Mackenzie nodded at Will's plan, or what he was formulating as a start of one; they needed to be able to get Thomas out of the public setting to handle him without outside influence. She knew the car he drove so they would know within a few minutes of being within the parking lot if the hunter was there or not. She fumbled with her phone, attempting to first add then send Adelaide a text

-Will and I are checking out a place where Thomas might have gone. Ash is sleeping, can you check in on her later please?-

She set the phone aside, looking up to Will to continue fleshing out how this was going to work when the phone buzzed in response. She glanced down at the message and frowned.

-I'll be fine. I don't need a babysitter.-

It took a moment to understand exactly what she had done, and how she had managed to message Ash instead of Adelaide, instead of replying to Ash she attempted a second time to text the psychic with the same message she had sent Ash accidentally. Almost immediately she received a reply to Ash once more.

-OMG Mac. I'll tell her. Trying to sleep here.-

Mac shook her head and stuffed the phone in her pocket, noting that when they were done with Thomas she needed more lessons from Will. "Any idea what the Council, or us, are going to do with him after the fact? We pick up, drag him back then what?" This was human after all, it was one thing to torture a demon in a meat suit for info; she doubted many there would appreciate her using her talents on a fellow hunter.... again.

Emile smiled sadly at Chase's apology, while he appreciated the context of it, he well and truly hoped his point came across through his broken English. He vowed he would do better, learn more and close the gap between them in this issue. He wanted to talk to Chase and express himself without needing to supplement French words in, or use English word that were not right but close to his point. More importantly he wanted fully understand every word that was spoken to him; if Chase made a joke, or sarcastic remark he didn't want to be lost in the translation in his head. The younger man was sitting forward and Emile adjusted accordingly, leaned back to give the man space, though his hand fell to Chase's knee as he continued to speak, thumb gently rubbing over the material of his jeans.

He gave a light chuckle as Chase commented on his type in a light manner and Emile nodded slowly. "Oui," He admitted. "I like strong willed, open minded feisty men." He gave a shrug and an unapologetic smile. Outside the cabin he could hear a car pulling up, doors of the vehicle opening and closing and the voices of both Brody and Malcolm conversing. He knew they had little time left before they would be intruding, before their captor would be here for Chase to confront. He swallowed, uncharacteristically nervous but he pushed through. He leaned forward, pressing his lips to Chase's to deliver a soft kiss, the hand that had played on Chase's knee rising to cup the younger man's cheek, thumb now stroking along the stumble on his jaw.

William stared straight ahead at the road as Mackenzie asked about Thomas's fate, assuming everything went according to plan. He had wondered the same thing, but still didn't have a definitive answer for himself or Mac. "We don't kill him... not immediately anyway. We need to know who else he might be working with. For that reason, we question him ourselves first, before we get back to Vitae. There's no telling who at the Colony might be with him. We'll bring him in for their judgement after we get what we need."

He knew Mac had left the last part of her question unspoken. He remembered the recounting of Christopher's torment at the hands of her and Franklin. Will didn't blame her for that -- she was under the Den Master's influence, he knew -- but he didn't want to put her in a situation where that would ever be needed of her again. "If it comes to making him talk... we have other options. Addy's helped us out in interrogations before and Thomas won't be ready for her."

Chase smiled with an inward chuckle as Emile noted down his type, at least the Alpha knew what he liked. A moment later Chase's ears caught the sound of a vehicle, something that was out of place here, and the first he'd heard out near the packs camp. For a brief second he saw that Emile heard it as well, but before his mind could think or his mouth could speak the other man had leaned in. Despite the momentary surprise all thought process was gone the moment their lips met, his own hands rising up to rest on Emile's shoulders. To Chase it seemed as if Emile was simply testing the waters, so he leaned into it a little as he returned the kiss, letting the other man know this was more than acceptable.

Once they parted he gave the man a rather amused and slightly confused look, "You're just full of surprises aren't you?" He had no doubt his face was likely a little red, just as the Alpha's was. Ears once again picking up the movement outside the cabin causing the man's look of confusion to strengthen before he gave the mans shoulders a gentle squeeze and stood to go towards the nearest cabin window curiously. "What's going on?" He'd ask Emile, eyes settling on the vehicle and easily making out the white-haired Beta and his broad shouldered son.

