Fantasy The Break of Dawn - The Four Elements Sequel (OPEN TO ALL)

Tai looks around at the group, seeing that no one else moved to follow Clara, he did.
"I'll come along too."

He rests his left hand on the handle of his sword, and follows closely behind Clara.

"I've never needed wood for a fire," Tai says with a chuckle. "What should i be looking for?"
Clara smiled at him as he followed.

"Ah, you didn't have to come." She said and picked up a few twigs and sticks. "Twigs, sticks---anything to keep the fire in control. You probably know about that nore than I do, haha." Clara bent down to look at the river up close as she closes her eyes, as if she was focusing. "Water travels everywhere. I was trying to see if it leads us to our destination." She stood up as she started to set up camp. "Alright, would you like to do the honors?" Clara set the twigs and sticks down as she waited for him to light it. "You do have fire abilities, right?" She teased slightly.

(( right? Lol ))

Jake was still stunned after that explosion. He wiped the soot off his face, He managed to get up but he had to lean on the wall. The wall was covered with burn marks except a small portion of it, There was an outline in the shape of his body were he thrown too. Jake started to think about the explosion, "Demon blood explodes with heat so they can not go into sun light, they attack when dark" But then again Everyone new that demons hate sunlight but they never knew why. Jake started to think about the scouting group, "I hope they make it to the shadow Kingdom, hmmm...... The Shadow Kingdom, I wonder if there is a light kingdom?" but even if there was they would not find it unless they showed them self's. After these thoughts Jake could not stop thinking of the possibility.

Tai smiled back at Clara.

"Yeah I know, i wasn't doubting your strength." Tai said almost forgetting that she herself was a soldier. Probably much more qualified for battle than a sword wielding blacksmith like himself.

He listens to her talking about the things needed to start a fire, and begins to feel dumb for even asking.

"Of course!" Tai says as he mirrors her actions, picking up twigs and sticks.

He piles his on top of hers, and simply smiles at her question.

"Why yes, i do" Tai says sarcastically in response. He crouches slowly next to the pile of wood, and reaches out his hands very close to it, radiating heat. Tai knew that just setting it ablaze would burn the fuel too fast, and defeat the purpose.

He closes his eyes, and in a few moments a small flame sprouts from the top of the pile.

"There!" Tai says in an accomplished tone, dusting off his hands.

While Clara, and later Tai, went out to get wood for the fire, Isaac stayed behind to help set up the tents they were going to sleep in. They had brought some materials along with them, knowing that the entrance of Shadow Kingdom was quite far. After everything was set up, Clara and Tai returned with firewood and they both set it up. “Good job you two” The man praised, going to their supplies bag to dig through the food and snacks they had brought along. He took out some fruits, cookies, water, bagged nuts, bread, cheese and butter and then passed it around the people who had already sat down around the fire.

As for him, he was satisfied with cookies and some water. For some reason, the man just wasn’t hungry.

Clara flashed him a smile, "Looks like I underestimated you." She said this in a joking manner as she applauds him.

She sat near the fire that illuminated the night, and put her hands out for warmth. It was the beginning of spring, still considered cold in the region. "I wonder why the Shadow Kingdom is here." Clara said out loud as she snuck food in her mouth when the others weren't looking.

"The adventure longs for a traveler...my grandfather always used to say."

Tai takes his place across from Clara with his hands folded on his chest. "I guess its another way of saying, the problems just long for someone to attach to. Maybe they're just evil?"

Tai looks toward Isaac, stuffing his face with cookies. He wanted a few himself, but foolishly only packed a sword, so all he could do was look. With a smile he looked back toward Clara.

"What do you think?"

As night descended upon the sky the group had opted to set up camp for the night. Min Lao Shi slowly strode around the perimeter of the makeshift campsite as they lit fire and pitched tents, looking for anything unusual. They were still many miles from the Shadow Kingdom, but it was uncertain how far the Shadow's eyes could see.

Once the group appeared to be settling down, Min crouched and jumped high onto the first branch of the tallest nearby tree. With agility and grace, he jumped higher and higher until he reached the top. From here he had a clear view of the sky and what lay before them. In the distance, Min could see the forest end and the barren land of rock and sand begin. That was the undeclared border of the Shadow Kingdom. To the left of this, Min could see a steep but manageable path up into the mountains. Such a journey would lengthen their mission, but would ultimately ensure maximum safety and evasion from their enemies. This was a recon mission after all.

