The first-year students, no matter their powers or reasons for admission, are funneled into the grand hall, second-year to fifth-year students already sitting at the various banquet tables. Headmaster Lorkan stands at the head of the hall, looking quite able with silvering black hair and a healthy stubble on his face. He watched the new students with a fatherly smile as they walked up to meet him. A decent-sized class, about one-and-a-half hundred.

"Welcome, children of magic, children of technology. I welcome you to Nierstal, my school. Here you will learn to harness the abilities you have, those that set you apart from the other humans of this world. The abilities that allow you to combat the Tecnomatics, and keep the earth safe. There are a few rules you must be made aware of before we allow you to sit."

"First, unsanctioned duels are prohibited, and can be cause for expulsion. If you have a dispute you must settle with a duel, search for a teacher or other staff member. They will assist you in setting up the virtual arenas safely." He continued, most of the rules being simple: Go to class, listen to staff, the normal school stuff.

"Finally, you will all be assigned to a team, who will be your family for the next five years. You will go to classes, practice, and take on missions together. You will be assigned team quarters, where you will have a communal area as well as individual rooms. If you would check the fortune cookie given to you when you arrived, it will give you your team number."

WIth that, the speech was over, and the older students began to eat. The first-years had been given a strange, clear box with a fortune cookie inside. The box had had no seams or other way to be opened. Until now, a click signalling the opening of the boxes. The newcomers all would look at their cookies, and notice that there was a table saved for each number. The students all went to what could only be the numbered table of their squad. All except for table number seven, which lay empty to this point.

[Okay all, please make your introduction post, heading to table seven... your cookies all have a piece of paper with the number seven on it. Feel free to do some chatting at the table also, if you wish]

Xavier walked into the entrance hall with a awed expression on his face. The hall was almost immediately crowed by a mass of kids. He pushed through, before sitting at his assigned table, the banquet was huge. With almost every food imaginable in plates made of the finest materials and goblets with the drinkers favorite drink, the school must've been very rich. Or the people must've been very powerful.

He glanced at a small clear box with a small fortune cookie resting on top of it. That's when a handsome man came out and started speaking. It turned out the man was the Headmaster. He listened on, until the man finished at sat back down with the rest of the school staff. The rules were simple enough, and the duel system was pretty straight forward. If you fight alone, you might end up killing or maiming a student, but with the duel system you can fight and when the fight goes to out of control you can be stopped.

Xavier liked it. He glanced once more at the fortune cookie, before grabbing it from the box, and breaking it. A single number was writted down on the paper, '7.' Xavier guessed that was his team or squad number. He glanced around, before eying the massive feast in front of him. With a growl of approval from his stomach, he dug in.

As Kyzaba walked through the halls of Technomatic School, several thoughts were being processed throughout his head. He knew that the school was full of intelligent people and thus there'd be a bounteous amount of fire-heat competition waiting for him in the future. Life was simple back then... but it would all change today. He believed his abilities to the max, he was one of the most recognized young brilliance in Japan.

Kyzaba walked into the entrance hall with little expression on his face. His seriousness took part and as he looked around, he realized that there were absolutely no one he was familiar with. With a nervous tug of his robe collar, he watched as the headmaster went up and started a speech. With a sigh, Kyzaba listened carefully as the headmaster continued his speech until it was finally over.

The first-year was full of potential and they were told to grab a fortune cookie and it would tell them their squad number. Kyzaba waited for the others to grab their cookies before he grabbed one closest to him which reads '7' when he cracked it open. He ate the rest of the dull cookie before heading over to the table number seven in which he sat by himself, lonely, waiting for the others so that the feast would start and so the new school year would begin.

After Xavier stuffed himself full, he turned around and glanced at a boy around his age, with glasses. He glanced at him, analyzing his movements, before turning away. He seemed about his equal. "Hello there. I'm Xavier, I'm guessing your new here as well. What team did you get?"

Sam walked nervously over to table seven, there was nobody he knew here. He carefully eyed the faces, wondering who he would become closest to, and trying to guess what the individuals would be like. Sam slowly sat down and peered over his box at the people around, not particularly inerested in the box right now, he was nervous and excited, he couldnt wait to have some fun.

Xavier turned around once more when he saw a shy boy sitting at table 7. He analyzed him, before smiling. "Hello, I'm Xavier." He said before pointing at the boy with the glasses. "I'm guessing your a first year just like us. I think, he is..but I don't know for sure. By the way, open your fortune cookie, it'll tell you what team your on."