Once more Mackenzie was nodding, she hadn't considered using Adelaide's talents for this, but they seemed near perfect for what they needed and it meant she could keep her hands clean... ish. She knew they needed him alive and back at the colony, a show of faith for Chase, for the man to know that they had brought resolution to their failure to keep his father safe. But she would get that man back to the colony by name means necessary, and that included bloodshed and broken bones.

She watched the road ahead as they approached the small town and at it's edge the Surly Wench in all it's glory. Immediately she could see Thomas's car, "He's here." she said checking, then rechecking her knives, making sure they were clear in their sheaths.

Emile was relieved at the return of Chase's affection; he was typically a very confident man, but Chase confused him, made him rethink things he would never even had considered in the past. He gave his younger counterpart a familiar grin as his inquiry. "You wait and see." He promised with a chuckle but the other man was soon moving off, headed for the window to look at the scene outside. Emile didn't need to look to know who it was and what they were doing. "Your pack brought you Thomas." He said then, what feeling of pleasure and euphoria dissipating as he watched Chase carefully.

Already Malcolm and Brody were hauling the human hunter from the back seat of the car, the man was fighting; kicking and attempting to pull away but he couldn't out power the wolves. The Guardian and the Beta brought the man around the back of the cabin. Emile rose from where he had been seated, going to open the back door.

"Où voulez-vous lui?" Brody questioned, and Emile pointed to the wooden chair next to the house. The two men forced the hunter to sit in the chair as Emile regarded them both carefully. The scent of blood was evident and he gave a low growl.

"You hurt him?" He questioned and both men shook their heads, "No," Malcolm stated, speaking English as it was clear Emile wanted Chase to know what they were discussing. "He stabbed me, but I'm healing. Nothing mortal." He assured his Alpha.

Thomas remained in the wooden deck chair, glowering and each of the three wolves equally, he knew he was dead, there was no return for him for this and he was attempting to calculate just how to take them out with him.

William nodded with satisfaction as Mackenzie announced that Thomas was at the bar, apparently having recognized the man's vehicle parked outside. He swung the truck into the parking lot, picking a spot that was isolated from immediate view but not too far away from the bar so as to prevent a hasty extraction once they had the man. Putting the truck in park and sparing a quick glance around to ensure they weren't being watched, Will withdrew his pistol to make sure a round was chambered before returning it to its concealed holster at his waistline. A pat to his pocket and ankle confirmed his own blades were in place. "How do you want to do this?" he asked Mac. "He'll be suspicious as soon as he spots either one of us."

d425f2e3c2a448e1a5657bc280dca247.jpg

Chase turned towards Emile in even more confusion, the man hadn't expected them to have grabbed Thomas this soon. Chase followed Emile nostrils flaring towards the back door, pausing a moment to collect himself and breathe before continuing. Of course he wanted to rip the mans head off but he had questions, and he didn't need to do something stupid before he got the answers. Once settled he walked outside and down the steps, eyes centered on the gagged and bound Thomas sitting in the chair. Before the hunter could even turn to look and register the identity of the fourth man he'd been met with a blow to the side of the face. Thomas's head jerked in the opposite direction, disorienting him and possibly cracking a tooth or two, but Chase took care not to break the jaw that needed to speak.

Then Chase took a step back, glancing towards the other men with his face easing up from the contorted anger from before, fingers flexing as he nursed them ever slightly. Chase had to get that out to begin with, it was completely necessary. He could smell the hint burnt flesh from Malcolm's wound, "Silver?" He'd asked though he knew the answer, knowing well that a wound from silver took longer to heal. "Go sit." Chase added flatly as nothing more than a suggestion, a feeling Malcolm wouldn't though. With a threat sitting so near the Alpha his position as Beta meant he would want to stay near, plus Chase had a feeling the man had too much pride. "Thank you both for doing this." He looked between them, one hand motioning towards the prisoner. He'd not expected Malcolm to be one of those sent to gather Thomas, and he and Brody had a rocky start that hadn't fully been glossed over yet. Despite being thankful and wanting to make sure Malcolm didn't overdo it, Chase was low on patience.

Chase positioned himself just in front of Thomas so the man could look him in the eyes. He practically felt his skin on fire as he kept himself from laying into the hunter, instead he reached out and ripped off the gag roughly. Despite wanting to yell his questions at Thomas he held his tongue, wanting to know what the man would say without any push. The lead wasn't a lead anymore with the smell of Joe on the hunter, and that of dried blood. There was no doubt in Chase's mind that Thomas had done it, and he was already fuming at picturing it in his mind.

