Bart, the ever faithful Gate Guard heard the man’s voice before he saw him step out from the woods onto the road. “Does not one know how to drive anymore?” He complained to himself, moving from where he was seated a top the wall into sight. “Yea, we’re home.” He called down to the young man. “But we might not answer the door.” He gave a grim smile. “All depends on what you’re selling, girl guide cookies?”

Ashley-May gave Eli a cold glare, “I’ll have you know I’ve already been commissioned by Joe to set up his son Chase, at least he appreciates the work I’ve done.” She was rather surprised that Eli declined the chance at a date with Sandy, but it was true she didn’t know the girls preferences but it wouldn’t hurt to ask.

She cleaned out his wound and replaced the old bandage. “Suck it up.” She mocked him, collecting the soiled towels and sheets, and tossing them into the laundry bin before removing his gloves and discarding them. “Has anyone else caught your eye?”

Mackenzie paused at the inquiry, it wasn’t something she had wanted to think about, but she had an idea as to why Ash had gone to someone other than herself. “She was afraid.” She answered rather simply, “That I would be angry, upset with her.” She glanced to Will, he didn’t know their history, though nothing of this sort had ever occurred, Ash knew about her intolerance to supernatural things. She had no problem working with them, if it was a means to an end, but it was whole other issue when it came to dating. “She was afraid of me, of what I might do or say about her current condition.”

Malcolm was not surprised by Chase’s reaction to finding out what Emile had been calling him, though he had not expected the two of them to have discussed ‘pups’ the night before, it only made Malcolm understand a little more as to why Emile would have relinquished his kill to Chase. He doubted greatly that Emile was doing this to ‘mock’ Chase as he assumed, but he would not play the middle man on this; he was a rightful member of the pack and could hash out his own issues.

Chase was requesting a translation but Malcolm chuckled slightly. “There is no word for buffoon en Francais. But ‘Vous etes un imbecile’ is fairly close, that’s you’re an idiot.” He was delaying giving Chase the full term of what Emile had called him the night before, knowing it would go over far worse than the previous two translations had. He cleared this throat and spoke quickly, almost under his breath, but there would be no doubt Chase would hear him. “My little lost wolf.”

Christopher glanced from Eddie to Thor as the man asked why the gods didn’t come forward; he certainly made some assumptions on his own, but wasn’t going to fill in for the god. He reached behind the seat to a cooler on the floor and flipped the lid open, searching for a bottle of water. When found he handed it over to Eddie.

Elijah raised his eyebrows at the mention of Ashley-May's mission to get Chase set up. He sincerely hoped for both their sakes that she was aware of the man's preferences, or else things had the potential to get very awkward... or entertaining, depending on one's perspective.

As she once again teased his pained reaction, he gave her a pouting glance, a witty retort forming in his mind when she spoke up again.

"Has anyone else caught your eye?"

Elijah opened his mouth to reply before shutting it again. It was a simple question... and yet he suddenly found it difficult to answer. "Maybe," was all he could muster as a faint response, his face flushing ever so slightly as he silently cursed the painkillers for the second time.

Desperate to remove the spotlight from himself, he suddenly asked, "What about you? I assume Alaric is out of your good graces, but there are plenty of less... divine fish in the sea," he remarked.

William said nothing at first at Mackenzie's candid remark. She had stated -- rather matter-of-factory -- that Ash was too afraid to come to her initially. Despite her casual demeanor, Will could tell that knowledge pained Mackenzie... at least, he thought so.

"She was wrong," Will said quietly, but confidently. He considered adding more, reassuring Mac in some way, but instead chose to turn his attention back to the Clinic ahead of them.

Chase could see Malcolm's hesitation on the translation, and he couldn't help but feel like Emile just enjoyed putting people in these situations. The Alpha had to know that Chase would ask someone he'd had more than just an introduction with, which simply left Malcolm or Morgan. The lack of having a nickname to fire back with wasn't a big deal, calling him an idiot worked just fine. Though he frowned at the French translation before attempting to say it back slowly, "Vos estas on imbecile." He'd take a deep breath afterwards, "Maybe I'll just stick to imbecile."

