Futuristic The Codes of Humanity

Demi let out a laugh, small and quiet. She could not believe this woman, Be civil?

"How about you remember that we do not need you" She was finding it even harder to stay nice, Humans were starting to irritate her.

Moving quietly Demi glanced back at Shura, curious as to his feelings on the situation.

Shura's Tombstone detached from his arm, transforming into a hoverboard once more. "I will not be riding. I have my own means of transportation," he replied, glancing at Demi as he stood on the board. He was offering, though he doubted anyone would notice. "I won't be inside some metal box going who-knows-where. So know that if that van suddenly does something it shouldn't, you'll be facing down a nuclear explosion fairly quickly," he replies, his eyes shining red menacingly.

Demi smiled softly, taking his offer with a silent nod. She felt safe with him, which was a bit unusual on her part.

"I will also not be riding, Thank you though" giving a small nod she moved to Shura's side.

Shura's hoverboard lengthened, allowing for a second occupant while he waited for them to set off. He was a little surprised that she'd understood his offer. No one had ever gotten him so well.

Minerva's eyes widened. Those two were flying, Elle was god-knows-where and Error was on a.. motorcycle? She glanced around her, but the only one left she could see was, Extant.

She let out a sigh.

"I suppose, you want to do your own thing too?" she said to him, "It's not like we can stop you." She raised her hands in a shrug of defeat. Damn Codes, it was just a van...

With a start she realised that the Codes had no reason to trust them at all, they'd be imprisoned all that time... The thought made her uncomfortable.

"Thank you Shura" She closed her eyes before letting out a sigh, She didnt like the situation at all. Having someone she could somewhat trust was rather comfortable, she didnt get angry, or as awkward when he was around.

The Extant merely sighed and watched the other Codes either fall into the typically assumed stereotype of unnecessary aggression. Though ... in the case of the guy on the ... thing; watch him act like a dingus, before turning back to Minerva.

"My own thing? Look, I may have wings and and all, but these suckers are pretty much useless," they flapped weakly, for emphasis. "If you don't mind, I'd prefer the van thing of yours to my own two feet." He shrugged. "Besides, you're someone to talk to; and despite what my .. er, those guys, have to say ... doesn't seem like I need to be too worried."

Minerva gave a nod. "Very well," she smiled at him and started towards the vans.

"None of you are at all what I expected," she thought aloud, "I'm not sure what I expected though."

Shura shrugged, wondering how hostile he was coming off. He wasn't trying to be or anything, he just didn't think getting into a van with people you don't know was a good idea - no matter what you were.

"Well, I expected to wake up this morning, and not be in a rather largish crater. I mean really, I like, tweaked my side or something; and that wasn't any fun at all." He responded, seemingly unaware that she'd been thinking out loud. "But we're in the same boat; to be honest, I know those guys are all Codes, but I don't actually know any of them. Though I get the feeling I may have dodged a bullet, they seem too ... gloom and doom to me, y'know?"

When he reached the van, he waited patiently for the "welcoming" party.

She listened to Extant curiously, and pulled open the van door.

"We'll see about your side when we get there," she looked at him "I mean- if you want that is?" she added, stepping back to allow him to go first.

"If it's not already healed or whatever, I mean Codes heal fast right?" She continued yammering, ending with a nervous laugh.

He squeezed himself into one on the vans seats, careful not to squish is wings, up against the back of the seat.

"Er.. I dunno, I mean, do Codes generally heal quick? I mean, I know I do. But I don't exactly look like the other guys. I'm a ... er, what do you call em? "Physical anomaly"." He blinked.

She was about to step into the van, when Andy grabbed her arm. "Be careful," he whispered, looking to Extant.

She turned and looked too. "I know."

Andy looked doubtful and walked away.

Minerva gingerly stepped into the van, closing the door. The engine started and all she could manage to get out was a quiet "Oh" in reply to Extant.

She folded her hands in her lap, sitting rigidly, and the man in the passenger seat, passed back her laptop. She took it without a word.

"Heard that!" He waved at Andy.

Really he didn't blame them for being cautious. His home explodes, and he survives the fall with nothing more than a tweak in his side, and a nap. Not to mention he was, by all rights, rather dangerous when he could be bothered. He wasn't Code Cataclysm for nothing... But it took a lot to bother him.

When the finally started moving though, his thoughts drifted to that of the current situation, and the potential causes.

Shadowlords was the go-to, he supposed. But it could have very well been one of the other Codes, or a technical failure or any number of things, really. Still, he supposed guessing wouldn't make it any better.

After a time, he looked at Minerva and sighed.

"You know, I understand the caution... But I promise I don't bite."

She jumped at Extant's words, and managed to squeak out, "Well I hope not!"

She bit her lip and pressed back into her seat. She felt very nervous, especially around this one, she wasn't sure why, he seemed the friendliest. Maybe it was because of his file, it said he was dangerous, but he had yet to threaten her, or be cold to her, like the others.

She shuffled in the car seat.

