"The most crucial part of the spell circle is the wording inside the symbol itself. The lines within the circle, such as the pentagram seen in a devils trap serve only as a channel to drive the magic power. The symbol seen in the middle is the second most important. It acts as a reference for the magic to target. Such as the scorpion and demons. So.. what should The symbol for a nephilim be?" Solomon muttered to himself as he scrawled out writing in ancient hebrew while glancing back to his notes every so often. The basic structure of his circle would be similar to the circle he used to protect himself when he subjugated Pan.

He was done with the basic wording and structure, but now for the hard part... using the Nephilim's Grace as fuel, " Does the child have a name?" Solomon asked as he began adding more intricate details.

Wolf on wolf contact wasn't something Chase was used to, so when Emile rubbed against him there was only a second of surprise before leaning into the other wolfs head. Contact before was something he might have been okay with had they not been standing naked in the forest, so this was more than alright. When Emile moved on Chase followed, the Alpha was moving slow which he was both thankful for and hated. On one hand his legs were worn from the running, but on the other hand he knew it would take a long time to arrive at the camp with this pace.

Movement from behind had the wolf turning his head to look, Morgan was there closing in but keeping her distance, clearly unsure of how to act around him. Chase couldn't blame her, he wasn't the average wolf and he wondered if part of her hesitance came from what she'd learned of him today. He scooped his head to the side, signaling that she could move closer if she wished. Chase had more or less come down from his frenzy of both physical and mental use, running on fumes, he didn't want her to be nervous around him.

Mackenzie eye'd the man she was previously told not to interact with as he scribed.... Something on the floor, bits of it she recognized from the forbidden knowledge she had gleaned from Hypnos and visions, however before she could question to get a better look Will was distracting her. She tilted her head against his palm, dark eyes rising to meet his. "I'm fine, they're getting easier." She admitted but hesitated before continuing. "Yes, I was driving. I think it scared the hell out of Adelaide; but she managed to handle the beast well enough, only stripping a few gears."

Solomon was calling down from the foyer, his inquiry about the child's name, she was going to inform him it was the size of a peanut at this point but Ash responded instead. "Liam." She sounded confident in this.

Hearing the comotion outside the bedroom Ash had settled herself enough to be seen publicly again, though despite her best efforts she was all too aware her eyes were still very red from the torrents of crying she had already done this day. She could see Macs confused look when she provided a name; it was from her prophetic shared dream with Eli, the name the two of them had chosen together.

Solomon nodded to himself and inscribed the name Liam in the center of the circle. " Names have power... I plan to pull from Liam's Grace to fuel the spell that should conceal the both of them." Solomon said as he finished up and looked up from his work. When he looked towards the Oracle he noticed someone new. " You're the mother I'm guessing? " Solomon said getting up and walking towards them. " Firstly, mazal tov, secondly I'm going to have to ask you to do something... awkward. I need you to take off your shirt and lie down in the center of that circle." Solomon said gesturing to his artwork on the floor. I need to finish finish the circle drawing the last few words on your abdomen.

Morgan watched cautiously as Chase noted her presence behind him, she waited for any kind of signal, positive or negative, of how he felt about her being near him; she knew he considered himself a human first, and that those like him whom had been turned rather born this way had great difficulty interacting sociably with other wolves. It took time, a long time in some cases, before they started acting like the rest of the pack. She was surprised and delighted by his motion; very human of him, to nod her forward. Tongue lolled and she sped up to reach his side; rubbing her smaller frame against his side much as Emile did previously.

She whined as she, too, nuzzled her head against his neck and shoulder before matching his pace and keeping at his side. Emile had paused only momentarily for the two to catch up slightly before continuing on at a faster pace, he didn't want to push Chase to exhaustion, but he knew he needed to send out the pack and search for the one that fled this morning. The pack always had eyes on the colony, they would have known who had left and when. Not to mention he had his contact, he didn't want to break their 'radio silence' but in this case it was necessary.

William's face was pained as Mackenzie confirmed that she had been driving when she received the vision. Her mention that Addy had handled the situation well enough did nothing to alleviate his concern... or his guilt. He had given her the keys; he hated depriving Mackenzie of anything, much less the chance to be at the helm of her beloved Beast. But now she had nearly been hurt because of his sentimentality... on a short drive across the Colony no less.