For the first time in her hunting career Mac was at a loss. She looked across the truck to Will and gave a slight shrug. "We're at a stand still." She stated, uncertain how to move forward. "If we go in and he sees us he can cause and scene and run. But how long will he be in there for? We have the option of sitting out here and waiting," She paused slight smirk on her lips. "And actually waiting, not.... playing, for him to leave on his own but that could be hours from now."

She shifted in her seat, leaning forward to look through the parking lot, noting the amount of cars. "There are a lot of people here," She glanced back to Will. "Do you want to go in, take a look and I'll wait by his car?"

Emile watched with concern as Chase strode for the door, he was proud of the young wolf as he seemed to settled his anxiety and rage before stepping out of the threshold into the 'back yard' for what it was. He knew this was a necessary step in Chase's healing process; one that Chase needed to do in what ever fashion his heart desired so that he could heal. Emile certainly hoped he would be stronger than himself, be able to resist the urge of killing the man that had murdered his father. Emile certainly regretted killing and eating the heart of the hunter that had killed his love; though he doubted he was strong enough now to resist doing the same thing had done those years ago.

The three men watched Chase pummel the hunter seated in the chair without any change of expression; though Malcolm and Brody both exchanged glances as they were clearly surprised that Chase would become violent with another hunter from his very own colony. He gave Malcolm and order to go and sit, a command that sounded very much like how Emile would speak to him. He didn't reply but both he and his son glanced up to the top of the stair where Emile still stood. Emile nodded to the two men's silent inquiry, watching them turn to leave. He descended the steps to stop at the bottom and take a seat, elbows on his knees as he leaned forward to wait and watch.

Thomas's head lolled to the side after being struck, thoughts lost in confusion only to be brought back by pain. The gag was removed and he leaned forward to spit blood from his mouth. He grimaced and glared up at Chase as he stood before him. He waited in silence as the, now confirmed, wolf started back at him; he had wanted to sit in silence -let them torture and beat him to death for all he cared, he wouldn't give them the satisfaction, but he couldn't resist.

"You piece of shit dog." He growled, pulling at his restraints. "Thinking you could come into my home and threaten my people!"

Chase had been keeping it together up until the point where Thomas chose his words. He let out an angry growl as a response before moving in and grabbing hold of Thomas, one hand pulling at the clothing on the mans shoulder and the other hooked around one of his restrained arms. Chase yanked the man from the chair forcefully, not stopping the momentum and even speeding it up so that the hunter had a mere second to try and get his feet down before falling forwards face first, and with his arms bound and no balanced feet he'd hit the ground with no way to break the fall.

"You're home? You're people?" Chase scoffed out a frustrated laugh, then crouching down he'd place his right knee against Thomas's back to hold the man down. He knew full well it would hurt with the amount of weight he was using but for the moment he didn't care, he wanted it to hurt. Leaning slightly to the left so the two could see each others faces Chase angrily gripped the back of Thomas's neck with his right hand."You spilled innocent blood in you're home Thomas, my father was one of you're people! I was supposed to be one of you're people, Vitae was supposed to be our home too!"

"So how'd you do it huh?!" He asked, putting more pressure onto the back of Thomas's neck. "Did he see you coming?! I doubt that because if he had then my father would have put you on your sorry ass faster than I did!"

William smirked at Mackenzie's implication that they would have to wait without "distracting" one another. He had half a mind to playfully protest, to claim that such behavior wouldn't seem out of place in the parking lot of a bar & motel... but settled for a shake of his head. After she finished speaking, Will nodded. "I'll take a quick look around inside." He reached past Mac to open the glove box, withdrawing a baseball cap from his days in the Army, sliding it over his head. Knowing there was a chance -- a small one -- that Thomas would leave the bar and run into Mac without him, he paused. Leaning forward, he brought his lips to hers for a brief moment before drawing away. "Be careful."

With that, he turned to open the driver's side door, stepping outside and shutting it behind him before proceeding into the bar. There was no bouncer stationed outside, likely no need with such an out-of-the-way establishment. He received barely more than a few indifferent glances from those patrons nearest the door before they went back to their business. Over the next few minutes, Will sat at the far end of the bar, ordering a drink to appear slightly less out of place. As he sipped idly at the beer, his eyes scanned the interior of the establishment surreptitiously. Thomas wasn't at the bar, nor did he occupy any of the building's darkened corners. Eventually Will even went so far as to check the men's bathroom -- empty. Growing more frustrated by the second, he finally fell to his last resort.

