Deimos was on high alert as Mackenzie entered the woods. The scent of the Wolves was thick and he couldn't sense things like his godly uncles could. So he was stuck with the old fashioned methods. When he heard something speak from within the forest Deimos gave a low growl as he watched Chase enter view. The demigod knew better than to attack blindly, but he was making sure that the werewolf knew he was there, whether he could see Deimos or not.

Mackenzie traveled as short distance into the bush relatively slowly. She didn't imagine she would actually encounter any of the pack out here; they hadn't followed Chase the other day, and it wasn't likely to happen now. While Will seemed bent on the decision that this may be a pack issue all around, she certainly wasn't convinced. She was far more worried that Joe had been eliminated by the other wolf, the Andy, that had been texting him, and that it was in the colony now.

Chase's voice brought her dark eyes to focus on him, ahead of her, within the tree. She made a point of not looking anywhere but his own eyes, for his comfort certainly not her own. He commented on claws and she pursed her lips. "A girl can't be too careful," She commented, though was removing the straps and pulling the gloves free from her hands. "Lots of naked men roaming the woods these days." She cast as sidelong glance towards Deimos as he made an appearance for the first time within the last day, before addressing Chase again. "Been a few wolf attacks around Vitae, seems like we might have a feral wolf on our hands, one that's connected to you, actually. The name Andy ring a bell?"

Chase smirked at Mac's comment on naked men in the woods as she removed the glove, "Oh really? Guess I should come out more often." The sudden realization she wasn't alone was momentarily jarring at the growl, and instinctively Chase sniffed. How'd he missed that smell? Mac was unfazed, "Friend of yours?"

When Mac mentioned wolf attacks at first he was at a loss until she mentioned Andy and the man let out a huff, he knew hunters could possibly pick up her trail but for it to have reached Vitae. "My dad and I are dealing with her, the Alpha mentioned a way that's supposed to bring her back from the brink." Chase shrugged lightly, admittedly he knew nothing on the subject personally then at the realization that Mac knew Andy's name he narrowed his eyes in confusion, "You already know who the wolf is?" By all means he suspected if her identity was known to any other hunters she'd have been offed already.

As Andy was walking on the road she started to think, which really, can never be a good thing. She began questioning what Matthew meant by Joe not being here anymore, the more she thought about it the more she began to believe it. He hadn't text her back, he hadn't contacted her, she hadn't seen him anywhere. She started thinking about the Vitae attack that he had mentioned when he first got here, Andy started developing her own theories. Matthew had said he didn't get to hear the whole conversation, meaning that he was there with the body at some time. Then the thought of his motorcycle came into her mind, if anyone saw the bike on the side of the road then they will think something suspicious had happened. Andy started to think about contacting Chase or not, she had his contact in her phone in case there was an emergency and Joe couldn't help her.

Andy walked pass a sign on the highway, it was another couple of miles back home. A car pulled up next to her with a family in it, a daughter around 5 months, a son around 7, and the mother and the father which looked a little, well, stoned. "Hey there pretty lady." The father had a strong Texan accent, he looked over Andy's body before looking at his wife and whispered a little. Andy didn't want a bar of it, she continued to walk off hoping that the people in the car would get the idea that she didn't need a lift. It was already suspect enough that she was a 17 year old girl walking on the side of a highway next to a woods, but the car caught up again. "Hey lady, need a lift? Looks like you're headi-" Andy didn't show her face or most of her body to the family when she cut the man off from speaking, "No thank you, I am fine with walking." The man looked at Andy a little more closely and noticed she was covered in blood, "Lady, you okay?" He was a little more cautious, this time talking softly like talking to a baby that you don't want to make cry.

She ignored the man and continued to walk off but this time walking into the woods again knowing that the man will not follow her in there. She had assumed wrong when she heard the opening and closing of a crummy old Commodore Ute door. "Lady, why you goin' in there? It's a dangerous place in them woods, you don't know what kinda' bears and that are out there. Why don't you come on in the car with my wife and kids, we can drop you back off at home." She remained silent and kept walking in hopes of losing him, she walked a little faster and began showing her athleticism off to the man by jumping over logs and rocks. The Texan man looked highly confused and contemplated whether to follow Andy into the woods or not. "Lady, is that your blood on your shirt? Are you okay?" He stood where he was and tried to look for Andy, the car not in sight anymore and the yelling of his family not heard. "Lady where'd you go?" He looked around more, his vision being blocked by the fog starting to roll in from the lake and the cold weather. The man took out what seemed to be a silver knife, Andy immediately knew that she was dealing with a hunter. No one carries a silver blade around unless they mean business, she began to observe him a little more and saw an anti-possession tattoo on his wrist.