After Malcolm gave the final translation Chase laid back so that he'd dunk the rest of himself under the water for a moment, leaving no part of him dry after sitting back up and wiping at the water down his face. To be mocked by the Alpha or have the Alpha flirt with him, for a moment Chase couldn't decide what was worse. He wouldn't deny that Emile was a handsome man, but he was also a wolf. One hellbent on taking Vitae even if he had his reasons, and it was hard to just look past all that. The conversation had lessened his reasoning to stay here and try to relax, the temptation to leave for the camp tugging at him, the temptation to leave for Vitae even more so. But he was here for a reason.

Ashley-May dragged one of the rooms chairs up to the beside and as she was taking a seat she could see Elijah's flustered appearance, heard his awkward reply. She smirked slightly, knowing that his maybe was a yes, but she wasn't sure if she happy to hear it or not. She crossed one leg over the other, as Eli reversed the question back onto herself. She hesitated for just a second before replying. "I thought we already established that I was falling madly in love with you?" She shifted slightly in the chair finding a more comfortable position. "Already I can feel the Florence Nightingale effects coming on!"

dx0HE3H.jpg

Mackenzie gave Will a slight shrug at the suggestion that Ash had been wrong to turn to Eli first, but she didn't fault her partner for it. She felt like she had abandoned Ashley-May since coming to Vitae, felt the sting of guilt that she had found Will and happiness from that. She remained quiet during the rest of the distance towards the Clinic, climbing the steps to the front door she'd pull it open to let Will go in first, there was no doubt in her mind that the Nurse's on staff would be far more lenient about him bringing Eli food than herself.

Malcolm nodded as Chase decided to keep his response to Emile in English, he certainly didn't blame the young man for it. He couldn't help but feel sorry for the newest pack member, Emile certainly wasn't giving him an easy time, but then Emil never really gave anyone an easy time. "It'll pass." He said after Chase re-emerged from beneath the water. "The feeling like you don't belong, I know it. Or did once. It's difficult, feeling like an outcast. Emile doesn't get it. He's been the Alpha or the Alpha's son his whole life; he doesn't know what it's like to be anything else." He hoped to reassure the man in his position here. "He's a honest man, if you tell him to piss off he will and won't hold any grudges."

Morgan and Emile reappeared from the woods, both in their human form and both dressed, though Morgan worse clothing that was clearly meant for man twice her size, it didn't seem to bother her. She rand from the forest laughing towards the stream then within, slowing once the water rose to her knees. It gave Emile an opportunity to catch up to the young woman. She squealed as he caught her, easily sweeping her from her feet then tossing her into a deeper part of the stream. She went under for a second or two before coming back up sputtering but still laughing.

"Ça vous apprendra à me mordre, mon chou." Emile growled playfully, turning to stride towards where Malcolm and Chase were seated relaxing.

Chase took Malcolm's words to heart as he eyed Emile and Morgans interactions, leaned backwards with his hands flat and keeping him propped up against the bottom of the stream. Letting out a sigh he decided he couldn't be too mad for now, seeing the two with smiles and laughter while having such joy lessened his frustration.

"My little lost wolf huh?" He called out accusingly with confidence to Emile as the man walked closer. There was no attempt try to keep his voice down or anything considering those nearby had likely already heard from he and Malcolm's conversation. Mostly Chase was curious to see if the Alpha would own it or be embarrassed, it would be nice to give a small taste of his own medicine but he wasn't banking on it considering Emile didn't seem the type to do so easily.

