Korbin smiled as his closest in age brother, Aarin hugged him. "You're going to have a great time at Hogwarts. Things shouldn't have changed much since Luke and I were there. Get into as much trouble as you can." The Gryffindor grinned. "Luke will say otherwise, but he's a 'Puff and they tend to behave better."

Korbin laughed and shook his head. "You can tell him that yourself. I think Hufflepuffs are just as good at misbehaving. You got the same number of complaint letters. Mom was telling me stories about both of you the other day." He knew both of them were in their twenties and almost thirty for Luke, but their parents still remembered a lot. And had kept scrapbooks of each year they were in Hogwarts.

"Alright, boys. No more playing around. It's time to floo over. Aarin, then Korbin, then your father and I will follow." Marie Wendz shrank the trunk and settled it in her pocket for later. Aarin nodded and went through, quickly followed by his young brother and their mother last. "Good. All parts here, including your kitten. Make sure you have a name for him by the time you send your first letter."

"I know, mum, but not just any name is good enough for him."
Korbin reminded. He had rescued his kitten last week and it was now his, nameless though it may be. He planned on making whatever friends he made at Hogwarts on the train help him out.

"Then let's get you onto the train and settled in a compartment." Aarin grinned and floated Korbin's trunk out of the pocket with a simple flick of his wand. Korbin grabbed it before Aarin could take it.

"No, I've got it. I'll see you at winter break. Tell dad and Luke I'm sorry they couldn't be here, but I'll see them then." He hugged his mother, then his brother before dashing onto the train, trunk still in his hand. He moved up and down the hall, looking for an empty compartment. He was a little bit later than he had originally planned, so there weren't any completely empty compartments, but that was okay with him. He could go through this and have fun with whoever he met. He knocked on the door of one compartment, seeing they were a bit quieter.

"Hi! Do you mind if I join you in your compartment? I've just arrived and I'm looking for a place to hang out. I'm Korbin Wendz." He blinked and looked down as he held out his hand, shrunken trunk still in it. "Oh...and perhaps someone to unshrink my trunk. Oops!"

OOC: Please enjoy Korbin!

Timothy couldn't wait for the students to arrive. It was often quite boring until he got to teach. His disease prevented him from doing too much physical labor, so much of his time wasn't spent doing much. He surely missed his time as a Quidditch Player. He was set to go pro before the disease, although his interest in his years at Hogwarts had brought him towards teaching the history of magic.
He did enjoy talking about history in general and one wouldn't be able to get him to stop talking once he began however he could be serious when the time came.
He didn't really have much to do currently so he decided to make his way to the staffroom. Hopefully he could chat up another one of the professors. He made it a habit to try to get to know each of the other staff at Hogwarts. He really believed in not being a stranger and always being reliable where he could be. As he made his way to the stafroom he noticed another one of the professor's Ivory Bright. She was the Muggle Studies teacher. Timothy wasn't the greatest expert on Muggles but sometimes they invented or did things that were quite interesting to hear about. Being that Muggles were a much more plentiful race than Wizards, they tended to leave large marks of history on the world and Timothy was always interested in hearing about it.

"Ah Ivory! How are you today? Enjoying a read on a good subject?" He said entering the room.
He did notice that there was a house elf cleaning the fireplace. Timothy didn't bother to own any House Elves, He really figured he needed to keep himself busy because if he had a house elf doing everything for him then he would surely wither away and be unable to move his muscles with his disease. He knew they could be helpful but he preferred to keep himself mobile as possible to hopefully extend his health as long as he could.

Ivory had been sitting alone sipping her drink and Timothy hoped he wasn't intruding. Still he thought that it would be better for everyone to converse. Perhaps he could pick her mind about the coming students or about a subject regarding their classes.

Kat couldn't help it. She looked like a second year due to her size and it wasn't likely to change any time soon. The healers said her heart shouldn't have issues any more but her size would likely not catch up to her classmates any time soon, if ever. It was the sad truth but at least it didn't stop her from doing all the things she enjoyed. Next to Eden, she did look like she should be mistaken for her younger sister instead of close friend. It was the same with just about every 7th year she knew.

"I didn't need one this time! For once. Chester and Marcus only had to remind me like three times and we only had to go back for my trunk once this year!" She crowed in victory. "Aw, don't cry, Eden! Don't be sad cause it's going to be a great train ride and an amazing year, even without Milo stalking us on the train! I know we'll have the best time together with him when we get to Hogwarts and even if it's our last year, we're still going to have fun this year and be friends after we graduate. We're best friends! Nothing's going to change that! Next year will be amazing and we can all three finally live together in the same place and have jobs that might not be anywhere near each other but still have fun together when we aren't working!" She promised brightly. She always did look on the bright side of everything. It was a truly Kat thing.

"Aren't we always in trouble? A party won't really change that." Kat laughed and nodded. "Oh! You should and we'll bring Milo so he can relax before he has to start telling us things are bad ideas or suggesting his own bad ideas and being all joking about it! We can make this the best last year for all three of us!" She promised with a grin as a first year came in. He looked shy, nervous, with gorgeous puffy hair she couldn't help but admire. Her own was a wild forest of curls, but there was something about other people's hair that simply fascinated her to no end.