Andy wasn't in the best condition right now, she could hear his heart beating faster each time he heard a crack of a stick. She climbed up a tree near the man and sat over him, she observed him and tried to take her time thinking whether or not to kill him. She took her phone out and opened Chase's contact, she accidentally dropped the phone out of the tree though tapped the call button so it was dialling. The Texan man saw the phone drop and looked up at the tree tops. "Little lady where are you?" He heard rustling in the tree tops, his heart beat increasing before he started to walk off leaving Andy there. She couldn't just let the man go and tell the police about a mysterious girl on the side of the road covered in blood and then walked into the woods, god knows who could get their hands on that information but she knew it wouldn't be anyone could having already been confronted by a hunter. The phone still on the floor dialling Chase, Andy was unaware that it was like that. She jumped on the man from above and ripped his heart out, screaming heard through the woods and a few crunches of bones or muscles. Andy grabbed the body and hid it behind a rock and covered it in a few leaves and twigs. As for the family, they left without the father at some point. Andy forgot about her phone and ran off through the woods.

She eventually made her way home and immediately took a shower, washing all of the blood off of her. She started to cry in fear, she had been craving hearts more and more, and was sure that her or another will put the silver bullet through her head. Andy took her pocketknife and began digging into her bed frame, she tallied how many people she killed and this one would have been her sixth heart. She headed to her bed and laid face up to the ceiling, not doing anything, not thinking anything, just staring. Andy laid there and thought about the man she had just killed and Matthew, two people in one day is not something you should leave behind. She was sure that one or more hunters would come after her now, but until that happens she will continue living her life.

The deity, staying true to his character, pretended not to know where Jack and Hendrix where, and asked for directions, despite knowing exactly where he was supposed to go. Even though no one had met him before, he was already met better than he had when they had seen him as Thor. Several even complimented him on his car. As he made his way to the councilmen, he pretended to study the colony with his eyes, looking mildly interested.

Edgar smiled and shook hands with the two councilmen once he found them "Name's Edgar Dahlberg, I was told you wanted to speak with all hunters who wanted to join you here."

Her. At the very least Chase was supply information, even if he didn't mean to. She knew she could get the coordinates from Joe's GPS to find out at least what area she had been in -since he had left the day before to go meet the wolf. "Don't worry about bringing her back, I'll handle it." Mac had no intention of letting the wolf live, regardless of how Chase felt about the entire thing she knew his opinion would be skewed, bias: he was a wolf after all.

She regarded him carefully for a moment before speaking again, softly. "Let's go back to the cars. Will is waiting, we need to talk." She didn't want to reveal too much to the man, mostly because she wasn't sure how he would react with the news. "I think your shorts are still in the back of the car, just... don't worry about the demon dog thing. It's Hypnos's pet. He showed up yesterday after our meeting and hasn't left yet. I'm waiting for it to get bored and wander off." She turned back the way she had come, heading towards where Adelaide and William were still currently, hoping the man wouldn't put up a fight.

Brendan had been standing outside the REC center directing people in to be seated while they waited for the rest of Vitae to arrive for the meeting. He was approached by the new face and nodded grimly. "Yes, and typically I would step aside and speak to you now, but we have matters to attend to as a colony. Please come inside and take a seat. This will take a few minutes, and then we can talk." Brendan lead Edgar into the Mess Hall and left him to find his own seat while Brendan made his way up to the dais to stand with the other Council members.

With the colony settled in Brendan took the center stage as he had before when announcing the incoming pack. A full colony meeting was a rare affair once upon a time, but in recent days it seemed like it was becoming a common occurrence. He waited for the crowd to quiet enough where he could speak without shouting. "Good morning, and thank you all for coming here once again on such short notice." He offered a smile. "I promise you, no gods threatening us today, or wolves banging on our doors," The crowd seemed to relax at bit, calmed that this was not another emergency. "We, the Council, wanted to bring you all here at once, as we do when such a thing occurs, so we are not hearing third hand." He cleared his throat before continuing.