Elijah chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck in spite of the pain the movement brought. "I'm flattered," he said with a wink, hoping to pass off the inexplicable energy he was feeling as the mere results of their playful banter. "But if that's the case, I question your newfound taste in mortal men," Eli said, gesturing to his abdomen. He paused to look back up at Ash, meeting her brown eyes with his own. He cleared his throat before starting "Ash, you should know--"

upload_2017-6-13_17-37-40.jpeg
"Hope we're not interrupting anything," Will remarked, peeking cautiously through the doorway. The nurse on duty had given him a neutral once-over as he entered the Clinic and made his way toward Elijah's room with the food... though the stare turned decidedly less neutral at the sight of Mac.

Elijah shook his head. "No, of course not," he said quickly. "Ashley-May and I were simply discussing her Florence Nightingale syndrome... something I'm led to believe you've become quite the expert on," he remarked with a waggle of his eyebrows as he glanced pointedly over Will's shoulder.

William shook his head. "Comments like that will get you starved out, you know," he said with mock warning, lifting the plate in his hand with a silent taunt.

Elijah's eyes widened at the sight as he turned toward Ashley-May as if pleading for help.

DCNSJgT.jpg

Emile paused as he heard Chase say something he didn't quite understand, it too several seconds before it was clear the younger wolf had sought out his translation. He grinned and came to sit in the shallow water near the other two. "Mais out, choit, c'est ce que vous êtes." He shrugged, glancing to Malcolm who shook his head and rose. "I'm going to leave this to you two." The Beta said, turning in the direction where Brody was, needing to have a conversation with him about Mackenzie.

Emile watched Malcolm leave before turning back to Chase. "Did you enjoy la chasse?"

Ashley-May had been gearing up a response to Elijah's self-depreciating joke when he took on a far more serious tone, she listened, but was soon startled out of her focus by the door opening behind her and Will and Mac arriving. She glanced between the two men as they teased one another, before casting a wary glance towards Mackenzie after Elijah's last comment, waiting to see how her partner would react.

Mackenzie simply eyed Eli straight-faced, she had been undecided about whether or not she would torture the man because of his omition the day before; Will had done a good job in making her doubt herself, but the second the man mentioned commented on herself and Will's 'relationship' it knew he would deserve every second he would squirm. She pulled a chair up along side Ash, setting the plates and cutlery down on the table at his bedside before leaning back coolly. "I'm shocked you're so willing to eat something I've prepared, given yesterday you were afraid I would poison you if you ever lied to me again."

Elijah winced at Mackenzie's cold glare and the sharp edge of the words. "To be fair, you asked about vampires and Wolves, not... Nephilim." William sighed audibly at the remark, raising a hand to his brow.

Elijah shook his head, "It wasn't my place to tell you, Mac. I'm sorry you feel that I betrayed your trust -- believe me, I am -- but I would do it again in a heartbeat if it came down to it," he said with determination that surprised even him. His eyes fell from Mackenzie's as he glanced toward Ashley-May for a brief moment before casting his gaze down to the bed.

Will lowered his hand and looked between his partner and Mackenzie, watching the exchange silently.

Mackenzie stared at Elijah after he admitted he would willingly omit the truth a second time if it came down to it. Sassy retort she expected, even anger at her comments, but this ... It gave her pause, enough to glance at Ashley-May as Eli did, and was shocked a second time to see Ash's embarrassed flush. She wasn't really sure what she had missed between the two, but she glance to Will before clearing her throat and speaking. "I get it."

She took a plate and handed it to Eli, setting utensils down on it before doing the same for Ash, uncertain as to what to do next.

Ashley-May had felt the heat rise to her cheeks at Eli's defense, she bit her lip and waited to see how Mac would react, knowing she would jump to his side if Mac attempting to tear him a new one. She made eye contact with her confused partner and was relieved when the smaller hunter relented. She accepted the plate from Mac, turning to offer to take the food from Will so she could serve it out, not trusting her voice to speak.