Min Lao Shi considered jumping down and discussing the options with the group, but them decided against it. It had been a long day and they all needed time to unwind and clear their heads. Min sat upon the branch and crossed his legs, preparing to enter deep meditation.

Clara looked over at Tai when he asked her what she thought, and she gave a little shrug. "There has to be a reason why, of all times, they appear now." She removed the serious expression from her face, and replaced it with a smile. "Well, we'll find out! I think I'm going to sleep. See you in the morning." Clara said as she went to her tent, wrapped around the blanket made up of hides.

@Aine

@Aur0ra (( if you want to, chaos is welcomed :) ))

Tai nodded when Clara said she was going to sleep, and agreed that he too should do the same soon. He watched her begin heading toward her tent, then he turned and went to his. Not many eventful things today, so Tai was sure he would travel to the realm of sleep quickly and peacefully.

As Tai entered his tent, he found that he had forgotten to bring a blanket. With a gentle smack against his own forehead, he realized that he hadn't forgotten, but simply burned his own blanket to ashes this morning. "Idiot.." Tai muttered to himself, as he curled into a ball, gently radiating heat.

LUCIFER

deep within the old fire kingdom's forest at the end of a dark tunnel lies a hidden door, the door doesn't look like much for the people passing by. A harmless door that hides a whole kingdom behind it.

''My lord, there's a group camping outside'' one of the demons knelt in front of Lucifer delivering the news. Lucifer walked to the gate and opened the door, the only thing showing on his face was a cruel smile that promised destruction, he had manners after all, it wouldn't be classy of him not to welcome the visitors.

The first thing our crimson eyed demon had noticed was a man in his sixties meditating on a tree, the look out he reckoned as he now walked on the ground slowly towards the tents. Lucifer came unaccompanied this time, he wasn't in the mood to kill, he simply wanted to inquire after the group, the demon could feel energy and grinned thinking that he was able to stand among powerful people, though he also smelled fear, not much, but that hint of fear which made killing more enjoyable to him.

Lucifer kept walking until he now stood in the middle of three tents, arms crossed as he eyed the sleepers. With one look at the camp fire he made the flames increase and almost reach the sky till the light around the forest resembled the light of the sun, he'd hate for his guests to catch a cold after all.

'' welcome to the fire kingdom deeries'' Lucifer said opening his arms invitingly with a voice loud enough to wake the sleepers up

Tai slept a deep, dreamless sleep. Laying in his travelling clothes, with his sword clutched tightly in his hand, rolled into a ball.

"Welcome to the Fire Kingdom dearies...!" He heard in his sleep, and could feel a great heat coming from outside that warmed even his firebending skin. Tai covers his ears, and tries to force himself back into slumber, not wanting to mistake his tent for an enemy this time.

After laying a bit longer, and becoming more aware of his surroundings, Tai realized that this was no dream, and there was a massive fire burning outside. He snapped fully awake, his head bumping the top of his tent. Tai reaches for his blade, and with a swift motion cuts himself from the tent.

The sight before him, was a hideous one.

"You..." Tai utters with a quivering breath.

The scents, sounds, and sights from the city a few hours ago all flashed in Tai's mind. And suddenly, his plan to wake the waterbenders and save this forest from the flames, had all drowned in his rage and bloodlust.

Tai planted his feet, aligning his sword to the right side of his body, facing his opponent.

"Come!"

He slides his right foot in front of the left, and spins, a roundhouse kick sending a ball of flames at the creature. Tai mirrors himself and sends a second blast at his enemy. With no time in between assaults, he crouches and springs at Lucifer, using flames beneath himself to aid his decent into battle. With two swift motions, his sword is above his head, and slashing at Lucifer.

After landing, Tai rolls and turns to face his opponent, bracing for any counterattack.

''Now now there's no point in fighting amongst the ruins of a fallen kingdom'' The demon chuckled as he stood defenseless in front of the fire bender's flames that didn't give him the slightest harm: ''and there's no point in sending fire at a creature of fire sweet boy''Lucifer smiled disappearing when Tai's sword came slashing at him, the demon teleported to the tree which the earth bender sat at, he put an arm to his shoulder and whispered a hello in his ear chuckling

"Arghh....! Huh...?" Tai stumbled forward, barely catching his balance before falling into the dirt.