"We regret to inform you that this morning we discovered that Joe Keaton had passed again," He paused, the people of the colony speaking again, to each other in surprise. He waited for a lull before continuing. "It was a great shock to the Council and to his friends to discover, and he will be greatly missed. I know Joe had fast become part of our community here in Vitae, helping out in all parts wherever he could and it was greatly appreciated and certainly will never be forgotten." He offered a small smile. "Joe's wishes will be met, while he was a Hunter by trade he made it clear he did not want the Hunter's Pyre. We will be hosting a wake this evening at the Church for anyone who would like to attend, and the funeral and burial will be tomorrow morning.

"We have a few wayward son's from the colony, Thomas left in the evening, as did Alison. If anyone could let the Council know where they are, we would appreciate it greatly as that, like we have done for you, we would like to tell them personally. At this time Councilmen Hendrix is retrieving his son, Chase, from a mission he has been conduction for the colonies aid, when he does arrive home please let the man mourn in peace." He made a gesture and the Lunch Ladies started to fill the buffets with breakfast, all with held until the meeting was over. "Please, if you need to speak to anyone, the Council is here to listen."

William was relieved to see Mackenzie and Chase walking from the woods, the former having removed her gauntlet which likely meant the perimeter was safe. Adelaide's eyebrows arched slightly at the sight of the nude man trailing Mac, which prompted Will to lean into the back of the Beast, withdrawing Chase's leftover clothing and approaching to hand it to him. "I'll let you get dressed first," he said, doing his best to keep his tone even. Glancing down at the shotgun in his hand, he set the weapon down, hoping that it would set the man's mind at ease as he turned around to give him privacy. "Sorry if we spooked you. Just taking precautions. This is Adelaide Moreau, by the way," he said, gesturing to the woman who gave Chase a friendly wave before also turning her head. "She's a friend of me and Elijah, she's here to help."

Solomon was quite surprised by the news of a Hunter's death. That would explain the big meeting, but the most concerning part for Solomon was that this Joe wasn't going to be cremated. Not to mention that it could be possessed by a demon, but the violent nature of his death would probably cause his soul to linger. Solomon didn't know Joe so pretending to mourn him was a waste of time, though the loss of manpower would be an issue. While Solomon was admittedly hungry his caution was more important at the moment. The man approached the council quietly and said, " I did not know the hunter personally, but I can't help but be concerned. Is burying his remains really a wise move?"

Chase's teeth clenched when Mac spoke, because he knew exactly what she meant by handle it. Before he could reply however she was already moving and telling him to follow, with both hands still holding the balled up plastic bag in front of him for privacy he started walking. "I said I've got it Mackenzie, now back off." He replied, attitude having dropped dramatically. Chase might have agreed with Mac's methods if not for the fact that Andy had been unwilling with her first heart, she was a friend of the family so to speak, Emile could fix it, and Joe had asked him to help.

Will and the female stranger were waiting just ahead of them and by the look on her face they hadn't completely filled her in either. Chase simply gave a nod of greeting to the two of them, reaching out with one he took the bag Will offered thankfully and moved around the front of the Beast momentarily. Dropping the plastic bag and unzipping the larger one as Will spoke, over the hood. "Yeah I can see that, last time you two were only armed with your tongues. This time you are both clearly on edge." Reaching down the man pulled the shorts on and zipped them up before walking back around to their side of the vehicle and placing the empty duffel-bag on the ground nearby. Still keeping a little distance upwind so none of their scents stuck to him.

"Nice to meet you Adelaide. Chase Keaton, Werewolf and Hunter." He said it rather plainly assuming she knew or could at least assume from the odd meeting. Turning the majority of his attention back to the other two he put his hands on his hips, "We need to talk about whatever deal you made with Franklin." The two of them never said his name to Chase, only Emile had filled in the blanks for him. "He's the reason Boreseti went to hell, by the time the pack arrived it was too late. The wolves never planned to hurt the colony, same with Vitae now." Chase crossed his arms over his chest rather adamantly as he waited for the inevitable questions and accusations to come, mostly from Mac considering it was her former nest and she had a clear dislike of Wolves.