Approaching the bartender, William told the bulky, middle-aged man that he was a friend of Thomas. After dropping his name and describing him, it didn't take long for recognition to dawn on the bartender's face. He informed Will that he'd seen him speaking to a gray-haired man before leaving the bar nearly an hour ago. Will thanked the man for his time, paying his tab before leaving the building. He made his way toward Thomas's car, approaching Mac. "He's not here," he said under his breath. "He was seen leaving almost an hour ago. Bartender said he was talking with an older guy, but didn't recognize him."

7ZxTzje.jpg

Emile grimaced as he heard the hunter speak to Chase; he may not have a full grasp on the English language but the venom and hatred the man spit at the wolf was the same in every language. He was not surprised by Chase's reaction, lifting the man and aggressively downing him into the tall grass. He made no effort to stop Chase, even as the young man knelt on the humans back, no doubt causing pain and distress. The hunter deserved it and worse, so far as he was concerned.

Thomas hissed in pain at the weight of the wolf on his back, breathing was difficult but he still pulled on the restraints. He spit the dirt and grass from his mouth as he heard Chase tell him who his people are; that he was one of them. "You..." He panted, voice strained as he couldn't draw a deep breath. "You are a monster. And Joe? He deserved it for letting you live!" He attempted to laugh but instead coughed, more blood and spittle escaping his lips. He spat. "I didn't have enough time to figure out who let you two in, he'd be dead too if I had the chance."

Mackenzie returned Will's gentle kiss, "You too." She had no doubt he would be safer in the bar fleshing out Thomas than he would be standing in the parking lot waiting for the man should he escape. She watched him head for the bar and she went to the other man's car. Hand pressed to the hood to find the vehicle cold; he'd been here some time. She slowly did a tour around the car looking for any evidence he'd come back to it since arriving -trash from take out, or dropped change but she found nothing. She leaned against the hood and waited, eyes on the front entrance and what looked like could house a side entrance down an alley way beside the building.

She waited, her anxiety building; what if there were more like Thomas in the bar? What if Will had walked right into a trap? She didn't want to leave her post; let Thomas get away, but if Will took any longer she would need to go in and find him. The front door opened and Will stepped out, she was both relieved and annoyed to see him. She nodded as he stated he wasn't inside, but the news that he had left with someone else, someone the bar tender didn't know made her frown. "Possibly Mur in a new meat suit?" She put out; this was a bar that hunters and other people in the colony frequented, if Thomas left with a strange face it was a possibility. "We should tour the lot, before we give up." She didn't want Chase to show with their hands empty, once more.

William had no idea who the man Thomas had met with could be and Mac's suggestion was as likely as any other. Whoever the mystery figure was, he was involved with the rogue Hunter -- either giving the man a ride in another vehicle... or tying up loose ends. He nodded at Mackenzie's suggestion to scour the lot before they left; it couldn't hurt. He had already looked around to see if there were any surveillance cameras on the outside of the building. Predictably, there were not.

Glancing around to make sure they weren't being watched by any suspicious patrons, Will cast his eyes down toward the ground as he began a search of the lot, fanning outward from Thomas's vehicle. It didn't take long for a dull gleam contrasting against the asphalt at the edge of the lot to catch his eye. He approached and upon seeing the sources, he lightly called out Mac's name. He knelt down to examine the fallen switchblade, its edge coated in a layer of blood that hadn't quite dried yet. More of the viscous red fluid had dripped onto the surrounding asphalt, but not as much as he'd expect based on the likely wound inflicted. He suspected whoever had been stabbed had been able to climb into a waiting vehicle immediately. The asphalt precluded any chance of looking for tire tracks, though.

After Mac arrived, Will gingerly grabbed the switchblade from the ground and held it up, allowing the sunlight to catch the portion of the blade not marred by blood. Examining the dull gleam critically, he grunted. "Plated in silver. Thomas carried one just like this in New York," he mused idly, once again taking a cautious look over his shoulder. "So much for whoever he met here being a friend of his."

d425f2e3c2a448e1a5657bc280dca247.jpg

Chase knew the rest of the pack could likely hear what was going on and what was said, while the details of why he was here weren't being revealed his words did align with being loyal to Vitae. So it might not have taken too much effort to connect the dots if they were listening in. Currently however he didn't care, he was focused solely on the garbage lying below him currently. So far it had just been rage escaping him, until Thomas said that Joe had deserved it for letting Chase live. Those words had cut deeper and truer into what Chase himself believed than anything else. In response his knees pressed harder into the mans back, "So that's why you did it!? He deserved to die for raising me rather than killing me the moment I was born into this world?!" He had to hold back from wanting to end the mans life, a twist of the neck or just the right amount of pressure in a specific spot on his spine and this would be over...