Sam grinned "im sam!" he chirped, grinning, he thought xavier was a weird name, he hadn't heard anything like it before, he concluded that it was interesting, and his own name was boring. Sam pressed the button to open the box and curiously opened the cookie , eating the biscuit part as he read the piece of paper full of excitement.

Xavier winced at Sam's loudness, before holding his ear and laughing. "You got 7 right. All of us did. I think." Xavier pointed at the food. "You should eat, we have a long day ahead of us."

Kyzaba coughed after listening into the conversation that was being held by the two males in front of him. With a sigh, he decided to speak and point out their foolishness. "No point in seeing that paper." He said. "It would've been smart for both you to have seen the paper before coming to this table because you could've walked into a wrong team." He sighed. Perhaps my teammates are not the brightest of all students. He thought as he crossed his hands and rested his head on the palm of his right hand which rested above the surface of the dining table. What is taking everyone so long? He asked in his head.

Sam was confused as to how xavier knew so much, he looked at xavier as he thought. After that he began to eat some food, specifically the sweetest things available, he was very quiet, he wouldn't normally be like this, but he didn't feel like he knew anyone.

Xavier whipped around scowled at the boy. "If you haven't noticed, I never said that. Don't judge people, before getting to know them." He glared at him, before waving him off and turning to face Sam.

"Don't worry about him." Xavier smiled before pointing at a plate. "You should try that it taste great." He pointed out.

"By the way, I'm guessing that the entire first year will be put in team 7." Xavier smirked before looking up at Sam. "Call it a hunch."

Sam took a piece of the food xavier had pointed out and took a bite, he liked it, anything sweet was to sam's taste, "thats good, at least they have good school dinners, that isnt something i have experienced much." Sam chuckled, wondering what these people were like in combat.

Xavier grinned. "So are you a magic or a techno? I'm a elemental." He questioned before summoning a ball of fire the size of a golf ball. "I'm pretty good, seeing most kids that have elemental magic can't do what I'm doing." He smirked.

Kyzaba shook his head. "Well... Looks like someone can mind read." Kyzaba said with a grin as he was told not to judge people. "What part of my sentence gave you a clue as to me judging any of you. Simply stating the fact that you two should've read the paper did not necessarily mean I was judging you in anyway." He sighed as he took some food from the center of the table before taking a bite. "Try not to be so quick to jump to conclusions in the future." He finished as he started devouring the food slowly, enjoying the warmth, deliciousness, and tasty chicken that now has been reduced to a simple piece of bone.

(@LiteracyUnmatched Dunno how you could've seen that I was judging both of you... unless you have mind reading abilities which you obviously don't.)

Zin stood silently with the rest of the new students as an old man spoke in front of them. He felt the gazes of all the older students falling onto them, sizing them up. A small smile pulled at his lips as he leaned against a nearby wall. From somewhere below the tables a small silvery blur shot towards him and ran up his leg. When it stopped there was a small monkey perched on his left shoulder. Zin glanced at the monkey and gave it a small nod before the headmaster dismissed the students to their table. There seemed to be quiet a bit of hesitation as nobody wanted to make be the first one there but it didn't take long for hunger and excitement to get the better of whatever else there was going on inside people's heads and soon a sizable handful of people were taking seats.

As Zin followed suite he considered his peers before him. There seemed to be a growing chemistry between some already and he glanced again at his small companion before pulling up a chair next to man his age in a fine looking robe. Regarding the small confectionery before him, he picked it up and offered it to Sonic who hastily nibbled at it until all that was left where a few crumbs and a slip of paper with the number 7 imprinted on it. Just as he looked at it he happened to hear another student speak.

"By the way, I'm guessing that the entire first year will be put in team 7."

The comment wasn't addressed to him but he had no qualms about interjecting into the conversation. "Team seven then huh? That's a pretty catchy title what with the number and all." He said holding up his own number in a sort of display. It was pulled from his fingers and eaten by Sonic almost instantly. "Hey nice robes by the way." He mentioned, now addressing the boy next to him who he had noticed earlier. Sonic let out a chittering squeak of agreement before continuing on the piece of paper.