Mackenzie had waited as Will and Chase spoke he introduced herself to Adelaide. She waited, back turned so Chase could dress however when he accused the Nest, her nest being responsible for Vitae she spun around to face him. "He's a liar!" She hissed palms down against the metal of her Beast, "Franklin wasn't there, it wasn't him!" This was not the first time she had heard someone blame Franklin for what happened to her. "If it were him then the Council -Brendan would have refused his help out right."

"This is just another pack lie, how else did they take my father, eh? How else was he turned? He didn't just walk out to them, opened, he wouldn't have done that." Voice wavered as she fought to keep control but anger was winning out.

Ginny watches the announcement with a dull, blank expression. What else is there to do, really? She knows about him only by his death, and while she doesn't like it, death is something she's come to terms with by now. Huh, a burial? Well, if he does pop back as a ghost, perhaps he'll be able to say who killed him… or just take them out. Ghosts are rarely talkative unless they need to be. She thinks to herself, getting a plate full for breakfast. She sees Solomon go to talk to the council, and smiles a bit. In brighter news, Solomon is walking. Good for him!

Adelaide smiled at Chase as he introduced himself. "Likewise."

As the argument broke out between Chase and Mackenzie, William decided to intervene before things spiraled out of control. The worst was yet to come where this conversation was concerned. "That's enough," he said evenly. "For the record, I'm not a fan of Franklin or having to go to him for help... but we don't have many options. And Mac's right about the Council: Brendan hates the son of a bitch, but even he admits that it was likely a splinter group from Franklin's Nest that was responsible for Boresti." He raised a placating hand to Chase, "Not that I plan on giving him a longer leash than necessary."

Will sighed, feeling his heart rate increase as a cold sweat formed on his brow. "That's not why we're here. Not just about Andy, either." He forced himself to meet Chase's eyes as he spoke. Adelaide crossed her arms, glancing at the ground.

Larissa was too anxious to sit, but instead stood off to the side at the front row, leaning against the wall while chewing on her thumbnail, then she heard it. "while he was a Hunter by trade he made it clear he did not want the Hunter's Pyre," wait, what? As she boosted herself off the wall she heard another gentleman speak. "I did not know the hunter personally, but I can't help but be concerned. Is burying his remains really a wise move?" She nodded her agreement as she stepped forward into view.

"I can't help but agree with this gentleman here," she starts. "Do you enjoy inviting ghosts into your colony? I mean, I only just got here, but that makes me feel completely unsafe, and makes me wonder why I came to offer my time and expertise to help this colony, if they're going to do things that put their colony at risk like that," she states in a matter of fact tone. She found it rude and inconsiderate of them to call for aid, then to turn around and put themselves at risk like that, expecting them to help them if anything happens as a result of such a risk.

"It's very rude to expect us to help you with a problem that you risk bringing onto yourselves out of near stupidity," she adds. She realized she was talking to a councilman, but something like this was worth risking getting kicked out over, after all, worse things could happen as a result of not burning this man's body.

Chase didn't know Mackenzie's relationship at all when it came to the Vampires. So he wasn't too surprised when she became defensive on the whole thing, Chase was sure not to blowback with emotion because of that. "I'm just telling you what I was told, I'm working this like any other case by trying to get the facts. As for Malcolm, I can't speak for how he was turned but becoming a wolf doesn't make you a servant without free will. That man seems like he is right where he wants to be whether you believe that or not, Beta of the pack that's trying to keep this First Sin at bay."

It was as much as he could get out before William intervened and Chase stopped to let the man speak, though he shook his head when it seemed clear his warning was going to be ignored. However by the end of the other mans words Chase was eyeing him suspiciously. It was clear that Will was uncomfortable, he reeked of fresh sweat and Chase picked up on the sound his heart beating faster. Will met his eyes with focus and Chase caught sight of the other female looking away in his peripherals. "What other reason could you have asked me out here?" The question left the start of a knot in his stomach, but he didn't allow himself to try and dwell on the possible reasons but rather focus on what they were about to tell him.

William knew there was no backing out now... and he wouldn't even if he could. He held eye contact with Chase, knowing that no beating around the bush or easing him into the situation was possible. He was about to tear the man's heart out -- Will knew that much from personal experience.

"Your father was attacked at Vitae early this morning," Will said. "He... didn't make it. I'm sorry."