Adelaide stood to the side of the room, having heard the commotion after Will entered. Now she stared at Solomon's work with unabashed curiosity. She considered herself relatively well-versed in the aspect of rituals and spellcraft, but the symbols the man was drawing on the floor were -- for the most part -- unfamiliar even to her beyond the basics.

Upon hearing Ashley-May enter the room and unexpectedly announce a name for the child, Will lowered his hand from Mackenzie's cheek. He could see the puffiness around her eyes, the streaks on her skin from wiped-away tears. Part of him felt guilty for Elijah, for better or worse. He strode across the hallway to wrap her arms around Ash's shoulders in a friendly hug. "I'm sorry," he whispered before pulling away to give her some space. He inclined his head toward Mac and quietly added, "She's gonna be pissed to hear it's not a girl," with a grin.

Mackenzie winced, regretting that she had told him, only because she could read it on his face that he was already blaming himself. She would reassure him, later when they were alone, that it could never be his fault. She chose to be an Oracle, she chose to drive and Hypnos provided the vision. None of these things had stemmed from something he could have prevented.

Ashley-May was surprised by Will's sudden closeness, his arms encircling her shoulders, however she leaned into it, a rueful smile coming to her lips as he commented on the name. She was very aware of how Mac believed, because she was the Oracle, that the child would be a girl but Hypnos, the god her partner was an Oracle to, had prophesied otherwise. She gave a laugh as she heard Mac pipe up as she passed them towards the spells. "She said Lee-Ann," rather matter of factly, before turning a glare at the man from the Clinic.

Mac eye'd him carefully before speaking. "You better believe if I find out you want her shirt off for anything besides your ritual, you and your pervy thoughts will never be heard of again." There was no malice in her voice, no anger; just a simple promise.

Ash sighed and rolled her eyes, stepping away from Will to wander closer to the spell on the floor. "And you're sure this will work?" She questioned, but it didn't stop her from pulling the hem of her shirt over her head and tossing the discarded clothing back at Mac to catch. "I'm not going to have to live in this circle forever, am I?" She moved to where he had directed, shifting to lay on the floor and wait.

Solomon gave a brief nod to Mackenzie's threat of bodily harm, but couldn't help but chuckle, " I don't plan on angering anyone here. Least of all a god's mouthpiece." Solomon said as he began drawing the last remaining pieces of the circle onto Ashley-May directly over her unborn child. " Don't worry this circle isn't going to be your new home. It's a catalyst for the spell. One little Liam will be providing the power for." Solomon explained as he got up and stepped out of the now finished circle. " Alright now... there might be some pain.. The last time I used anything similar to this I was shoving a very angry goat into my knife. Now if everyone would give the circle a wide berth...." Solomon tailed off, giving everyone a moment before holding his hands out towards the circle. Then the spellwork began. Solomon began speaking in Hebrew, usually he would ask God or the heavenly host to help him in casting the spell, but he could afford to do that. So he addressed Liam directly. Asking him or her to use its power to protect not only itself, but it's mother as well. With the incantation complete all that was left was a little bit of magic as a kick start and hopefully the Nephilim would pick up the rest. The magic circle glowed with power as Solomon knelt down and touched the edge of top of the circle which he had inscribed the seal of Solomon, also known as the star of david, into to act as the starting point.

William watched nervously as Ashley-May laid down in the drawn circle, muscles tensing as Solomon began drawing on her skin. Adelaide, though equally concerned, was still transfixed by the spellwork on display. She could sense enough of the strange man's aura to know that his intentions were benevolent enough, though she knew tensions would remain high given the situation. Slowly, Will made his way back to Mac's side, silently interlacing his fingers with her own and giving her a reassuring squeeze as he continued to look on.

"Where did you learn this?" Adelaide asked finally, unable to contain her curiosity any longer.

When the female moved in to a similar motion against him as Emile, Chase leaned into it as well. Despite not being used to it he understood that when in wolf form they interacted much more physically. Right now he didn't particularly want to be alone, even if he'd never admit it to them, so the interaction was welcomed. Even though they both knew of his working with Vitae, but not the extent of it, they were willing to not only move past it but put it away for the moment rather than question him on it and Chase was grateful for that. Not that he planned on keeping quiet about it, Emile would get the truth because the man deserved that much. When the Alpha sped up Chase matched the pace, more than happy to move things along even if his legs might not feel the same for a while.

