It was soon apparent to Emile that Chase was not alone in his travels, the scouts now seeing the secondary wolf, one they could not identify. The message relayed to Emile had him stripping immediately to shift into his wolf from; his preferred form. The two wolves that had been scouting and following Chase now exposed themselves to sight; both remained a fair distance from Chase and the other wolf back at the tree line. They were close enough to be spotted but kept their wary distance, neither certain if Chase would recognize them from previous hunting or scouting.

Emile, clothing tossed on the ground without care, shifted into large framed wolf and immediately started the long run to where Chase had fled, not far from the camp he found Morgan running at his side; in any normal situation he would stop long enough to make it clear she was to remain behind, but he didn't have time to waste, not knowing if the new wolf spotted was from their former pack alliance or not.

Elijah looked up at the sound of his door opening, Adelaide stepping inside. Elijah managed a meager smile in greeting. "How'd it go?"

Adelaide cocked her head. "The witch was a dead end... literally. Whatever demon she was communing with killed her and based on what Mackenzie found, it doesn't look like she was behind Joe's death."

Eli nodded solemnly, sighing. "And Chase?"

Adelaide bit her lip, shaking her head. "He bolted. He's out of reach for the time being. He didn't handle the news well."

Eli shut his eyes, leaning back against the pillow. "I can only imagine."

"...But that's not why I'm here," Addy said, staring at the man pointedly.

Elijah frowned at her before understanding crossed his features. "Ash," he said quietly.

"Bingo."

"There's nothing to say, Addy. It couldn't happen. I've moved past it," he said, though his tone sounded hollow even to himself.

Adelaide scoffed, cocking her thumb back over her shoulder to point at the knife embedded in the wall behind her. "Clearly. That's a sign of healthy adjustment if I've ever seen one. Now are you going to talk to me or bullshit me?"

Adelaide felt the flush of anger before seeing its effects as his jaw clenched. "Why is this any of your business? I made my choice and I sure as hell don't need you getting in the middle of my relationships--" he paused as the witch raised her hand, clenching the fingers into a fist. The knife behind her wobbled rapidly before being jerked from the wall by some unseen force. It turned around to face Elijah tip first, whipping across the room. Eli flinched reflexively, raising a hand to protect himself only to lower it and see that the blade had paused, mid-air, mere inches from his skin. Slowly, the dagger flipped itself over, the handle extended toward him. Turning to look back at Adelaide, he saw the fiery glare on her features soften as she nodded to him. He reached up to take the knife and set it on the table alongside his bed before sighing. "Your telekinesis has gotten better," he murmured. "What do you want to talk about?"

Adelaide took a seat alongside his bed, placing her elbows on her knees as she leaned forward. "I sensed the way you felt about Ash yesterday. You genuinely care about her. Hell, for the first time since I've known you, you might actually be in love. What changed?" She resisted the urge to roam through his mind searching for answers, knowing that Elijah hearing himself say them out loud could only help make her point.

Elijah took a deep breath, hesitating. "I had a dream," he blurted out suddenly. "Ash and I were together with her -- our -- child. But we weren't happy anymore. I couldn't walk away from hunting... I left them, but not before they got hurt." Seeing Addy's insistent gaze on him, he quickly continued. "It's not just the dream, you understand. It just brought some fears to the surface that I had been feeling already."

"So, you're so certain that you can't change and give Ashley-May and her child a good life that you'd rather condemn her to loneliness? And here I thought Mackenzie was the only prophet in Vitae," Adelaide said dryly.

"I'm not taking that chance, Adelaide. Not with what's at stake," Eli replied evenly.

"Your fear, Elijah. That is what's at stake. You are the only thing stopping yourself. I've seen you face down demons, witches, and vampires without a second thought. But when a chance at real happiness gets dropped in your lap, you'd rather slink back to what you know than take a chance. Do you even know what you did to Ash? Do you even care?"

