Tales of Ristafel

Well, i can see how you can get that, now that you point it out like that. Although, i was more or less making an effort for him for him to be. An over-zealous, god loving man. Who believed that all fights can be resolved with words. He does not believe in fighting. He uses his power to defend what he thought to be right. He believed that if following him goddess path, he would achieve much more prestige, and be able to spread the word further. Overall he was meant to be a lawful good character, trying to solve everything with words, and turning a blind eye. He did not want to fight, and did not want fights to happen.

The situation with the burning of the hand was overall what he thought to be the best solution to what was going down. He was upset by the man's outright perverted ways, and touching someone whom he did not know, and she seemed bothered by it. That kixed with the Monk's reaction, about to turn into a fight, he did not want a fight to ensue, so he cast a holy shield onto Emerald, to enforce the man to remove his hand, and to show the Monk that Gustav had it handled, and no fight was needed to be had. Although he failed.

He plays all sides because he believes that there is good in all of Crea's Dream, and that all people can be reasoned with, and loved, he thinks of them all as friends, and he wants to protect them. He recently has been displaying but a small fraction of his powers, as he is in his prime, and can do a lot, but with time, and much exhaustion. What he has done so far are simple party tricks, to show off who he is, and to attempt to gain the respect of his comrades, so they will listen to him, and follow his peaceful ways. He also thinks he has authority, so that would explain his attempt to order people around. Though, this time he was just saying "Hey lets go!".

He try's to be kind to all, and he is always smiling. He gets determined and gets his grim grins when he thinks Crea is putting him up to a challenge. He is excited to prove himself to his Goddess. And when he discusses his "old" life. He is referring to before he was a believer. Like 16-17ish, and now he is a traveling nature loving man, who spreads the word of his Goddess, and helps those in need. Getting in over his head a lot. Also despite his own village, and his age, he has made many many travels, it is how he lives. He lives to make friends and share his word.

His beliefs are decently consistent, or at least i am attempting to make them that. The bit the the animals i can understand, although, i didn't have a view of him being a vegan, so i would like to say, his belief in that, is that Crea created animals to be eaten, and others to be companions.

To get to what he really is. He is man with a heedful of Crea, he is hopelessly in love with his Goddess, and seeks nothing more than to serve her and believe in her. He jumps into all fights, trying to stop them, and show his ways are the right way, although, truthfully, he can not take a hit. He is a wimp with a mind that thinks his god will protect him form harm. When she doesn't, he blows it off as her teaching him a lesson.

In no way was i intending for him to be a jerk, if i was, i would try to include that a bit more. Although, i guess i was not clear with my actions so far. And If your IC believes him to be a spooky mage, then let it be! Just, OCC, he is not. He is a frail man who thinks his faith gives him armor and reason, and he wants to seek peace with his power.

Also, to note, I am purposely being vague about his powers, I want them to be up to interpretation, they are made to look holy, and Gustav believes they are holy, and created from Crea, although to non-believers, i want them to be able to believe it is just magic. Because I myself do not know what i want it to be, and I don't want to say that it is in fact Crea's power, because, just like all faith, she may be real, she may not be real. Gustav thinks she is, and he thinks it's her powers, and it very well may be, but if she isn't, then it is just Gustav spouting non-sense, and casting magic.

Basically, he was meant to be an easily like-able character, but anyone violent would easily hate him.

He is kind, and has a large amount of wisdom, and love to protect his friends. He believes that all he meets are new friends.

Although, i do like your idea @Nautilus, perhaps i may do something like that in another RP. That sounds really cool, and if i didst already have plans in mind for Gustav, i wouldn't mind using your idea of him.

Oh Hadi doesn't think he's a wizard or anything, that was my OOC guess. Hadi has perfectly valid IC reasons to dislike Gustav.

Alright ladies and gentlemen, today is the day. After more than an OOC week inside the tavern, we are pretty much good to go.

We will be visiting some pretty nasty mountains where very few people live, so I am going to perform a roll call. Now it is the time to decide whether to join the travel or not. We will come back in a while, but you would have to invent some really bullshit excuse (except Hachi or Lily, who can just come here flying) to explain how you got to the tomb as fast as us all alone so better talk right now to avoid confusion.