He chuckled. "I wouldn't trust me, either." He fell back into a silence for a moment, before opening his ... er, speaking.

"Took a lot of moxie to waltz into a room full of Codes and attempt to strike a deal with them... Even if even wanted to harm you, I wouldn't. Just because of that." He looked at the closely.

"But if I'm being completely honest, I don't see why I'd want to hurt you, or anyone else for that matter. No point. Not to mention you're like ... The first potential friend I can remember having." He blinked.

"Besides.. you asked me, and the others, to be civil. Which means I'm going to be civil. They probably won't, but..." He shrugged.

"That's Codes for you, I guess."

He paused.

"That last line was a joke. Get it?"

She turned and looked at him. "Yeah.. I, guess it did." she turned ant looked at him again, and smiled at his words, finally laughing after a moment. She glanced at the other two Agents in the car before looking back to Extant.

"Friends, huh?" She sat back in her seat. Friends with a Code.

The thought didn't make her feel so uncomfortable, like she might've been had someone told her about this exchange weeks before. They're just humans, weird ones, who shoot plasma and crash through ceilings, but human.

She laughed at her own thoughts, and cocked her head to the side.

Shura followed behind the van, wondering what Minerva and Extant were talking about. His mind then wondered to what Extant had called him earlier. He wasn't being too hostile was he? Was he acting like the humans had acted towards him? He wasn't sure - he didn't think so... Being angry; cautious - it was normal right? To feel that way around people who kidnapped you from your parents, tried to weaponize you, isolated you, and hated you. Was it odd that he feel uncomfortable with them around? Or had he been affected by them more than he thought? Was he just as prejudice now? Shura sighed, unsure of himself. He wasn't becoming like them was he? Certainly, Minerva seemed nice enough, but kind words can be the sharpest of weapons when used correctly. What was wrong with not wanting to be hurt? Betrayed? He sighed again, watching the various cars around him, still driving in the early morning.

Elle balancing on her orb high above the city on top of the electrical cords, she spots the big van moving along with Shura and Demi on a hover board. Food was put on her back burner for the second time as she lifts one of her legs, leaving one on the orb before kicking the cord for a kickstart. The orb flies on the telephone cords, shredding sparks as it passes by. Elle keeps a close eye on the van as she directs her orb roughly in the same direction, twisting at sharp turns and staying low to her orb to keep balance. Her arms stretch out behind her to increase speed. Blueish silver hair dancing in the wind behind her as it glimmers in the early sunlight, giving a settle lavender highlight along her streaks. Why should she trust these humans? "All of them are backstabbers" she murmured. Questionable to her own assumption whilst thinking back to the Captain's words. Also thinking back to her experience on the streets. Even though she seemed unemotional, she was too overwhelmed. There were way too many lights and people gathered in one close net area. Should she soften up and let others in? Demi seemed to react better to her actions. Maybe... Doubt immediately rushed over her face. "They won't understand me anyway." Would she be forever alone? Only the truth shall prevail in the end.

Hearing the engine of the motorcycle as she looks downward toward Error. Wondering whether to take the offer or not. Her tombstone was very capable of traveling with the cords in its aid. Even if so, riding on a motorcycle would have been better than riding on cords that might redirect her in a different area. She didn't know the cords' directions in the back of her head. Elle placing a hand on her orb, she jumps off toward the motorcycle and lands right behind Error in the nick of time. A second later and the wheel would have been her maker. Feeling slightly odd, she hugged Error to stay seated, her orb glued to her hand as she did so. Hoping she didn't make it awkward for him.

Error shifted so Elee would be comfortable. "..." He said, telling her to hold tight. He revved the engine and sped down the road and towards the city center. "...!" He shouted in glee, feeling the rush of speed.

Elle followed his order as she holds tighter. Her first time on a motorcycle was quite liberating. She gazed ahead, feeling the intense rush from the increased speed Error was going. Feeling the thrill of the ride, a genuine smile came across her face. So many things that night til now she has first encountered and she's starting to get the hang of it all. Error's excitement had spread to her seamlessly. It was strange for her first time, but she was thoroughly enjoying it.

Despite the fun thrill, her stomach once again reminded her of the lack of food she had since the crash incident. Growling and rumbling loudly like the engine roaring within the motorcycle. A little embarrassed by her hunger, Elle refused to disrupt Error from his joy ride. The rumbling occurred again but a sigh was heard. "Would you want to eat somewhere?" Usually she would simply go to eat without a word, but this situation caused her to speak. Her stomach speaks its importance.

Error felt Elle's arm's wrap tighter. It felt really...nice? "...Hmm..." Yeah, she...err, it, it felt nice. They reached the van and rode alongside it. He revved the engine as if telling the van to speed up before overtaking them. Then he swerved to the side and stopped in front of a diner.

In the rear view mirror she watched Elle and Error zip away. Hopefully they'll be back.

She watched the city roll past in silence.

Friends...

Admittedly, Minerva didn't have many "friends", so this was all pretty new.
