William allowed Adelaide to pull onto the road first, though the Civic came to a halt when she saw that Will wasn't following in the Beast. He flashed the Mainline's lights twice as a signal for her to proceed. After a moment, the hatchback rolled out of the clearing and out of sight. Will sighed turning to look at Mackenzie before sliding across the bench seat towards her, raising a hand to run it gently through her hair before resting at the back of her neck. "I'm sorry," he murmured, leaning in to place a kiss on her cheek. "I'm not mad at you... or Chase," he added.

Solomon nodded, as the councilman explained that Joe was respected. It didn't tell him a damn thing about his actual character nor endear him with any notion sympathy for his death, but nonetheless Solomon put on a somber facade, " I will pray that his family will make it through this tragedy." The lack of detail that the council gave Solomon either spoke to how little he knew about the deceased or how little he trusted Solomon. Either way it was time for Solomon to leave. " If you'll excuse me, I've become quite peckish since my release from the hospital."

Mackenzie tensed as she came to realize that Will had no intention of leaving for the colony, at least not yet. She remained still and quiet, simply waiting for him to speak. She hated that she had failed him, that he was upset with her; the horrible feeling in the pit of her stomach returned, no different than it had when she had run from the colony to set her trap alone.

He turned to face her and she braced herself, waiting for the onslaught of anger she deserved.... But it never came, instead the man was moving along the bench towards her and she knew it would never come. He spoke, he apologized, his hand gently in her hair and she couldn't hold back any longer.

She turned towards him, tears spilling down her cheeks as she leaned into him, arms coming up to wrap around his neck and hold herself to him. She cried, for the first time in as far as she could recall. "I failed," She whispered when she could trust herself to speak, face buried against his chest.

Ginny looks around, feeling rather awkward as she realizes that she doesn't know where to sit. She doesn't really know anyone here, other than Solomon, and he's talking to the councilor right now, so she can't sit with him. She shifts uncomfortably. Is this what high school feels like?

William didn't hesitate to wrap his arms around Mackenzie, resting his chin on her head. "Shh," he whispered, stroking the back of her neck. "You didn't fail anyone, Mac." His chest ached to see her like this: despondent, guilt-ridden... vulnerable. "I made the promise. It's on me, not you," he murmured. If he had simply checked in on Joe the night before, he might have saved his life. Saved Ashley-May from the trauma of finding him. Saved Chase from the pain he was experiencing now. And kept Mackenzie from blaming herself. "I love you, no matter what."

Mackenzie whimpered in his arms, she hated feeling so weak, so useless, but she despised the fact that Will felt responsible alone. She tried to speak but couldn’t bring her voice clearly for some time. When she finally could she wiped the tears from her cheeks. "It’s not your fault, I pushed." She said weakly. She couldn’t keep Ash safe from Heaven and its wrath, couldn’t keep Mur at bay from seeing the babies Grace; at least not without using forbidden knowledge that Hypnos had made clear would be the end of her should she chose to do so. The pack was coming to do what it had to her home so many years ago and she couldn’t prevent it. She didn’t even know what had happened before.

She shifted to lean back, lips seeking his delivering a gentle kiss. "It’s not your fault." She repeated, reaching up to caress his cheek gently. "I don’t think anyone expected … this to happen. Not inside the walls."

William returned Mackenzie's kiss, reaching up to wrap his hand around hers as it met his cheek. "No, but it was my job: to keep everyone in the Colony safe. I swore to Chase I would protect his father. Now he's gone and Ash was the one to find him and Chase is out there alone--" he paused, realizing suddenly that he was close to babbling. He took a deep breath before speaking again, "We're no closer to finding the Pack's inside man. We don't even know how much Alison told Mur before she died."

Mackenzie listened as Will vented, knowing he needed to release as much as she had. The list of problems and complications just seemed to grow and neither of them were able to close any mysteries. He spoke of Ash finding Joe, and while she knew he would continue to feel responsible, she spoke quietly. "Ash is strong, stronger than this. She’ll be okay, I think…I think she was caught off guard –who wouldn’t be, and with the Nephilim…" Though Mac was aware that this was the first time Ash had witnessed a friend fall, she doubted it would be the last the other woman would see before they were done with the pack.