Elijah lowered his head, unable to meet Adelaide's eyes as he turned to face the opposite wall. He felt his eyes stinging. "I'm tired. It's the meds. I need to get some sleep."

Adelaide scoffed, shaking her head as she stood up from the chair. "You keep living like you're in this life alone and one day you might just end up being right." She turned on her heel, stalking to the door and opening it before pausing at the threshold. When she spoke, her voice had an edge as sharp as the blade at Eli's side. "Sleep tight, Elijah. I hope your next dream talks some sense into you." She stepped out, allowing the door to slam shut behind her.

Andy was slightly larger than a normal wolf, she heard the growl coming from the wolf which she had still not identified. She thought about whether to seem like a threat or not until she saw what seemed to be a pack appear, she whimpered a little knowing that she would get in trouble if she disrupted the pack completely unaware that they had heard of her name. Andy have a submissive look to the wolf in the mud though still making eye contact while bowing her head, she didn't want to wait to find out if the pack or the wolf knew each other or were friendly. She backed away in cowardice and ran back into the woods although not completely, the curiosity got the best of her and she hid enough to still be able to see what was going to happen in front of her. She shivered a little in the cold and laid down resting her head on her paws, her ears twitching every time she heard a crack of a branch or twig. Andy didn't like packs, she didn't want to be a part of a pack, she preferred to remain by herself where she can worry only about herself and knew to blame herself if someone went wrong. She was highly independent and blamed her uncle for it, after her father had died Andy was handed over to her uncle who wasn't the best of a werewolf, he often left Andy alone in isolation if she did something wrong. He would take her out on little hunts and would tell her to find her own food in which she is grateful for now although she often got lost and would have to fine her own way back home. She was also grateful for the way he treated her, he often beat her and angered her but taught her how to control her anger and how to control her transformations. She smelt another scent from behind her, one that she hasn't smelt before, it was a fair distance away from her but still close enough to smell her. She gathered that he was the pack leader considering how late he is with saving what she inferred to as a pack member, she silenced herself and didn't move as she watched the wolf much larger than her pass by not wanting to have anything to do with him.

Mackenzie settled in beside Will for their drive home, tucked in beside him, his arm draped over her shoulder; once more looking like a couple out for a drive in a vintage vehicle. They hadn't done much in the time since Adelaide had left them though their time away had been healing, for the both of them. Mac was still intent on finding Thomas's whereabouts, while she didn't want to believe it had been the hunter, she owed it to Chase to find the truth of it.

They passed through the gates, Bart giving the two a simple nod; he didn't need to know where the councilmen and his aide had been, nor what they had been doing, their tousled looks alone suggested enough. Once inside the gates Will drove immediately to the Clinic. She knew why: he was hell bent on scolding the man. Well enough for her, she was far more content to starve him out instead.

Will stopped the car and Mac leaned up kiss his cheek softly. "As much as I want him to suffer, don't undo the hard work Ash put in."

William chuckled at Mackenzie's request. "No promises," he said quietly. The time he'd spent with Mackenzie had helped him to regain his focus and eased his nerves in a way only Mackenzie could... but it had done little to alleviate his annoyance with his bedridden partner. Hearing a knock at the window, Will turned to see Adelaide standing outside the Beast. He reached past Mackenzie to roll the window down.

The witch looked them over -- Mac's tousled hair, clothes which looked more disheveled than before she left them -- her mouth curved into a knowing smile. "Glad to see you two made it back."

William flushed slightly, glancing down at the steering wheel as he changed the subject. "You talk to Eli?"

Adelaide nodded, an annoyed flare flashing across her eyes. "Yes. He's being a stubborn ass, as usual."

Will nodded with a sigh. "I'll talk to him."

Addy turned toward Mac, her expression softening into a sympathetic smile, her tone light. "You may want to talk to Ash later. I did when I got back... she's doing better, but she blames herself. Talked about leaving Vitae. She's doing some soul-searching right now, I think."