"Hi!" She grinned again as yet another newcomer joined them. She didn't recognize either of them, so both were likely first years, but she couldn't say much given how little she looked her own age. Especially as she usually wore bright pink when she wasn't in uniform. "I'm Kat and this is Eden and apparently Mr. Nervous. I like your hair." She grinned and looked between them. "I like your poof and your super blonde hair is super pretty too. We're seventh years and you both look like first years. I'm in Gryffindor and Eden's in Hufflepuff with our other best friend, Milo, but he's a prefect, so he's not going to sit with us this year." She made a face. "Oh, and the toad is Artie. He's pretty awesome and he's super nice to new friends unless you're mean to him, so don't be mean to him because we like him. Do either of you have any pets? I don't but we both take Care of Magical Creatures, which is the best class to take once you get into third year. You should definitely take it with Professor Daya, who's brilliant!" She was rambling, as always, but Eden was at least used to it by now.

This would be the first time that eleven year old Molly "Gadget" Miller would be without a piece of technology in her hands, and oh LORD she was already having withdrawals!

Okay, she got it. Those wouldn't have worked at the school anyway, but being without them was like a parent leaving their precious kids behind for a while! This was going to be tough, but Gadget would find a way to persevere through this! She bade each of her precious pieces of tech goodbye before she left the house with her parents to the station, and before she knew it her trunk was already on board along with her kitty buddy Gizmo, and she was headed to this magical school for the first time ever. Sure, she was excited, but mostly nervous. Or, was it mostly excited and a little nervous? Her mood flipped flopped just like her stomach did as she walked down the train carriage to find a seat to chill out for the ride ahead.

Huh, seemed like compartments three and four were packed full, should she make an entrance into one of them? Or maybe the less filled compartments of one and two? Ah man, she hated always being so indecisive! Well...she had a good feeling about the number two, so compartment number two it was! She hopped over to that particular compartment, her side ponytail bobbing a bit atop her head as she did so, and peeked into the window of it. Bright green eyes spotted three guys within, already settling in it seemed. Would these blokes mind if a first year girl sat with them? One of them looked a bit older than herself, but the other two seemed to appear to be first years, just as she was.

Well, nothing ventured, nothing gained as they say.

Feeling nervous but bold, Gadget opened the door to the cabin with a sweep of her arm, her other hand on her hip as she grinned to the other students widely.

"Heeeeeeya, boys! Mind if I join ya for the ride to magic school?"

Once again it was time for a new year at Hogwarts, and just as she did so long ago as a child and teenager, Emily felt excited and optimistic about going back to work. This had been her dream career since she had gone to school, she adored Divination and felt like she had won the lottery when she got the position. Her dream had come true, but she worked very hard to get it, her drive and ambition in addition to studying the subject day in and day out got her what she wanted most. Well, aside from finding a...oh, she didn't have time to think about her nonexistent lovelife, as sad as that sounded in her head! It was time to get to Hogwarts!

Within a couple of hours she arrived at the school and into her office via floo powder, a bit of a messy exit but she recovered fine and dusted most of the soot off...mostly. She wanted to take some time to get organized and settled in for a few moments, and the thought of checking out the staff room crossed her mind. She wasn't the most sociable person, in fact she was pretty shy around the other professors, though funny enough she was more talkative towards the students in her class, perhaps because she loved sharing the subject of Divination with them. Well, it couldn't hurt to head over there and see who was here already. She grabbed her course curriculum and headed over to the staff room, noting how quiet the halls were for now, but later she knew they would be packed full with bright eyed students ready to learn.

Goodness, it felt a lifetime ago when she herself walked this halls as a First Year student. It almost felt like a distant dream.

She snapped herself out of her thoughts and headed into the staff room to see Professor Green and Professor Bright already inside. She paused and smiled sheepishly, her voice soft but gentle and kind.

"Good morning, Professor Green, Professor Bright. I hope I'm not interrupting anything."

This had to be the most troubling and frustrating case that Tristan ever had the displeasure of trying to solve, and to think this Task Force started barely over a month ago, but to him it felt much longer than that. Sure, he had been an Auror for five years which was pretty decent, but he felt he still had much to learn, it was an ever evolving experience to be sure. Then again, that's why he chose this career: it was thrilling and filled him with a sense of purpose, helping to catch dangerous criminals and put them away forever, keeping the magical world safe. But with this latest case involving this Phalanx group, things were going at a snail's pace as far as finding out any useful information or clues, and Tristan felt very apprehensive as time went on and their searches turned up empty.

He would hope for the best, but prepare for the absolute worst.

His high society parents still kept trying to coax him to just quit and come back home, but of course the blonde was just too stubborn to accept defeat. He did consider using some of his family's resources and contacts to help with this case, but he wasn't sure how Bryony would feel about that. And besides, his parents might not be willing to allow him to do such things. Still, things were getting desperate and Tristan at least was running out of ideas. If he had to go behind his family's back and see what contacts and resources he could use to the Task Force's advantage, so be it. He wanted his team to succeed, he wanted to catch this foul group as soon as possible. With a covered hot cup of coffee in his hand, he walked into the building and straight to Bryony's office, seeing that most of the team had already gathered within. He nodded to them after having a sip of his coffee to wake himself up, genial and polite as usual.