In case we get any new players who want to jump to the action I guess I can help them invent some excuse, but for those who appeared in the tavern already it would be better to note it now.

@Bravest @TheeeIrish

I'm here as well. I just haven't been able to post at all. Sorry about that. My computer malfunctioned recently so I have to use my sisters but as you can imagine I have limited use. Truly sorry. However I'd still like to worm my way into roleplay even if its as a villain.

Im here.

Also, for people to have a better understanding of my character, if oyu have ever watched an anime called "Trigun" in my mind, he is a mixture of Vash The Stampede and Nicholas Wolfwood. The pacifist loving personality with a big smile from Vash, and the religious crusader, always in over his head-ness from Wolfwood.

I am present.

@Nautilus, do what you would prefer. I've extended two offers to @DergTheDergon, so the only thing that will change is El Saldo staying put if you edit, or intercepting his student/going to find him if no edit is made. Again, up to you. I am flexible.

Okay, not so soon, had to eat and shower and whatnot. One issue, @Darksoul180, I had Ajax put a hand on Gustav's throat automatically for the sake of narrative flow, because breaking up the dialogue to see if you'd try and get a dodge in or something would've been kinda bothersome. I even explained why this very simple motion that takes less than a blink to happen should succeed in the IC post for convenience. If you have an issue with this we can talk it out here.

@Zerohex Haha, i don't mind man, if it makes sense then i don't mind. I was kinda figuring something like that would happen. Also, is it bad i picture Ajax, as a more emphasized larger, version of Zangief from Street Fighter?

I play him large but Ajax isn't THAT big. I mean sure he's thick and 260 pounds of mostly muscle but he's 6'2'' rather than the 7+ everyone seems to think he is, says so right there on the CS. Like, you had Gustav make a stairway to be eye level with him but the height difference was seriously only 4 inches, a footstool would've sufficed.

He's big for the average fellow but not as tall as Zangief, who is actually 7 feet tall. Zangief's official weight is actually below Ajax's but that's kinda bullshit given his size, he should probably be sitting at like 300+ rather than the given 253 going by pro wrestlers of similar size and way less muscular build.

@TheeeIrish We're all still standing outside the tavern we started in, if you'd like to use that as your starting point. Though when I say "all" I mean "everyone except Hachi, who is at the market getting some supplies and on his way back".

Alright, this is how it will go.

We will part to the tomb today. Everyone who agreed to join will come, and those who haven't replied to the roll call but still appeared in the tavern will simply be assumed to be there, but doing their own thing. They can jump in at any moment, but they will be ignored by the other PC until they post at least once.

However, those who haven't yet introduced, now have the opportunity to suddenly materialize on the way there. Just assume they ran out of the tavern in the last moment and asked to join or simply found the party while they were still walking in the transited part of the path. For coherence purposes, everyone in the party will know the name of the new member (they were asked their name and said it out loud), but not the other way around, but no other information about that person will be known.

To avoid extremely long sections of exciting detailed walking, we will simply timeskip until the next interesting checkpoint. This is why all new members can simply jump in with no formal presentation required. All you know about the party is that they are on a expedition to Sigmar's Mausoleum, the tomb of a legendary ancient king, which of course has some nice loot.

These timeskips are your last chances in a while to simply jump in, no questions asked. You may join later if you want, but you will need to write a really original presentation since we will be located in the middle of nowhere.

CONFIRMED JOINING: @TheeeIrish

PRESENTED, BUT STILL NOT REPLIED TO ROLL CALL. ASSUMED TO JOIN BUT IGNORED UNTIL FORMAL CONFIRMATION: @Bravest @spandez

Confirmed joining don't need to reply to this message. Not presented are expected to reply to this message, optionally with details about their timeskipped presentation (what did they claim to join for, what were they doing when we found them, etc) or with possible further questions about the mission. Presented are expected to reply with anything, even if it is "I don't want to join", just for bureaucracy purposes.
