Ginny rubs the back of her head, chuckling nervously. "I mean, pretty good till just now. I haven't even been here a day, and someone's died. I was hoping that would be less commonplace here." She admits. "I mean out there, people die all the time, but in here, with all these guards? That's pretty crazy."

Ashley-May's hesitation to speak about what had happened was clear even without Adelaide's talents. She crossed her arms as she leaned against the wall by the door. "I heard about what happened, with Elijah." She paused before smiling. "Don't worry, I'm not here to apologize for him. He's a friend of mine, yes, but I make it a rule not to enable him when he's being an ass... which can be often, in his case. If you want to talk about it..." she said with a shrug. "It's up to you. If you'd rather be alone, I'll understand."

"Edgar" laughed, it wasn't a mean or a mocking laugh, but a kind, warm one. He replied "You're better at meeting new people than quite a few I've met, especially hunters.", thinking of his recent experience with hunters, though granted, they knew he was a god. This woman only knew of him as a man, a fellow hunter. "Just remember to breathe." He added the last part with a wink and a little smirk.

"Sixteen? That's even earlier than me. I've been something of a lone wolf myself, my last partner was severely injured by a werewolf last year, forcing him to retire permanently. Combined with a few other things, that made me make the decision to leave Scandinavia behind and come here, been doing this by myself until now." if one looked closely, one could see a hint of compassion in his eyes as he realised that there was likely a sad story behind this woman. He couldn't think of any sixteen year old that would want to leave a happy life behind for that of a hunter.

Ashley-May offered Adelaide a smile as she made is clear she had been told what had happened between herself and Elijah, she gave a soft sigh and leaned back against the head board of the bed, holding a hand out in offering for the other woman to sit with her. "To be honest, it was probably my fault." She said simply, no more signs of distress or heartache, Ash felt more in control of her emotions... for now. "The baby is killing me with mood sings, and I probably leaning too hard on Eli when he started flirting." She gave a slight shrug. "I mean, he probably felt obligated to make an offer to me, given my current condition and lost his cool when I took him up on it."

She pursed her lips slightly, giving a sad smile. "It's life, I am destined to follow in the path laid before me, no matter how hard I fight."

"Da Ji is skilled in sealing things away, s-"

Da Ji raised her hand to stop Himiko mid sentence. " What pray tell makes you think you can use me like some pawn? I do not answer to you" She smiled at the two gods while Himiko pinched the bridge of her nose in frustration. This was exactly what she had expected and Inari grinning at the situation was not helpful in the least. " Exactly what would you have me seal away exactly?"

Adelaide took a seat next to Ashley-May, giving her a sympathetic look, though it was tinged by anger -- not at Ashley-May, but at Elijah for managing to make her feel this way, as if she was at fault. She shook her head slowly. "Don't blame yourself, Ash. This isn't on you." She sighed, hesitating for a moment before shaking her head ruefully. "I'm going to break one of my rules here. I have it on good authority that what Elijah felt -- feels -- for you is very real. He doesn't do charity cases, Ash. I've known him for a while now and he feels more strongly about you than any other woman I've ever seen him with."

She shrugged. "If I had to guess, he ran because he thinks he won't be able to give you what you need." Adelaide sighed with vague disdain. "The idiot probably thinks he's being very noble."

As much as Adelaide certainly meant well, so Ash assumed, the woman being honest with her about Elijah and his intentions pained her. She felt the sting of heartbreak within her chest and bit her lip, refusing to cry again. She needed to control herself. She couldn't understand how he could do this if Addy was right -which Ash was certain the psychic was; that was her job after all. She could never imagine doing such a thing to anyone, certainly not one she cared about so much.

The idea that he would be willing to hurt her, to break her heart, because he thought it was for the best baffled her. She was quiet a long time, chewing on the inside of her cheek not trusting herself to speak until finally she did after clearing her throat. "Oh," Her voice was soft and weak. She had been relying on the fact that Eli had only been acting out of noble cause, not wanting her to feel a failure for repeating her mothers footsteps, but in truth Adelaide was telling her it wasn't an act. "I don't know... I don't understand why." She continued. "Did he think I would be okay? He said he wanted to stay my friend, but he couldn't do this for me. What did he expect?" She sniffed, fighting tears. "I don't know if I can stay here, at the colony."

Adelaide frowned, placing a comforting hand on Ash's shoulder. "That would be the hormones talking," she said, Ashley-May's heartbreak causing her own mood to darken empathetically. "I haven't talked to him yet, but I think he's scared. Knowing him, he didn't think things through. I know that's not much comfort to you now. His heart was in the right place I'm sure, but for someone who fancies himself a ladies' man, sometimes he doesn't understand a thing about actual relationships," she said with a wan smile.