"Good morning, everyone. Hopefully our luck will turn for the better today."

Devon sat alone in his own office with tears in his eyes. Two had gone missing, two contacts, two friends. He never dealt with the loss of humanity so well, and it seemed to hurt him more with each passing day. From his days as an investigator in the private circles, he had many great friends who he had used to track leads across the entire globe; however, they were gone. Their houses were full, wands and brooms left alone. It was if they had just vanished. These were unknown to those outside the ministry. All he gained from the loss of these people were sadness, dead ends, and knowledge Bryony already had. He had nothing new to offer. The Phalanx stayed at large, and Devon was growing disconcerted. It all reminded him too much of the Ministry’s failure to track down You-Know-Who. History was repeating itself, and Devon could not deal with the loss of more and more people.

His sleeve wiped the tears off his face, and Devon attempted to portray that strength and wisdom he was known for being the most senior member of the taskforce. Even in his darkest moments, such as this, the man was able to slide on a smile and a jolly laugh to elevate those around him. As he moved through the halls to Bryony’s office, he flashed casual conversation to those around them. His presence filled his vicinity with a pure joy that seemed almost magical. When he entered her office, he swung the door open with such jovial energy that it collided against the wall with a loud CRACK!!! Around him, he glazed over who had already shown and gave a general greeting in his inviting tenor that was his voice, “Friends! It is so good to see you all! James, so strong. Bryony, so tactful. James, so methodical. Tristan, so hopeful! And you, Rhiannon, are new and so young. I see that look in your eye! You will bring us closer to a victory. I can see it in our future. He let out a great laughing howl, shaking the hand of each member of the task force before taking a stand in the righthand corner of the room. You could tell his discontent to not inform them of his failure. He was truly scared in this moment despite his demeanor portraying someone so confused. The mask was well drawn, but Devon suspected that Bryony may be able to read his disappointment beneath.

Returning from an unsuccessful capture today, Horus bumbled his way through the ministry, a ragged dump of a man, dressed in only the fineries of the homeless population and a frayed mop of hair. It was hard to believe that anybody in the ministry respected the man at all. The aura around him seemed to be that of defeat and weakness despite the strong will within his eyes. The conflict of a broken body carrying a half-man. Beside him walked a wolf, silver as the moon’s reflection with a deep blue morning in its eyes. The creature walked in the same defeated manner as its master, a deep sadness within its eyes as if It could feel its own master’s heart. Where they walked, the air around them seemed to cool a few degrees.

Beyond him, people whispered about the wolf that hunts wolves. No grace was to be had in his presence. He was, to them, an anomaly, a freakshow, a clown worth a visit. His time in the ministry had thus made him jaded to those around him who was already a bumbling mess in the social realm. Then, he saw someone he hadn’t seen since his third year at Hogwarts; however, she was different in his memory. So much different, but he knew that was Eliana Moore. He knew she wouldn’t remember him at all. He was just a ragged underling in Gryffindor when she was in seventh year. Despite this, Horus approached the board where she sat next to.

For a few moments, he just stood there, in silence. His eyes glazed over news that he didn’t really care for. In a sharp and subtle stutter, he turned to her and spoke, “H-H-H-H-ello there. Just as he spoke, his eyes twitched a little bit: a nervous tick picked up from socializing with strangers. In that moment, his badge flashed with the stutter to reveal the “Werewolf Captu-“ insignia without unveiling the whole text. That must have been the most he had spoken to someone in weeks. The soft voice remained in the air for a few seconds while he looked at her and waited for a response. The wolf looked up, ears perked at the thought of conversation. Horus was not in his element. Perhaps the only part of him that could spark any conversation was left when he was bitten.

The book wasn’t something new for Elliot. He had read it quite a few times in the past, but there were always new facts to find in old books. Rereading them could bring about a new point of view, or could prove a new detail once forgotten. And speaking of;

Elliot took the time to produce a fountain pen from a messenger bag that hung from his shoulder. Of course, it was sitting on the bench beside him, but it was still wrapped over his chest. Fountain pens weren’t something of the magical world necessarily, but some of his mother’s muggle blood did bring advantages into his life. Despite usually living as the average wizard, quills and ink weren’t necessarily efficient.

He was only thankful that Thomas was leaning against his recessive arm.

After scribbling a note onto the blank space beside some of the text with a bit of difficulty, Elliot tucked the pen behind his ear. Thomas was proving to be incredibly cuddly at the moment— something that often bothered Elliot when their mother wasn’t around to distract the youngest of the Oakes brothers. At least he was being quiet.

He turned the page of his book— an old and worn read about various preservation methods of preservation for organic life. Drying wasn’t his preferred interest, but it still was a bit interesting to read about.

Duamutef was the first to look up at the newcomer in the compartment, his ear twitching once at the girl’s question. He didn’t seem very happy with the turn of events, but he did hop onto the bench beside Elliot to curl up and sleep for a bit. The addition of the new cat didn’t seem to interest him at all, and he already wasn’t very fond of Imseti, so he didn’t seem to be interested in interacting.