Chase felt Emile's silent eyes on him, knew where the man was located and watching despite not having him in his peripherals. Between Emile being there and knowing how Joe would feel about what he was doing, they were the main reasons he didn't kill Thomas for now. "How about you explain to me how I'm a monster Thomas, tell me exactly what I've done to deserve so much hate from you that you'd go after the only family I've ever known!?"

Club 999

JIZmpao.jpg

Leech sat in Franklin's booth inside the club monitoring the nights events; like most nights nothing was amiss. The other of the Nest still fulfilled their duties; tending bar, keeping track of the donors, and even bouncers to keep out those humans that didn't intend on stumbling into the vampire nest. She lounged in boredom; Leech was never one to feast from the club dwellers, often finding their blood too thin. The Nest did well to keep track of their patrons, even ensuring they only 'donated' only once every three months. The Canadian blood services limited to 56 days but Franklin felt that was too soon, not enough time for the humans to regain the necessary nutrients - but even at three months, ninety some odd days, it still tasted off to Leech.

She watched as the red ribboned patrons were quickly horded, often needing to have a bouncer or nest member stave off an over zealous vampire. Not all of the patrons of Club 999 belonged to the Nest, but all certainly obeyed it's rule. There were an assortment of supernatural beings within the club this evening, more werewolves than normal too, given the full moon was expected any day now. Once she used to keep track of it's cycle, when the Pack threatened their borders, but with Skye gone so that threat left too.

Northerna
Underground Warehouse

mvQIQww.jpg
3FwN9eU.jpg

Franklin paced the warehouse slowly, his silver eyes looking over the items and shipping crates being loaded into the first of several semi's that would be headed to the colony in the South. At his side Clay paced with him, looking over the manifest. Skye had called early that morning, asking for his assistance, the Nest's help and he would give it.

There was a Djinn within Vitae; a creature of great rarity that intrigued Franklin as to how it came across the colony to start with, and why it was there to begin with. He would soon enough find out once he and the remaining Nest members went South to assist the colony with the Pack come to lunar event. He turned to regard Clay, a member of his Nest for years now; he had once thought to lose his Skye to the former man standing next to him. When Clay had come to ask of him for life eternal -with his mate Leech, he had thought he had won. But in truth it had been a breaking point for Skye; and turn for her for the worse -in his opinion.

"How long until it's being sent?" He questioned Clay and watched as he glanced at his wrist, then to the containers being loaded.

"Another hour and it will be on the road to the airport. Chief Hernandez says the transport flight will be ready.... so eight hours after that it'll be in Nebraska and at Vitae." Clay looked back to the Den Master and could see the concern on his face. "He assures us that he has bypassed the security on both ends. No customs, no random checks. It'll get to them and they'll be able to feed the Djinn; she'll be fine." He knew it wouldn't satisfy Franklin, it was the best he could do.

Franklin held out his hand for the manifest and clip board and when it was delivered he nodded towards the elevators. "Go join the others for the night, nothing more we can do down here."

Tara hums to herself, helping the others load the blood into the truck. She's never encountered or heard of a djinn before today, but she asked a few of the others, and they sound very interesting. She's never been a sadistic person, but she has to respect the pure insidious nature of the way they hunt fascinates her, and she'd love to meet whoever this is in person. She's surprised the hunters let such a dangerous creature live, to be honest.

Mackenzie followed Will's lead turning to move the opposite direction of himself to cover more ground than if they moved together. It wasn't long before he was calling her name and she came to his side. She regarded the blade; she didn't remember seeing it in New York, but she had spent most of that time having her skull pounded by the pained goddess inside the building. She frowned at the knife. "So not his friend ... and maybe even a wolf?" She paused, glancing to Will. "Call Chase." If the man got here first, if he got to Thomas before they did, some how, they needed to stop him from killing the hunter off.

