Five Thousand Club

The first-year students, no matter their powers or reasons for admission, are funneled into the grand hall, second-year to fifth-year students already sitting at the various banquet tables. Headmaster Lorkan stands at the head of the hall, looking quite able with silvering black hair and a healthy stubble on his face. He watched the new students with a fatherly smile as they walked up to meet him. A decent-sized class, about one-and-a-half hundred.
"Welcome, children of magic, children of technology. I welcome you to Nierstal, my school. Here you will learn to harness the abilities you have, those that set you apart from the other humans of this world. The abilities that allow you to combat the Tecnomatics, and keep the earth safe. There are a few rules you must be made aware of before we allow you to sit."
"First, unsanctioned duels are prohibited, and can be cause for expulsion. If you have a dispute you must settle with a duel, search for a teacher or other staff member. They will assist you in setting up the virtual arenas safely." He continued, most of the rules being simple: Go to class, listen to staff, the normal school stuff.
"Finally, you will all be assigned to a team, who will be your family for the next five years. You will go to classes, practice, and take on missions together. You will be assigned team quarters, where you will have a communal area as well as individual rooms. If you would check the fortune cookie given to you when you arrived, it will give you your team number."
WIth that, the speech was over, and the older students began to eat. The first-years had been given a strange, clear box with a fortune cookie inside. The box had had no seams or other way to be opened. Until now, a click signalling the opening of the boxes. The newcomers all would look at their cookies, and notice that there was a table saved for each number. The students all went to what could only be the numbered table of their squad. All except for table number seven, which lay empty to this point.
[Okay all, please make your introduction post, heading to table seven... your cookies all have a piece of paper with the number seven on it. Feel free to do some chatting at the table also, if you wish]
