.

She almost didn't mind being called Minnie. She thought they could get along- if he dropped the Minnie thing.

Shura looked to Demi as he followed the woman. For a human, she wasn't as bad as he expected, but still, she wasn't all that great either. He didn't want to work with her, but it was against his morals to just let people die. Besides, this is what they were raised for. What else were they supposed to do? "Demi," he says, "I don't think the two of us should fight unless it's necessary. I'm sure the other Codes can handle it. Having two Forbidden's participate could cause more trouble than actually help. We should just watch for the outcome and then make sure everyone can leave."

Keeping her composure, focused on the next move. Although patient, she grew tired of waiting. A beastly rumble sounded from the pit of her stomach. Now that she could remember, she haven't had a bite to eat since the crash. Elle planned to eat after she found safer shelter. After everything that had happened, hunger was no longer of an issue. It's not time for food. I can wait a little longer. Currently training her body to strive further without falling victim to the beast in her stomach. The growling continued. A distinctive smell caught her attention as she looks towards the nearby hotdog stand. Elle wished for a better meal than hotdogs, but at the moment; anything worked.

He wakes up, sitting up and yawning. He gets up out of bed and stretches. "Best sleep ever." He goes to take a shower, washing all the dirt off of himself from yesterday. "I'm sooooo clean." He turns off the water and opens the closet, now stocked with towels and toiletries. "Oh land lady. You shouldn't have." He wraps himself in a towel after drying off. "Not that you had much of a choice." He heads downstairs passing up all his new furniture and heading for the kitchen. "I think i'll have some cereal." He starts thinking of the codes he ran into last night and then he starts to think of something else. "They'll be searching for us." He scowls a bit as he pours his cereal and heads to the couch. He sits down and turns on his flat screen. The crash was all over the news. He listened intently.

Demi looked up at him and gave a soft nod, "Thats fine... I dont want to help anyways" It was unlike her, rejecting a plea to help people, the people she was supposed to protect. She didnt like being forced into something yet alone being forced into something because it is expected of her really seemed to annoy her "I'm done being a toy."

Shura gave a brief nod. He could understand that wholeheartedly. The humans had treated them like their play things; tools. Nothing more than weapons for their safety then had the audacity to fear them. Just because they were a little altered didn't mean they weren't human too. "Yes, though, we can't kid ourselves. We should still be ready just in case."

"I know, but i will fight when I deem it necessary." Her eyes flashed up at him for a brief moment, embarrassed by giving such an honest opinion. She usually kept everything to herself.