Elliot, however, barely glanced in Rin’s direction. Ugh. Not another person. They’d just gotten away from those two that were fighting in the last compartment, and Elliot was really hoping for things to keep quiet…

Though, if she was willing to keep her mouth shut, or at least talk with Thomas in hushed tones, Elliot was sure he could probably manage. Thomas had already invited her to join anyway, so it wasn’t like Elliot had the opportunity to tell her to leave like he would have had he been alone. Or if he could have beaten his younger brother to the punch.

Unfortunately, he was stuck in this unpleasant circumstance.

Sighing, Elliot removed his foot from the seat across from himself and settled for glancing out of the window beside himself for a moment. He didn’t seem interested in interactions, just as his cat didn’t either, but he did go back to reading just after watching a small patch of trees pass by.

Harriette smiled at Briar when she arrived, the expression warm and, as always, in utter contrast to her own.

"Good Morning, prof. I am surprised, I half expected you to send your little house elf to pick up it up. Not have to wallow in the dirt of the greenhouse," she remarked, shrugging as she picked out a few more herbs. "Shows what i know I guess. Don't worry I will have your order ready in a couple of minutes, you do not have to wait long."

Briar's epxression darkened- the thinly veiled insult grated on her, making her wish that she had sent Jaldy to get the herbs. It was no secret that the two Heads of House didn't exactly see eye-to-eye on most things, but Briar was trying to be respectful by coming to fetch the supplies herself. If she had known it would backfire and merely lead to immediate insults from the Herbology teacher, she wouldn't have bothered.

"Thank you," she said in her measured voice, sounding as unruffled as ever. "I appreciate your assistance."

She waited patiently as the plants were collected. Harriette then handed her the small basket with a "Here we are, all present. I even added some decorative flowers to beautiful dank dungeon of yours. In your house colours of course. Enjoy."

The smallest of frowns creased Briar's brow at the mention of her 'dank dungeon'- the only evidence of an emotional reaction. True to her usual manner, she merely nodded, gave her thanks again, and turned to leave. The frown remained with her all the way back up to the castle.

When she reached her classroom again, she handed the house-elf the small bouquet of flowers and said with distaste "Jaldy, please dispose of these."

"At once, Mistress Amaranth," the elf politely complied, aware of his employer's dislike for things like pretty flowers. Briar proceeded to restock the storage cupboard with the herbs from the basket, and then pondered what to do with it once it was empty.

Should I have Jaldy send it back? she wondered, as reticent to prove Harriette right as she was to subject herself to more insults. She stared darkly at the small wicker half-moon, unusally distracted from her work.

"I can, yes." She agreed softly. How strange. Most people would be expected to talk, bond, or interact in some way on the train. It was strange to think he wouldn't want to talk at all for the entire length of the train ride. Oh, she could do it, but it was still a strange expectation, especially of an older student. She shrugged and brought her stuff in anyway, gently placing Midna on her lap as she sat down.

"My name is Rin Lavasier." She introduced with a small smile. "The cat is Midna. She's very friendly." She promised Tommy, speaking softly to avoid bothering Elliott. She could speak softly with Tommy as long as he was interested in communicating with her. Otherwise it would be a strange ride indeed. Maybe the older one was a Ravenclaw. They were supposed to be the ones who read up on anything and everything. Midna, on the other hand, was exploring the scents around her, curious and all cat. She was simply smelling everything right now as she looked at the compartment they were in.

Rin kept a hand on the cat's back, just in case. She didn't want to give any reason to be tossed from the compartment. Especially not with how picky the one seemed to be.

"The hell?" Rashaad grumbled in his usual and (so Anori felt) endearing manner, waving his wand at her. "Don't you have someone else you could be bothering, you brat? Or maybe setting up your own classroom? Drinking the blood of innocents?" Anori giggled. She was the oldest person in the castle but, as she looked and acted very young, it felt natural for the cantankerous professor to treat and address her so- she found it even more endearing, and the irony simply delightful. She rolled her eyes as he smirked at her.

"You know as well as I do, my dear Rashaad, that there are no innocents at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. And to answer your question, I'm already done setting up my classroom and thought I'd offer to help you with yours." She twirled her wand to demonstrate, and one of the posters twitched.

At that moment, the Arithmancy professor walked in, greeting them both in her usual cheerful manner, and Rashaad made his expected grumbly reply.

"Is this a damn free for all now? You too? Conspiring against me. Well, my summer was nice and quiet. Wrote some stuff, published an article, ate a few small children, and was left alone." Anori laughed, enjoying the irony in the words.

"Eating small children? Isn't that my job?" She grinned wolfishly, flashing her fangs. Rashaad raised an eyebrow in Lynda's direction.

"And your summers? Went home, lit things on fire, mocked tiny children and the like?"

"Same as ever, really," Anori airily declared, twirling her wand as she did so to stick a poster to the wall. "Did some reading, some travelling, took a lot of naps..." At that moment, she yawned ostentatiously. It was pure coincidence, but it illustrated her point rather well. Though she could make herself stay awake during the day (and indeed had to in order to teach), she couldn't help but feel drowsy when the sun was out, naturally predisposed as she was towards being active at night.

