"Edgar", though not knowing all the details, had percieved the ritual and the result of it. However he quickly cleansed his mind of any thoughts regarding it, he needed to be focused now. The deity walked up to Brendan, who stood patiently and waited, and nodded a greeting. Assuming that Brendan would like to start he said nothing.

She smiles, shaking his hand. "I'm Ginny Dreamer, nice to meet you! Gotta say, that sounds really interesting. That a normal thing for you?" She asks curiously.

Upon hearing Mackenzie's admission of guilt, a protest rose up in Adelaide's throat but she stifled it. Mac didn't need Addy telling her anything... but she knew who the woman might listen to. She nodded to Will, who was already standing up with much the same idea. He stepped forward to embrace Mac, wrapping his arms around her. "You didn't do this. You were keeping her safe," he whispered.

Adelaide returned a comforting hand to Ash's forehead, brushing at her hair with a reassuring smile.

He smirked. "Kinda. Not too long ago, I was driving down the highway and before I knew it I was blind because of an insane light from the sky. Someone eventually found me and I eventually got better after scales fell off of my eyes. Ever since then.... yea, unusual is normal." Eddie paused for a moment before looking back at Ginny. "How about you? What's your story?" Eliasdagood Eliasdagood

She tenses up a bit, nervous. "Well… I used to have a normal life as well. But you know how it is… they attacked my family. I was the only one to survive." She says, crossing her arms. She was intentionally vague, but she wants to keep lying to a minimum so that when this goes south they can't say they know nothing about her. "I was twelve years old at the time."

"I'm... sorry to hear that." He said, genuinely. For a moment, he thought about what family meant to people, and how he never had a consistent group of people he loved in his life. He had no idea what it meant to lose them. When they got close to the barracks, he moved forward to open the door for her, unsure if she wanted him to come inside, or if she thought he was just walking with her. Eliasdagood Eliasdagood

She offers a small smile, stepping inside. "Thanks." She murmurs. "It's really good to have people to talk to again. I've been alone for a really long time." She tilts her head. "So, you in here too, or have they set you up with a house?"

"Oh, no you and... Solomon I guess are the only people I've spoken to thus far. I've just been looking around and acting like I fit in, they haven't set me up with anything." He said shrugging. Still fidgeting with the nugget, he reached behind himself with both hands to unzip the backpack and put it back in as he said, "Not that I'm ungrateful, I just don't know who is in charge or who to talk to." Eliasdagood Eliasdagood

She nods, understanding. "Yeah. When I came in, they had me talk to councilman Hendrix, if that helps at all." She replies, hoping to help him out a bit. Hostilities aside, she rather likes Will. He saw her as someone worth at least trying to save.

Himiko looked towards Jordan who had already put a hand on Hypnos's shoulder and then to Da Ji who seemed more concerned with whether or not Thanatos's hands were clean. Neither of them seemed too worried about walking into the unknown territory of someone they didn't truly know if they could trust. She pushed her reservations side and took Hypnos's hand and hoped for the best, after all Jordan was there and if anyone could pull off an improvised escape it would be him.

"I know." Emile answered simply as he climbed the wooden steps to the open back door of the cabin. He knew Chase was not asking him for anything: not be fed, or housed, or watched over, but the man would get it regardless. He was part of Emile's pack, part of his family regardless of how he came to the pack. It was their agreement, their understanding. If he had thought Chase, at any time, posed a threat to his pack he would have handled it then. He knew, or at least part of him knew, that Chase had been a double agent, working for Vitae for intelligence on the pack, but Emile had nothing to hide.

It had certainly been disappointing to learn his thoughts had been true, there had been hope that he was wrong, that Chase had honestly wanted to know what being a wolf and being part of a pack was like; that even perhaps the mans flirtation in return had been true. Now it was a simple wait and see game. Everything Chase had told him to this point could be false, a way of getting closer to learn more and Emile wasn't certain where he stood with the other man any longer. He returned outside the cabin door a moment later to place a towel over the railing for Chase to dry off with before, heading back inside to do as he said he would: make the man some food.

Ashley-May noted the pain started to subside, no longer searing as it had been. With the help from Adelaide she pushed herself up with a wince, feeling the pull at her burnt flesh. She reached for and started to drag her shirt back over her head. "He's right, Mac. You didn't know this would happen." She said once her shirt had been returned to her torso. She gave Addy an appreciative smile, knowing it was probably difficult to suddenly enter into this very odd partnership the four of them had developed over the last week. "Please don't blame yourself Mac, even if you did know and told me I still would have done it."