Mackenzie regarded Adelaide as the woman spoke on Elijah, she certainly did not look apologetic for her appearance or their delay in returning to the colony. She was not surprised to learn Eli was being stubborn; she knew this to be typical of his behavior in the past, some of which she had already witnessed. Her expression soured slightly hearing Ash was still distressed about the altercation, "I'll check on her," She assured Adelaide turning her attention to Will. "So maybe hurt him a little: she had enough stress for today after finding Joe, he could of waited to be an asshole until tomorrow."

Chase caught sight of the other two wolves just as the one across the gap retreated. Slowly but surely the growling ceased, his eyes flicking to the two in the distance, they seemed more familiar than the other one so Chase assumed they were from the pack. As his sore muscles relaxed he knew if they were, then it was easily possible that the rest of the pack including Emile knew of his location. For the moment Chase paced almost groggily in a circle around the spot he'd just been lying in, unsure of what to do. He hadn't really put together what he should do next, and if Emile showed up he'd no doubt expect Chase to return with him, despite the fact that he wouldn't force it.

Chase could run, he knew that. Go until he was out of the state and put this entire shitstorm behind him and never look back. But Joe would kill him from beyond the grave if he ever pulled something like that, and Chase wasn't entirely sure that's what he wanted anyways. The wolf glanced back over the gap, searching for the earlier stranger to no luck, but he suspected the other wolf hadn't gone far. It had a reason for showing up and making itself known and he hadn't figured it out, too much attempted logic and emotion already swimming around in his head to get very far with that.

Thanatos was getting tired of this back and forth between his brother and the Fox and was about to just attack her, force her to submit, but was stopped by Hypnos putting his hand on his shoulder.
Hypnos gave a little chuckle, " That about sums it up yes, but going against an army or two shouldn't be a problem for you. I'd wager it makes it all the more exciting for you. As for the Sin itself well as long as you do your work properly you won't have to face his Ire now will you? At any rate if the First Sin walks free he won't just hunt you down, he'll declare war on all of creation, and he won't stop until it's all but dust under his feet."

Solomon looked over to the.... almost lost looking man close to him as he asked how Joe had died. " I honestly don't know. I haven't heard the specifics and I doubt it'll be released to the public so quickly. " Solomon told the man matter of factly. While he wanted some more information about the case he would work with what he had. Looking back over to Ginny Solomon said, " I'm just waiting to hear back from a friend of mine. Other than that I'm probably free. Just don't expect me to go jogging with you or something." Solomon said with a humorous smile.

Himiko instinctively took a step in front of Da Ji when Thanatos's attitude grew hostile, she didn't need to look at Jordan whose smile had diminished greatly at the god's intended course of action. Jordan uncrossed his arms, his grin now a thinly veiled smirk of hostility. Da Ji however let out a small chuckle at the hostility in the room, "Oh my, you extend the hand of friendship while hiding a knife in the sleeve~" Da Ji continued to listen to Hypnos before responding, "Funny thing is, I know you're playing me...but you're right. I'm gone for 50 years-"

"57" Himiko corrected

"-And the first thing that I hear when I am return is that the world is in Chaos...It's like the best birthday party I could ever have asked for~"

The pack scouts monitored Chase and the unknown wolf from a distance, watching with equal parts caution and interest in the affair. They watched as the other wolf retreated back to the woods and out of sight, one watched the forest's edge where it had disappeared whilst the other continued to keep and eye on Chase, both had expected him to return to them, to their territory. Instead he paced in circles making the two of them wonder what kept him at bay. They had heard his mournful call, knew it was him in pain, but didn't know why he wouldn't come to the pack for shelter and comfort.

Emile's pace slowed as it was clear the other wolf had backed off, though it didn't do anything to ease his nerves; this other wolf could have just retreated temporarily waiting for reinforcements. He was still intent on making his way to the scene and making his presence known. The other pack had already attached Chase once, and though Emile had made it clear his intentions with Vitae, Chase hadn't been a part of his pack at that point.