She sighed. "This might be temporary, you know. I don't know where it came from; when I was in his room earlier the only thing he felt for you was lo--" she paused, shrugging again. "Maybe he'll come around. I'm not saying you should forgive him right away. I certainly wouldn't blame you for being pissed. I know William is. But... he's not a lost cause just yet."

Hypnos gave a smile to Da Ji as she asked what needed sealing. " Rather than sealing something away we would like you to reinforce a seal." Hypnos said vaguely. " Its a seal that's been holding a great Evil for... quite some time now and that's to the efforts of a certain organization if it isn't attended to the beast will walk free and soon. " Hypnos explained patiently. He doubted the first thing she wanted to do when being free was to do a gods will.

Solomon nodded as he listened to Ginny, " Well that's the truth of the world we live in. No matter how well we protect ourselves from the supernatural in the end we all succumb to the evils we hunt. "

She nods, smiling sadly. "Yeah… the line between predator and prey, or killer and victim, is easily crossed. It's what makes this whole war so confusing sometimes." She says, her voice soft, blue eyes holding a deep sadness. She tries to shake it off, returning to her normal, chipper demeanor. "Anyway, existential crises aside, any plans for today?" She asks, annoyed with herself for exposing that side of her.

Chase's journey landed him at the edge of a farm, one where the cattle had immediately startled and brought the attention of the human inhabitants taking shelter under the nearby porch. He hadn't really stopped quick enough while not paying attention and had to re-route back into the woods. The area he was running in was one he hadn't before, and it's layout and population were unknown to him. Not that it would have been much help otherwise with his mindless running for the moment.

The wolf came across a rather deep and steep, nearly cliff-like embankment. He'd guessed there was likely a creek at the bottom but he hadn't looked or slowed down enough to check. However the moment he landed his legs gave-in, the wolf having one head over heels tumble before coming to a halt on the wet and muddy ground. Chase stayed lying where he landed whilst panting at the exhaustion, finally hitting the point where he just stopped. What he was doing was stupid and pointless, Chase knew that, but he had to.

Now that he wasn't moving he allowed his mind to think it over, a small whine escaping the animal. His father was dead, killed in Vitae's walls, and it had likely been a human. Despite his current fresh and bitter dislike of Mac and Will he didn't believe they'd have done it. If they had they certainly wouldn't have outright told him about Joe. The wolf snorted, briefly looking up at the sky and blinking when the drops hit too close to his eyes. But between the glove, shotgun, and the third tag along it was clear they didn't trust him not to attack them. It was a mistake to believe that maybe if he'd done this mission with the pack and help save Vitae from the wolves that they might not see him as a monster.

Joe was the only person that truly accepted him and the man was never obligated to.

For a moment Chase regretted his decision not to go back to Vitae. His fathers body was there, would they know about his wish to not be burned at the pyre? It's not common for a Hunter but Chase has known a few that didn't want that for various reasons whether religion or just preference. Chase also could have picked up scents that Mac and Will obviously couldn't. There was a small shake of the wolfs head to rid his fur of some of the water drenched into it before he lowered it to the ground to rest on his front paws. What was he supposed to do now? Chase was only with the pack because of Joe, only came to Vitae for Joe, even being in Nebraska or hunting because of the man. Now Chase was both a man without family and purpose.

Da Ji looked completely unimpressed by Hypnos's pitch. " So you want me to go against, as you put it, a great evil and attempt to reinforce the very seal that holds it?" She turned to Himiko, " Am I right to assume that this great evil has some sort of army that wishes him free?"

Himiko hesitated and glanced at Jordan who was trying his best to suppress a grin and sighed, it seemed that the god was more content to let them sort things out with Da Ji on their own, " Yes, you are correct to assume that."

" So in addition to getting on the wrong side of some major evil that may or may not walk freely, you want me to draw the ire and attention of those that would assist his freedom. Have I missed anything?" Da Ji's smile never left her face as she talked to the gods.

Andy laid there on her bed, she thought about what Matthew had meant about Joe but knew that he couldn't be dead. She went to take out her phone but realised it wasn't there, it wasn't like Andy to lose things and desperately looked through her apartment to find it. She even got one of her neighbours to call her phone but couldn't find it and started to freak out a little bit. "Oh hunny, where was the last place you had your phone?" Andy could say that she was lucky to have a neighbour like she does, she lived next to an elderly lady by the name of Ansel. She sat next to Andy and comforted her with a hand around her shoulder. Andy got up in realisation, she remembered having dropped her phone when she was in the woods when she had killed the man. "I'm sorry Ansel but I think I know where my phone is. Thank you for helping me." She grabbed her jacket and walked out the door and into her beat up little car.