Mackenzie winced and stiffened as Will's arms wrapped around her, she wanted to fight, wanted to turn away. This was her burden, her fault and she would make it right. She gave up the idea of turning away from Will, instead leaning against him for support. Dark eyes turned to Ash as she redressed, but she could still see the pain in her partners eyes. "I'm sorry Ash. I should have known. I should have thought.... I watched them kill you. Dozens of yous. Over and over again. I wasn't thinking and I panicked. There is always a price and you shouldn't have paid for my mistake."

Chase finished rinsing himself off in the backyard area, glancing towards the resting form of Morgan nearby. Still feeling the need to apologize, though he opted against it. Not only not to wake or bother her but because he couldn't bring himself to say the words just yet. Instead the man walked towards the back porch, grabbing the towel Emile had left out for him. The man took his time drying off, trying to make sure he wasn't going to track anything into the cabin when he went inside. That and a part of him didn't want to truly face the Alpha waiting inside. Chase pulled the towel around his front as he slipped off the soaked shorts and tied it around him, leaving the shorts out to dry on the railing.

Silently he moved up the steps and opened the back door, slipping inside with the towel around his waist. The smell of cooking food hitting his nose quickly, he looked towards the man cooking nearby before walking further into the cabin, heading straight for his bag which was still parked by the couch. Chase crouched, digging through it for a moment, realizing he was going to have to do something about his clean clothes situation soon enough. With a t-shirt and pair of cargo shorts pulled out he stepped around to the other side of the small wall to give himself some privacy before changing into them.

Afterwards he left the towel on the back of one of the wooden chairs in the kitchen area, standing awkwardly and unsure of what to do until he just took a seat in the same chair. Emile would have forced him to the table eventually to eat anyways. Chase leaned over the table resting both elbows on it, one hand running through his soggy hair while the other propped his head up. His earlier anger had abated, both because he had no reason to be towards Emile or Morgan, and he was just too spent to stay that way. He was plenty angry but expressing it served no purpose at the moment. With his eyes currently glued to the table below and the only sounds were Emile's cooking, Chase finally spoke up. "They don't know where this place is, for what it's worth." It was true, there was no immediate threat because Chase had never told Mackenzie and Will where the camp was, and they'd never asked.

William was relieved when Mac leaned against him, his arm wrapping around her shoulder gently. Her apology to Ashley-May twisted at his heart as he shook his head, "If we hadn't done this ritual, it wouldn't have just been Hypnos's copies that were in danger," he said softly. "What you did gave us more time and probably saved Ash's life."

Adelaide nodded in agreement, still resting a supportive hand on Ashley-May's shoulder. "No one here can blame you for not predicting every possible outcome, Mac... yourself included. You did the right thing."

Brendan nodded as Edgar approached him outside the REC center where the remainder of Vitae still milled about eating breakfast and conversing about what had just been told to them. "Thank you, I didn't want to pull you from what you were doing, but I have a few things to attend to today and I wanted to be certain I could greet you. Welcome to Vitae," He gave an apologetic shrug. "Not the best of welcomes, I am sure, but I certainly hope this doesn't deter you from staying." He nodded back beyond the REC center, "I am certain the gate guard directed you to the barracks, you can settle there with the remainder of our single hunts. At this time we really only have homes set up for families, but we are working towards renovating the local motel to serve as apartments going forward. Later we can speak more about getting you into either guard duty or part of my team. Did you have any questions?"

Emile nodded but didn't regard Chase as he spoke about what he had given Vitae, if this was where he wanted to go for conversation than so be it. He finished assembling the quick meal for the man: a fried egg sandwich and some of the re-heated bacon Chase had made Emile in the morning. He turned and brought the plate to the table, setting it before Chase but didn't sit himself, instead moved to lean against the counter, regarding Chase carefully before speaking.

"Do Vitae know about my man inside?" He said slowly, once more taking care not to confuse verbs in English; "Is he now in danger because of this?" He needed to know if he needed to move forward his plans; he would not endanger someone he promised to keep safe. He had made promises to his inside man that he would come for them, that he would keep them safe and give them freedom.

Ashley-May gave Adelaide's hand a gentle and thankful squeeze, she was already starting to feel better, the pain seeming to fade, but she had little doubt it had more to do with the child within than with the medical aide provided. She pushed herself up, unsteadily at first, to her feet before closing the gap between herself and where Will held Mac in place. "They're both right," She said, even with Will already holding Mac she slipped her arms around her partner, leaning against her and the man both. "You save the both of us; they were coming and you did exactly what you needed to do Mac. Thank you." She leaned in a kissed Mac's cheek. "I'm fine, I promise you. Baby Liam... or Lee-Ann is already healing me."