In fact, she'd often gotten teased on the fact that she picked the wrong subject and should've applied to be the Astronomy professor instead, but she always replied and maintained that she loved Charms too much, that she found the stars distant and cold, and that watching them all night long just made her sad.

Turning towards the new arrival herself, she smiled, curious and eager.

"And you, Lynda? How was your summer?" she asked brightly, eyes twinkling at the Arithmancy professor.

Imogen had rushed to the train station very early that morning in her small town in Ireland. When she reached the farthest eastern point of the island, she took a communal fireplace used by the wizarding community. From there, she ended up in the Leaky Cauldron. "Hello, Mrs. Faines!" She peeked her head around the end of the fireplace. A blonde woman smiled kindly at her, polishing one of the bar glasses. "Hello to you too, Miss Malley. And I've told you, it's Sarah." Imogen smiled abashedly. "I kenna do tha', Mrs. Faines. Ye see, I ben taught ta treat my authoritative figures with 'respect'. And ye dun nothin' but be deservin' a tha." Why don't you eat a little something before heading off?" She shook her head. "I had beans on toast, ma'am, but I thank ye for ye more than kind offer." Sarah smiled sadly. "That's not much of a meal, dear. Now, I can have a rasher and a few eggs fried up for you in a few seconds." She blushed in response. "No, no ma'am, I couldn't-" "Please," Sarah said. "Sit." And so she sat obediently and waited for her forced meal.

Another hour later, she was off to the races! Or, more accurately, to Hogwarts. Her 5th year was just about to start, and now she was a Prefect! 'Not exactly sure why they chose me, I am a troublemaker after all. Maybe because of my good grades?' She clambered aboard the train, her trunks floating behind her. There were many 'excuse me's and 'pardon, Prefect, coming through's. She finally stopped in front of the Prefect compartment she had passed so many times before. There were already a smattering of people. Probably all the other Prefects, in fact. She nudged the door open to the large area of the train and her two trunks fell on either side of her. She wore black ripped jeans, leather combat boots, a jean jacket, a white baseball cap that has "bby" written in silver Sharpie, and a black shirt that says on the front, "i might be baby" and on the back (conveniently covered) it says "but i can still kick your ass". Her brown hair was in it's usual ponytail. "Don't worry lads and lasses, you can start the party now! I'm finally here," she said jokingly. "Anyways, I thought I heard some craic about Quidditch an the like? I'll have you know that the House Cup is ours, mind me an Dane have anythin ta do wit it." She sidled over to the aforementioned in a friendly manner. Out of nowhere, it seemed, Morrigan slunk in behind her, probably from staking out where the two girls her owner liked were.

The soft chuckle that escaped the taller girl's mouth was genuine. Kat had her ways of easing her worries and making her feel warm and loved. Eden wanted to wrap her into a warm hug again but as more people entered the train, the chances they were to be joined soon increased. Not that she minded at all. Just as she crossed her ankles over each other, a student came in with hesitant, nervous energy. The kind of energy Eden would never forget. Quite the opposite of the energetic and brazen girl who entered without much of a glance back towards the two older girls. This caused Eden's smile to brightened just a little more. The spark in their eyes gave her new energy. Before the tall girl could speak, Kat opened her mouth and produced a word waterfall so fierce, the Hufflepuff was almost admiring how so many words could escape such a slight girl. Introduction of her and Milo with the mention of her toad even warmed Eden's cheek but not with embarrassment. This was our little Kat, full of energy and kindness. Often saying things before she could think them through. Standing up to her full height was a bit... much. She felt self-conscious as she stood and ushered the more nervous of the two newcomers to a seat. But she wanted the younger, dark-skinned boy to feel welcomed in their little compartment full off oddities. "Come, sit down here. We have plenty of room. I am Eden, as Kat pointed out. We both are pretty excited about the new year. Please, introduce yourselves. No need to be shy, Kat is really the best ice breaker out there."

Eden took her seat back down and settled in. She gave Kat a reassuring pat on her shoulder- a signal of warmth and pride she had in the vicious woman. Almost complete opposites and yet bonded for years by friendship. This year... She would have to tell her the secret she is keeping close to her chest... all the secrets. Her eyes blurred as she took in the first years in front of them. The white of the girl's hair blended with the pinkness of her cheeks as she looked on. Similarly, the boy dubbed Mr. Nervous features became less pronounced. She blinked in an attempt to adjust her contacts. Opening them, she was happy to see their clear images before her. "Now, now, we cannot call you Mr. Nervous. I can tell, you are pretty brave arent you? You kind of remind me of Kat when I first met her, you know. Shocking as it is, she didn't immediately word vomit our introduction when I met her. It was more like... 2 minutes after I said hi." The taller girl nudged Kat's shoulder playfully with her own.