Thomas grunted as the breath was forced out of his lungs by Chase's added pressure; it was not lost on him that the wolf could easily crush him without a second thought. "Your...you're a wolf!" He coughed between breaths, unable to breath deep enough to say much more, he glared up to the man above him. "You don't have a soul. You don't have feelings." He struggled to move, the edge of his vision darkening, he needed to breath. "You're here with the pack! Your threaten our lives and wonder why I shouldn't kill you, and those that keep you safe?"

Emile moved from the step then slowly, this was Chase's choice his decision to make but he wanted to make sure the younger man knew how close he was pushing to human. "Honiahaka." He said cautiously. "Come back." He reached out to place a hand gently on Chase's shoulder.

With Clay on his way out of the warehouse, Franklin turned his attention to the remaining members of his Nest still loading the truck with the final necessary crates; this shipment was being sent two days earlier than he had planned, and had honestly wanted to send some of the Nest with it to make certain Hendrix understood that the Nest, that Northerna was going to be present for the issue between the Pack and the colony. With the loading done and the semi's door being pulled closed, Franklin turned over the manifest to the driver with a short nod before turning to the remainder of his nest. "That should be everything for tonight, you can carry on to what ever it was you were doing before." He knew some had been pulled from their off time to come and help with the shipment, while others were simply here because that was their job at this point.

He turned and headed for the same elevators that Clay had used only a short while ago, though he would not go to the club, instead the lounge above the club to relax for the remainder of the evening and over see some of his more pressing items to do with his various companies, locally and globally.

Tara smiles, dipping her head to him, and decides to head to the lounge as well. It's the one place where she allows herself to be close to humans, since she's not in danger of revealing secrets there.

It's been a long time, but she still remembers the mangled corpse of the man she killed. She's being very careful to never let that happen again, which is why she stays away from humans. She probably has the strength to control herself by now, but she's scared.

She settles down in the lounge, closing her eyes as she takes in the scent of everyone there. She wants to get used to the human scent to reduce the temptation to feed.

Will didn't need to be told twice. Mackenzie had connected the same dots he had. It was entirely possible that Chase had beaten them here, abducting Thomas. He didn't match the description of the man the bartender had seen, but for all he knew that could have been a random patron. A more disturbing thought struck him. He hadn't thought to ask Chase where he'd ended up during their phone conversation, only ensuring that he was unhurt. What if he was with the Pack?

He shook the thoughts away: there was only one way to find out. He hastily pulled his phone from his pocket, finding Chase's name in the contact list and dialing. Will turned to look at Mac as the phone dialed, gesturing back toward the truck before standing up and pocketing the knife as he made his way to the vehicle.

Chase hated it, all he was getting were excuses and not answers. For a moment he wondered if Joe's death was really so senseless. "Do you even hear yourself!? We're hunters, we don't mindlessly kill whoever we want to!" Chase was growling now, aware that Emile had said something but hadn't paid it much mind until he felt the mans hand on his shoulder alongside more words. He took the moment to bring himself down a notch, easing up then releasing his hold on Thomas and standing up whilst taking a deep breath.

Chase turned his head to make eye contact with Emile, giving the man a small nod both thanking him and letting the Alpha know he was fine. Afterwards he'd step a few feet away, staring at the nearby treeline and shaking his head slightly while he rubbed his face with his left hand. If Thomas wanted to pry himself up into a sitting position or if Emile helped him up he wouldn't care. Eventually Chase turned around to glare at the hunter, more pain than anger before moving on to Emile. When he spoke next Chase's voice significantly lowered. "I was originally here getting intel for Vitae you moron." Though directed at Thomas he was looking at Emile, still genuinely uncomfortable and sorry for it. He wasn't about to try and explain what he'd found out, that the pack wasn't trying to destroy the colony. Chase wasn't stupid, the short-sighed idiot was clearly not willing to listen to reason.

Before he could continue Chase heard the familiar ringtone of his phone ringing inside the cabin. The man was about to ignore it considering current circumstances but it occurred to him that it might be Will, having failed to find Thomas because the murderer had already been snatched up. He gave Emile a brief look before heading inside to grab his phone off the counter, it was indeed Will. Raising it to his ear the man stepped back out onto the back porch as his end picked up, "He's here with me if that's why you're calling." He spoke before the other man could, eyeing Thomas.

William's eyes closed as he leaned against the hood of the truck with his free hand. Chase had beaten them there, taken Thomas and left. He must have been closer than he suspected after their phone call, unless he had help. Will knew he'd made a mistake in telling the werewolf about the murderer's location. All he could do now is pry what information out of Chase that he could. "How bad did he get you? Silver blade couldn't have felt good," Will remarked. "Where are you?" he asked. "Let me come take a look at you and we'll figure this out. We still need to find out what he knows, Chase."