Kyzaba turned his head toward the person that had sat next to him just now. "Indeed." He said simply as he started chewing on a stick of corn cub. With a sigh, he looked up at the ceiling to check what was so bright and just like he expected, he saw that the overhead was full of blaring lights. Argh.... It's getting hot in here. He thought. And the amount of people plus food isn't helping. Then, the person spoke next again, complimenting on his robes. Once more, Kyzaba repeated his previous answer. "Indeed." He said before deciding to add a little line to it. "Unless you are sarcastic about your thoughts." He tugged at the collar of his robe before sighing and continuing on his food. "Have some food... we'd probably need the energy for the rest of the day." He said with a grumpy grunt before continuing to eat the food that lay in front of him.

@Yahtzee

Xavier waved the japanese boy off before turning around. "Team seven then huh? That's a pretty catchy title what with the number and all." Xavier turned his head at the voice. He chuckled before glancing at the boy. "Sure is.."

. "Guessing by the monkey. Your an Arcane user aren't you. You seem powerful. By the way, my names Xavier." He smiled offering him a hand shake.

(You said this :'It would've been smart for both you to have seen the paper before coming to this table because you could've walked into a wrong team.' I waited until the headmaster finished before cracking the fortune cookie all of us did, your comment was useless and both pointless. And my character got defensive, so yeah. Anyone would get defensive, the tone that you implied, was what gave it away. @Kyzaba)

Sam raised a small metalic fragment from a pouch by his side and let it float next to his hand, he didn't feel the need to answer the question, Sam was a weaponsmith, without question. He couldn't wait to go and fight, he was full of food and bored.

"Number 7, huh?"

Eleanor grinned at seeing her number before sauntering towards table number 7 where several boys were already seated.

"Hello boys~" she sing-songed as she claimed a seat for her own. She smirked at the guy who seemed to be baking in his own robes.

"You might want to take that off before you get cooked." she pointed out, before digging into the food.

@Kyzaba

Xavier laughed at the girls joke. "Wassup, my names Xavier." He started and pointed at Sam. "That's Sam he's a pretty nice guy, so is Monkey-boy over there." He paused before glancing back at him. "I'm sorry, I don't know your name, and you do have a monkey, that's why I called you that. Anyway the guy with the glasses their is pretty smart. He really doesn't like talking much, from what I've gathered."

'Is it over yet?'

'Hush Jonas. Behave.'
Sivent scolded the crimson bird on his shoulder. Jonas was a little smaller than most falcons, but his personality more than made up for his size. He broke the cookie open and saw the number 7. 'You can have this if you want' Sivent told Jonas, holding up the cookie. The bird immediately gobbled it up.

'Those taste awful.'

'I know, that's why I gave it to you.' Sivent made his way over to table 7. His constantly moving eyes caught glimpses of activity off to the sides. Friendships being formed, enemies made, people showing off. The usual to be expected at a new school. As he approached the table, he noticed a few of the people there already speaking. 'Jonas, do you see any other familiars? Maybe you should go.'

'I see a few. It's probably fine for me to stay. There's one right there' Jonas indicated a monkey that was at his table

Sivent nodded, and sat down and loaded up his plate. He noticed others introducing themselves and listened. If this was going to be his family for the next five years, he should probably know them by name.

It was the first day for some, well a minority really, of the people in the great big hall of eating, and of course, as is custom in schools whether normal or otherwise, people were nervous. No one really knew where that anxiety came from exactly, if it was the fear of meeting new people, the fear of messing up some time during the year, the fear of dying considering people actually did fight somewhere at some time, but it stood that some if not most of the new populace were afraid of something, and so acted with a sense of caution befitting people who would one day fight another in the same room for their very survival

"People!" Apparently someone forgot to tell Cynthia that. "Where are all my cookies?" She almost cried as she pulled a piece of paper from her mouth and threw it away after giving it a glance. Cookies were supposed to be edible, damn it! If you were just going to crush the sweet, sweet cookie and throw it away, there was no point to it! All she had been given was a single stupid cookie, and she couldn't even eat it! Oh well~ there was always the food at the table, though one should pay respects to those sitting with her at...

"Table 7? Just between 1 and 10 then." She shrugged, practically appearing at an empty seat, before eating... or should we say inhaling the food before her. The people around her weren't going anywhere any time soon, and there was no real need to talk to them immediately, so food took priority.

Besides, it was so good~

Sivent jumped as a girl seemed to appear in a seat close to his and start wolfing down food.

'By the way, there's someone coming'

'Oh, ha... You're hilarious.'

'Think of it as payback for giving me that cookie.'

'Just stop talking please...'
Sivent shook his head, and then turned towards the girl that had appeared. "Hi, what's your name?" He asked, before realizing that her mouth was full of food. "Oh, sorry."