Chase frowned slightly as Malcolm walked away, leaving him to Emile was low but he didn't know what Emile had said in French. Especially after the carefree reaction he'd gotten from his comment. "It was...different. More exhilarating than hunting alone." Chase turned his head back to look at the other man who was also sitting in the water, "You enjoyed that didn't you, putting me in that awkward position. Well, last I checked I'm not yours, or lost for that matter. Pack life isn't the only choice for a wolf you know." He snorted, putting weight on his left hand an bringing his right one up to run through his hair before going back down. Chase had lived his life with no pack and no Alpha, and Emile's names had rubbed him the wrong way even if by accident.

" More of a message actually, I try to stay away from girl scouts... Those cookies tend be my weakness~ I wish to speak to your... council. My leader would like to avoid the apocalypse" Jordan spoke in a very light and warm manner to the man, hoping to avoid having to barge in, diplomacy and tact were his.

DCNSJgT.jpg

Emile raised his hands in defeat as Chase berated him annoyed with the game, he certainly had not expected this sort of reaction from the hunter otherwise he wouldn't have done it at all. "I do know you live other ways." The man had spoken rather quickly in English, Emile did his best to catch ever word and translate into something he understood, but soon gave up; he knew he wouldn't be able to explain himself, so he let his hands drop. "I will ... discontinue?" He frowned, knowing there was another word but it slipped him at this point. "No more petit noms. Er. Pet names." He nodded then, re-affirming his statement. "I apologize you are angry with me. I did not want to cause this." He winced, hoping he had spoken clearly enough to get his point across.

dmVgWlp.jpg

As slow sarcastic smile crept across Bart's face as the man went on to explain his presence at Vitae. "Oh, is that all?" He laughed, glancing to another guard atop the wall with him before back to the visitor. "Well, I have to ask, do you by chance have an appointment?" He already knew the answer to this, if the man hadn't shown up and provided a name, there wasn't a chance in hell he knew much more about Vitae than what he just asked. "Leader of what?" It seemed like everyone and their mother showed up out of the blue demanding to speak to the council: gods of all sorts, vampires, werewolves and humans alike. He imagined Brendan hadn't seen his family in days with all the interruptions and meetings he took in.

"Forgive me for my rudeness, I am here on behalf of Inari Okami, ruler of us Kitsune. I do not seek to take much time, I would merely like to make... arrangements for a healthy and beneficial alliance. We were not aware that an appointment was needed and that is our mistake. Hunters don't generally take phone calls from Kitsune~" Jordan kept his voice professional and light even though the man seemed to be getting annoyed with him. Unfortunate but not unexpected, if things took a turn for the worst he'd just do what he always did, improvise

Chase sighed as Emile tried to apologize and explain himself and let his head hang for a moment, clearly there had been no intent other than being lighthearted. He'd expected more of an argument or challenge. How had he come out of this feeling like the ass exactly? Chase raised his head to lock eyes with Emile, "No, you shouldn't need to apologize. I get it, sort of. It's just this whole thing is a drastic change to what I'm used to. You are the Alpha, you lead and I'm meant to follow. It's an adjustment I suppose, but when Malcolm translated it I just felt less than a pack equal for a moment. But that's not what you meant which makes it my problem, not yours."

Chase simply raised a hand to splash a little water towards Emile's face playfully, deciding not to ruin anyone's relaxation or let stupid lighthearted nicknames get the better of him. "The last thing I want is for you to feel like you have to tiptoe with your words around me." Chase considered for a second that might not translate well with Emile. "I'll learn not to take everything you say so seriously. You just aren't like the few Alpha's I've met."

William released a breath he didn't know he'd been holding as the tension in the room deflated. Well, the hostile tension at any rate, only to be replaced by a very different kind... most of it between Ashley-May and Elijah. For the briefest of moments Will wondered if he'd missed something about the two of them in the past few days, if their impromptu matchmaking mission for Mac and him had ended up bringing them closer together as well. Was that another reason Ashley-May had come to him first with her "dilemma"?