She shifted once more, donning the position they had been in the day before when Chase had caught them out; though this time it was just to be close to him, as close as she could be, wrapped in his arms. "As for Alison, "She leaned her head down against his shoulder, lips pressed against his neck as she spoke. "I don’t think her meeting with Mur was intended. I think she found out that we knew of an inside source for Mur and she was attempting to jump ship. Mur probably called her to meet, summoned her; and she attempted to sever her tie to him by killing him. She already did enough damage by tell him about Ash and the Nephilim. I don’t know what else she could have given since we ran into Mur yesterday to late last night. He can’t get into the colony, and now we have our own witch. If he tries to get another lead inside the colony we’ll be looking for it."

Solomon floated around what could only be described as some macabre after party since the news about Joe's death broke. People were talking about him and his accomplishments. How well liked he was and of course how THEY knew him and his deeds as a hunter. Solomon never was much of a social butterfly. Not to mention Pan had been muttering to him about some big cosmic event happening in the Colony. He could sense a Nephilim nearby.... several of them. It was very unlikely that a Nephililm would last long. Heaven may be the largest bureaucracy in creation, but that's something that's always handled with very quickly. The only reason the entire colony hadn't been smited must be because of whatever god or gods is watching over this Colony. That councilman said he knew of several deities so they must have a way of contact. No doubt that would be the Oracle who brushed him off. Either way Solomon needed to find this Nephilim and it's mother before Heaven realizes its been tricked.

Wading through the crowd Solomon threw his trash away and left the area. He needed to find a secluded area to start his search. One thing his father told him about his magic was that it was very dangerous to him and others. The less people that knew about it the better. Solomon looked around before ducking behind the REC Center. Drawing his knife Solomon recited the spell that would released Pan from his prison. " Use whatever power you must, but keep it discreet. I want you to find this Nephilim and it's host and report back to me. " Solomon ordered as he gave the god his mission. Pan knelt to the ground in response to the command before slowly disappearing into the ground as his wooden body broke apart into roots which would spread throughout the area.

William leaned back against the seat as Mackenzie changed positions before wrapping his arms around her hips, looking up at her as she spoke. Her presence comforted him in a way no one else could. Though what she had to say didn't assuage the guilt he felt, Mac's words nonetheless calmed him as he nodded. While he hated that Ashley-May had been the one to find Joe, there was no doubting her strength. Will had seen enough of her steely composure during stressful situations to recognize it... and it explained Elijah's interest in her, no matter how much the man was running from it. He found himself hoping Mac was right about Alison, that the witch had simply been forced out after Mur played his hand the day before. Either way, she had a point in that Adelaide's presence would be helpful in rooting out any future attempts at infiltration.

"Yeah," he said quietly, smiling up at her. It was a weak reply perhaps, but one that showed he had regained his composure. He was thankful Mac had allowed him to vent; Will's focus was back now. The threats against Vitae -- inside and out -- wouldn't wait on them. He leaned upward to place a lingering kiss on her lips in a show of appreciation. "Ready to head back?" he asked softly.

A slow smile appeared on Mackenzie’s lips as the inner torment that had been threatening Will seemed to pass. She knew it would be a very long while before either of them were alright with themselves with what had happened over the past few hours, but she was ultimately thankful she had Will at her side to help her through. She knew if she had been standing alone during this she doubted she would ever recover. She returned his gentle kiss, her smile widening as he suggested returning to the colony. They were warded within the vehicle; none could track the Oracle, "If we must." She murmured against his lips, hands slipping behind his neck, gently stroking where his shoulders met. "Or we can play hookie for a while…."

William closed his eyes, letting out a contented sigh at Mackenzie's caress against his back. As his head tilted backward, he considered her proposal silently. It was a pointless gesture, of course -- there was only ever one answer that would leave his lips. He never needed an excuse to be close to Mac and ease the yearning in his heart... and he could do with a respite from the Colony's troubles, no matter how brief it was. He could think of no better way to escape from it all than in her embrace.