Mood: Anxious yet Amused

Penelope Webber woke that morning not to the sound of her alarm, but to the sound of a light repitition of taps on plastic, it getting more rapid by the second and louder. As the girl blinked sleepiness from her eyes and turned to her side she saw the cause of the noise. There was Ramone, flapping its wings and furiously trying to get in the very closed window. With a groan the girl sat up and said, "Alright, alright, you damn bird. I'll let you in." Standing up she threw the window open much to Ramone's delight and to Penny's displeasure at the gust of fall wind that made it's way into her bedroom. Shivering the girl closed the window once again and proceeded to stretch and look about her currently pristine room, remembering what that day was. Hogwarts again already? She mused Another year of tutoring people I don't know and taking classes on things I don't care about. Joy. At least it's my last year.

As Penny went to organize her trunk once more, making sure everything she needed was in it, she heard a light knock at her bedroom door. Her mother walked in with a small smile, "Robin is at the door waiting for you dear. Are you sure you don't want me to drive you to the station?" Penny chuckled, that was her mother, always the worrier. "Don't worry mum, I'll be fine, I already have everything see? And you need to get to your shop anyways, isn't today the day you get your biggest shipment of books?" Penny's mother smiled and nodded before saying, "Well alright if you are certain, you know how worried I get about my little girl" After a few more minutes of motherly coddling and a short farewell from her father Penny made her way out of the house to see her best friend Robin. She was a girl on the taller side with blonde hair and brown eyes and at least 5 peircings. She wore a pristine beauxbaton's uniform, her having to floo to school after she drove Penny to the station.

"Yo dork, ya ready to go to your fancy train?" Penny scoffed at this before saying, "About as ready as you are for you;re fancy french boarding school" Robin seemed to chuckle at this as they both got into her car. The ride was enjoyable, the two singing along to punk bands and reminiscing about their summer until they reached the train station. Before Penny got out however Robin grabbed her arm, "Remember to write girlie. That goes for all of us not just me, otherwise I will kick your head girl ass to next year" Penny laughed and said, "Got it got it" before heading onto the train, rolling her trunk along to the Prefect's carriage. To say that Penny was showing herself more this year was an understatement. Where years before she would settle on light pink sweaters and grey tanks she decided to show a little bit of personality at least for the beginning of this year. The girl wore a black shirt with Peach Pit written in pink bubble letters across the top. Her nose ring was firmly in place, and she had taken the time to put her hair in twin space buns. Taking a deep breath she went to enter the Prefects' carraige.

Catching the tail end of Imogen's sentence the girl walked in with a chuckle and said, "Hey everyone"

Ivory recognized the particular sound of Timothy's gait as he approached the staffroom. His levitation sickness made it so he was almost perpetually off-balance, as if walking on solid ground was, for him, like walking on a moving wooden bridge or wave of sand. He greeted her enthusiastically as always- the two of them had had many interesting conversations over the course of their shred tenure at Hogwarts, mostly centered around muggles' place in Wizarding history.

"Ah Ivory! How are you today? Enjoying a read on a good subject?" he asked geneially as he entered the room.

She smiled at him and held up the book to show him- it said 'Tintin au pays de l'or noir'.

"Indeed I am," she replied with matching enthusiasm."These muggle comic books are quite entertaining."

She gestured for him to take the seat across from her.

"So how was your summer?" she pleasantly enquired, putting down the book and offering toast from her plate.

At that point, the Divination teacher arrived, greeting them softly and politely as always.

"Good morning, Professor Green, Professor Bright. I hope I'm not interrupting anything." Ivory rose from her seat at once, grinning broadly.

"Of course not, Emily," she declared, "Come, sit, join us!" She forcefully plopped the other instructor down in the seat she'd just vacated. "Have some toast," she offered, gesturing at the plate. She then noticed a small smudge of ash on her cheek, and proceeded to wipe it off with her robe.

"Really, Emily," she tutted like an overbearing mother, "just because you're the Divination teacher, it doesn't mean you have to fit the distracted stereotype!" She fussed with her colleague's robes, taking the course syllabus from her hands. "And how many times do I have to tell you it's Ivory and Timothy?" she added with a not-so-subtle grin- it was hard to tell if she was acting more like a friend who couldn't mind their own business or like a nosy older sister. Either way, she had vowed the previous year to set Emily up with one of the other professors, and she damn sure intended to make good on her word.

Mood: Anxious, Nervous, Unsure

Theodore woke from his slumber at an ungodly hour that morning. The streetlamps had already been turned out on his street and the only light was the hazy glow of his digital clock, which read 2:00 AM. Anxiety had been clawing at him since the previous day about this wizarding school. This night was no different. He tossed and turned thinking about how impossible it seemed. Him? A wizard? It was preposterous. Wizards were the things of fairy tale books that he had long ago discarded. And yet here he was. He was a wizard, grandson of a witch. And tomorrow he would officially leave his muggle friends behind to go to a wizarding boarding school.