UMUEPiL.png

The words were nearly a physical blow, Chase's arms dropping to his side with his face blank as if trying to hear the words again to make sure he heard Will right. Time for the man froze temporarily, an almost out of body experience as he felt the world shift out from under him. Chase's eyes started welling up as he stared at Will, face contorting in confusion and misunderstanding despite the fact that he did understand. "Wh-...what was it?" Was the question that stumbled out unsteadily as mostly just a reaction, one he hadn't meant to make. It was the basic question to ask because there was no way he didn't go out hunting, or fighting, or any other way.

Not a moment after asking the question did Chase feel his knees start to buckle causing the man who'd been standing tall a moment ago, to stumble a single step backwards before putting a hand out against the nearby trucks hood to steady himself again. Chase's angry, heartbroken, disbelieving eyes swayed from Will to Mac and back again. God he didn't want them to say Werewolf, because it would mean that either Andy had done it or that Emile and the pack had betrayed him.

Mackenzie watched as the news struck Chase as hard as she expected it would, as devastating as it would have been for her to hear about Will or Ash in the same context. She didn't move from where she had taken a stance earlier: she was likely the last person Chase would want to be comforted by. "Human, best we can tell." She stated then, watching him. "You need to come home, come to Vitae. We had.... narrowed it down to two possibilities: only two people were missing out of the colony." She knew Will wouldn't want to her to reveal too much, but the man deserved to know.

"One of the two we just found, and they couldn't have been the killer. We're still working at tracking the second one." She bit her lip, pausing in her speech. "There is always the possibility that the Pack's sympathizer knew you were a spy, decided to take out Joe before they took you out...?" Even she didn't like the way it sounded, but if Chase had witnessed any odd behavior, maybe this would be enough. "Let's just get in the car and head back, alright?"

Brendan had been about to dismiss Solomon's concern with Joe's remains when another hunter approached, one he did not know, and decidedly scolded the Council on their decision to appease the mans wishes for death. He let her finish, face blank before standing up straighter and crossing his arms over his chest. He spoke loudly, so that anyone near by could hear or listen in should they wish.

"If you do not like the fact that we are honoring our dead's wishes and how they want to be handled in the afterlife, then you are more than welcome to pack your things and leave, Miss. You were invited here to join our colony and live by our ways; not come here and call us rude and inconsiderate. By all means, if we are such terrible hosts, feel free to pay your tab on the way out: protection, restocking your ammunition, providing you with a place to sleep and food to eat." He sneered at the two. "When I stated that if people needed to talk, that we would listen, it was not so you could judge our decisions. Joe was a respected part of our community, and clearly neither of you cared for that. " He inhaled slowly, calming himself. "As I stated, we will proceed with his wishes for a funeral and burial, and should those remains be disturbed in any way both of you will be held accountable for it; I know more than one god that would be happy to assist us with bringing corpse defilers to justice."

Solomon shrugged, he didn't care one way or another if the ghost appeared or not. He knew that whatever god was protecting this Colony wouldn't let a threat like that stay in the Colony. " I respect the wishes of the Dead as well, but I just wanted to make sure that you were positive of it. Since you are I'll be content to know that you've made sure that people are safe.... at any rate will you tell me a bit about the deceased?" Solomon asked moving away from concern to his own curiosity.

Adelaide had felt the soul-rending effect Will's news had on Chase. The disbelief, the shock, the sorrow all hit her in a wave exuded outward from the werewolf. And while his emotions weren't being enhanced by a Nephilim as Ashley-May's had been, they were no less powerful. She felt her own heart drop into her stomach in a subconscious empathetic reaction, her eyes stinging with tears for a man she had never met. She steeled herself, forcing a nod in agreement with Mackenzie. "She's right," Adelaide said softly. "We'll tell you everything we know when we get back to Vitae. Brendan is already gathering everyone for a meeting."

Will spared a moment to glance at the surrounding treeline, as much to avoid seeing Chase in his moment of turmoil as to scan for danger he knew wasn't there before watching Chase patiently. He couldn't bring himself to give the man any kind of physical comfort... not that he would expect the werewolf to accept it regardless.

Larissa blinked, listening to the man. Invited? What the hell was he talking about?
They had sent out a distress call for help. She shook her head, she wasn't going to argue with an idiot who apparently thought he was holier than everyone. And her concerns had NOTHING to do with whether she respected that the man had been a respected member of their "society" or not, it was for the protection of their society, stupid idiot. She shook her head as she turned and headed to walk out the door.