"You're a bad influence," he murmured playfully, opening his eyes to look up into hers. With an exaggerated sigh, he grinned, hands wrapping around her hips. "I'm all yours."

Minutes later, Adelaide had arrived back at Vitae. She hadn't thought twice about leaving William and Mac behind -- after seeing the exchange following Chase's departure, he knew they needed time to vent and she wasn't presumptuous enough to think Mackenzie would appreciate her being a third wheel, as much as it stung to think of herself that way given her previous relationship with Will. She was used to being the one to comfort and be comforted by Will, not driving off to leave the job to someone else.

But there was someone else who might need a friendly face.

After clearing the gates and arriving back at the house, Adelaide drove her Civic to the house. She entered quietly, glancing around to see that the foyer and living room beyond were empty. She proceeded to the door of the only bedroom that she sensed a presence in, knocking gently. "Ashley-May? It's Adelaide. Mind if I come in?"

Jordan and Himiko braced themselves expecting a torrent of magical energy to be released but it didn't come. There was nothing but silence and even that wasn't even unsettling just awkward.

"Well this isn't rig-" Jordan was immediately silenced by a wave of delayed energy and unchecked anger. It seethed across the floor and crawled up the walls, threatening to overtake the entire room before quickly retreating back to the source. "Ah. There it is."

Where the seal had once been sat a woman clad in robes that were as mystical as they were out of place in today's world. The woman stood slowly, almost menacingly until she was upright staring at the group before letting out a look longb yawn and stretching. She rubbed her eyes lazily and let out another yawn killing the hostile mood her release had made.

"Edgar" figured that the Councilmen wanted to wrap everything up before talking to him, so he exited the building and headed outside. The deity knew someone would eventually figure out that something was strange about him if he isolated himself right after he arrived, so he ought to make some friends like a man like Edgar would have done. The first opportunity presented itself as soon as he walked out of the building.

An astoundingly beautiful human woman stood outside and looked as if she was unsure where she was supposed to go, he figured she was new like "Edgar", and decided to approach her. With a charming smile that he walked up to her and jokingly asked "You lost?"

Hypnos yawned in return as Da Ji appeared from her seal. Standing in the sun's rays was particularly draining to him. " Well, that problem's solved. Now what?" Hypnos asked looking to the Kitsune. Thanatos silently watched the nine tailed fox, his scythe still in his hands. " Welcome back Da Ji, we have a job for you."

With Pan out searching for the thing that could wipe this entire Colony off the face of the Earth all that was left was to wait or some results. Solomon sheathed his knife and walked back into the REC center and made a B-line to the nearest chair. While he was doing a lot better after all this walking around his legs were beginning to ache.
(Anyone in the vicinity.)

Ashley-May shifted a top the bed within the room after hearing the knock at the door. At first she had hoped it was Mackenzie returned from retrieving Chase but when she heard the voice on the other side she was only slightly disappointed. "Yes, coming Addy." She called out, setting her lap top aside and sitting up on the bed. When the door opened she spoke again.

"Just call me Ash," She said with a sincere smile. While she knew the woman was likely here to offer her comfort she wasn't certain how comfortable she would be with the entire affair, after all this was Elijah friend. "Everything go okay?"

Ginny smiles, and goes to sit with Solomon, since she's on good terms again. "Morning. Glad to see you're up on your feet!" She says brightly, trying to shake off the somber mood. She's not sure how to handle this. She's never been to a funeral or anything before, and she didn't know who Joe was. So yeah, she's pretty confused.

Larissa smiled at the man brightly, her hairpin catching sunlight for a second as she turned to him. "Hello, yes, quite," she says with a soft chuckle. "I don't believe we've met, I'm Nidelia, at least, that's my new legal name," she says with a smirk. He was quite handsome, but she couldn't tell if he was going to come onto her or not, if he did she would not be too pleased. She couldn't stand men who just instantly started flirting, especially before introducing themselves.

