Is this a valid use of the Detect Ambush skill or should I just roll Perception?

Ok. Someone walk me through on leveling up, again. I roll a d6 for health, and I'm going to do three because I honestly can't remember if I did for the last two levels, add a skill(?) and then multiply by the number next to my other skills, yeah? I think so.

The three things I did were:


1. Roll 1d6 for hit points.


2. Add a level's worth of extra skill. Most skills give a +3-5%. You don't multiply, you just add that percent on to the existing percent (so 67% +5% = 72%).


3. Add any bonuses from your Hand to Hand Combat skill for that level.