Despite Emile's reduced speed Morgan bound onward, regardless of Emile's growl of annoyance; she knew her uncle well enough to know that Chase being so far and apparently pained in some way would only make the Alpha worry more so. At least if she arrived before him she could see more clearly what was happening and hopefully help. Within a few minutes she was at the forest's edge coming up behind the two scouts. Neither turned to acknowledge her presence, though she was noted by a simple twitch of an ear. Panting, her tongue lolling out the side of her maw she padded further than the forest's edge, skirting along the perimeter to look for Chase.

Spotting him at the muddy bottom of the embankment she pressed onward cautiously, attempting to watch both him and the fields beyond for any signs of movement.

Ginny smiles, glad he's doing well, though she wishes she could tell Eddie what she knows. Maybe he could make something of it. "I mean, all I have today is training, so I'd love to hang out a bit, if that's alright with you." She says, enjoying some of her coffee, which she put an egregious amount of cream and sugar in.

William glanced at Adelaide after Mackenzie's remark, but the witch showed no sign of disagreement as she crossed her arms and shot Will an expectant look. "I'll see what I can work in without ruining Julie and Ash's work," he said lightly. He opened the driver's side door, sliding out of the Mainline before pausing to turn around. Leaning back into the Beast, he took Mac's hand, placing the keys in her palm before bringing his lips to hers. Adelaide turned slightly, eyes averted toward the ground as she waited patiently. Drawing back, Will squeezed Mackenzie's hand. "Go talk to Ash. I'll be by later," he said softly before once again standing up. Giving Adelaide a nod, he made his way into the Clinic.

Adelaide looked to Mac, smiling. "Can I get a ride back?" The walk between the Clinic and the house was far from arduous, but she had ulterior motives. She wanted to get to know William's new girlfriend better and possibly set the framework for some kind of friendship... or at least see where the two of them stood. She couldn't read Mackenzie, which was admittedly frustrating for the psychic.

Mackenzie smirked at Will's promise, sliding along the seat as he stepped out, to take up behind the wheel. She had a moment of hesitation at the sight of her keys missing, but Will took her hand and placed them within. She leaned into his gentle kiss, dark eyes opening after a moment as he spoke. She nodded slowly, pulling the door closed once he left. She watched him walk away, lost in thought; just too much on her plate right now. She wanted to get a few traps assembled to see how they could be altered for use the night the pack was due, she needed to find out where Thomas was and if anyone had heard from him and now Ash wanted to leave.

She would never let her partner take off without her on a normal occasion, now more so that her partner in crime was pregnant. She worried that she wouldn't be able to talk Ash down, that Eli had done enough damage and Mac was torn by the thought of it. Her thoughts were interrupted by the sounds of Adelaide's voice. She turned to blink at the woman she had honestly forgotten was there, and her question. "Yea, sure." She said simply, taking the key and slipping it into the ignition. A slow smile crept across her lips as she felt the Beast rumble to life; she missed driving it, but was afraid of what would happen if she were to receive a vision behind the wheel.

Hypnos smiled when Da Ji agreed to help them, " I apologize if the cloak and dagger approach is a bit redundant, but it's the Greek way. Diplomacy in front, but preparing your forces in case of a surprise attack." Hypnos said with a chuckle as he patted Thanatos' shoulder who didn't seem to be relaxing. " It's been engrained in us since we watched over the Greeks for centuries. If you would like we can take you straight to the Underworld so that you can take a look at the seal." Hypnos offered.

Solomon thought for a moment. It would certainly make his day more eventful conversing with someone other than Nurse Sandy. God bless her, she's kind but there's only so many times a man can take being helped to eat and walk before he's had enough. " That sounds wonderful. I've just recently gotten a cot in the Baracks so once I'm settled in I'll wait for you there." Solomon told Ginny. As Solomon thought about Nurse Sandy he figured he should do something to thank her, but what?

She smiles. "Glad to hear it! I just got set up there as well." She says, happy that she has a friend here. "Any ideas for what we could do? I have no idea what people do for fun in a colony."