"I only just got here a few days ago... been settling in," she explains. "Not sure how I feel about them not burning that man's remains though," she adds with a shudder. The idea of them allowing such a risk to their home still made her very mad, but she focused on the fact she was talking to a very attractive man at the moment, and hopefully one that had manners and wasn't a sleaze.

Chase had continued running rather furiously through the outdoors, he'd heard the calls and howls of the closest pack members having heard his own howling but he'd just pushed forwards in the other direction. Instead he was intent to wear himself down, not even stopping at one point when crossing a road that had a decent amount of traffic. The horns and yells of the people lost on deaf ears as he dodged and weaved around a slow moving car to the other side.

The werewolf was both emotional and numb despite the current fierce determination his body language was currently showing. And when the sky darkened somewhat and the light rain began the wolf didn't slow it's pace, despite the irony.

"Edgar" smiled, he then proceeded to rather gently shake her hand whilst he replied "Name's Edgar, I came here maybe an hour ago, been travelling all over the states since I decided to come here from Scandinavia last year."

At her comment about the corpse he had nodded to show that he understood, rather reassuringly he then said "Oh I wouldn't worry too much, this is after all a town of hunters, if anything supernatural attempted to do anything to a human here, I'd feel more sorry for it rather than us living."

The deity smiled again and moved on from the subject, he himself felt sympathy for the man, he hadn't deserved the fate he had met, and dwelling over it would only sour his mood "Nidelia eh? That's quite uncommon."

Larissa laughed. "Ah, yeah, I prefer the term 'unique'," she said with a wink. "I mean, I had to change it due to a past hunt. I also didn't want it to match any of my aliases for when I am on a Hunt, and I didn't want something simple that could be easy to figure out," she explains.

"And it has worked well so far!" she adds with a proud grin, her chest slightly puffed out. "After all, the last name is unique as well. Sponze," she says chuckling. "I just, wanted to be very hard to find and track down," she adds. Now she was ramblings, trying to fill the void of trying to keep talking to his guy. "I'm sorry, I'm rambling. I'm not good at meeting new people," she explains. "I've been hunting and traveling alone since I was sixteen, only interacting with other Hunter's when needed to get supplies, or leads..." she says.

Adelaide returned Ashley-May's smile, but hesitated at the question. "Alison was a dead end. It doesn't look like she's responsible for Joe and the demon she was working with killed her." She sighed before continuing, "As for Chase... he didn't take it well, as you can imagine. He took off into the woods. He's hurt and he's angry." She shook her head, glancing at the floor briefly before looking up at Ash. "How are you holding up?"

Da Ji stared at the two gods before stretching again, ignoring the command of the one with the scythe. She looked at Jordan and then at Himiko, " How long have I been trapped?"

"57 years give or take." Jordan responded.

"That's pretty long... were you content to let me rot?"

"Your seal was meant to trap others of our kind." Himiko voiced

"Understandable I suppose..." Da Ji picked at a loose thread on her robe before looking at Thanatos, ".... Who might you be?"

St. Boethius St. Boethius

Thanatos looked over to his brother in annoyance. Was this Fox really able to help them against the First Sin? From what he could recall all she was good for was bringing pain to humans in a variety of ways. " I am Thanatos, God of Death, and this is my brother Hypnos, God of Sleep. " Thanatos looked over to the two Kitsune, " So how is she supposed to help us again?"

Solomon was anxiously awaiting news from Pan on the whereabouts of the Nephilim and didn't even hear Ginny approach. Solomon quickly put on a smile and said, " Good morning. Thank you for your concern. How are you doing this fine morning?"

Ashely-May smiled to Adelaide innocently at first "I'm good, what's up?" but then she recalled Mac had informed her of the woman's psychic abilities. Her smile faded slightly and she shifted on the bed top. "I'll... I'll be fine." She stated simply, she wasn't sure how much the other woman knew already; she had been with Mac recently but she wasn't sure if her partner would tell Addy about her melt down. The other factor was how much Adelaide could glean from her thoughts.