When they started nearing the encampment a little over an hour later Chase couldn't help but feel a little anxious. Suspecting the pack knew of most of what had gone on in the woods, minus his and Emile's conversation. Which meant they'd be watching him as the group strolled towards Emile's cabin, he didn't want the pity or the attention, and normally it wouldn't have bothered him much but not only was the pack large but he knew of his current vulnerable state. Despite being tired Chase straightened himself out determined not to make it obvious, a small part wishing they'd just take the back end towards the cabin but Emile had a job to do as Alpha, and that meant not sneaking around the back.

Ashley-May listened to Solomon's explanation without really understanding how it would actually be powered by the Nephilim's Grace; honestly she didn't care to know the finer details, she was far more interested in having the knowledge that she and the child would be safe until they could find a way to remove the Grace. She just hoped that way wouldn't include handing it over to a pagan god.

Mackenzie watched as Solomon worked, taking a momentary glance to Will before returning her eyes at the man working. It was unnerving to witness this unraveling before her; that this was happening to her partner.

As they returned to the Pack Emile veered away from the direction of the cabin instead heading for a few of the other pack members already standing and waiting for them. He immediately shifted, speaking as he stood, in French. The men nodded as he seemed to be instructing them, informing them, but none turned to look Chase's way beyond the casual glance, in fact he would find the pack continued on, business as usual. Emile was providing them information on what he needed; the scouts confirmed two people leaving the Colony, as Chase had told him. One they had already found the woman's burned remains and left them there, the other had gone to the town nearby; the car still at a Motel at the outer edge.

Morgan nudged Chase along, back towards the cabin, knowing that Emile would return soon enough; he wouldn't leave the grieving man along more than absolutely necessary. She lead him along to the back of the cabin where she could smell his and Emile clothing, as they came around she could already see Emile's panicked flight from the cabin: door left ajar and clothing strewn about. She wished them she had brought Chase his clothing instead of having him see this.

Solomon watched as the entire circle radiated with a faint crimson hue as his magic worked its way through the circle to the center and over the unborn Liam as the magic flowed into the markings on Ashley-May's skin it had the unfortunate effect of heating up and branding the sigils on her. The circle would glow for a moment until it began to change color, from crimson to a grayish white, starting from the center. The color soon dominated the circle which then began to glow so bright that Solomon had to shield his eyes. It seemed that the Nephilim on some level wanted to stay hidden and lent it's power to the circle. Whether or not that was actually the case remained to be seen.

Chase had watched Emile up until the point the man had shifted, but more or less still paying attention to what was going on with an averted gaze. It seemed clear it involved him, maybe even Emile already putting to work a way to find his fathers killer. He didn't have long to think on it before Morgan ushered him towards the cabin, the scene wasn't one he was used to, door halfway open and clothes strewn about. The Alpha had clearly left in a rush, Chase realized now that the other man was supposed to be catching up on sleep.

The wolf didn't wait long before stepping onto the steps and scooping up the pile of clothes he'd left on the railing, giving a half-glance towards Morgan before padding around to the side of the cabin to shift. Then he stepped back out with nothing but shorts on, his hair was matted and dirty as well as dry and crusty mud across his body. Chase wouldn't dare walk into the cabin like this, "Think I'm just going to rinse off." He'd say towards Morgan after clearing his throat, his voice rather neutral and emotionless, not bothered if she stuck around or left. Then Chase would reach down to twist the hosepipes valve-like handle that turned it on. Water spurting out the end before he could grab it, Chase pulled the hosepipe up to start at the top. Attempting to wet and clean the gunk from his hair, the cold water causing a quick shiver through his body at the sudden temperature change.

The water running down would already get to work on rinsing the rest of him off, not that Chase was going to ignore his body for long. The shorts were getting dirty and soaked but he wasn't bothered for the time being, and his facial hair had some bits that were clinging unknown to him. With the lack of movement his mind was starting to turn once again, the man feeling rather numb as he paused in his rinsing though the water was still running.

William raised an arm to shield his vision from the searing light. Adelaide began to do the same, but her heart dropped into her stomach as she felt an unmistakable sensation from Ashley-May's mind: pain. She could perceive the scalding sensation of the sigils on her unprotected flesh like a distant memory, so she could only imagine the agony the woman herself was in. Eyes wide, she whirled around to face Solomon. "Stop it! You're hurting her!"