" Only in this case it was YOUR forces that threatened a surprise attack." Himiko snarled back at Hypnos. Da Ji merely laughed while Jordan kept his eyes fixated on Thanatos, his smirk still on his face but his eyes were showing signs of primal madness.

"Did no-one teach you Greeks to do your homework?" Da Ji taunted the two gods, "Your brother here risked an all out war between our two kinds, not the kind of intelligence I would expect from gods. You know nothing about the two who brought you to me, and you have attempted to force me to work with you... not exactly grounds for me to go into your territory now is it~"

Jordan let out a chuckle before smoothing his hair back and looking at Himiko who for the moment was keeping her emotions in check.

"Thanks," Adelaide said with a smile, opening the door and sliding onto the bench seat. Hearing the grumbling of the Beast's engine, her smile widened. She didn't need to be able to read Mac to see her obvious pleasure at being able to drive her precious vehicle again. "Where'd you get this thing, anyway?" she asked, hoping to broach some kind of small talk.

Elijah pursed his lips as he saw William enter, sighing deeply. "I figured it was only a matter of time before you walked through that door. Adelaide send you in to be the bad cop? If so, you have a pretty high bar to clear -- she almost put a knife through my skull."

Will said nothing, staring impassively at his partner before taking up the seat next to his bed. Elijah began to get uncomfortable at the man's steely gaze, his gray eyes fixed on him. Nonetheless, he met Will's gaze defiantly. Finally, William acquiesced. "What happened with Ash, Eli?"

Elijah sighed before repeating the explanation he'd given to Adelaide, about his dream and the fears it had dredged up. Will arched his eyebrows. "So you let a few stray neurons firing in your sleep convince you to pass up a chance at something real?" he asked.

"Yes, and you know why? Because Ash is real -- and so is the child she's carrying. My concerns are real. The fairy-tale life Hypnos showed me, the one part of me wants so badly... it's not. As much as I want it to be, it's out of reach. I'm not taking that chance, not when it means dragging the two of them down with me," Eli said, holding eye contact with Will.

"For god's sake, Eli!" William said, his sudden shout surprising Elijah. When he spoke again, his volume had lowered again, though his tone lost none of its intensity. "It doesn't have to be out of reach. You're just using that as an excuse to keep yourself from trying."

"That's not what this is abou--" Eli began.

"Bullshit. That's exactly what this is about and you know it. You're scared to take a shot at a normal life because you know that if you fall short, you'll only have yourself to blame. So you'd rather use Ash and her baby as a way to make what you think is a graceful exit before you even have a chance to get hurt."

Elijah's jaw clenched, his hands tightening into fists. "You think I'm not hurting?! You think it didn't kill me to look Ash in the eye and tell her I couldn't be with her?"

Will didn't back down from the challenge, leaning forward in the chair, "And how do you think she feels? She blames herself, Eli. She's talking about leaving Vitae because she can't stand to face you."

Eli's mouth was agape, speechless, as he looked at his hunting partner. His lips struggled to form words, but failed to find any. William didn't give him a chance to recover before continuing, "You know what the sad thing is? I would have supported you if you hadn't been interested in Ash, or if you couldn't stand the thought of raising another man's child. But you don't get to take the easy way out and hide behind a veil of false nobility, you selfish bastard."

William took a deep breath, standing up from the chair and crossing his arms as he looked down at Davenport. "I've never seen you back down from a challenge as long as I've known you. Never known you to pass up on an opportunity to help someone who deserves it. But now a challenge that has a chance of making you genuinely happy shows up and that guy is nowhere to be seen. You want to stay the course and avoid any chance of happiness? That's on you -- but you didn't have to tear that poor girl's heart out in the process."

A silence fell over the room that lasted minutes, neither man speaking out or meeting eyes. Finally, Elijah broke the quiet. "Why, Will?" he asked softly.

"Why what?"

"Why do you care so much about Ashley-May and I?" the younger man asked almost tentatively.