Fidgeting, the boy finally sat up and clicked on his light. He had been sitting for his anxious thoughts for at least an hour and craved the company of Ares. Walking to the glass enclosure with sock clad feet he retrieved Ares the gecko from his favorite rock, mumbling apologies as he did. He then proceeded to sit for a while, allowing Ares to crawl on him before he put Ares back and returned to slumber. When he awoke again he found himself groggy and looked around at his sunny room, knowing it was almost time to leave. And so the boy sat up and went to his mostly cleared off desk and looked at the clothes he had picked out the day before. He knew he had to change into his uniform but he wanted to make a good impression on the train, hopefully find a new friend. And so he pulled on his white button up and jeans. Yet he felt awfully plain so he dug around in his trunk until he found it. A sweater of cobalt blue, one with holes on the sleeves from anxious fidgeting. On the left sleeve he saw a patch his friend had helped him sew on, a pair of white wings sewn to cover up an old hole from when it got caught on a tree branch during his nature walks. The sweater was ratty but it reminded him of home, and he knew he would need that on the train. Pulling Ares from his travel enclosure, he held him in the palm of his hand as he went downstairs, his trunk and enclosure in tow. After a teary farewell from his mother and father, his grandmother drove them to the station.

As Theo stood in awe of the train his grandmother turned him around. She was a lady sharp of wit and with eyes a cold ice blue, much like his. "I do think it's best you get on the train now dear. Remember to send us letters. I know this is all very scary for you but trust me, Hogwarts is a good place. It was like a second home to me" Theodore at this turned his lips into a nervous smile and said, "Thank you grammy, I love you" And with a hug he went off, tugging his trunk along. All the compartments he had passed so far had been way too dreadfully full for his liking but he didn't want to end up alone. He figured he would at least try and make a friend, for his grandmother's sake if not his own. And so there he stood at the last full compartment he saw and anxiously knocked. His breath caught in his throat as he realized he had interrupted a conversation. He quickly stuttered out, "Ah, I'm... I'm sorry for interrupting. I was just wondering if its okay if I sit here?" His face seemed to turn pink in embarrassment and he seemed to focus on Ares more, the leopard gecko having been crawling around his hand in a way that soothed him.

Sabrina Riverwood - 7th year Slytherin
Location : Wandering the halls of the train

Sabrina was beginning to wonder if any of her classmates would notice that she’d refrained from seating herself, or that she’d forgone the 7th year cabins entirely. She wasn’t entirely sure why she felt such a strong hesitation to surround herself with the others, only that she was far from ready to face the truth of the coming year. Since arriving at Hogwarts, her life had become something beautiful, even if her parents were breathing down her neck about ensuring the best grades possible in her final year.

At least where that was concerned, she felt little worry. Academics had always been easy for her, especially since the other purebloods in her House tended to avoid her because of her mixed blood. It didn’t matter, she was still the heir to her family fortune.

The sounds of the younger students chattering animatedly in the compartments around her made for excellent background noise as Selina wandered aimlessly through the train. She could hear the old Trolley Lady asking children if they wanted to buy sweets further down, and the steady music of the moving train. They were sounds that had grown familiar, comforting even, in the last six years.

And they were sounds she’d never hear again, not once she disembarked the train at the year’s end.

Through the hazy glass of a window, Sabrina watched the countryside fly past, and found herself wondering if this year would go by just as quickly as the year before. She hoped not, but refused to wish.

Magic was real, it flowed through her veins and filled her world, but she knew better than to believe in miracles.

Eliana twitched her hand as someone came up next to her, slightly surprising her. She didn't grab her wand, but she wasn't about to start anything, especially not in the middle of the Ministry. He surprised her even more when he spoke to her. They were eye to eye, the same height right now. He was a bit scruffy, likely having been on a job before arriving here. Strange. He was the one with the wolf, not that she remembered his name. He worked for the Department of Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, and he looked familiar otherwise, but she couldn't quite recall. Hogwarts, definitely, but he wasn't a Ravenclaw. Nor a Slytherin. She didn't keep up with the news much unless it related to research but perhaps he had been in the news as well? She wasn't sure.

"Gryffindor, right? You were a few years behind me." She remembered that after a moment. Her voice was a bit lower than originally anticipated but she was simply happy magic was able to help her sound female to match her appearance now. "I apologize. I don't recall your name. Or your wolf." She informed softly, looking to the follower.

It wasn't a werewolf, but there was something different about the canine. She wasn't sure what, but it must be interesting if her fellow ministry worker was escorted by it. Perhaps a story for later, something she could research later. She wanted to check in the ministry records at the very least. There was sure to be some story about him. Something important.

Vivianne walked the halls of the ministry of magic wearing burgundy robes of the french more form fitting style, several parchments in her gloved left hand. She walked with her head held high with a confident stride but paid no heed to anyone around her as long as long they remained out of her way. They mostly all did knowing who she was and her reputation and she preferred it that way as she had little but contempt to the people here.

The English Ministry of Magic did not deserve the title, filled to the brim with nothing but isolationist mud bloods, mugglelovers and apologist. Even the few traditional pure bloods were not worthy of their high status, cowards to a man. Quick to bitch and moan about the state of things here but to cowed by the others or to worried about their own status to do anything about it. The english in general, she expected so much more from a country with once so high a reputation for its class it is anything put. No refinement or style, she even doubted they followed basic cleanliness, she was afraid to touch anything unless she had gone over it several time with a disinfectant charm. Heavens only knows what Pierre was experiencing in their wizarding school.