Mackenzie followed Will back to the truck, taking a quick glance around to make sure they were indeed alone for the time being. If Chase did have Thomas, and he was working with other people -possibly the pack, they needed to be wary. She narrowed her eyes as Will spoke to Chase, unable to hear what he had to say left her just standing in the lot hoping Will could get the wolf to turn over the hunter.... alive.

Emile was thankful that Chance came away from the hunter without any anger towards him; he wasn't trying to protect the hunter, he was trying to keep Chase safe from himself. He watched the younger man settle himself, calm down slightly before telling the hunter why he had been within the pack. This wasn't news to the Alpha, he knew now why Chase had come, but he also knew why he stayed, why he came back. He heard the younger man's cell phone go in the cabin and nodded as he headed into answer it.

Whilst Chase was speaking on the phone -too far away for Emile to hear the other side of the conversation, he kept an eye on the prone hunter. They exchanged glares, Emile's nearly passive with no emotion while Thomas was still seething. With Chase gone and just the man standing here the attempted to rise and received a harsh kick to the ribs; Emile was far less careful to not hurt the human, hearing the tell tale signs of broken bones. The hunter groaned, collapsing back onto the ground in an attempt to catch his breath.

Emile squatted down next to the hunter with an almost mocking look of pain. "Did that hurt?" He asked softly, head tilted aside a nasty grin come across his features. "Chase is a good man, he not hurt you, he not kill you...." He slowly shook his head. "But you -you are not safe here. Wit me. You took his pére, his human father from him and you will no go back to the colony whole."

Within the lounge Franklin took up his normal booth, his planners and agendas already laid out of him to review, as well as a stack of reports from this various businesses, and the businesses his Nest members control. Typically this sort of thing would be conducted in his office well above the building that housed the Nest and all of its needs but tonight he didn't feel like being segregated. He always found it odd when others from his Nest chose to reside in the lounge instead of the club; there were never any humans here, and most of the Nest liked to interact with them and other beings.

He nodded his thanks to the nest member that brought his drink, a young thing still he was very new to the Nest and rather shy. He took a sip of the perfectly warmed blood before setting the mug aside and looking over his work.

Tara smiles, deciding not to drink just in case, and looks over at Franklin, curious, but not wanting to bother him with questions. She's a little bit shy around him, but that's to be expected from one so young and inexperienced. She's still just a kid in vampire terms, and she damn well knows it. Still, she's got her strange sort of family here.

"Wasn't me," Chase replied to the question of who got stabbed. "But he'll be fine, we heal. Thanks for the concern but I've got this handled, I'll find out what he knows before I'm done." His voice did nothing to hide his current mood which had lowered to an annoyed state. "Sorry you guys had to drive all that way for nothing." It was more than clear that they had no clue Chase had gone back to the pack, they still considered the wolves the enemy. There was a small moment of conflict of both wanting to tell Will the truth despite not actively trying to hide it, but he didn't know how the other hunter would take it or if he'd understand. However that thought process was quickly drowned out by the current situation of Thomas that he was dealing with. "Don't worry, I'll be at the funeral." He could see that Emile was closer to Thomas, likely questioning him, but Chase wasn't bothered. Eyes rolling as he turned to lean against the nearby frame.

"Before you're 'done'?" Will asked slowly, staring down at the hood of the truck as he focused his hearing intently, trying to make out any clue of where Chase might be located. It was pointless. He settled for trying to talk Chase down instead. "What exactly do you have planned, Chase? I don't care if he lives or dies... if it was my choice, he'd be dead when this is all over for what he did." He sighed, taking a deep breath before asking his next question. He knew the likely answer based on Chase's previous statement. "Where are you? Are you with the Pack?" he asked, with no trace of judgement hostility in his tone.

Chase breathed in deep as the man over the phone sought answers though he was surprised to hear that Will wasn't too bothered whether the other hunter was alive or dead, "You sort of caught me in the middle of getting those answers. Afterwards though I don't know, undecided." It was true, despite wanting to kill Thomas he wasn't sure if he would in the end. The next question Chase basically expected, "Yeah, I'm with them." Chase quickly continued on, "Thomas knew I was a wolf, about as expected. Still haven't found out he he knew though." And it was possible he might not have if Emile wasn't there.