Figures.. He thinks to himself, replaying the events that just happened in his mind's eye. The fire hadn't effected the creature, which confused Tai because he thought these things were shadow benders. He hadn't thought clear enough though, of course fire wouldn't effect a shadow creature because they dwell in the very core of the underrealm.

After silently scolding himself for failing in his assault, he turns to see the beast landing next to Min Lao Shi. He felt slightly reassured, knowing that Min was by all accounts probably the strongest bender here, but still knew that he was vulnerable in this state of meditation.

"Min Lao, look out!" Tai calls from the ground, hoping his attempts to warn the earth bender aren't in vain.

Jake was all over the place he was making blueprints he was he was building various inventions he was on a role but his genus did not last for too long, It was around 2 in the morning and he was getting pretty hungry so he decided it was time to get a midnight snack. He heads up the stairs and into the kitchen and makes himself a sandwich, He opens his ice box that he had invented and and got some ham, then opened the pantry and got some bread, He had got the bread from the baker that lived a block or two from his house, It was really good bread but of course he might never have that good of bread ever again, Jake was not sure if the cook was dead, "O well might as well" Jake said to himself. Jake sliced the bread and slapped the ham onto the sandwich and gobbled it up faster then a hungry saber tooth. After he finished he rolled into his comfortable bed and fell asleep.

MIN LAO SHI

Thump Thump

Thump Thump

Thump Thump

The heavy beat of Min's own heart echoed in his ears.

Thump.......Thump

Thump.......Thump

"The shadow nation rises Lao Shi. It's eye gazes upon you."

Min Lao Shi leaned forward and tilted his head slightly at that last remark. It was extremely subtle and he had failed to hear it.

"The shadow nation rises Lao Shi. It's eye gazes upon you."

Min Lao Shi had heard it that time. Their position was compromised. The recon mission was a failure. "To the smallest blade of grass to the tallest tree, from the rolling pebble to the stalwart mountain, I thank the Earth for it's gracious assistance..." Min Lao Shi was about to finish his prayer of thanks and break out of his meditation, when a figure in the darkness ignited a few meters away from him on ground level.

Min found it difficult to describe. The vision was of a flame, dancing around a figure of darkness. In front of this dark figure had lain a path. Along his path lay shrubs, flowers, and trees of various sizes. All of them shriveled away at his presence and turned a sickly brown. When they did so, Min heard the screams of children that he had heard on the day of the attack.

The figure approached the campsite, caused a scene to wake everyone up, and then promptly jumped onto a branch next to a figure who sat upon it's edge.

Wait......was that him?

The figure that appeared to be Min Lao Shi looked upon Lucifer. His body slowly turning to stone and his eyes glowing an amber yellow.
"I have felt your every step." The figure bellowed with confidence and grace. It appeared to emit many voices at once. "The blood you have spilled on my body has drawn my attention to you. The roots of my children have been polluted with the remains of the innocent." The body of, what appeared to be, Min Lao Shi had now completely turned to stone and began to crumble away. "I have no riddles, I have no games, I have but one warning....." The stone body which supported the talking stone head of Min Lao Shi broke apart and the branches of the tree moved to grab his head before it fell, amber eyes glaring into Lucifer's. ".....the Earth shall not be still for it." With that, what remained of the stone figure broke away and the branches returned to their original position.

Min Lao Shi awoke, sitting atop a tree across from the dark figure. Visibly, he maintained an unshaken appearance. But in his mind, he was in awe. The Earth had used him to speak. Never had Min Lao Shi experienced such a close connection with his element. He also was surprised to hear the Earth refer to itself as "I" or "My" As if it was a single entity. Min had always been taught that the Earth was a connection of many living things that worked to balance and support each other. Who was it, then, that claimed itself to be "Earth."

Min Lao Shi stood and looked upon Lucifer.
"I have been looking forward to speaking with you." He said softly as he jumped from the tree onto the ground below.

LUCIFER

Both shock and excitement were visible on Lucifer's face as the earth spoke to him, he knew for sure that it wasn't the same man speaking. The demon's eyes glittered with madness as he leaned to pick some of the crumbled ashes the earth had left and scatter them on top of his head giggling, he came for fun, and this was exactly what he was having right now.

Lucifer slightly bowed to the figure who spoke last, Min Lou Shi. his reputation preceded him for being one of the best generals, and the wisest, a trait the two did not share.