She decided not to head back for the barracks, instead she wished to meander the colonies town that they had going on. She looked around at everything and everyone upon exiting the recreation building, not sure which way to go. She didn't really know anyone there, nor did she feel comfortable asking someone for directions, especially after what had been said inside. She ran a nervous hand through her hair, her fingers trailing over her hair clip slightly as she did, still biting her lip softly in place of her thumb nail.

Chase felt numb for the moment, while he was seeking answers. The one he got visibly paining him as he closed his eyes and turned his head away, shutting his eyes caused the water welling up to flow down his cheeks in two simple streaks. His father killed by a human, of all the monsters out there that could have done it. It was the one thing he wouldn't have wanted. But to happen in Vitae's walls and not have the person in custody? Chase realized then and there that Joe probably never saw it coming or wasn't able to put up a fight, this combined with the fact that the two females were trying to coax him to back to Vitae was more than enough for Chase to push off the vehicle and half-walk half-stumble a few steps backwards with a shake of his head as he glared through the now watered down eyes.

"Like hell I'm going back with you. I trusted you two once and now my dads dead, because I'm out here instead of with him!" Chase knew that blame half fell on him, but now in his emotional state it was far too easy to throw all of it at them and lash out. In one swift motion Chase turned and sprinted for the nearby treeline, shedding the shorts as he went so that he could shift the moment he had the distance. If they wanted to try and stop him, they'd have to shoot him in the back.

Mackenzie winced as Chase turned and fled, but certainly not before he accused them of failing him. She had, while she knew Will would blame himself, this had come down to her. She was the one that started this. Will had wanted simply to call the wolf out but she had been the one to initiate this plan, to send him to the pack and endanger his life. She had not once thought that Joe would be in danger, certainly not inside the colony.

She watched Chase run and she reached for Wills arm, betting the man would attempt to Chase the wolf into the woods, into his territory. "Let him go." She said quietly. "We can't help him if he doesn't want it. He'll call, he'll message you, if he does."

Adelaide felt the bitter resentment from Chase and was stepping tentatively toward the man the moment before he spun around, wincing at the intensity of his outburst as much as the words themselves.

As the werewolf turned and began sprinting toward the trees, Will shouted after him. "Chase!" He was already beginning to make off after him, but stopped as he felt Mackenzie's hand on his arm. He knew that she was right... and he also knew he wouldn't catch him regardless. Even without a prosthetic leg, there would be no keeping pace with him once he shifted. The realization did nothing to ease the feeling of helpless anger in his chest. He pulled away from Mac's grip, though he instantly regretted it, turning without a word to climb into the driver's seat of the Beast. Adelaide met Mackenzie's gaze for a moment, giving her a silent nod before returning silently to her hatchback.

Once he'd shifted in the woods his wolf form had ran without purpose, pushing his body to simply run with no direction or destination in mind. Chase didn't want to be around them, Vitae, or the pack...he just wanted to be. Instinct had taken over to an extent, when he reached a highpoint just a minute or two later he slowed to a stop for just a moment. The wolf panting hard and glancing around before raising it's head up and howling, the howl's tone was low and long as Chase let his grieving known to the world around him and cared not who could hear. He truly couldn't remember the last time he'd done this, pausing for a breath before letting out another long-winded howl of grief.

Afterwards he'd just continued running, losing his sense of direction was what he wanted in the moment.

Mackenzie's heart broke as Will pulled away from her, she held still as Will stormed away back to the car. She fought control the pain, the emotion welling up within her. She met Adelaide's gaze briefly, a moment lost; she didn't want to go in either vehicle. The Beast won out, she stalked towards her car and climbed into the passenger seat.

She had no words, she knew she had failed him as much as she had failed Chase and there was no recovery for it.

Chase was far from alone within the woods. While the pack had no followed the pain of a member was too clear to go unnoticed. His howl echoed through the air and was heard. Outlaying scouts of the pack picked up his mournful cry and carried it further, over and over until the song was heard and repeated at the packs temporary den.

Emile woke with a start, he sat up in his bed blurry eyed, as he heard the cries and baying of his pack. He frowned then, searching out to get a sense of what had happened but none seemed to know, only that a member suffered. There was only one pack member he wasn't connected to: Chase. He through back the covers and immediately started climbing down the loft ladder, already sending scouts out to search for the Lost Wolf.