Will scoffed, but the sound was devoid of any harshness. When he spoke, his tone had lost its edge. "Because you're my friend, Eli. You're like a brother to me. And despite your propensity for being a stubborn dick, you're a good person at heart. But most of all? Because I want nothing more than for you to experience some of the happiness that I've found with Mackenzie. I was a broken man before I met her, Eli. She fixed me." William smiled before continuing. "You're worried that you're hardwired for hunting, that you won't be able to give Ash and her child what they need. I don't believe that. You'd be surprised the things that suddenly stop seeming so important once you're really in love."

Elijah's eyes stung once again and he took a deep but shaky breath to steady himself. After another long pause, he nodded. "I need to think. I'm not promising anything -- I just... I need time."

"All right," William said slowly, turning on his heel to move to the door. Opening it, he froze as Eli called his name.

Meeting his gaze, the younger man managed a meager smile. "Thank you." Will returned the smile, nodding before stepping out into the hallway of the Clinic.

Eddie rose his bare foot and gripped a nearby chair with his toes, bringing it closer and using it as a footrest, all the while still having his full attention on the book. "A few days ago, I had no idea anything... supernatural existed. It's amazing to see how nonchalant you two are to these things, although you're probably just used to it. I feel as if I need to learn everything about everything out there, so I'm not blindsided..." He clapped his book shut and rubbed his eyes. "But maybe it is time for a break. I've been at it for... about 14 hours."

Movement near the area of the two from the pack caught Chase's attention, a third wolf, one the man immediately recognized had arrived. Morgan. Chase huffed, knowing her she'd wanted to check in. Since he'd been at the pack all she'd done was help him, both protecting him from Brody as well as helping him figure out the insides of the pack...as well as Emile. The female was moving closer but still keeping her distance, he'd lost track of her with his eyes but he could nearly sense and guess where she was moving

As the rain started to let up to more of a drizzle Chase moved away from where he'd planted himself for a while. The wind carried down Morgan's scent and along with it Emile's, causing Chase's maw to clench. He'd had no doubt the Alpha would likely want to know what was going on himself or send Malcolm, but this confirmed he wasn't far behind his niece. Finally he resigned himself to a task rather than mulling over what had happened and what to do next. The Wolf moved with intent, following the scent trail from the direction she'd come and passing the pack members by without a glance. Once he'd gotten more or less the direct trail he picked up the pace, the rain hadn't distorted it too horribly.

He wouldn't have to travel far before he heard the large wolf's movement, Chase now b-lining to cut him off. The moment he had he let out a non-threatening but angry growl briefly and started shifting into his human form. The man cared little for decency as he stood in front of the wolf, his body dirty with the occasional dark spot of blood from some wound or other he'd picked up during his mad dashing through the brush. "How much do you trust your inside man!?" Chase shouted accusingly at Emile, uncaring that any of the nearby wolves would be able to hear him, he was focused, wanted answers and he had more than enough determination currently. "Was he aware of me and my father?!"

Andy laid there silently though rather confused with what was going on but then again that's what you get when you walk into someone else's business. She saw the wolf turn into a man and immediately recognised his face, her heart started to beat faster she knew that she had to get out of there before he recognised her. Though in the midst of standing up she heard him mention his father, she froze in her spot and moved closer to the pair that were arguing to hear the conversation more clearly but still trying not to be seen. Andy sensed the bitterness and anger in his tone as he yelled through the woods though was highly intrigued by what he was talking about when he asked Emile if he was aware of Joe, could the rumours about him be true because it sure looked that way. She tried to look away as much as possible not wanting to see Chase in all of his pride and glory and quite frankly didn't want to see the wolf he was talking to flash either. It was then that Andy realised she left her clothes with her phone in the car before she ran off following Chase.