Mackenzie winced seeing Ash rise, knowing that she should be resting, she came to lean against the two of them and she gave a sad smile. "Okay." She said weakly, she still felt the sting of guilt knowing this had been her failure. "You should be laying down Ash," She said after a moment, but didn't want to leave either of their embrace. "You need to rest."

William smiled as Ashley-May approached, lending her support to assuaging Mac's guilt, though the medic in him was watching the woman carefully for any sign of overdoing it so soon after her injury. He was surprised she was able to move around unassisted after the relatively meager pain relief he had administered her. It made him suspect that she was being entirely truthful when she said that the Nephilim was already aiding her recovery, which was a relief.

Adelaide watched the exchange with a quiet smile, clasping her hands in front of her as she waited patiently for the moment to pass. After the stress of the last few minutes -- from what had happened in the Beast to Solomon's ritual -- she didn't mind being the third -- or rather, fourth -- wheel in exchange for the relative peace and quiet.

"She's right," Will said gently to Ash after Mac recommended that she rest. Regardless of whatever the Nephilim might be doing to help, his own mind wouldn't be set at ease until the woman was taking some time to heal and recover.

Ashley-May only glanced briefly to Will as he backed up his girlfriend in regards to getting rest but she nodded. "We both should, actually." She said then, slipping her hand into Macs and giving it a squeeze. "She had a vision, I heard her tell you." She looked pointedly to her partner as she was gearing up and excuses. "And you need to fill me in with what happened with Allison."

Mac frowned but sighed, nodding slightly. "I'll go get her caught up," She said after a moment, looking up to Will. She stood up in her toes and gave his cheek a kiss. "Maybe Brendan has heard from Thomas?" She didn't want to stop searching for the answer to what had happened to Joe. She gave Ash's hand a squeeze in return, not wanting to leave Will but somehow she thought Ash might not enjoy sharing a bed with her and Will.

William nodded -- he'd be more at ease knowing Mackenzie and Ashley-May were both resting safely at the house. He leaned into Mac's kiss, "I'll go check in with him," he said. "You two get some rest. Call me if anything comes up, okay?" he gave the two of them a parting hug before stepping back to turn toward Adelaide. "Addy, do you mind--"

"--getting Elijah caught up?" she said with a knowing smile. Will bowed his head and she nodded. "Of course I don't." After a moment's pause, she narrowed her eyes. "You did leave him conscious, right?"

William rolled his eyes, turning on his heel to walk out of the house. Adelaide shrugged at the dismissal, an idea striking her. Glancing around the foyer, she managed to find a notepad and pen. She quickly scrawled down her cell number, handing it over to Mac. "If you two ever need to get in touch with me and Will or Eli aren't around... don't hesitate to call. Now go get some rest. It seems I have the enviable task of spending more time with the most stubborn man in Vitae..." she remarked under her breath albeit lightheartedly, heading for the door.

Chase eyed the food for a second, until Emile spoke up. "Yes, they know." Chase allowed his hand to slip through the rest of his hair and in turn sat up straighter with the lack of support, knowing full well that Emile wouldn't like what he heard. So Chase continued in attempt to recover, "I wasn't reporting back to the council." Well, technically Will was a member, and Chase had no clue if the man was telling them everything. But he'd warned the man of the council possibly being a bit backwards. "It was..." Chase paused briefly, locking eyes with Emile, momentarily wondering if this was a good idea, despite the current feelings towards those two. "...Malcolm's daughter and Hendrix, their newest councilor, but I warned him about the council." Whether it had been taken under advisement was a different story. Until now Chase had opted not to touch the food, but grabbed one of the pieces of bacon and started chewing on it.

Ashley-May took Adelaide's cell number with a nod. "Thank you." She said quietly and offered a smile before walking with Mac, arm slung over her partner's shoulder as they made their way back to the room. As much as she wanted to ask Addy not to tell Elijah what had happened she knew it wouldn't be fair to keep him in the dark. She didn't want the mans pity, didn't want him to change his mind because if what had happened. He had made his decision, for better or worse and she wasn't interested in going back.

Back inside the bedroom she crawled back onto the bed and started to clear her research out of the way, Mac soon joining her. "Tell me," Mac said, stretching out with a sigh beside her. "This thing with Eli, the dream. You think he's running scared?" Ash was more than aware that she and Will had shared a dream that resulted in Mac running. She turned an even glare to her partner. "We're not talking about it." She said sternly, but shifted to cuddle into Macs arms when she offered them.