The thought made her shudder. Her only heir being turned to embarrassment like that wasnt worth thinking about especially after how her daughters turned out. If she had her way, he would be back in France but her role and this assignment was too important to her plans. As Ambassador she had to put up a show of cooperation with the english ministry and a gesture of trust like this was necessary. She did hot have to like it or not have plans to remove any undue influence Hogwarts will have on Pierre. No matter what she will not have Pierre fail in his role.

she drove away such thoughts from her mind, she had other business to intent to now. She reached Rokurou's office and entered without ceremony. "Ministère Nakashima, I have send an owl regarding you supplying me with the recent reports on the...." She began saying before noticing the second man there, a reporter she occasionally saw searching for stories. She frowned at him before returning to Rokurou. "This is a... Confidential matter not for his ilk. Sent him away."

It seemed Ivory was enjoying something muggles made called comic books. He had never heard of such a thing. "Comic books? What are those?" Timothy said taking a seat besides Ivory.
Looking at the book she held up he quickly translated it in his mind. "Land of Black Gold?" He said. "What's it about?"
She asked him how his summer was. Truth be told Timothy had quite a interesting summer. Many letters were sent back and forth between him and various people interested in his opinion on historical subjects. "Well you see... I've been working with some historians about finishing a complete documentation on wizard life during the Yukon Gold Rush. " He said graciously taking a piece of toast and taking a bite.
As if on cue another professor entered the room. This time it was Emily to enter the staffroom. "Hello there Emily, please join us." Timothy thought he detected his name being said differently when Ivory introduced them. He felt a moment of something being off but it wasn't like he could simply assume too much off what he thought he might have heard.
"How are you doing Emily? Excited for the year. I cannot wait for the students to arrive!" He said no doubt thinking of all the talk about history he would be able to do.

Evelyn let out a chuckle, watching as the new boy entered the compartment. “be my guest” she said, gesturing towards one of the empty seats. She flexed her fingers out as she looked up at the two older girls from under her cap. “what’s the deal with the colours?” she asked, pointing out red and yellow littering the girls’ attire. “some sort of ‘club’” she speculated. “and what’s with these houses, ‘Slytherin was one, I think.” she asked, leaning forward in her seat. “Guessing your upper years, so you’d know more than anyone else.”

She sat back, rubbing her eyes. It had been a long night, and the last thing she needed was some a pair of chatty girls, it was going to be a long year to say the least.

Emily blinked as Ivory walked over to her, but she smiled happily and allowed the other professor to lead her towards a chair, taking a plate with some toast to nibble on. How kind of Ivory to give her some toast! "Ah, excellent, I do love toast!" She was about to take a bite when she paused, blinking and feeling a tad awkward as Ivory wiped a smudge of ash off of her cheek. Goodness, she thought she had gotten it all off after she arrived! She must have looked so silly a few moments ago, that made her feel a bit embarrassed but nonetheless she smiled gratefully up at Ivory. "Thank you for catching that, Ivory!"

She addressed the woman by her first name, suppose she could be a bit more casual with her fellow professors. She looked to Timothy now and beamed at him, a small tinge of pink on her cheeks. "I'm doing very well, Timothy, how are you? I'm very excited to start this new year as well, and eager to meet our new students and see our upperclassmen again." She took a small bite of the toast Ivory offered to her, before looking to Ivory, swallowing her toast before speaking. "I hope you're doing very well too, Ivory. You know, I feel this year will be exciting for all of us, professors and students alike." She then resumed eating her toast.

"Hi! I'm Leo! Nice to meet you!" a dark-haired boy exclaimed brightly upon entering the carriage, advancing on Hye and thrusting his hand out at him, smiling wide. Hye recoiled, unused to such greetings from total strangers. The boy's confident- even rather boisterous- manner, coupled with his marked London accent, contributed to making him feel distinctly ill-at-ease. Looking like a rabbit caught in the headlights, and keeping his hands on his book, he awkwardly mumbled "Hye Taliesin," hoping it would suffice.

Shortly afterwards, another boy opened the door- this one was clearly an upperclassman. Smiling and speaking in a much less alarming way, he asked if he could join. Hye felt like it really wasn't his place, as a first-year, to tell an upperclassman what he could or couldn't do, so he just nodded awkwardly.

The third arrival was a girl- probably a first-year as well, by the looks of her. She stood in the compartment doorway, grinning, with one hand on her hip, and said "Heeeeeeya, boys! Mind if I join ya for the ride to magic school?" She reminded Hye very strongly of Leo, and he would be surprised if they didn't end up in the same House. Probably Gryffindor, he thought to himself. For his part, he hoped to be sorted into Ravenclaw, as he felt it suited him well in its dignified and dedicated pursuit of knowledge.

He wasn't sure whether or not he was actually expected to respond but, just in case, he quickly shook his head and then ensconced himself more firmly in his window seat, hoping he wouldn't be asked to participate in the conversation. For as long as he could remember, his world had been familiar and small, and he was beginning to realize that going to Hogwarts would be almost the exact opposite of what he was used to. He started to feel the flutterings of anxiety in his stomach, and he absently stroked Hogisim's back as he tried to calm himself down and think of all he had to look forward to.