Still shielding his eyes Solomon simply said, " If we stop now I can't guarantee what will happen! " Solomon's mind raced to try and figure out why she was being branded. There were only a few reasons why, but he could only confirm what was going on after the circle finished its work. Luckily he didn't have to wait too long as a few moments later the light died out and all there was simply a branded mother and a burned floor. Solomon immediately rushed in to check on her, or more accurately the sigils burned into her flesh. It didn't take much magical probing to figure out what had happened. With a sigh Solomon took a step back. " I'm very sorry she was injured. I built protection into the circle to prevent injury, but I underestimated how much power the nephilim would give off. It's definitely more powerful than Pan and he's the most powerful celestial being I've tangled with. Though whatever god made the warding around the Colony is more powerful than Pan."

The heat from the wards grew across Ashley-May's abdomen but she persisted, gritted her teeth and held on. She needed this done, she and the child both needed the protection that Solomon and his wards to provide and she would do what was necessary to endure. However the heat continued to rise, she closed her eyes as tears of pain scored her cheeks, she was doing everything she could but it grew to a point of pain . She howled in pain, twisting within the painted ward, but making no effort to touch herself or the wards. Fist clenched at her sides.

Mackenzie had started forward, intent on stepping in and helping her partner but Adelaide had shouted at Solomon and the man had made it clear there could be dire side effects should she intervene. She couldn't just stand here and watch, she needed to do something and so she turned and dashed back to the room she and Ash had just been within, searching through the baggage still unpacked until she found Ash's ER kit. Mac returned in time to see the spell having dissipated and Solomon apologizing for injuring her; Ashley-May sobbed in the back ground. Mac shoved the medical kit into Will's hands; he was the most qualified person to help Ash at this time.

Mac advanced on Solomon and upon reaching his side she grabbed him by the shirt and attempted to haul him upwards. "You're sorry?" She growled through gritted teeth, dark eyes glaring at the man. "Not nearly as sorry as I am." Once more the deity that occupied part of her mind provided her with a vision, but didn't disclose the full scene. She had followed, blindly, once more, and Ash paid the price for it. "Get out of this house." She said fighting to keep control, she wanted nothing more than to end this mans life; she knew it wasn't his fault, this was on Hypnos once more. "I don't want to see you again."

Morgan remained within the 'backyard' of the cabin whilst Chase selected to move out of sight for privacy to shift. Nudity never bothered her, but she wouldn't press. Instead she circled twice and settled comfortable in the long grass and sun with a yawn, waiting for Chase to return. He did shifted and partially dressed and indicated he was going to clean up. She knew she didn't need to stay with Chase, neither himself or Emile had requested it of her, but she wanted to. She knew what he experienced had been devastating; she had lost her own mother whens he was young and couldn't remember her, but Emile's partner, the one killed by hunters years ago. That she did recall. The man had been kind and sweet to her, always doting she considered him an uncle even if he wasn't blood; his death had left her torn. She hated hunters for what they had done, what they continued to do, but Emile had been a beacon of strength. Through everything, he had been strong and it had helped her.

Emile waited for the wolves to pack up and go, driving, towards the town nearby; starting their search for the missing colonist to see what they could. They all had Chase's scent and for the most part Joe's. If this man had been in contact with Joe in the last few hours of his life, they would know it. As much as Emile wanted to do this hunt himself, he knew he couldn't, wouldn't leave Chase to grieve alone. He started back to the cabin and around back to where he had left his clothing. To his surprise he found Chase still outside, using the tap to clean off, and Morgan near by in the grass quite. He averted his gaze; Malcolm had warned him about lingering looks in the past, and made his way to collect his clothing. He started to dress, pulling first his jeans up, then his shirt over his head. "I make you food. Then you rest." He stated, voice no longer commanding but still firm.

Solomon held up his hands in mock surrender. " That's fine I'll leave if you want, but I will be checking on your friend on a daily basis to make sure the spell holds. As unfortunate as the branding was it wasn't without purpose. I checked, those sigils are the things that will keep her and her child safe. You wanted a peak at my knowledge well there you go." Solomon said gesturing towards her friend crying on the floor. " Magic comes with a price, and unfortunately it sometimes turns out like this. " Once Solomon was sure there was nothing he could do he gathered up his journal and made his way to the door. " I hope that your child will have a happy life. " Solomon said as he passed Ashley-May.