Emile watched Chase went on to continue explaining what exactly what he was doing for Vitae in the pack. The mention of Skye made him growl, her knowledge of the pack and whatever else Chase had told her could work against him, he pushed himself from the counter then and moved to take a seat opposite Chase. He reached across the table and took half the sandwich he had made for the man. He took a big bite before chewing and considering. "You tell her about Franklin et his Nest?" This could be a problem if the wolf hunter knew what would happen going forward.

William made his way by the Command Tent first in search of Brendan, but found it empty save for Maxwell. The aide stood in the back of the tent, gathering up various documents. He nodded to Will upon seeing him enter, informing him that Brendan was likely still at the Rec Center for the gathering following Joe's death. Thanking him, Will stepped out and headed in the direction of the Rec Center. He saw more than a few figures milling around in the area outside the building, but before long he spotted the Councilman speaking to another man Will didn't recognize.

Will stopped several feet away, patiently waiting for the two men to finish. As eager as he was to find out if Brendan had any news about Thomas, interrupting his conversation with a stranger would cause more harm than good.

upload_2017-8-7_23-25-12.jpeg upload_2017-8-7_23-25-53.jpeg
Elijah had managed to grab a precious few minutes' sleep after Will left, his thoughts initially being too scattered to make sense of anything. His partner's words had struck home somewhere inside him, part of them ringing true... but that didn't mean he would change his mind. How could he, after coming this far? His reasons and fears that had brought him to drive Ash away were still there at the forefront of his mind and he seriously doubted she would be interested in forgiving him regardless of his own thoughts on the matter.

He awoke with a start at the sound of a knock at his door. His hand subconsciously began reaching for the dagger on his end table when he heard Adelaide's muffled voice on the other side. "Eli? Are you awake?"

"Yes," he called out flatly. "Come in."

Addy entered slowly, her eyes on the floor. Elijah regarded her coolly, "Are you here to shout some more, perhaps continue this tag-team you and Will have going?"

The witch shook her head slowly. "Don't worry. I'm not here to bicker... something happened, after we left."

Elijah, hearing the woman's tone, immediately frowned. "What is it, Addy?"

Adelaide took a deep breath before answering. "Mac had a vision. It showed the angels slaughtering the copies of Ash that Hypnos created. They were closing in on her real location. Mac knew Solomon was the only one who could help her," she paused, initially unsure if Eli was familiar with the man, but she felt vague recognition at the name in his surface thoughts and forged on. "Will brought him to the house and he managed to scrape together one hell of a ritual -- one I'd never seen or heard of before. He used the Nephilim's Grace for fuel to create new, more powerful wards."

"Is Ash okay?" Elijah asked insistently, fists curling up in the hem of the blanket.

Addy nodded. "For the most part. There was a side effect of the ritual that Solomon didn't expect. The power of the magic... it branded sigils onto her body." Her eyes fell to the ground, her voice softening. "She was in a lot of pain, but Will took care of her and the baby is helping her heal. She's resting, now."

Eli let out a breath he didn't realize he'd been holding, running a hand through his hair in mild relief. As much as he hated to hear about Ash being hurt, he knew it was preferable to the alternative... though part of him hated himself for being stuck in this bed while the entire incident happened. However, Adelaide's mention of Solomon and his knowledge piqued his interest. "This Solomon. Tell me everything you know about him and his ritual."

Addy looked briefly surprised, but nodded, taking a seat in the chair alongside his bed as she began her recounting of the hectic few minutes...

Chase shook his head, deciding to grab the other half of the sandwich before Emile took it upon himself to eat the whole thing. The conversation was a slight blur but he remembered enough, "I told them not to trust Franklin after what you told me about him but that just served to piss her off." Right after Will had given him the news, there hadn't been time to talk any further than that. Chase sunk back in his chair with sagged shoulders, taking a bite of the sandwich. "I told them pretty much anything you told me on the First Sin." He added with a frown, knowing that he was telling Emile about how he betrayed the Alpha just served to make this more uncomfortable and painful. "He's involved somehow, already visited the colony. Apparently he's the one who alerted them to what I was. I don't have a clue how though."
NanLia NanLia

Emile nodded slowly but grimaced hearing that they had been alerted to Franklin and that it had angered Skye, he hoped Franklin's confidence in his breaking of her was merited otherwise there would be issues on the coming full moon he truly wanted to avoid. Chase noted that he had mentioned the First Sin, and Emile wondered at whether the two he had been speaking to had already known. It was enough for now, the information Chase had supplied, he would get a message to Franklin to issue his warning that they may be on to his intent but otherwise his plans did not change.