He pushed the thoughts away as he felt Ash's eyes on him and suddenly remembered the dish in his hands, passing it slowly to her.

Elijah had accepted the offered plate from Mackenzie, genuinely surprised that she had given up so quickly. He had expected a fight, an argument, something. But instead she had relented with a sideways glance to both her partner and Will. A knowing glance that made Elijah somehow even more uncomfortable than the prospect of her wrath did. "Thank you," he said finally, as much to break the silence as anything. He took a bite from one of the pastries, eyebrows perking up in delight. He found himself hoping this breakfast would allow the four of them to move on from this awkward... situation. Even now as he ate he found himself unable to look to his side at Ashley-May.

Solomon smiled at the Council, " A Pleasure to meet with both of you, and I thank you for taking the time to speak with me. The news I wanted to share with you is hardly good news as I foretell the end of creation. " Solomon waited for a moment. Mostly to gather his thoughts and give the two a chance to think on what he had said. " I overheard chatter between the gods that a powerful beast that had been sealed away since before humanity had begun to stir. That an organization has been trying to wake the beast in the hopes of controlling it. In the hopes of keeping the beast locked away I would like your help locating an artifact that my ancestor created: the Ars Goetia. A book of contracts he made with the most powerful demons of hell. With it I'm sure we could keep the beast in whatever prison it's currently in.

Suddenly the scared little girl pauses, confusion crossing her face, and replacing the fear. "Wait… no. This is wrong." At which point, the djinn's mind starts fighting the dream, trying to figure out who or what has manipulated it. Of course, she's completely untrained, so that doesn't mean much, but she'll probably break through eventually.

Bart regarded the man out front of the gates to Vitae in a different manner now. “Kitsune.” He grumped, but was soon kicking the rope ladder down from the top of the wall and climbing down. Upon reaching the bottom he turned to face him once more. “I won’t be letting into the gates, not without the Council approving, but I’ll get you your meeting.” He took his cell phone from his pocket and texted Brendan.

Emile chuckled as Chase splashed him; there was a moment he considered tackling the other wolf as he would any other members of his pack. Chase had initiated the playful game, however it withheld; Chase was not like the other wolves, he identified himself more human than wolf and he could only assume if Emile did was what instinctive the other man would feel out of place once more.

“We learn.” He said simply, both of them needed to figure out how to adapt to the other, and the pack with them. Chase was the first and only wolf that was born this way but never acted like the wolf he was. Emile had as much to learn about human boundaries as Chase needed to learn about being part of the pack. Emile gave Chase a lopsided grin as the younger man commented he was not like other Alphas. “Thank you.” Regardless of if Chase meant it as a compliment that was how Emile was going to take it. “You are new to me.” He frowned. “Different,” He used the word Chase had used to describe him. “You will teach me? To know what you like?”

Mackenzie was aware of the awkward silence in the room, but she wasn’t entirely certain what had caused it; whether it had been her and Eli’s brief conversation about his omitting information, of something else. She waited until everyone was served before she cleared her throat and leaned back in her chair. “I’m glad you all could make it to the meeting this morning.” Ashley rolled her eyes but kept at her breakfast, famished.

Mac continued. “There’s something I need to talk to you about, both of you Ash and Eli. It’s about the pack. Will and I have been thinking and we both agree that neither of us want either of you here the night they attack.” She was quick to continue on so Ash couldn’t interrupt her. “Ash, I want you to take Eli and my car and go to the town nearby. With your current condition and Eli recovering neither of you can get into a fight. “

Ash finished her bite of food before speaking. “So send Sandy with him. She’s not a hunter so she can’t defend herself. I can be useful here, pregnant or not.”

Mac glanced from Will to Eli before back to Ash, “But if the pack follows she won’t know the signs or what to do.” Once more she looked to the two men in the room seeking assistance.