She went to go make a run for it so they didn't notice that other's were listening when a broken branch sliced the majority of the side of her body and yelp was heard. Andy gritted her teeth and kept running whimpering each time she moved to get a fair distance away from everyone, she found a large pile of rocks that were covered in moss and laid in front of it panting and whimpering. She didn't want to have anything more to do with them anymore, she just wanted to go home and drink, she wasn't in the best of moods and tried to get up before falling back down again another yelp coming from her. Andy had not intention on changing back into a human without any clothes near her and didn't want to show her face to any of the pack especially Chase.

Mackenzie gripped the shifter and pulled downward, setting the Beast into drive before pressing the gas. The engine hummed contently after it's run today, no knocks, no timing issues; to Mac it was bliss.... Until Adelaide asked her a question. Mac hadn't thought the drive to the house, as short as it would be, didn't have any ulterior motives behind it. Dark eyes flicked to Adelaide before turning back to the road ahead.

"She belonged to my parents, mother first; her before she married my father. He had it until he was taken by the pack. Brody stole it from Borseti before Brendan and his lot could take it with everything else they salvaged from there. After Brody and Douglas fell to the pack I kept her running." None of what Mac said had any inflection of emotion, simple fact until she continued. "She's a demanding Beast, blood, sweat and tears to keep her afloat but she pays you back tenfold in the long run."

Morgan had headed ever closer to Chase, growing concern the wolf was seriously injured and the scouts had missed it but when she heard movement from where she had seen him last she stopped. One paw raised and ears perked forward she listened and waited until she could see what he was doing. She caught a glimpse of him as he crested the ridge and bolted back towards the woods. She was a little disappointed he hadn't come to her her but went to the scouts instead; she had hoped they had developed some kind of relationship over the course of the past day or so.

She turned and headed back the way she came and was surprised to see Chase had bypassed the scouts and further. She followed, picking up her pace to arrive in time to witness Chase yelling at Emile in wolf form. Every instinct in her told her to jump in, to protect the Alpha but she fought it. The scouts advanced in the same mindset but she intervened. The three were aware of the other wolf nearby and fleeing they spread out through the woods to create a perimeter around Chase and Emile.

Emile had been surprised and content to see Chase had come back on his own volition, not that Emile would have forced him back indefinitely, only long enough for the wolf to explain what had happened and for Emile to be certain her would be safe alone.

Unexpectedly Chase was shifting and then shouting at him. Emile did the same, shifted and stood, the large framed man regarding Chase first with confusion then with disappointment. "He do not know you here." He said simply, crossing his arms over his chest. He knew enough now that Chase had been speaking to the colony since coming to the pack-more than his own father. His questioning Emiles connections, not to mention the fact that he smelt like the colony, and the false Alpha. The details of which he did not know. Him and his "inside man" didn't get to communicate often. "What happen?" He spoke firmly, in a deep commanding voice. Hypnos chuckled and waited for Da Ji to finish saying her piece. Once she and her fellow Kitsune had said what they were going to say it was time for Hypnos to go on the offensive. The deity shrugged, " A war between the Greek gods and the Kitsune would be about as meaningful as the Trojan War. My brother has a very singular purpose for his existence, as do I and all the other gods. We may be ancient, but we are bound to these extreme quirks for eternity. Thanatos' first solution to a matter will always be Death while mine will be arbitration. As for whatever position those two hold have no consequence to me or my Kin. These two were just as content to leave you in there and go hide in their pocket dimension till I told them we could free you, and we only freed you to help us stop the end of creation. You have no obligation to do anything. Obviously your Inari is not paying head to God's wishes to keep humanity save as we are, but I've no control over that. So go ahead, live the live we've given you back the way you want. " Hypnos said with a yawn. His very form flickered as if it was hard to maintain this human form. " Insult my intelligence all you want, but when Jordan told me you could help with the seal politics was the furthest thing from my mind, and as a Greek god that was a failing on my part, but refuse to help us and eventually the First Sin will come for you Foxes and no amount of running will be enough."

She nods, liking that idea. "Sure! Gotta say though, those books sound really interesting as well. I have a few journals from hunters I used to know, but I would love to learn more." She says, smiling. Djinni have a slight habit of hoarding knowledge.