"I will ask my man inside what Vitae do with ton pére, if they have funeral, we go." He said as he finished the sandwich then brushed his hands together to rid himself of the crumbs. "After this you do not leave pack, you do not leave me. Not until apres, after Vitae is done." As much as he wanted to give Chase whatever freedom he wanted but for the moment it wasn't plausible. His features softened slightly as he continued. "The pack do not know. Only moi et Morgan. She will no speak to anyone. If you choose to stay wit me. Wit le meute, you do not have to tell." He offered Chase a sad smile. "But pack will not be angry if you tell. They will love their pack brother the same."

Chase eyed the other man incredulously when Emile mentioned going to the funeral. If Emile returned to Vitae he'd be putting himself at a huge risk, not to mention Chase wasn't sure if he'd even be safe himself. The Alpha continued on with his terms of Chase's staying. He couldn't leave the pack, or Emile's side for that matter, and while Chase didn't blame him in the least it didn't help with his current remorse. Knowing that he'd lost the mans trust, despite always knowing that was going to happen.

Chase's head sort of lolled against the back of the chair as Emile went on about possibly telling the pack. Though he couldn't help but hang up on a specific part of the words, If you choose to stay wit me. Chase couldn't decide if he should read into it, or if this was just a part of Emile's not so great at translating. Either way it was quickly shoved out of the way not long after, and he reached up to pinch the bridge of his nose and close his eyes. It was a lot to think about, once he'd released it and opened his eyes he gave the other man an attempted quick flash of a smile in return. "I'll think about telling them." This more or less answered both questions Emile had asked, confirming that he would stay.

"But," Chase huffed shakily, leaning forwards once again and rubbing the flat ends of his palms against his eyes both for pressure and to wipe away any lingering wetness. "I don't know if I could go to his funeral." Chase commented on the matter truthfully if Joe was to have one before fishing into his pocket and placing his phone on the table. Not only would he be able to ask with it, but if Emile was set on all but cutting Chase off he clearly wouldn't want him to have his phone. He could ask Will easily, maybe even try to fix this whole shitshow of a situation while he was at it. But Chase wouldn't do any such thing without Emile's say-so currently, "I can still contact them."

With Edgar seemingly otherwise content with the information Brendan provided him, he shook the mans hand as he patted him on the shoulder. "Well, I'll let you get settled into the barracks. Once we have every settled for Joe this evening I'll be sure to send Councilmen Hendrix your way; he is always looking for more recruits to help out with our growing needs." He smiled politely and nodded to the man, stepping away and towards Will as it was clear the other Councilmen needed his attention.

Once away from Edgar he nodded back the mans way as he approached Will and started walking with him back towards his truck. "Another hunter for you to speak to later, possibly tomorrow. I'd like to get this business with Joseph settled first." He said grimly. "Did you get a hold of his son? Will be be able to attend the funeral?"

Once more Emile nodded as Chase mentioned that he would consider informing the pack about his working with the colony. Emile certainly would have nothing to say about it himself; regardless of what decisions Chase had made he was still a pack member and would treated no less by himself or the rest of the pack, this he would ensure. He grimaced as Chase mentioned not being able to go to his fathers funeral and Emile growled lowly. He was already regretting his decision, his words already said to the other man. With a shake of his head he leaned forward and tapped the phone on the table. "You contact, you find out if they do something for ton pére. If hunters will not, Pack will." He promised, nudging the phone closer.

"If you go, to see the funeral, you can stay there, if you want." He frowned, knowing he had not said what he wanted. "You go where you want. I not hold you here. If you want to be with hunters then you can go. If you want to be with pack, here with me, you can stay. If you want to leave..." He waved his hand off in a random direction. "Then go, after you are healed. I will not send you to Vitae alone, but I cannot go. The Council.... Skye -Malcolm's daughter. They kill me." He paused then, if Chase wanted to go and perhaps didn't feel safe alone he wanted to send a member with him that could handle themselves and would not be easily identified by the Council or other hunters. His first thought was Malcolm but that would trigger the Council and many others within the colony. None knew Brody's face, not since he had grown, but he had little doubt that Brody would have his own agenda once on the other side of the gates.

Grey eyes met Chase again and he nodded. "If you go to funeral, I send Aleshanee with you. She watch your back, they do not know her."

William nodded at Brendan's instruction, making a mental note to touch base with the potential new talent once things calmed down. He grimaced slightly at the mention of Chase, glancing down at the ground briefly. "Chase knows... but he didn't take it well. He bolted on us. I'll try to give him a call later, but he wasn't in the mood to talk."

He sighed, forcing himself to move past the uncomfortable subject. "I wanted to talk to you about Thomas. Alison was a dead end as far as finding Joe's killer goes... which leaves him as our only lead. Have you heard anything from him since he left?"