Following in his trails the demon teleported from the tree into the ground, and now stood with his arm leaning on Tai's shoulder as he looked at the great Min: ''Your element favors you'' he said addressing the general not really paying attention to the boy: ''not so often does an element show itself through a wielder.'' for a fraction of a moment the demon looked serious, a sight you don't get to see most of the time, the seriousness turned into mad humor again however.

The wide grin returned and now he walked to the middle of the fire and sat allowing it to engulf him, Lucifer crossed his hands looking straight ahead:
''speak'' he said waiting to hear what the earth general had to say ti him

Tai watched with a mass awe, dropping his arms to his sides. He laid eyes upon Gaia, the great force of the earth, speaking through Min Lao. It was a feeling he had never felt before, to be in the presence of such power and could do nothing but submit to the force.

He's got to show me that...

Tai's emotions of awe and reverence were replaced with fear and disgust, as Lucifer leaned on him.

"Ugh!" Tai dropped his sword and clutched the side that Lucifer had leaned on.

An irrefutable scent and presence of death surrounded him. But there was an illustrious beauty to the demon, something that drew Tai in, almost intoxicating. He felt himself being pulled toward the Hellish being, and tried his best to resist.

After recovering from a simple touch from Lucifer, Tai dashed to retrieve his blade and immediately jumped back again. Confused and appalled at how little of a threat he was to Lucifer, made clear by his non caring attitude, he bit his bottom lip.

"Man i ought ta...." He was just about to be reckless, when he saw Lucifer address Min Lao Shi again. Tai knew this was a fight he was outclassed in, he silently sheathed his sword and stepped to the shadows to watch.

The young air general called every healer she knew to the kingdom, she sent word for Jake as well knowing that he was an inventor, she refused to allow her best friend to die. Aria went to Lyra's room again and sat by her bed waiting for the healers and Jake to come, she wanted to know how the inventions were going and if there was something she could help with: ''how are you feeling?'' she asked Lyra with concern showing on her face

Jake heard a deep voice out side his door, Its Lyra she's sick, Jake replayed "I'm No healer I think you have the wrong person","But her sickness it's not normal its not natural Its a demon poison","Ok ok ok calm down i'm getting up just let me go to my basement and get some stuff". Jake got out of his bed, He was not even going to bother getting out his his pajamas, Jake still half asleep opens his basement door but to finds that he missed the step and he was at the bottom of the stairs with a thud, The next thing you hear for the next five minutes is groaning. He was able to get everything he need to make the anti poison he heads up the stairs and opens the front door "Ok now i'm ready lets go", Ten minutes later he was in the bedroom of Lyra, " Hello everyone you probably remember me, now lets get to work" ,He sets up everything on a table and but the demon blood in a special box so it would not break, He sat down and got to work.

Jake thought about Aria question, "Not very good The only thing I have found is a face full of ash, and I don't want to worry you but this is not one hundred percent safe, Just wanted you to know, Also this might explode so stand back, this stuff is very unstable. I don't have much knowledge of this and probably never will in this day and technology. It's just odd this stuff is practically death it's self, But who know's I might find something but no promises and I'm sorry if I can't you know...... save her I just don't have enough Information but we might just get lucky.

Sorry guys i shall reply now :) ))

Lyra woke at the sound of Aria's voice and gave her a weak yet happy smile. "Aria, hello!" She replies to Aria. "I'm fine, trust me." In all honesty, she felt like she is in so much pain that some parts of her body was numb. "Maybe even getting a little better." Lyra says with a smile as she took in the pain. "Ah, is the healers coming? I think I'll be fine without them...oh hi Jake!" She looked at the object he had and exchanged glances with Aria. "What is that?"

@Mr jake

Clara slept peacefully as she dreamt of herself with her parents back at the Water Kingdom. She watched as the past played again in her head, fire kingdom soliders killing her friends, the leader, and even her tutor...she felt the fire touch her skin like she was in a hot spring. She woke up to realize that she was smelling smoke and ashes from an actual fire outside. "What's going on..." Clara mumbled as she saw the demon. Her eyes widened as she took and step back, and watched the encounter between Min Lao and Lucifer. She got prepared to fight if anything came up. "We must be close then..." Clara speculated as she took out her staff and looked at Lucifer wearily.