Both Councilmen glanced at each other at Solomon’s revelation –they were aware of the coming end despite not having announced it to the colony yet. Neither of them needed him telling the public either, not with the pack coming; they needed all their focus on the next thing not something in the future that might end them.

Before Brendan could speak his phone buzzed, he frowned and glanced at his text from Bart at the Gates. “Excuse me.” He said as he rose and started striding from the tent.

Angela waited for Brendan to leave before speaking to Solomon. “Thank you, Mr. David, for bringing this news to us, we will handle it as well as we can, but we ask that you refrain from telling the residence about this; as it stands there is a rather large werewolf pack in the woods surrounding Vitae that threatens us currently. In return, once the pack has been dealt with, we will assist you in recovering your book.”

Thor sighed "There are plenty of things that are real, besides me. But to answer your question... We are not what we once was, I am more powerful than angels, with the exception of the archangels of course, but that doesn't mean that the Heavenly Host for example wouldn't make short work of what I have at my disposal. Most of my kin have been reduced to little more than common monsters, we wouldn't be accepted as Gods simply. Faith can not be forced."

William spoke up, his voice calm. "Mac's right. Elijah can't defend himself in his current state and you and I both know that he's not out of the woods yet, medically speaking."

Will crossed his arms. "I can't have him here when the Pack comes. And we don't know how far the Pack might track him in a worst case scenario. He wounded their members, they have his scent. Whoever goes with him needs to be able to handle themselves while monitoring his vitals," he finished, inclining his head toward Ashley-May.

"I'm right here," Elijah muttered under his breath. He was annoyed at being talked about like some out-of-sight liability... even if that last part was true. Will gave his partner an apologetic glance.

Davenport sighed, turning toward Ashley-May. "But they're not wrong. As much as I hate to admit it, I'm no good here. The last thing I want is to be a burden, but if it means making everyone safer..." his voice trailed off; he was all too aware of who he meant by "everyone".

Eli frowned. "Speaking of which, where did you have in mind to send us?"

Chase nodded at Emile's words that they'd both have to learn. For however long he was here Emile would have to learn that Chase wouldn't be able to just transition into a pack wolf, he wasn't willing to completely change who he was for any reason. And Chase had to realize Emile, or this pack for that matter, weren't like past wolves he'd encountered. "Yeah, well you're new to me too big guy. The only person who has ever gotten to order me a round is my father," Chase rolled his neck hearing it pop and chuckled, "And that was only sometimes."

The man with his broken English and apologizing was more than enough to just have Chase drop any argument over something as dumb as a playful nickname. "I assumed the hidden meanings behind those names without even speaking to you and that wasn't fair."

" Understood, you may not know this as your dealings have been with our how do you say... inexperienced? But patience is a virtue of the Kitsune." Jordan stepped to the side and closed his eyes in meditation, it might be a while before whoever the man had texted decided to show up, it was also a very subtle way of saying that he was going nowhere until his mission was complete

Jordan didn't have to wait long before the gates to Vitae rolled open just wide enough to allow Brendan to step through before they were closed once more behind them. He glanced briefly to Bart before striding from the colony closer to the kitsune that had requested a meeting. "You are the representative of Inari Okami?" Brendan wasn't certain at this point if that were a group or a person, but he was sure he would find out soon enough. "My name is Brendan Jack, a Councilmen representing Vitae; Our guard said you wanted to speak about an alliance?"

Ashley-May watched and listened to William back up Mackenzie on this 'plan' of hers, it honestly didn't surprise her that the two would team up on her to try and push her out. It annoyed her that Mac still didn't consider her capable of not only defending herself but helping the other hunters when the time came. What shocked her was Elijah agreeing with them! Head whipped around to first start in disbelief at the Englishman in the bed beside her. Her eyes narrowed as she listened to him agree with them that she should leave with him for the evening, she was about to protest but the last part of what he said stuck.

everyone safer...

