Futuristic Templar OOC

Evening everyone. I've been lurking on this thread for awhile and have decided I'm very much interested in joining. Is there a cut off date for submitting a character? And any particular type of character I should veer towards or against given the current demographic? 
 
@AngelOfTheMourning Willkommen. There is no cut off date, so anyone would be welcome to join at anytime throughout the rp. You can make whatever character you like so long as it fits the rp and the lore is taken into account.
 


@EMP As soon as I have the time to write the first post, which should be tomorrow or the day after. We'll see.
 
Arrrrgh, bashing my head against the keyboard trying to figure out what to write about WW6 and technology in the lore... screw it, I'm a just post. But yeah, if y'all have any questions on whatever, just lay it on me. I think it'd be a lot easier for me to figure out lore that way anyway.
 
How long did WW6 last, why was it fought, who fought on each side, and who won? Bonus question: Did WW6 spread to other planets besides Earth?
 
Okey dokes, this is more like it. WW6 lasted for about 5 years and it was fought because by that time, all the world's nations had coalesced into two distinct powers, Africa (which had absorbed all of Asia and Europe except for the western half of Russia since the last World War) and America (which had absorbed Canada, Australia and all of South America). Both had expanded and kept expanding after the last World War until it became apparent that the next one was only a matter of when and how. The when was almost 2 centuries after WW5 (year 2300ish) and the how was when Russia made a push to reclaim its eastern half, America stepped in to lend assistance and Africa retaliated with orbital bombardment weapons, targeting both Western Russia and America. America responded in kind by mainly targeting Africa itself and both sides pretty much wiped each other out with no clear winner as the leadership of both powers were annihilated in the following ground wars. This resulted in the complete fracturing of America and Africa into a colossal mess of independent states, each vying for power which marked the end of the war. The next century afterwards up until the current time of our rp is nothing more than a chaotic bloodbath, fought on by the descendants of the military forces of WW6 who don't realize that the original reasons for fighting has long been made pointless. The only sane places left are the grand cities, which had been established sometime between WW5 and WW6, and had declared independence just before WW6. Being self-sufficient and having barriers that not even orbital bombardment weapons could penetrate, they were effectively closed off from the rest of the world except for other grand cities. Altogether, there are about eighty dotted around the world.

The lunar colonies and Mars were not involved in the war, but did suffer from ripple effects in the form of food and general supply shortages until they became self-sufficient enough to survive without supplies from Earth, and even they had their own conflicts from time to time for various reasons.

Phew, that was actually quite a bit... but now I got no time to post. Eh, I'll just do it tomorrow.

Okay, so I didn't post but I did finish writing the backstory for my character Chiria Zam. I thought it'd be cool to include Alex Faux as a part of it, unless you think otherwise, @EMP, Anyways, I promise that the very next thing I'll do is post and finally get this show on the road for everyone. I'm sorry for making you all wait this long.
 
Not in the historical sense, no. If you're interested in the rp, please have a look see in the lore section. If you have any questions that aren't covered by it, then feel free to shoot me a pm or ask them here and I'll try to respond asap.
 
@SecretRock hey, so uh, this is going to be a bit awkward but when I approved your character, I assumed she at least had some kind of combat training. After reading your first post though and don't get me wrong, it's a fine post, but I went to take another look at your character and I think I might have assumed incorrectly. I know it's a bit of a hassle, but would it be all right if you edited your character to say that she was, say, a peacekeeper and also edit your post to reflect that? Doesn't have to be a peacekeeper, but SOME kind of badass, y'know? And no points for being modest, all Templars gotta be warriors without exception.

It's fine, that makes sense. I'll go edit my stuff now. 
 
All good except for one little detail and I hate to be a stickler about this, but the barrier around Scipio has been up for 8 years and that means no one in or out throughout that whole time. All the rescue missions and stuff that happened after the meteor, that happened within a space of days and I know I didn't mention that in the lore, but to be honest I didn't think much about it until just now. Anyways, more lore, those first few years since then would've been crazy chaotic what with the refugees having to adapt to a whole bunch of rules in a new environment, a sudden switch from the war torn ruins and wastelands that they're used to in the outside world. For peacekeepers assigned to the refugees, they would've had their hands full making sure that no more murder, theft and rape meant no more murder, theft and rape to these fine folks, who are not known as 'ferals' or 'remnants' without reason.

Ah, anyways, I've already approved your character. I guess I can accept it the way it is now and adapt the lore to fit her story, that is if you want. I guess, uh, I'll leave it up to you. Wanna make one more adjustment or just leave it as is? In any case, the lore will need updating some.