"How could you be so stupid Andy, dammit! If someone found that then you would be in deep deep doggy doodoo!" She talked to herself and sped through the roads getting yelled out by the other drivers. Andy pulled onto the main road she was on when she killed the hunter in the woods and sped up looking around to see if anything looked familiar. She drove past the sign that she had killed the man near and stoped on the side of the road, she got out of the car and walked into the woods looking around. A horrible smell filled Andy's nose, she could only assume that it was the man's dead body. Andy heard a wolf howl that sounded lost, she ended up finding her phone along the way of following the howl and looked at all the missed calls and messages. A few of them from her boss and the cafe she worked at, as Andy was walking she saw something run a fair distance away from her.

She decided it was a good idea to follow the figure out of curiosity, it ran fast and panted loudly sounding much like a wolf. Andy took her wolf form and followed the wolf from a distance trying to not be noticed by it, she heard other wolf howls and began to figure out that she was in too deep on this one and shouldn't really follow the alone wolf anymore. But she noticed that the wolf didn't run towards the pack but rather away from it, she was rather confused and continued to follow it again keeping her distance although she could catch his scent and knew it was familiar but couldn't remember. Andy followed the wolf to a farm like area and was honestly surprised that it hadn't noticed her considering she moved closer to him.

She stayed in the woods and laid down observing the wolf move across the farm. She noticed that it looked a little bit upset but got up when it started walking towards her, she hid a little bit deeper into the woods and continued to follow the wolf. He led her to a little bit of a ditch and she watched him fall, she looked away not wanting to see the outcome but heard a little bit of a whine come from the now not seeable wolf. She decided she wanted to show herself and stood over the wolf as it laid there panting, she too was a little bit out of breath but was used to it. The dirt underneath her started to fall and Andy moved back not wanting to fall down with the wolf but was sure now that she had gotten his attention. She tilted her head to the side in confusion, she didn't know why the wolf was so sad but noticed he had a little bit of hate in his eyes.

"I don't know, Addy." Ashley-May may said rather mournfully. "Between Alaric abandoning me and Elijah ... I just don't know if I want to stay anymore." She sighed a little, nodding as Adelaide mentioned that Eli might change his decision. "But how am I supposed to trust that he won't do this again? Panic and run out on me? Maybe he was right Addy, Mac has given me enough to go back to a normal life. I could go back to New York and finish my classes." Ash was torn between staying and leaving once more, Eli had had her convinced to stay, with the unspoken promise of him being with her but with that gone she was lost once more.

Emiles scouts continued to follow behind Chase as he seemed to run at full tilt, they searched but found nothing giving pursuit. Through woods then open field they would not follow, skirting around the farmlands warily; uncertain of this territory it did not fall under the packs control but another, one they had fallen out with.

With this new development Emile was concerned for the well-being of Chase, he was aware the young man was in distress but didn't know the cause. Chase didn't have the Bond that the other members did to the Alpha, a link that allowed him to communicate freely over distance. It wasn't nearly as detailed as human speech, it certainly had its uses in times like this. As much as he wanted to go find his choit perdu he knew it could drive Chase further. He resigned to let the scouts continue their work, making sure the wolf was safe. Emile stepped out of the back of the cabin, taking a seat on the steps to wait and see.

Sibéal had already vanished from the colony once before to pay her respects to the fall of her mentor and closest friend, Odin. Though, this time was different. It was an emergency, rumor had it a witch in her hometown of Ireland was being plagued by another witch who apparently had ill-tendency towards one of the males who she, for some reason chose to falsely accuse him of having an affair. A truly silly situation that one, the girl had no idea what dark magic she was tampering in, though, sadly, she needed to be put down as it was too late and the dark magic she had been using had all but completely consumed her physical body.

As she returned to her tent, she'd softly step out of her warded zone only to find a crowd formulating in a section of the colony and having a meeting. Now as much as she was one for a public meet-up, the last thing she wanted to be was a possible center of attention. The colony didn't know her as a witch or völva and she'd intended on keeping it that way. So, instead, she quietly re-familiarized herself with the colony and any possible changes.

Adelaide's eyes fell to the floor as Ashley-May spoke. "I understand," she said. "Once the Grace is removed, you have a chance at a normal life for you and your child." She looked back up at Ash, smiling. "I won't try to tell you to stay or go. It's not my place, or Elijah's for that matter. I left all this--" she swung her hand around in an all-encompassing gesture, "...behind to try the same thing a few years ago."

Ashley-May regarded Adelaide for a moment after she revealed that she had once walked from the hunters life. "Why?" She very nearly blurted it out. "And what made you come back?" She paused and flushed slightly. "If you don't mind my asking, that is. If it's too personal I understand." Ash was far too aware of how hunters were rather touchy when it came to their privacy.