She couldn't just consider herself any longer, it wasn't about her and Mac and their on going tug of war of whether or not she was ready and able, it was about her being able to not only take care of herself, and Eli, but the child within her. She wouldn't vocalize her agreement, but she knew she had been defeated. She glanced to her partner with mild interest as what her plan had been.

Mackenzie had been thankful Will spoke up when he did, but Eli taking the mantle and Ash listened to him finally got the blonde to listen... for now. Eli was inquiring where to go and a slight smirk crossed her lips. "Drive in movie date." She said teasingly. "Friday night the drive in will be busy. Lots of people mean if the pack does follow they won't be able to come as anything but human, and if a gang of men walk up to a car with a woman and ... injured man inside to cause trouble. Well people like to fight and get into other peoples business, right?"

She could already see Ash's expression changing, but it was hard to tell if she looked terrified or happy. "By the time the movies let out Vitae's fate will be decided." She turned back to Eli. "It's double feature night, Classics no less! The first film is The Shining, and the second The Blue Lagoon."

DCNSJgT.jpg

Emile was thankful to see at least his point made it across to the young man, that none of his pet name had been meant to offend. He shook his head slightly. "I know now, humans don't like game." He teased Chase with a small laugh. He leaned back in the shallow water, resting on his elbows so the water rose to his chest, cooling him down from the direct sunlight. "I am sure your father will be happy to know you still fight with Alpha, eh? To know he not alone?" Emile smirked then but soon paused, a frown developing.

"Your father still in Vitae," he said slowly. "How will you parle.. er, speak wit him now?" He tilted his head aside, there was a second he reconsidered his words. "I mean. You need to speak to him, yes? So he know you are alright, safe?" Emile soon gave an aggrivated growl. "J'essaie de vous dire que vous pouvez parler à votre père sans souci. Je ne vais pas vous arrêter. Comment puis-je dire cela en anglais?" He glanced towards where a few others were relaxing in the water, knowing they could hear what they were discussing, he called one of them. "Veuillez interpréter Real?"

The man named Real glanced towards Chase briefly. "He's trying to tell you fell free to call your dad, he doesn't want you family to worry about you."

Chase smiled lightly as Emile led the conversation towards humor. "Yeah, the old man would be pissed if I just fell in line." He sought to uncross his legs in the water, feeling the need to stretch them. Emile spoke on his father and communication, but before he could answer the other man had another of his small french fits causing Chase to shake his head in amusement. When the other pack member, whom Chase had met briefly, and had already forgotten his name as expected, gave the translation Chase nodded in thanks before turning his head back to Emile.

"That's cheating you know, using others like that, you did it this morning with Morgan. You'll never learn the language if you constantly use a crutch like that." He teased with a smirk, though he spoke his mind on the matter then let it fade. "I brought my cellphone." Chase paused to gauge Emile's reaction, wondering if they were potentially something the pack didn't use then continued. "I planned to call him sometime today, I'm just not particularly looking forward to it." It was true, the next chance he got Chase was going to both call Joe and text Will. "I'm sure he'll have a few names of his own for me."

Jordan didn't answer right away, he remained as still as death until the man had finished speaking. Slowly his eyes opened and he stared at Brendan with indifference, like the fact that he was a hunter and a leader meant nothing to him... and it didn't, but that was neither the point or the intended move. "Indeed, I am Jordan Grace, the right hand of Inari Okami. He has sent me here to broker an alliance between our respective groups to combat the... well the end as it were. Inari-san regrets that he could not be here in person, but he also understands that your people see no distinction between us and our... let's call them... fallen brethren." Jordan spoke in a very professional manner as though he were in a sales pitch in a boardroom and not in front of a hunter stronghold armed to the teeth. "For now I only need to know if you are willing to forgo hostilities and Ally with the Kitsune... the terms of said alliance can be worked out at a later date. We are honorable and patient beings who do not wish to uninvitedly take note of your time then necessary~"