Eddie waved as Solomon left, never knowing his name or anything. He then looked at Ginny and then at the floor in thought. As she began to leave, he stood and stretched before throwing his things in his backpack and giving chase. "Hey wait!" He shouted. Once he caught up he asked, "What kind of books is he talking about? Just stories or something you can learn from?" Eliasdagood Eliasdagood

It tore William's heart to hear the pained yells escaping from Ashley-May, standing helplessly as he defied the bright light of the circle to watch, unable to tear his eyes away. He could see the distress on Mackenzie's expression as she paused at Solomon's warning, which only deepened his despair. He was surprised when she dashed from the room, but made no move to stop her. The spell seemed to cease, with telltale marks of scalding on Ashley-May's abdomen. Will wasted no time in going to her side, kneeling down to assess her condition. Before he knew it, a trauma kit was being pressed into his hands by Mackenzie. He took it wordlessly, opening it up to find what he needed.

Adelaide spared a quick glance up to see Mac angrily ushering Solomon from the house, no interest in trying to stop her. Instead she knelt at Ash's side, gently lifting her head to cradle it in her lap as she stroked her hair while she sobbed "Shh..." the witch whispered softly.

With the gloves in the bag not being anywhere near his size, Will instead opted to sterilize his hands with rubbing alcohol inside the kit before drying them. He wanted nothing more than to administer a dose of morphine or some other powerful opiate, but his training stopped him in his tracks. The risks for the baby -- even at this early stage of the pregnancy -- were too high. He had no idea if a Nephilim was anywhere near as fragile as a developing human infant, but he wasn't remotely willing to take chances and knew Ash would likely agree.

"Addy, cold water," he said. The woman nodded immediately and gently set Ash's head down before dashing to the kitchen, returning moments later with a large glass of water. Will removed a bottle of extra strength acetaminophen gel caps, pouring four of the large tablets into his hand. With Adelaide's help, he tilted Ash's head upward and allowed her to swallow the pills and as much of the water as she wanted before settling. Using what was left of the liquid, he flushed the skin surrounding the burns. In the moments that followed, he would apply lidocaine to numb the upper layers of skin of her abdomen, much as he had when reapplying the sutures to Mackenzie's back before. Finally, there was nothing left to do but apply a sterile burn dressing, keeping it as loose as possible to allow epidermis to heal properly.

"Magic, huh?" He said as they walked. "How does that work? Can anyone just learn it, or do you have to be something special?" He reached into his bag and pulled out a nugget of platinum the size of a softball. "I'm also kinda looking for a place to sell this stuff, and a lot of it." Eliasdagood Eliasdagood

Ginny shrugs. "I really don't know. That's part of why I want to study it." She explains. She looks over at him as he holds up the metal, not one she's familiar with. "Umm… sorry, no clue. I've only been here a day now."

Ashely-May had not been prepared for the price she had to pay to keep her child safe; however had she known in advance, she still would have done this, regardless of the outcome. She was mildly aware of Will and Addy at her side, but she wondered where Mac was, finding it odd she hadn't been the first to come to her side. Slowly the pain started to subside, enough that her mind cleared. She drank the provided water, taking the pills provided.

Mac, with Solomon now out of the hours turned back horrified at what she had done. This was her fault! Once more she had injured a friend, a love because she hadn't had all of the information. She clenched her fists, ready to find her contingency plan and try and capture a god, she turned to leave the room but Ash's voice stopped her.

"Mac?"

She froze in her tracks, dark eyes turned to regard her partner still on the floor. "I'm sorry, Ash." Voice trembled. "This is my fault, but I'll make it right."

Chase was pulled back to the present moment by Emile's voice rather abruptly causing his head to spin and spot Emile dressing himself, Chase finally moving his hands to start cleaning off the rest of himself. Am I in shock? He thought, feeling less than in full control of himself. Despite knowing what was happening, pulling himself out of it was a completely different story. The man swallowed hard knowing he just needed to ride it out for the time being. A part of him wanted to deny the meal, he had no appetite, but for now he didn't have the will or the want to argue with the Alpha. "You don't have to do that." He'd say simply without much meaning behind it, trying not to push the other man.

Chase brushed one hand across his other arm and abdomen, around his sides, then switched hands with the hose to do the same for his other side. Cleaning his back was a hard reach and he couldn't even be sure he'd done it right but he gave it a go before moving on to rinse off the insides of his shorts where some of the dirt had started to gather on its way down because of the fabric.

Eddie fidgeted with the piece, tossing it between his hands. "It's good to hear that I'm not the newest person here! Even if I only got here a day before you..." He said, lightheartedly shrugging.