"I don't mind," Adelaide said with a smile. She paused, considering how best to approach the subject. "I was born the way I am. I'm what they call a 'Natural Witch'. It's rare to also be born a psychic, but not unheard of. My mother couldn't take care of me, so I ended up in foster care for years. None of the families held onto me for long once they saw what I could do." She shrugged. "They were afraid... and I don't blame them."

Adele smiled wanly. "I ended up going to live with my great aunt Noella. Turned out that she was old school hoodoo: recognized what I was right off the bat. She taught me everything I know... and she was like a mother to me." Adelaide's eyes glazed over as she spoke. "But what I was made me a target. A group of Demons found out about me and came to take me for god knows what. Hunters were already tracking them. They fought around us, slaughtered each other. Noella... she got caught in the crossfire. She didn't make it."

Adelaide sighed, regaining her composure. "After that I just needed to get away from it all: Demons, Hunters, my 'gift', all of it. I left Louisiana for Seattle. I went to school for a few years, tried to ignore the fact that I could read the thoughts of every professor or whoever I was dating without them saying a word. Eventually I broke my own rules, started helping people. I banished a poltergeist a few towns over and it felt... right." She shrugged, "So I came back to Louisiana. That's where I met Will and Elijah."

"I'm sorry," Ash said quietly upon hearing what had happened to her surrogate mother, she understood the feeling of that loss far too well. She smiled sadly as Adelaide continued onto the reason why she had returned and Ashley-May sighed. "That's what I'm afraid of, that I'll get out, start a life but still see this happening around me. I know I wouldn't be able to just pretend I don't know and then I'm out there alone hunter instead of just here with help." The thought of remaining in Vitae still pained her. It was an unlikely event that Mac would part from Will willingly, and she was sure he felt the same way which meant she would have to not only see Eli within the colony but interact with him on a near daily basis.

"I have a lot to think about." She said then, but offered the other woman a smile. "Thanks, you made me feel better."

Eddie lowered his book from his face to look at the other two who were seated near him. He looked somber, while fidgeting with a highlighter in his right hand. "How did they die?" Eddie was clearly in his own world until they began talking, and might not have noticed a funeral even happened recently.

Adelaide nodded her thanks to Ash for the woman's condolences, listening as she expressed her concerns about being dragged back into Hunting one way or another... ironically the same fear Adelaide imagined was behind Elijah's sudden rejection. As Ashley-May thanked her, Adelaide simply smiled, giving her shoulder a squeeze before standing up from the bed and making her way to the door, pausing at the threshold. "Don't mention it. If you ever want to talk about anything, my door's open."

"Will do." Ashely-May promised as Adelaide exited the room and closed the door behind her. She waited a moment, lost in thought before she collected the laptop once more, and continued her research. Despite knowing she was likely going to stay within the colony regardless of the out come with Elijah she still felt the need to get away. Too much had happened too quickly here and she needed a mental break.

She was aware she wouldn't get anywhere without and escort, she just hoped that she could convince Mac to come with her. She felt guilty at the idea of dragging her away from her new love, but she was sure she could figure out a way to make it up yo both of them.

"Scandinavian huh? Nice!" she says with a smile, then ponders and looks at the ground. "I didn't choose the life I started to live when I was sixteen, I just didn't really have a choice," she says. "Of course it is what elad to me knowing about all the dark evil things in this world," she added. "But on the same coin I wouldn't trade it for anything. I like knowing that I'm a secret protector of those who get to live those normal happy lives," she says with a soft smile.

That was definitely the truth, she loved feeling like a hero, especially after she fights an extremely tough demon, ghost, etc.

Chase lay somberly whilst gathering his thoughts until he heard movement from behind over the sound of rainfall. Immediately his head jerked around whilst letting out a growl. The sight of a wolf on the opposite side of the small ravine type landscape he'd just crossed was surprising. More than that was the fact that he didn't immediately recognize said wolf, though the pack was large and he couldn't have remembered the physical description of everyone's wolf form, nor had he actually seen all of their wolf forms. And between the rain and the distance he didn't have a current scent to go on.

The wolf slowly pushed himself to stand, cursing the timing of it all with his both physical and emotional weakness. Despite the other wolf seeming rather nonthreatening Chase wasn't taking chances, not to mention he would have reacted the same way no matter who had walked up on him. It was his choice to run the woods and be alone, and he'd be damned if anyone or anything was going take that from him. With ears raised and turning he was listening for any sign of more than just the one whilst keeping his eyes on the wolf, whether he as being careful or paranoid was hard to say.
